I appreciated the warm welcome upon entering the hotel by the first receptionist. I was offered an upgrade for a nominal fee. Upon entering my room, the bathroom had been used. There were dirty towels, garbage in the receptacle and dirty sink and counter in the bathroom. The television didn't allow me to use my Netflix, prime Disney etc. there was a bag of takeout in the hallway (not mine)that sat for three days until I placed it on the chambermaid cart so it wouldn't be left. After requesting refresh services, the counters were left dirty.

I was there for 6 nights and housekeeping only cleaned my room once, and that was after I asked them to. One of two elevators was broken during a time when kids hockey teams were there causing long wait times for the elevator. The adjacent restaurant was closed for breakfast every morning despite all the signs in the hotel advertising otherwise. When I checked out and planned to share the feedback, there wasn’t any staff at the front desk and guests were backed up waiting to check out, so I just dropped my room cards in the express checkout box and left.

The hotel wasn't anything special. The room had a funky smell when we walked in. We opened the patio door to air it out. I booked a king size bed but the bed did not appear to be a king. I called the front desk to ask if there was a mistake, apparently I booked a "standard" king room. I was not aware there were different in the sizes of king beds. We were disappointed and were sure it was a Queen room we had. I booked it using Expedia, I have never had an issue using them in the past, we usually get what we book. We won't be going back to this hotel anytime soon.

The main areas of the hotel are clean and staff seems friendly. Prior to arrival I requested a room upgrade, if available direct with the hotel and they granted the request which was nice! Our room was spacious and clean when we arrived although lacking a few toiletries. My area of disappointment lay in the housekeeping when staying more than one night. I stayed in May for two nights, put the hanger on my door requesting housekeeping at 9am, and when I got back to the room at 10pm, the hanger was still there. I assumed they were busy and thought it was a 'one-off'. I called the front desk and requested the items I needed. Pretty much the same happened this time. They did come in the room though, but only replaced the toilet paper? Nothing else? Since Covid, it seems many hotels charge more to stay but do less. There's no longer service if you stay 2 to 3 days; you have to 'request' it and at this hotel it's spotty at best. Having a clean room may not be important to all as it's 'just a place to sleep' but it's important to me. I don't think I'll stay here again.

It was a beautiful hotel with a great location! The pool was quite small and my kids couldn't get in due to the amount of people. For a hotel this size, the pool should be a lot bigger to accommodate.

Not a great experience, hotel was very noisy. People talking and partying in the hallway and kids running up and down. Room was not very clean, fingers prints on the walls, dirt on the floor. Was disappointed.

On a 4 day trip to participate with a Youth Rally Have stayed here before, and have had an awesome experience I need a room with a Kitchen, and this one had all I needed…only one tiny complaint…the room was very tiny, and awkward to get around in. We will stay there again next year!!

Had booked a meeting room to accommodate 50 guests. Upon arrival, I was told the large room was not available and had to downsize the boardroom. My guests and guest speakers were uncomfortable in the cramped conditions for the day. Otherwise, I was very satisfied with the room accommodations and comfort as were the 2 guest rooms I supplied for some of my team.

Not clean. Just because the walls have wallpaper, doesn’t mean you don’t clean it. Loads of silverfish in bathroom. They should have paid me for extermination services from the ones i killed. Praying none made it into my luggage. I alerted hotel staff twice. There was no point.

AC was loud and didn’t blow cold. Rain dripped on fittings outside causing a ruckus

Very clean and spacious, lovely staff and lobby. Unclear breakfast options aside from one sign in the lobby. TV had only few channels that you had to click through manually to see what was on, no option for streaming or mirroring. Had to watch TV on my phone.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The suite we had was updated and perfect for our stay. Plenty of walkable options for dining in the area. We will definitely stay here next time when visiting the Ottawa area.

This hotel was unexpectedly excellent. I had to drive to Ottawa for an overnight emergency and ended up sleeping here. We didn’t spend too much time in the hotel but the bed was extremely comfortable and we had a fantastic sleep. Also loved the EV charger in the parking lot and the complimentary tea.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Was upgraded to a suite and it was amazing. Will book again.

This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The first thing I noticed was how amazing the lobby smells and the unique design choices. Our room was the cleanest hotel room ever and everything was high quality and luxurious. I am spoiled now and will always want to stay at the Sandman. Fari at the front desk had amazing customer service and was able to give us an early check-in to get ready for the event we were going to. I hope she gets to read this and more importantly, her boss!

The room was not cleaned at all. There was lots of hair on the bathroom floor, a clear indication that the bathroom was not cleaned!
