Lots of potential but….

This hotel has a lot of potential but lacking in a few key areas. First the positive. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was excellent! No AC but wasn’t necessary, however no fan and that is sometimes necessary on warmer days. The prices for their beverages are outrageous and not even particularly cold. The reception was very friendly but the ARMED security guard harrassed me because the staff had not given me a wristband, something I did not see on other guests. I was wearing my American flag hat so maybe he was part of the “harrass the gringos” club encouraged by their new socialist, Maduro and China friendly, President? Most Colombians despise him and he will be gone in the next election unless he cheats like Maduro which is certainly possible. Overall I still give this hotel 4/5 stars because MOST of the staff were very friendly and welcoming . Replace the security guard and put fans in the rooms and I would give it 5/5 stars.

Staff was very rude. I forgot my passport but had a photo of my ID page on my phone which of course matches me. The staff demanded my physical passport, wanting to examine the stamped pages, and would not let me check in. My visas are none of their business. They would not respond when I asked for a refund since they would not allow me to check in, so I had to dispute the charge on my credit card since the room was paid in advance. I had to find different accommodations. Never again.

On our second day, we came back to the hotel only to find ROACHES crawling around the room. Easily, we counted about 10 between the ones we spotted and those we could kill. This all happened during the night; so when we went to the reception, they said we had to wait until the maintenance/room service morning shift came so they could clean. The problem is that they had already done the room cleaning service that very day. On another note, the room only has 1 window that faces THE FLOOR'S HALL. There's no other window.

Very nice hostel, well located, spacious kitchen, friendly and helpful staff. The Wifi isn’t working that well in all the rooms though and I could hear the music from the bar even on the sixth floor. Overall, I was pleasantly satisfied with my stay there.

No AC… and very loud music playing till after 1am. You can hear the music from the downstairs lounge as well as the next door nightclub. Had to keep the windows open as it was hot and again, no AC. There was also construction going on nearby that started very early in the morning around 7am, couldn’t sleep through it. At checkout, we saw the front desk offer a fan to other incoming guests but this was not advised to us at our check in. location was good though.

Security guards wanted money almost everytime while coming back to the room late nights. I never wanted to come out my room because we never knew if the guard were going to take our money.

The location was nice but this Selina hotel is below average compared to other locations. I booked a private queen room and it didn’t have any type or cooling or heating system. And there weren’t any iiron/hair dryer in the room.

was extremely disappointed to have money stolen from my wallet (which was inside a pouch - stored inside a back pack that was closed) from my room ! the hotel would not take responsibility of course stating they cannot verify the money was indeed stolen. besides - the beds and mattresses are extremally uncomfortable! rooms that are facing to the road - are to loud with loud noise from the road all night long. many of the rooms do not have AC - and that is not stated and you can't know if you have AC until you actually check in and get your room. big advice - only get a room in a hotel that has a safe in the room!

It is an average place to stay, an excellent and accessible area for many activities, but some staff members were rude.

Super rude staff, so much that I even said hi to one and he did not even say hello. The rooms DO NOT HAVE A/C, I believe they should let people know. Also, the towels smelled disgusting. And the most shocking thing was seeing a bart tender LICK a spoon and then use it to mix a drink. I do not recommend

Not like the other Selinas.

I wouldn't come back to this Selina or any other Selina base don my stay. The staff was not friendly and the rooms were dirty. Our room was never clean.

The Hotel is in a good area, but there is a lot of noise, inclusive from the same hotel. If you want to relax and sleep well, this is NOT a good option. I talked to the fornt desk to Isabel Dorado, and she was "not" friendly, basically sais this is what you get. The restaurant makes parties on Friday but the sound system is not well distributed, so they just put the volume the "high" they can to have fun.

I liked the prime location of the property and that Selina had so many amenities.

Selina Medellin is not like others Selinas, rooms are dirty, window ac that barely works and I got bite for some kind of insect while sleeping ( not sure if it was bed bugs) I would never stay here again the only reason I did was because everything else was soldout.

The hotel was lively beautiful scenery inside and outside. The staff was amazing, and very welcoming as well as helpful. Definitely going to be one of my top choices when I visit Medellín.

Poor service.

Selina Medellin was in a good location in el poblado. The main dining and bar areas are in walking distance. The rooms are pretty clean. You have housekeeping often so the room can stay clean. The rooms can be a little small especially if you have roommates with lots of stuff, then it can get crowded. If you want to lock up personal stuff, you can take a small lock since there’s lockers in the room. It can get very loud at night since Medellin is always partying, so take ear plugs.

Selina I love you!

Everything was amazing at Selina. The staff, the hotel del and room, and the ambiance of other travelers. Beautiful all around. I would 1000% recommend staying at Selina

I like the location. Everyone was friendly except for Paula at the front desk. The room did not have a hair dryer, no tv, no phone.

Great Neighborhood

The hostel was perfectly located in the heart of Poblado, great for asking and exploring the neighborhood. Our private room was a bit musty and the bed wasn't the most comfortable. But other than these two small things, the place was okay for a few days of adventuring.

Old dirty and rude front staff. It’s not the best hostal. They are more nearby that are way cuter for the same price

Good WiFi and spacious rooms but that’s about it. Quality of the furniture is terrible, no housekeeping, and the speakers on the projector in the movie theater doesn’t work half the time. The cowork is good and reliable and that’s basically what you’re paying for because you can get 4 star hotels at the same price.

Disgusting to stay in!

It was a shame to stay there... We normally know the Selina’s in another country’s and had the best experience ever with everything... but this time was really disappointed. They say that we was upgraded to a better room just because, but when we get to the room this room was nothing comfy, or clean or even cool...Room #515 it was disgusting the sofa was “dirty” and the bed, the closet ... to be honest the worse experience!

Place is unique and hip. Murals and art everywhere. Cafe and bar.

No AC or fans, 1/2 the outlets in our room didn’t work. The hotel may look nice in pics but is like a painted up old school building. We also ordered breakfast and it wasn’t made so we had to re-order 1/2 hour later. Overall it’s a cheap stay in a nice neighborhood but I wouldn’t stay here again.

the bathrooms are TERRIBLE. there are no glass walls around the shower so the water on the floor is EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!! THAT MEANS u cannot use the bathroom after a shower until the water dries off. That is a deal killer for me....I wil not stay there again. The staff is very friendly and helpful......

It was ok. Room was clean, decor very artistic. Right above good food and coffee. Keeping a consistent room temp was tough, no iron available, no safe , no tv .....limited on bathroom toiletries

Safe area. Room was nice. The air conditioning was not quite working but had a window which helped with the matter. Would definitely recommended and stay at Selina again.

Majors issues in amending a booking. The net result was that i was charged for a night that i did not use. I therefore did not pay for the coworking space i had scheduled. A poor experience dealing with a reservations team that were unwilling to see the bigger picture.

Good hostel with some hotel like rooms too! Great bar area and ping pong table! Lots of people so not very intimate if you are traveling solo and looking to meet buddies.

Poor service but facilities and location good

The location is in the really touristy part of town surrounded by restaurants and bars. The hostel has really good facilities but the service was really poor and we had to move rooms in the middle of our stay with only a few hours notice and staff weren’t very understanding that this was an inconvenience (though we did get a free breakfast eventually).

I felt like a chicken in a factory. Everything is streamlined

Staff is great, Cristian was very helpful in attending to all my needs. Huge hostel, services and tours might be a bit expensive, and not so much common area to hang out in, but there a really cool bar and a cinema room to hangout in. Its still a new hostel and expanding, but I do recommend it!

If the Poblado is Medellin's Soho, then the Selina is its Warhol. Covered in wonderful street art and filled with hip young folks it's the artful way to stay in Medellin. And you're on the better side of the Poblado, too - nearest the better restaurants and cafes.

Nice hostel

I really recommand this hostel. The staff was amazing and helpfull. The hostel is near a lot of restaurants and bars. I enjoyed my stay there.

At the end its not worthy. It is rather cheap but you don't received anything for what you pay

Excelente ubicación, muy ruidoso

El personal de la recepción (Santiago) es muy amable y la mayoría son muy atentos a ayudar, hay una barberia y otras amenidades que evitan el tener que salir a buscarlas, las actividades sociales (Welcome drink, Pub Crawl) son buenísimas y crean contacto y amistad rn los huéspedes, un punto a mejorar es que el edificio no cuenta con insonorización y al estar tan cerca de Provenza, el ruido es demasiado para poder dormir bien.

Excelente ubicación.

Me encantó el lugar súper limpio! El personal lindo y atento en todo momento :) sin duda volvería a hospedarme en selina! Solamente lo que se tardaba demasiado era el elevador por que solo funcionaba uno tuvimos mala suerte con eso, pero todo lo demás excelente!

Todo está increíble, ubicación, personal, estancia. Lo único que no me gustó es el horario de cafetería, cierra a las 6:00 pm y me parece muy temprano, incluso cuando uno quiere cenar o un aperitivo ya no hay servicio. Pero de ahí en más todo muy bien, si volvería a hospedarme en un Selina está es la segunda ocasión.

Disculpe, pero realmente no fue lo que esperaba.

Pésima actitud del personal

A la llegada para el check-in, Selina Medellín tenía una reserva diferente de la que había realizado y pagado. Les mostré la reserva en la app de hoteles.com, así como el correo de confirmación con el tipo de habitación que reservé pagué, pero se negaron a respetarla, a pesar de que vía telefónica un agente de hoteles.com/Expedia les confirmó el tipo de reserva que hice, a la vez que les mandó un correo para que pudieran confirmar el dato, sin embargo la persona en la recepción estuvo necia en que esa no era la información que él tenía y no podía hacer nada. Estuve más de 3 horas intentando resolver este asunto y durante todo el tiempo el personal de Selina se mostró insensible, irrespetuoso y sin ninguna intención de ayudar.

Excelente ubicación del hotel. Personal súper atento y el ambiente es de lo mejor, siempre tienen actividades para los huespedes

El hotel está en buena zona, ya que hay muchos restaurantes y bares, con respecto al hotel las camas bien, pero les hace falta limpieza, y la atención de las recepcionistas es horrible, te hablan de mala gana y sin ganas de ayudar al huésped, no te explican nada, que servicios tiene el hotel, en general pésimo servicio. La comida del restaurante es de buena calidad.

Las abitaciones no tienen televisión usan aire portátil y es demasiado ruido que dentra por las ventanas, si tú quieres descansar está no sería una buena opción , ademas que te dejan una hora esperando en la recepción no tienen control por que el que llega lo dejan esperando para atender a otros , eso fue lo que me paso a mi , tienen convenio con la agencia de viajes éxito y se les muestra el número de confirmación aún así ellos no lo aceptan hasta que no los llamen de dicha agencia , que mal !!!

Me gusto mucho el ambiente que se vive detro de hotel. Unico problema es que los botiquín esta bajo llave y dure 1 ahora para esperar que alguien lo abriera.

Solo nos hizo falta el agua. Pero entiendo que era por decisión de la ciudad el corte del agua ese fin de semana

Hermosa vista y lugar muy comodo, solo el mini split del cuarto 814 no enfría lo suficiente y y la iluminación del cuarto podria ser mejor. Esperaba un columpio o algo diferente que destacara el cuarto como en una experiencia anterior

Excelente Hostal, muy COOL y bien ubicado. Cómodo y justo por lo que pagas, volvería a quedarme ahí
