Its our first time going to Cancun, the hotel is great for families especially if you have babies under 5 year old , first the resort is small so easy access to everything don't have to walk lot like other resorts their huge , and because its not a huge resort its super clean and staff are very friendly! Pools are clean sand is clean but beach water its not which is common there at most of the resort in that area , food is good especially at the restaurant the buffet was ok . Daycare for kids you can keep them and make sure you woke up early and go to the beach and reserve one of the beds down their is not lot of them and they will be gone by 7:30 am . Overall its very nice quit and the most important was for me its very clean and the stuff was super nice , housekeeping will come every day and make sure the room look great
Wonderful resort. Food was okay. Staff are excellent and very hospitable. Pools were not heated and beach was only cleaned once a day. Lots of entertainment for kids.
Our stay at Sensira was fantastic. The staff and service was incredible. Food was excellent as was our room. We loved the smaller size of the resort making it easily walkable. The kids pool area was great and our children LOVED going to the kids club. The entertainment staff worked hard and put on great shows. The spa was also a highlight. Definitely recommend this resort and would love to return one day.
I love everything about this resort. It Was my first time in Mexico and I will definitely return
Returned Jan 14th from a family vacation. This is a young children/family resort. If you're a couple without young kids, I do not recommend this resort unless that is what you are looking for. If your youngest child is 8 or 9, and you have older kids, I don't recommend this resort. With that said, for adults traveling with young kids, this resort isn't too bad. Large buffet for easy feeding, mellow pools for kids, what looked like kid friendly activities, clean rooms, and beach is mellow. Resort is dead by 10pm, so you won't feel bad going to bed early and getting up early. What evening events we saw, seemed decent. What we didn't like is the resort is understaffed. They are aware of this, but I'm assuming are trying to get to a less crowded time of the year when it makes sense to have less people working. This mainly affected the ala carte dining. Plan on 2-2.5 hours to dine and there are no reservation systems in place for 3 of the 4 restaurants. The adult only Galerie requires a same day reservation with concierge at 9am. The other three restaurants can be a long wait if you don't plan accordingly. We solved by arriving at 5pm to get a seat when restaurants opened at 5:30pm. That's a very early dining time, but by the time the food starts arriving it will be closer to 6:30pm. There is a charge for room service of $10 per delivery. We didn't use this service, but others we chatted with said that it takes 1-1.5 hours for delivery and the food is cold.
The resort is kid friendly. Helpful friendly staff. - Entertainment in the lobby should be every night. - More umbrellas are need in the pool areas. Some were in poor condition. Need umbrellas for every 3 lounge chairs. - Should be able to book cabanas and lounge chairs daily at a reservation desk. Did not come to a vacation resort to have to get up at 4:00 am to go and block pool seating for the day with my towels. - Your website should not advertise amenities that are not available because they are under construction - The first couple of days when we got there the cleaning staff were great. Near the middle and end of our stay they stopped coming. We only got 2 nights turndown service when it should have been everynight as advertised. Our room did not get cleaned for 3 days. We were generous and left $5.00 (American) everyday for the cleaning staff. We now they didn't show up because no new towels, the bed wasn't made, the garbage bins not emptied and the $5 tip was still there. Very disappointed. - The last 10 min drive into the hotel, the road needs to be tended to. - I would not rate this hotel as 5 star or diamond, more like a 3 1/2 star
The location is far from most attractions/activities, and given its remoteness and extremely poor road conditions leading to the facility it was difficult to acquire reasonably priced transportation. I paid $120 USD to get from the airport with my two kids. The taxis all had the same price. The room we chose with bunkbeds were in very poor condition, the kids could not sleep in them. I tried to upgrade to another room but I was told this could not be accommodated. Access to USD under $50 dollars from ATM did not exist. I would have liked to tip staff more than I did, but the store was not able to make change and the baggage handlers had limited funds. I think not having access to break larger bills is doing a disservice to the income of the staff. The pool was very cold, it's unfortunate they were not heated to some extent. Most people avoided swimming on account of this, and the beach is largely not swimable. The water is brown and there is a lot of seaweed. Most staff were pleasant and upbeat. The rooms were well maintained and clean. The dining experiences were good, especially the Galleria. The Mexican restaurants menu is likely a little too authentic for the taste of most North Americans or kids. The entertainment was low budget but better than most resorts I have been to, and I attribute this to the energy and talent of the performers. I think there is a missed opportunity not to offer latin dance lessons in groups or even privately.
Perfect for young families but for older adults as well. French restaurant and Steak house were top notch. Can’t complain about anything!
We stayed in the Ruby Suite. We didn't realize we had all the additional benefits with the room purchase until check-in. Seven-night stay with an exceptional view from room 438 (10/10). Our butler, Jony, was very enthusiastic, helpful, and personable. All of the staff provided exceptional service and very friendly.
Had a great family vacation. The entertainment (Brian, David, Daniel, etc) provided great entertainment and the nightly shows were good for both kids and adults. The service staff (Victor & Janitzia - Lobby Bar, Francisco, Ivan and Angel - Beach Cafe, Mario and Jaime - Food Court, Nadia, Connie, and Ale - Spa, Diego - Bellman and the staff at the tea room) were all very nice people, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the area. Thanks so much!
It met simplicity of our first family vacation.
The staff was outstanding!
This is a family oriented resort so it is great for families. If you’re a couple that like to be out the way it is great for you too. The only thing that frightened me was the 3mi road getting to the property. Potholes are huge so if you’re not used to driving on roads like that, don’t drive. There is nothing walking distance so you’ll have to uber/taxi to wherever you like. I have to give the hugest shout out to the bellman Diego. From arrival to departure and everything in between, he is the epitome of guest service excellence. He took some REALLY GREAT photos of my fiancé and I that we are getting framed. Everett in dining hall in the lobby was great too ! He poured us drinks until the drinks started drinking us. Oscar helped me to set up excursions and my ride back to the airport. My room was cleaned well by housekeeping but they did not replace wash cloths and towels and we had to wait 30 min to receive them. besides the housekeeping mishap, my stay was awesome and i thank you all for a great birthday
Our stay at Sensira was great. We really enjoyed the buffet. The selection of fruits and different cuisines were delicious. The Italian restaurant was not the greatest. The Mexican restaurant had very good appetizers but I would skip the mains. Steakhouse was solid. However, the highlight of the trip was all the activities for my 2.5 year old. She absolutely loved the trampoline room, even though she was the smallest one in there. The air hockey tables were a bit worn, but they were still fun for her. The daybeds were great and we spent most of the day at the beach. The staff were really great, especially at La Pergola (the buffet). Special shout out to Hever, Adrian, Karina, Mario and Roberto! We picked this resort specifically because it was very family friendly and it lived up to the reviews. Only real complaint would be the inability to stop the AC in the rooms. It was very cold in the rooms. Would definitely go again next year!
This was a nice place, but not at all luxurious for anyone who’s ever stayed some place that is. We had the highest tier room which came with a butler—Cristian was lovely and helpful—and access to the Amber lounge which was a nice place to have coffee in the morning. Overall my wife and I made a great time of it, but even in the “adults only” section, this is a resort almost exclusively for young families. We were traveling without our nearly grown children for the first time in a while, and didn’t mind the noise and chaos created by toddlers and small children, but it’s not what we thought we were signing up for. If you’re a young or multi-generational family looking for a budget friendly all-inclusive pool vacation, this might be the place for you. If you’re a couple who wants an atmosphere of romance and pampered luxury, this is not it. It would however be remiss of me not to mention how spectacular the spa was. We had a couples massage, followed by the hydrotherapy, and I’ve never felt so relaxed. It was the best relaxing massage I’ve ever had.
Definitely caters to kids which is why I chose it and love about it. But……. Food very slender options at the buffet area.the showers are stand up showers and the water comes out all over the place, have to put a towel, the cups at the swim up pool definitely need to be changed out, and the swim up pool is dirty due to how close the beach is to the pool.
The best property for families and parents with small children. So many great options for entertainment for the kids and plenty of things to do. We also loved the daycare, the kiddos loved going there and it gave us adults an opportunity to enjoy some time alone before picking them up.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! (4 adults, 4 kids under 7). The amenities, beach, pools were all amazing and well used by all. The resort had several washrooms around the main areas and they were fairly well kept for how busy it was! Our room was nice & big with a beautiful view (room 511). The main lobby, kid zone etc were awesome options for the kids. We tried to attend a couple viewings of the movies but they were either not playing or the wrong one was on. The buffet was pretty good, however we were disappointed that it was open and closed during certain times along with the other snack areas - which only proved issues with the littles since they dine on their own time. There were options, but felt sort of limited. Buffet was good - consistent at least. It did seem basic, not much options for the kids (chicken nuggets, french fries and cheese quesadillas for many nights) which they were already tired of from the lunch options served at the pool/beach. The best buffet was the last day we were there - figures! Our only neg. feedback was the Al a Cart restaurants had amazing food but you couldn't actually make any reservations - they were first come first served - and even though we were first few in line it was at least 2hr ordeal at the steakhouse which obviously didn't fare well with the kids. The service at the al a carts were sub par compared to the rest of the resort. Overall we would return here again!
Resort should include transportation for guests coming into the country, we had a difficult time with the drivers from the airport and finding a reliable trustworthy company to use. Resort is nice but a lot of areas are needing repairs. Unable floor easily kids trip on and my sister did as well. Often no soap in the pool/ beach area bathrooms. Our room was never stocked from the beginning and always missing items, sometimes not restocked with enough bath towels. A lot of inconsistencies. The adult only section was often filled with kids all day causing a lot of sand and dirt on the pool and hot tub making it not pleasing to use at all. No supervision from resort staff and a great lack of staff at this resort in general . Everyone is genuinely nice but you can see they are over worked and needed more employees on premises. Food was good and a lot of options, vegan and vegetarian menu at almost all the a la carts and buffet. But overall for what you spend at this resort I would not consider it luxury as there was a lot of dissatisfaction our group experienced and did not make us happy on this trip.
We attended over Christmas holidays 2024 with our two children age 5 & 8. Although the price and reviews made it seem like a great deal, we ultimately did not have a great experience. - our son is celiac; there were pretty limited gluten free foods or the foods that might have been gluten free were highly cross contaminated. When we made inquiries for example at the buffet, servers couldn’t answer any questions. - this leads to the next issue which is that the staff throughout the resort largely had very limited English skills. If any at all. While I realize it was Mexico, a resort catering to international guests should have staff with better English skills. - the facilities that attracted us to this resort- games area with foosball and air hockey, video game stations, trampoline and foam pit- were all in terrible condition. The air hockey and foosball were all damaged and dysfunctional, missing pucks and balls; the video game stations were dysfunctional; the trampoline and foam pit were ok but in very worn out condition, nothing like the pictures on the website. The foam pit left little pieces of foam in our kids hair and clothes. - the buffet and restaurants had very limited hours and availability. During the day there were no buffet spaces open and so we found ourselves having to collect extra food at breakfast so the kids would have snacks during the day. I would expect a buffet facility at a resort like the is to be open all day. - I could go on; I do not recommend.
Nice resort
Exceptional family resort
We had an amazing experience at Sensira. The staff were outstanding. The rooms were very spacious, clean and modern. The kid amenities were exceptional from young to preteen. The spa experience was really special. Food was fantastic. Excellent value for experience. We would highly recommend this resort to families.
Overall we liked this resort but felt there were some things that could be improved. Good things… Food - we thought it was great! The restaurants were nice to mix it up but the buffet was also good. We didn’t do the buffet for dinner only breakfast and lunch but both of those were great. I’m celiac and always found something to eat but the buffet didn’t label anything except for the small bread section. Would be nice if they labelled things. I just stuck to the few items I felt safe with. Would not recommend this resort for celiac especially kids. Some efforts were made but not enough. Pools - my kids loved the pools and so did we. They are not heated though and I wish they had a hot tub in the family side. The kids were cold a lot and could have used a warmer pool to warm up! But that was partly because it wasn’t as hot outside, we had many overcast days. Layout - the whole place is well laid out. Never felt far from anything. Evening shows- we loved the shows and so did my kids although they were so tired they rarely made it to the end. Still very fun! The theatre was good and I liked the choices of movies. The areas that need improvement Amenities - the kids area were run down or completely closed. Felt there wasn’t as much to do as advertised. For example the foosball table had no balls, one air hockey table wasn’t working and the other was very run down. The courts were closed and never once saw anyone working to fix any of these things.
Food was terrible . Service on the beach , mediocre
The resort itself and our room were beautiful. However, we will not be back because the service was very slow, there were lineups everywhere (dining, bars, coffee shop) and it was impossible to get a pool lounger unless you "reserved" (technically not allowed) very early in the morning. Overall it seemed that they were short-staffed and just did not run efficiently. For example there were always lineups to get into the restaurants and the hosts were usually doing the table cleanup in addition to seating guests so it would take a long time before you even talked to the host even if there were empty tables. The pool/beach grill was usually backed up for 90 minutes during lunchtime/early afternoon. It's too bad the service was so poor because the resort and room were lovely so other that that we would go back in a heartbeat.
They were all helpful I felt safe
Dirty beach, seaweed piles not picked up, towels everywhere. Minimal entertainment. Very cold pools. Would not go back or recommend to family and friends.
Transportation is very restricted due to security. Cleanliness was poor, it was a struggle to get face cloths and water. Thr whole family was ill and I know I cant narrow down where from but the help was minimal unless you dish out some big tips. There were things closed or in rough shape compared to the photos. Be prepared to have more money to budget and spend. If your not amber level or higher you cannot reserve dinner and the waits are hours and hours if you manage to get a table. The seaweed is a lot, no teal waters like the photos. The spa was probably the best part of the facility.
Very poor buffet
The resort was alright. Our view was amazing, but that was about it. Never got to use the pool because the water was so cold. Even the hot tub water was room temperature. The food was below average. Everything tasted bland and didn’t match the description. Our Margarita pizza was just tomato slices and cheese. The property was also very understaffed.
My Kids and husband got sick, The kids vomit on the beds, we call concierge so they send people and clean, nobody came, we were sleeping in one bed with 3 sick kids, until one of my sisters call again for the third time to see if we can have someone to clean the room. This Resort it's too big and they don't have that much people working there. The only good thing here was Cristian. He was the only one helping us.
Our stay at Sensira was wonderful. Our room was very clean and looked almost new. We will definitely return.
If you put your money in trash bin it is better to give it to them.
The staff are looking for the tips all the time If there was not tips you will not receive a good Servise so it makes good Servise for those who pay them tips not food is average food. The restaurant below average I believed that they did not provide good food in order make the guests not to eat so much pools and jacuzzi were not heated you could smell the septic tank oder even sometimes in the room
Overall great experience & resort for families with kids 12 & under. Above average food, entertaining night shows, clean pools, a lot of activities for kiddos. Friendly staff. We were there over New Year’s Eve and they were booked to capacity. Wait times for food may have been longer than typical but that’s to be expected during the holidays. Not the most beautiful beach area but nothing you can do about Mother Nature! We had a great vacation and would recommend this resort to others!
Stayed in Sensira for 2w with 2 kids, 5 and 4. Overall it does feel like hotels best time is in the past. Let's break it down: Sea: Although they tried their best to cleanup the sargassum it's pretty bad and it's already uncomfortable 13 feet from the shore. We ended up playing a bit there but hard time swimming. Pools: Water was cold, they don't warm it up at all so we couldn't spend a lot of time in there. They cleaned it up occasionally but I found a piece of chicken floating there one time and nobody seemed to care. Facilities: Getting a sun bed was hard. 7:30am there were little options because everything was taken. Hotel is just not able to scale and service all guests which is a shame. Table tennis and aero hockey tables were very old and half broken which was a shame for hotel claiming it's 5 stars. Kids could barely play with them. Zipline is only available for kids higher than 3.9. Kids club: Overall kids liked it. The staff didn't seem to be super engaged and the area had a strong chemical smell but overall it worked. Mechanical bull was the favorite activity. Food: Probably the low light of the hotel. You get buffet for breakfast and lunch and buffet 3 restaurants (mexican, grill and italian) for dinner. Food wasn't great in the buffet but probably with 1-2 edible options. Breakfast was the same every day. Many dishes weren't seasoned enough and overall had poor taste. Turkey was dry and one time they served undercooked fish. They had 2 gri
Great amenities, especially for children (movie theatre, ziplining, kids slide/pool). Everything you need is on site. We ordered two rooms but unfortunately only one received an upgrade. I just feel like we unfortunately choose high season and it was hard to get seats by the pool (almost impossible since every chair was taken by 8am) and to get seated for dinner would take over an hr most nights but great hotel! My whole family enjoyed.
The dining restaurant is only open in the evening, and it is difficult to get a table without a reservation. The food is quite ordinary. The buffet is accessible, but it’s not at a level that would make you want to go every day.
Great stay. Lots of activities for kids and adults!
good trip
Was a bit concerned after reading some of the reviews beforehand but everything was nice at the hotel. It’s not a super high end place, but it was very nice over the break between Xmas and new years. All the food was good, and the servers were very attentive ( we tipped each meal and servers would ask for us to be seated in their section). Lots of kids activities which they enjoyed (7&9yo). The pools were a bit cool, but just needed to warm up in the sun to jump in. Would recommend eating on the earlier side, as one member noticed a difference in quality depending on time attended.
Went for New Year. The place was not that crowded but only 4 restaurants are open (1 buffet, 3 sit down). The buffet typically have a 20 minute line and the sit downs have 45 minutes at least. Sat there for 40 minutes, no one served water. Waited for 1 hour before making an order. What's more is that the restaurant is not full and they are not letting people in. If I want this experience, I'd stay in New York. The beach is also somehow very crowded. Couldn't even find a chair at 1PM. You'd think that as a beach side resort, they'd have this figured out. But no. The only good thing about this place is that it is closer to the airport. Not worth the price.
Sensira didn’t meet my expectations the hotel in pictures look beautiful but in person is a whole different scenario food wasn’t all that good pool was dirty and people were rude that my opinion
Sadly me and my family didn’t have a good time at the hotel. They don’t have enough staff, not enough sunbeds by the pool and beach. we had to do a line every time we want to eat, very inconvenient when you’re with small children. My sister, husband and kids, they spend two days with dirty bed sheets, trash and dishes.
From my point of view the management is the big issue here. There are simply enough staff to do the job. They look not happy because they are doing 3x times the work. There are lines for everything. There were two time where I went to the Italian restaurant and it took 20 minutes for somebody to come to the table. When you are traveling with kids and specially a 4 years old it is very tough to wait seating in a table without help. The facility is nice and that's it. Cups were dirty to drink, smelled bad. there is one bar in the pool for the whole hotel with one person to serve and another one to help the waiters in the pool(which was very scarce). There is waiting time for almost everything. Not happy at all and I dont think that the staff should go through what they do. They are frustrated because they see that the clients are not happy and they are working like crazy. Mexican staff could be the best in the world(by experience) but not there.
Property is older staff are ok night manager was not helpful food was bland except the steakhouse none of the room phones worked and the only redeeming quality was the spa
Not far from the airport but the way from main road which is going to the hotel was terrible, conditions were horrible, hole on hole, it took a long time to get in resort.
I like the resort. Food was really good. Staff super friendly. There is plenty of place in the pool. In general it was very good vacation. What to improve: Evening entertainment program was not good. I would add some games (poker nights, any other) and would add some show to theater such as few (not once a week) magic show, stand up would be great.
Completely did not care about room cleaning. Miss my wifes birthday set up for the room reminded everyday for 3 days. On the day of called 2x 6pm still nothing. Smh
Great place to stay with family, super clean, big rooms. Staff was awesome and helpful.
The staff were very nice.
We enjoyed our stay here. It is terrific for children with lots of activities including trampoline/ jumping room, Movie theater with three movies per day, and nightly show that the children enjoy. There are multiple pool areas including slides and an adult pool for those who prefer that. Cid was good. We only went to the main buffet restaurant but three are a number of his restaurants in the complex.. The building has deferred maintenance but in areas less used like the tennis and basketball area but then again who wants to play those shorts on holiday in cancun in the heat, sun and humidity. Ask around we stay there again.
The hotel is in a good condition. The choice of food is great, the beach area is a bit small and not as convenient for me, but overall is good. The water in the pools was cold, but it’s imho. The only thing I really didn’t like the water pressure in the shower, it was so bad that enjoying shower was impossible. All the rest is great. I also love the room we stayed with perfect ocean view.
Great resort for families, not far from the airport and the access to the beach is perfect. Restaurants are nice and tons of activities during the day. The staff is super friendly!
Expedia said this was a 8.6. I guess that is out of 20 because this property was all around terrible. Short staffed, horrible food and dirty. This is no exaggeration, as every family was talking about how they should have went somewhere else.
I’m not one to do a review but if it helps another family I will be happy. We were a group of 12 ages ranging from 4-70 so this resort “ looked” like it met all our needs. More staff would definitely help strengthen all the weak points. Our room was only cleaned twice and only had actual hot water one day. The beach had seaweed and garbage although they were trying. Most of the bartenders were miserable. The wait staff was probably the best and Ivan was our personal favourite. Although he was always on the run he always had a smile and did his best. We also paid for an upgrade so we were able to make reservations for dinner and enjoy the Amber Lounge. We were never able to order room service because no one answered the phone also never bartenders in the lounge. Our butlers never responded to me and only acouple times to my husband. Although they did to one in our group so at least we could get reservations. The adult pool does not feel adult with kids running through all the time and the swim up pool is not open. If you are looking for a place for a mixed age group this is not it. In summary this resort checked all of our boxes and sadly it fell quite short.
Good resort for families. For couples or singles, this would be a very poor choice. Very noisy with screaming kids in most areas of the property. The adults-only pool is not monitored by staff at all, so there are kids there too.
The resort was beautiful, lots of activities for the kids which was great. The staff are what really make this place memorable - our vacation was next level thanks to the entertainment staff, specially Gustavo, Brian and Daniel! They are the best!! Steak house had the best food! Only improvements that would be nice is more variety of food in the buffet and the smell in the kids club really needs to be addressed.
Food was not good, not enough options, sad buffet selection, understaffed and no one gave us any service unless we asked for it and still waited forever. For a family of 4 we were given a room with only 1 bed, had to wait for a room change which had a loose door lock that malfunctioned after 3 days. Wasted a whole morning waiting for someone to fix it. I was so over the resort after day 1 and anyone I talked to at front desk didn’t do much. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, holidays is busiest time of year and there weren’t enough pool chairs or staff to service people. It’s not family friendly and all the restaurants are located downstairs, outside. Very inconvenient, the resort photos featured and the reality are completely different, don’t go. Save your money and find another resort.
Our stay at Sensira was overall a wonderful experience, thanks to the incredible staff and the warm hospitality we received. A huge shoutout to Itzel, our concierge, who went above and beyond to make our trip seamless, and to Karina, who provided exceptional service during our meals with her friendly and attentive demeanor. Special thanks also to waiters: Ivan, Julio, Diego, Luis, Beatriz, Federico, Fidel, and hostess Itzel, Nanci, Ivan and Irving, who made us feel so welcome throughout our stay. Alicia and Gustavo, the dance instructors, brought so much fun and energy with their amazing classes—they made every class feel vibrant and unforgettable. While we had a great time, there were a few areas where improvements could be made. Our room phone wasn’t fixed during our stay despite reporting it 4 times, which made communication a bit inconvenient. The pool area, though lovely, felt too small for the number of guests, and there were not enough lounge chairs available, which was a bit frustrating. Additionally, the kids’ club policy of not allowing parents to participate or observe was disappointing, as it limited our family’s ability to fully enjoy that aspect of the resort. Despite these minor issues, the staff’s dedication, cleanliness and the overall quality of the experience made our trip memorable. We hope to see these areas improved in the future and would still highly recommend Sensira to any family looking for a relaxing, kids friendly getaway.
Felt catfishes with photos vs hotel in reality. -property had its glory days per Expedia photos but not at all maintained and understaffed -kids area- trampoline falling through sides/seams, foam pit area blocks were disgusting and pieces were everywhere -flooring cracked -room looks dated compared to photos -doesn’t look the the hotel tries to uphold image -tennis court /mini golf - “under maintainence” the whole trip duration -POOL BAR which is mandatory for all inclusives - closed and only 2-3 people serving the entire vacation pool goers facing the other side -buffet half closed/ only select food items -ice cream shop/cafe closes at 5PM. No ice cream after dinner? -complete flooding during rainfall, all restaurants on Lower level flooded walkway and water was an inch over ankles and still filling up. -room flooded and water still came in from balcony, hotel tried to clean and send maintainence which just out a towel in the floor and it started to soak up. We had to use all towels in room to stop it. Husband put out a dish to deflect the water from dripping into the door ledge -las Brisa’s was a minimum 1-2 hour wait. They cannot service the holiday vacationers with so little staff - Buffet was sad except Christmas Eve which had lobster -drinks and food were underwhelming, even worse when hotel was just a 4/10 at most -never wrote reviews and will start now, cannot believe we paid that much money for such a crappy experience -not to mention rest of our party had issueto
The view of my room. Cristian did an excellent job.
It was nice except the pools weren’t heated so my daughter couldn’t swim while we were there. So that sucked. If you want a cabana or a pool chair you have to wake up at the crack of dawn to “reserve” one otherwise you’ll end up walking around looking for one. The food at the buffet was almost always cold. Besides the buffet there are 3 other restaurants which were fine. Staff was always very friendly, they’re the best part of the resort.
Amazing staff members that care and treat all of its members with professionalism care and compassion. The entire staff is an A . Our friend/waiter by the pool side was attentive and caring for our needs. The staff from the Rodeo steak house were outstanding and professional as well. Outstanding time at the Sensira Resort. Will do again!!
I recently stayed at Sensira Hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was not the greatest. First, the breakfast options were quite limited ( 1 buffet restaurant for ALL guest) they serve the same thing everyday, which was disappointing. I expected a more varied selection to start the day, but there wasn't much to choose from. More concerning was the cleanliness of my room. I was shocked to find a cockroach during my stay. This is unacceptable for any hotel, and it certainly made me question the overall hygiene standards. Additionally, I found the hotel staff to be less than welcoming. I expected a friendly and accommodating atmosphere, but interactions felt rushed and uninviting. Overall, I left feeling dissatisfied and would not recommend this hotel based on my experience. I hope they take these issues seriously and make improvements for future guests.
The resort had a ton to do for kids and our kids (8 &10) loved it. There were definitely a lot of things that could’ve used fixing/updating but overall all of the things available for the kids were great. The food was not great at all. Service was great from the few staff they had - they were all running their butts off and they were awesome with the kids. However they must be short staffed as it was rare to see anyone come around to serve drinks/food by the pool area.
Overall the resort was very nice. There were a few things affected by neglect such as the air hockey tables (one didn't work and the other was in bad shape) and both foosball tables. I chose this resort due to the children's amenities, which is why I focused on the two things above. Maybe it was the time of year, but it was very windy which made the pool extra chilly. The option of having water heated (I know I'm being picky) would be great. The staff was amazing! They were patient with my kids and very accommodating. They were probably the best part of the resort. The beach was a beach in the geographic area. I can't complain because people have no control over the ocean. Not sure I'd return, but the experience was great. Thank you
“My recent stay at your hotel was very disappointing. The reception never responds, the housekeeping service is inefficient, and the buffet offered limited options with poor-quality food. Additionally, charging $10 for each room service order is excessive, especially considering there are no waiters for breakfast and the lines take over an hour. The pool is always cold, and the taxi fare from the airport at $180 is outrageous. This experience was unacceptable, and unfortunately, it will be my last stay at your hotel.”
Highly disappointed in this resort. Pools are not heated, hazardous for children with concrete. Rooms were not cleaned unless constant requests were made. Staff is not communicative , late opening restaurants. Food was terrible. Save your money or stay at the margaritaville Nextdoor for better service, food and overall experience. Also the beach is murky, not cleaned often enough and not walkable.
The entertainment and service staff were so amazing with the children at the resort. Brian made every event exciting and fun. Karina was our server each day and she was so kind anticipated our needs perfectly. Danna in the shop was so sweet and helpful as well. Top notch trip!
Some of the areas of the property were not well maintained. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was mediocre.
One of out worse experiences ever. Our family got food poisoning while we stayed there. The food were old on all the restaurants and buffet. They closed the pool while we were there plus staff were unhelpful and not friendly with the exception of couple of them. We had to leave the hotel early due to the issues above. We were told that we would get refund for the days we didn’t stay, but the Hotel and Expedia refused to refund our money! I would give this Hotel minus if I could. Stay away from here at all cost. Don’t fall for false advertising and special promotions. This hotel is not worth a penny.
Miguel at check in was amazing. One note we wish we knew was connecting rooms is a room with a king and the other with 2 queens. We would have liked that. I emailed upon booking but that was never mentioned until arrival. But a room apart did work as we both had 2 queens. The staff work hard. Gustavo and Brian are amazing and caring. They both have great spirits. Oliver was on top of everything in the food areas, and especially the each food area. David (MC) was entertaining and excellent at getting people involved. Karina was our breakfast server multiple days and kept up with our coffee and water as best she could. The resort was busy and had activities for all ages of kids, even our teens had a great time especially once making friends at the activities and playing manhunt at night together. The kids club was fabulous, our young one loved going back.
Beach and ocean around property in the area are contaminated. Not clean and clear water. Can not swim in the ocean. Went to Tulum and Cancún and checked the ocean there which are both clean and clear.
The resort has lots of amenities and activities for all age groups. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Resort is always maintained clean, almost all rooms have ocean view beautiful beach. If they have more vegiterian options, it would have been awesome. That is the only flipside. Limited vegiterian options. But overall the experience is great. Would 💯 recommend to friends
Good place for family
Excellent location no reason to leave property
recently stayed at Sensira Resort & Spa Riviera Maya and had a wonderful experience overall. The resort is incredibly family-friendly, offering a variety of activities and facilities for kids, including pools, an aquapark, and mini-golf. My children had a fantastic time, and it made our stay very enjoyable. The dining options are impressive, with restaurants open almost 24/7. The steakhouse restaurant, in particular, was outstanding, serving delicious meals that we thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, providing a luxurious feel with beautiful views of the Caribbean Sea The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. However, the road leading to the hotel was quite bumpy and seemed to have been neglected for a long time. This made the journey to the resort less pleasant, which is something that should be addressed to enhance the overall experience. Despite this, I would highly recommend Sensira Resort & Spa Riviera Maya for families looking for a fun and relaxing vacation. The excellent facilities and dining options more than make up for the minor inconvenience of the access road.
Kids club was not good area for kids, one of our kids got sick
This property first and foremost is LOUD, Spring break like environment, person on the speaker phone daily loud all day and radiates through the whole building so you can hardly talk to my sister. Isn’t a spa like atmosphere. It’s far from shopping and town. Hardly anyone can speak or understand English and staff would hang up or not answer when we called front desk or concierge, pools are FREEZING cold, we had ants on our balcony, they never restocked the fridge, only received 1 robe after a trying to ask for more, contacted Expedia to try and change resorts but they couldn’t reach anyone either and now Expedia is saying we won’t get refunded because they couldn’t talk to anyone- that was a huge part of our issue and one of the many reasons we wanted to switch resorts. Beach is full of seaweed. I would say the only positive was the buffet.
Don’t like that there’s nothing to eat for dinner besides going to the sit down restaurants and being there for 2 hours. Not enough entertainment for bad weather days. Had issues with sink in room that staff asnt able to fix and we had to fix ourselves. Mario in the buffet was incredible.
Excellent quality and service. The beds were as comfortable as any I have ever slept on. The clock in the shower drain was immediately addressed.
We loved the staff especially, Alexander at the steak house and Mario at the breakfast buffet. We weren't able to use the hot tub in the adults only area because it was always full of pre-school kids. Property is located miles from everywhere and cabs cost about $50 one way. So if you are looking for a family resort to spend time at it is great.
Great hardworking staff but obviously short staffed.
Great layout… lots of activities for kids. Steak house with the mechanical bull was a family favourite!
Good overall, staff not efficient most of the time
When I first checked in, the bell hop said "welcome home" and it felt like that each day. The rodeo grill has a mechanical bull for children and adults. Gracias Sensira. Gracias.
Vacation with family and two grandchildren. Absolutely amazing place for children, they loved the trampoline area and all you can eat ice cream. Playing mini golf and four different pools to play in. Playing in the sand. Dining was wonderful! Absolutely wonderful place to stay!
terrible place
This place was amazing all around! Fantastic for families with small children but still lots of adult areas as well. Would definitely return!
The resort was clean but that is about all the positives I can say! The staff had a handful of people that are friendly the rest of the time they were rude and honestly made you feel like you were an inconvenience to them. We had 6 kids between two couples we picked this resort because of the reviews and how much they had to offer for the kids there, however it was a huge disappointment with the lack of things to do unless you left your kids in a adventure club room to the side of the resort with no way of seeing them. Our kids didn't want to spend time in this room so we asked if they could come do a craft with us or have the craft out in the main lobby or pool deck. The answer was no and we couldn't stay with them either which was a red flag. The trampoline park seems like a great idea until you have 12 kids in a small area and kids getting hurt every two seconds. Most of the table games aren't working, the zip line has a height limit so only 1 of the kids was able to go on it. The food was good but the options are very minimal when they don't have a buffet at night and one of the dining areas are adult only. The biggest disappointment was the POOLS ARE FREEZING, to the point where no one wanted to go in them or could only go for short periods of time. The beach has seaweed grass all over it, as much as they try to clean it up it looks dirty at all time. We would take walks daily up the beach, it was not maintained - seaweed grass and plastic /garbage everywhere.
Staff was great
Awesome experience
Family Friendly Hotel
The property looks a lot better in pictures than it really is. The tennis court and the multi-sport court on the rooftop is closed down due to missing railing. All of the basketball hoops are ripped off. There was glass on the mini golf. The kids play areas are in the basement and there’s a smell of moisture. The trampoline area has “dust” from the foam blocks that they never vacuum. There’s dust everywhere. At night time they turn down the lights, even in the lobby. There are a few restaurants and the food was actually very good, however, at dinner time you have to go to a sit down restaurant and with small kids starting a sit down dinner at 6pm is too late. The food takes a while to come out and by the time you’re eating the kids are melting by down. A lot of the wheelchair/stroller ramps are extremely steep and unsafe. There’s no railings in places. The shallow kids poop is not heated and the water was very cold. The building acts as a big sail and it’s extremely windy at all times - the wind channels between the sections. There is paint peeling everywhere. We found a cockroach near the hotel rooms. At night time the wind howls under the doors and through the windows. The beds are comfortable, however one of the pillows we were given had black mould on the actual pillow. There’s nothing around the property to explore unless you take a shuttle or taxi.
THE TRUTH about this resort: 1. Difficult to get to due to the horrible road conditions that the resorts don't want to spend money on fixing. 2. Limited dining options: their breakfast buffet runs from 7-11 am and 1-4 for lunch. They only have four restaurants, and you need reservations for two of them. They open at 5:30 pm. Long waiting lines up to 2 hours (ridiculous if you are traveling with kids). 3. There is only one family pool, one kids pool, and one adult pool. There are not enough chairs to accommodate all the hotel's guests around the pool and beach area; therefore, there are daily fights among guests. 4. Although the service staff is friendly, there are not enough employees to serve all the hotel's guests at the restaurants and pool area. They are exploiting these poor, hard-working people and underpaying them for sure. 5. The beach is usually dirty due to the daily sargassum and algae being pushed out by high tide. The hotel maintenance staff does not remove this algae; it is contracted out and is done every two days, and they do a very poor job. If you want a decent hotel and enjoy a cleab tropical beach. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND NOR WILL RETURN TO THIS RESORT.
The property was excellent. The staff and service was great. We loved everything except the beach did have a lot of seaweed. so it was difficult to go on the beach.
The resort overall was clean. The staff would take towels/floor mats when cleaning the room and not leave a replacement. The play areas were worn out and the game tables were in need of replacement. Dining was lackluster. The dinner options took far too long to be served and the fact that the wait staff were non existent during meals was disappointing. We felt held hostage by the lack of choices. Dishes we ordered were missed on multiple occasions. With a young family it was troublesome to wait so long for dinner. Buffet options for evening would be appreciated. Forget room service instead, it took over an hour to be delivered and arrived cold. At one point an order was lost and never delivered to the room. In addition, we all came down with a stomach bug and believe it was from the lunch service not being cooked properly. Our grandson had to be treated by the physician for a terrible rash ,HFM, he picked up at the playground. The affordability was unfortunately eclipsed by these untenable factors.
