A very Venetian experience. While not a “hotel” this is more of home rental. Location is steps from Rialto Bridge, and many other locations. The staff truly made you feel at home. Will stay there again, and will in fact schedule my trip to all us to stay here.

The place was superb and beautiful, very detailed and clean. The host, Alessandra, is very friendly she greeted us warmly and prepared for us a very refreshing juice,water and cookies. The breakfast was very generous and delicious.she also gave us directions and map with nice places to see and restaurant suggestions.she went beyond expectations and booked us a beautiful terrace view. She made our stay very pleasant. Thank you very much Alessandra!

Great little spot in the middle of everything

Alessandra and her team were fantastic! The recommendations for food were superb. Rooms were great too! Recommend!

Accommodation is very unique and artfully decorated. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Area was nice and close to the restaurants and shopping areas. Something that they did not mention in their listing and you need to be aware of especially if you have lots of luggages is that the property has no elevators, and you need to climb up around 30 steps to get to the entrance of the reception. Since we had a lot of heavy luggages, we were not too happy that they did not advertise this issue on their listing. They are also having rules for limitted eating or drinking in their rooms to prevent potentially damaging the artistic decorations of the rooms. Overall, my family stayed there for one night and we were happy with our experience.

Hospitable staff

The owner and staff were incredibly hospitable and kind. Upon our arrival, when the electricity was out, they promptly provided us with a flashlight. Unfortunately, the power outage occurred again the next day. While we understand this was beyond the control of the hotel, it did impact our experience. However, Alessandra went above and beyond by offering us a breakfast to go and arranging a water taxi for us.

This hotel was in a perfect location near the Rialto bridge, shops and restaurants. Alessandra, the owner, was so helpful and very accommodating and sweet. We loved the room, it had so much character. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Venice.

A magical stay surpassing our expectations; comfortable and peaceful rooms with a tasty daily breakfast overlooking the Grand Canal. All of Venice's sites are within easy reach, and it's walkable from the train. We can thoroughly recommend Alessandra's informative, relaxed Secret Venice tour too. Highly recommend this hotel Easy walking distance to all areas of Venice. Very close to waterbus Rialto station. Room was very clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Very cold AC system and warm blankets for the bed. Bathrobes and slippers provided. Mini refrigerator in the room. Allesandra and Julia was the friendliest host. Booked us a free pass to go on top terrace of Tedechi shopping building. Great view of the rooftops of Venice. Breakfast was awesome, plenty to eat, coffee/cappuccino/tea/juice, croissants/toast, local meats and fresh fruits.

Awesome location. Wishing 3 min walk to the Rialto bridge. Great host. Room we stayed in was pretty small but cute. Not all rooms are having attached bath so pay attention while booking.

Extraordinary place to stay

We loved our stay. Family run business with extraordinary personalized service. All rooms are different and have been decorated with Murano Crystal, you feel in a fairy tale; the breakfast is delicious; we always got some treats in our room and they even packed us breakfast since we were checking out early to catch our flight. 100% recommended

Scalon del doge was my favorite hotel of our trip! The room was enormous and beautiful with a gorgeous chandelier, canal view and really high ceilings. Allesandra and her team are delightful and happily shared recommendations for restaurants and activities for us and our boys. The location is amazing - super easy access to all of Venice and close to Burger King (we traveled with 10 and 12 year old picky eaters). We slept great, felt totally safe and loved our stay. Grazie!

A beautiful gem

This small hotel is beautiful. Alessandra did a great job with the renovations. My room was so beautiful that I wished I would have stayed longer. She is very attentive and gives you all types of information. She asked about my arrival. I got to the hotel around 1030am and my room was ready. The breakfast is great and her assistant is a lovely lady. They treat you as if you are at home. I reached out to her after hours and she immediately replied to me. I will definitely come back to this gem

Amazing stay in Venice

Excellent Hotel, Staff, Breakfast and Location

This is an amazing place to stay! It is a 13 Century Palace converted into a hotel that is charming, comfortable, spotlessly clean with an amazing staff and breakfast complete with fresh made croissants each morning. They communicated with us before arrival and even alerted us to the fact that there was a waterbus strike on our day of arrival. They provided alternative ways to get to the hotel and even phoned us when we were a bit later than expected to be sure we were not lost. We were given a map of Venice complete with tips on things to do and restaurants they recommended. They helped us with water taxi reservations for an early morning commute to the airport. Breakfast items and a electric tea kettle were put in our room the day prior to leaving because of our 6 am departure. All in all we would highly recommend the Scalon del Doge for your next visit. We loved it!

There is absolutely nothing NOT to love about the Scalone del Doge! Perfect, central but quiet location, breathtaking views, clean and unique rooms. Alessandra and team were just wonderful and gave our stay a one of a kind and personal touch! Our stay was absolutely amazing. In case you would like to feel a real Venice vibe you must stay there. Alexandra gave us very useful advice regarding sightseeing, so we visited unforgettable places.

Our family had a wonderful time staying here at this beautiful and ornate hotel. Located centrally to all the shops and local eateries was fantastic! The staff, especially the owner was amazing - so very helpful & friendly! Excellent choice to stay here, highly recommend!!

Scalon del Doge is a truly unique hotel in a truly unique city

We got a personalized powerpoint orientation on our arrival, greeted with coffee and cookies. Natalie (?was that her name) was fabulous. Would recommend to any to stay here; rooms are over the top (Murano glass) and location is central!

From the booking to the end of our visit Alexandra and her team have been marvellous Most welcoming and all encompassing Beautiful breakfast (freshly bake croissants daily) When we said the next day we couldn’t have breakfast as had to leave early for our flight…..we was provided with a packed lunch that could feed us for the day Yes there is a staircase to climb to the property, however once in this classic hotel it’s worth it Hairdryer was brilliant and loved by my daughter (thick hair normally takes forever to dry) Felt a very luxurious stay in a peaceful setting…..just wish it was for longer Any questions….. the girls help you straight away, printing off information or explaining places/ things to do on a map/video Marvellous, thank you again

The hotel is beautifully decorated. They tell you the history of the property when you check in. Front desk is very happy to give touring advice. They also gave us tickets to a lovely view terrace that we would have missed out on.

Alessandra has the absolute best hotel in Venice. The word “Amazing” doesn’t even do it justice. From the friendly check-in to the other-worldly room… I’m still in awe. The level of service and attention to detail is unmatched. Do yourself a favor if you’re ever in Venice. STAY HERE!

It’s a bed and breakfast. So expect that… but very much in Venice style. There was a lot of thought reproducing the decor. Everyone works to make your stay the best possible. It’s pretty, clean and you can tell they are proud of it. There is nothing I can say but positive things. The location is great. Very close to shopping and restaurants. The history of the place is also worth learning about.

Everything about this property is excellent! The rooms are beautifully decorated, the staff is extremely attentive and kind, and the location is convenient to everything. I will definitely recommend Salon del Doge to my friends and family!

We had an amazing experience at Scalon del Doge. Alessandra and her colleague were extremely professional and helpful, on arrival we even received an audiovisual presentation of activities we could do in Venice. Additionally, Alessandra helpfully made activity and restaurant reservations on our behalf. Our early arrival was accomodated such that we were able to check in hours ahead of the scheduled time. Also, we were able to store our bags safely while we continued to explore after check out. The room was exactly as pictured and the compact bathroom appears to have been recently refurbished to a high standard. We were also pleased that the room was extremely clean. An added bonus was that breakfast, of our choice, was included and the dining room looked out onto the grand canal.

Our host is a tour guide and prebooked a lovely rooftop tour as well as a water cruise. Fantastic English.

The only place we will stay in Venice:)

The Salon del Doge is amazing. The service was absolutely incredible from check-in to check-out. The family who owns the hotel was super helpful and friendly. The decor and vibe is exactly what you want when you come to stay in Venice. This is by far our favorite place to stay anywhere in Europe. We can't wait to come back!

Great location, great stay!

Fantastic stay for our family! Alessandra was just wonderful. Breakfast each morning was top notch, and beds and pillows were comfortable. Also, really one of the best and most central locations imaginable! We walked everywhere.

The place had a nice view, centrally located however it was not a super relaxing place and the walls were thin and more cramped than in the photos.

This place was amazing! Service was incredible- any questions we had were promptly answered. Breakfast was delicious and came with a beautiful view of the canal. We can’t speak highly enough about the service, the ladies were wonderful with everything!

Perfect b&b for last leg of our honeymoon! Perfect location right in the heart of venice, 3minutes walk from the rialto bridge. What makes thisnplace so great, however, is alessandra and her staff. They were so kind, welcoming and knowledgable. 100% recommend if you arent interested in a big hotel feel and want superb service with a perfect location pn the canal!

It is a beautiful hotel super clean excellent service, unique, impeccable and my room was similar to rooms of a royal palace. I was feeling so proud to recommend this hotel to everyone. This hotel is close to al important points to visit in Venice 💙

A 3 star that feels 5 star!

Our room was very comfortable, good bed & shower, plus little extras like robes & slippers. Location wise, it is a dream; you are 2 minutes from Rialto, yet down a hidden alleyway away from the noise and crowds. In the evenings, you can sit on what feels like a private pier right in the heart of Venice, and watch sunset over the Grand Canal. Breakfast was average and coffee could be better by Italian standards, but the canal view does compensate. Plus, I have a severe peanut allergy, and they really did go the extra mile to accommodate by sourcing special breads etc. for me. As for the team there, Alessandra is the perfect hostess, so welcoming and full of wonderful tips on how to explore Venice as a local. If I was to nitpick, the only other minor item that needs improving are the manners of the younger staff member, who could have been a little more hospitable at times!

Romantic getaway

This was an amazingly renovated B&B with top notch service. Alessandra and her family were wonderful in helping us with advice and information about their fine city of Venice. Communication prior to our arrival was amazing, and made finding their place easy. The room was elegantly decorated in old Venetian style, and their location just steps away from the Rialto Bridge made getting around the entire city a breeze. Highly recommended for anyone who likes a quiet romantic experience.

The staff here are extraordinarily nice and helpful. The hotel is beautifully decorated. You really feel like you are in an old Venetian house. My room was comfortable and the location can't be beat.

Paradise Retreat

Fabulous place. The hostess was very attentive and called to check on us when we didnt check in on time. Upon arrival we were offered refreshments and then given tips on where to visit. Unfortunately we could only stay one night but would love to visit again. She even made us a take away breakfast for our travels. The only concern which a traveler should be aware of is that this wonderful place is up some very steep stairs - difficult with bags. Small price for such luxury but if you have bad knees it's a toughie.

Hidden Gem

Outstanding 5 star stay! Perfect location near the Rialto Bridge, with a view of the Grand Canal from its breakfast room. Family run with special attention to each of their guests: Help planning self guided tours,; leaving treats and cold water in your room; wonderful breakfasts to include a breakfast bag left in our room to take with us with an early morning check out; opulent Venetian decor - I easily could add more. Truly a hidden gem.

Alessandra, you and your staff are amazing, Thank you for everything! Stay here, you will not regret it. A 5 min walk from the Rialto bridge, right on the Grand Canal. We would absolutely stay here again and again. I almost cried when we had to leave & we were only there for 3 days.

This beautiful, historic hotel is in an excellent location to all there is to experience in Venice! The staff is wonderful, giving detailed information about the city and its many activities, restaurants and history. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, and is served in a room overlooking the canal. The staff really goes the extra mile to ensure your stay is memorable and magical. We will definitely stay here again, and recommend it to everyone we know who will be visiting Venice. Everything about this hotel is perfect!!

What a fabulous unique property. Excellent location, clean, fun and comfortable. Our host, Alessandra was amazing. Upon arriving at Scalon del Doge, Alessandra spent time welcoming us, proving espresso and pastries and reviewing our plans while staying in Venice. She made a couple of great recommendations and even made dinner reservations for us at an incredible restaurant overlooking the water. Next time we visit Venice, we will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic reception on our arrival. After check in the girls sat with us to offer ideas for our visit. Room was all that was expected with the stylish decor of Venice. Right in the middle of Venice close to Rialto bridge so close to everything.

Warm and welcoming

Alessandra called me to say my room was ready early before the normal check in time. When I arrived Eugenia helped me check in, offered us refreshments and sat down with us to explain where to go and recommended places they eat, shortcuts to the best locations and sights. A great warm and welcoming staff. Our room was more than comfortable and quiet, even though it’s just off the Grand Canal and a smaller canal. Since We had an early morning flight and we would miss the regular breakfast in the hotel, Alessandra packed us a huge breakfast with croissants, biscottis, fruit, yogurt and drinks to eat on the go...The staff were wonderful and we look forward to returning!

We were met by Alice, Alessandra couldn’t be there when we arrived but we met her the day after... what a beautiful small hotel!!! Location is perfect, very centric but not on the Main Street. I sent some pictures of our room to my mom and she asked me if we were staying in a palace! Each room is decorated in a different color with furniture to match, amazing Murano chandeliers and very Venetian decorations... we loved it! There is a bar/restaurant downstairs and it could get noisy and busy on the weekends, they have live music and the food was good! It didn’t bother us. The continental breakfast was good and served in a room overlooking the Grand Canal. Alice gave us some great information for best food and gelato around! Keep in mind that this is a 4 room hotel, no 24 hour reception or room service... was not a problem for us at all! Will definitely stay again! Highly recommend
