Was a very nice and relaxing vacation the beach was AMAZING. no seaweed. I loved that water sports were included with the resort. The pool was smaller but honestly we were at the beach the whole time anyways. Food was difficult because the only thing mid day was perla (which was always out of something & took forever) or pizza so if your there for multiple days it can just get old.

I liked the consistency of the Sandals brand. It has changed very little over 20 years. The resort staff however have become less attentive unless you have butler service. They were not rude by any means, but if you asked for small requests that were readily available, you may or may not receive them.

Our first time in Jamaica and a Sandals we loved it. We had a standard room, comfy bed and cleaned daily got extra shampoo/soap when I asked for it. Dining options were great, very friendly and helpful staff. Food was really good, we will be back in 2026!

My wife & I had a great time at Sandals Negril. We arrived just two days after a bad storm had hit, but the staff had the place back in shape literally overnight. Service was wonderful, the beach very nice, and there were plenty of nice guests to have fun with. The food was ok to good, but within expectations. The breakfast and morning buffets offered some good selections, but the quality of the dinners places, while each enjoyable form a fun perspective, varied from a culinary POV. We enjoyed Brava, with the small plates the best, along with the Sundowner. The Japanese restaurant was a blast - with a great sing-along chef - but the food kind of mediocre. All in all, though, this Sandals is recommended by us. It is a great vacation for a couple looking to unwind under no pressure. Irie!

Food and staff were good. Drink selection was limited with low quality alcohol and low quality sodas. The swimming pool was cold with bugs in it. It was great to have paddle boards, snorkeling, sailing and water sports included. The beach chairs were mostly reserved every day even at 8:00 am it was limited selection. We liked walking to the Beaches resort and enjoyed their similar facilities. We found the price was a bit high compared to many other trips we’ve taken.

Some of the staff were standouts; bartenders Chris and Brendon, dive team members Emron and Robin. The entertainment team were great, especially for the dated equipment and staging that they have to use. Though they should use more travelling shows to up the quality and variety. We enjoyed all of the restaurants, but the breakfast and lunch buffet were a little lacking. The resort is a little dated, but fairly well maintained. Could use more staff or do a better job of picking up used glasses, trash and dishes. Probably our biggest complaint are the number of chairs tied up by the butlers that never get used all day long. You should not have to get up at 6am to reserve a spot, and then sit and see empty chairs all day long that were claimed and never used. Loved the waterskiing, snorkeling, scuba, Hobie cats and paddle boards, all included. Great beach, can walk forever. Overall we had a great stay, but would not rate it as our all time favorite resort.

Sandals is by far the best resort ive ever stayed at. I travel to the Caribbean one or twice a year and this was my first time at a Sandals resort. No other resort offers the amenities like they do. Snorkeling, tubing, skiing, private boat, kayaking, mini sailing, ect all included in the price. Plus airport transfers. Rooms are up to date property is beautiful plus big so you're not on top of others. The saff were great as well super friendly and helpful all seam to love their job. Cant imagine ever staying at another brand resort again.

The Rooms are in back conditions, the air is contaminated with mildew smell, I couldn't sleep the first two nights, we were changed rooms on three occasions and every time was a different problem, AC leaking on our heads, no hot water in the showers, sink dripping water by the sides, you name it!. Although one of the managers helped us to accommodate on the third day my blood pressure went up and my pulse was supper high( 197) We had to cancel our stay and come back home straight to an emergency room. A panned dream trip( seven days) that ended in ( three days) Nightmares! Never going there again. Simple to describe, A 5-star hotel that seems like a Motel, we named it Jamaica Motel in Miami called 8.

Resort was overall good. One night there was no water for a shower. Breakfast was below average at Bayside. The lunch and dinner options at the other restaurants were very good. The habachi was our favorite dinner. Definately a more mature crowd so not as lively. Bartenders were great and were heavy pourers. Need to get up very early to claim chairs on the beach unless you have the butler service. Overall we were pleased. 4/5 stars.

This is NOT a 5 star resort. It’s closer to a 3 star... What is shown on the website is NOT what you will be getting. CONSTRUCTION... Really Sandals. SHAME ON YOU for not having this on your website. And still charging Full Price Cons 1. Construction on both sides of the resort... Jack hammers, grinding, generators running... you could not hear the ocean. 2. Our Tap in the bathroom was broken. No cold water. Only a trickle of BOILING hot water. I had to brush my teeth and wash hands in the shower or scold my hands in the sink.. We told 8 different workers. no one came to fix it 3. We drank our red wine in our room. Turndown service took the empty bottle. The next day I left a tip and note to please restock our wine since we booked the premium club room. They left a note that said if we want another bottle of red we need to provide them with the empty bottle we drank..... But they took it during turndown. This happened more than once 4. Concierge doesn’t answer the phone. You have to call multiple times and sometimes they called back 5. Pizza place had no pepperoni all week 6. Bea

My wife and I returned from a 6 nights at the resort. The room was really nice and comfy, the beach amazing with beautiful sunsets. Some of them were really nice people like Chris at the Piano bar. The Cons, starting with most of the staff. At the main bar, bartenders were rude and actually the last day I have to say something to one of them because the way she talked to my wife. WIFI was really bad so trying to speak to our children a lot of time was almost impossible. There are construction in the resort which is not in their website so you can hear the noise from 8-8 everyday, so relaxing at the beach not so much. Few guys at the water sport also rude. Same at the Japanese Restaurant, one of the ladies approach my wife very rude manner to move out of the Teppanyaki table for our desert. We were shocked. Then another lady explained to us that dessert is served somewhere else. The food was really disappointed, not variety of tropical fruits. I asked at the Italian restaurant for the Antipasto and they gave me just vegetables, no meat for it. Tiger Shrimps were frozen shrimps. No Japanese beer at Japanese restaurant. Last 2 nights fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. We called many times to front desk to have somebody to turn it off. It took them hours so somebody to show up. This was our 3er Sandals experience, and first time we experience something like it. Definitely not a 5 Star or Luxury Hotel.

This is a 2-3 star hotel at best. We stayed at Sandals Negril on our honeymoon for three nights in December. The grounds and pool are extremely run down. The beach is not like it is in the photos - the water is not crystal clear and you are harassed by people selling stuff all day. The room is average but is cleaned well each day. The food at each restaurant is poor/flavourless and the entertainment is sub-par. The service was okay but a lot of the staff were not attentive or overly helpful when you asked questions. There is no relaxed holiday vibe and everyone (including other guests) just seemed depressed. Overall we were very very disappointed.

For what I paid, it did not meet our expectations. The beach was amazing! The resort staff are friendly, but the service from the kitchen is very slow. Dinners took on average over 2 hours from seating to the end of the dessert. There is no quick dining option (buffet) other than in the morning. A lot of the food on the menu was also out of stock. Typically at least 1 item was out of stock each time I ordered.

Husband and I just returned from a stay at Sandals Negril. We loved the attentiveness of the staff and the care that goes into making sure that guests have a great stay. Staff were all amazing! The photoshop team was so helpful and friendly - including Jevough and Jervis who did some photos for us. Seline at the bistro was also very friendly and provided excellent service. Garwin from entertainment provided us with a tour of the resort and made it so fun while providing us with the information we needed. Food was also great and exceeded my expectations for an all inclusive resort. Would highly recommend sandals Negril!

We loved the beach, the water sports, the food, the pools, the service and that everyone was always ready to help you and tend to any need or request you may have. Special thanks to Marvin the lifeguard who went out of his way to help us with one of our requests. The hotel is clean and everything was great! They also provide transportation to/from the airport and have a "no tip" policy which means you don't have to worry about bringing extra cash.

We loved our stay! Food was great and we enjoyed scuba diving. Keron did amazing job with our photographs and went an extra mile to make sure we get our pictures in time. Also, private candlelight dinner was amazing. Veneesha was our server and she did a great job. I would like to mention one detail though. Resort employee entered our room without knocking and my husband was undressed. The lady said she wanted to decorate the room for our anniversary and she would be back later. She never came back to decorate. We addressed that to Front Desk associate and we were ensured that the issue would be taken care of. However, it was not.

Great staff, but poor quality experience resort!

I was very impressed with the staff. They were always so pleasant and well trained! Top 10 for sure!! However, I was disappointed with the hotel experience, such as dining experience and menu options. The Sandals in Negril definitely needs renovations, the bed wasn’t comfortable and restroom was very small!! We stayed at 5352 “concierge level”. Price and quality wasn’t fair. Anyway, I won’t come at the Sandals Negril.

Sundowner crystal lagoon swim up butler suites!!

Wadea and Myron the butlers! Lanique at the desk, Delroy and the dive shop group. All the staff, all deserve better pay and recognition. By far the best sandals in Caribbean and a shame we can’t tip them Swim up lagoon and butler service at worth it. A nice area on the left and far side of the hotel. The beach has constant security and beach vendors to assist you if required. The food in the main and a la carte restaurants are fantastic and breakfast is delicious . We did move from a butler crystal lagoon swim up to a normal room, which was not beachfront but one above. The WiFi did not work and it was required for work. No WiFi for 6 days aka desk said they were looking into it many times but nada. Only bad glitch. Otherwise, sandals went above and beyond. The lady (keisha?) Novia, Ann-Marrie all were so friendly polite and they assisted in helping us get a new flights back after ours was cancelled (informed us within 30 mins of a new flight opening up) that is above and beyond

You’d be hard pressed to find a better option in Negril as Sandals pays attention to the most minute detail and went above and beyond to keep us safe in regards to Covid...The food was fantastic and the liquor top shelf as well.Honestly the only issue I could possibly have were that the rooms could use an update and the bed and pillows were extremely uncomfortable I stayed in the honeymoon suite sans Butler.. I would stay again

We arrived with hopes of a relaxing vacation ,which started out with no warning in a vacation package that from Kingston you have a 5 hour drive. That alone took up a whole day, and we had to rebook a flight from a different airport for the return trip to not lose more time. The biggest swim up pool bar, which was a huge selling point for us, was under complete construction and closed, and not just that nothing but jack hammers and noise all day long, and continual construction all over the facility. Nothing like trying to relax with a hammer in your ear. So overall, very underwhelming and extremely disappointing.

Our hotel room

Our hotel room was very small, smelling like mold and not so cleaned and the bed was uncomfortable. After the first night, we woke up with bug bites in our body. We believe they were bug beds. We asked to have our room changed, but they gave us a bunch of excuses including the one that the hotel was filled. I will never go back to sandals. We paid $700 per night. This is unbelievable!

Perfect resort

This was our first time to Jamaica and I'm glad we chose sandals negril. It was our honeymoon and we couldn't be happier with everything from food to drinks to accommodations. There's an array of activities if you choose or you can just enjoy relaxation on the chairs on the beach! We stayed the first week of October and weather was perfect for us- low to mid 80's!

3 Star Hotel at Best !!!

Hotel is run down. They wouldn't upgrade us a Expedia VIP Gold. Put us in a old room, near the main road. Very noisy. Carpet had many large stains. Furniture all scratched up, cracked glass on dresser. Asked everyday for bottled water in our room, never got it. All food was avg. not 5 star at all ! Staff were very nice, people at front desk, didn't care about anything ! Hotel is located in a bay , where all the charter boats are on moorings, so no more than 30 out from to beach to swim in , Max 3 ft deep. That was ridiculous!!!

Great Place

If I had one thing that I absolutely had to complain about was the onsite photographers, very nice people doing their job but I found them a tad annoying and the cost of photos a little pricey.... this is a great service for honeymooners or for a special celebration but not for the typical vacationers...

Perfect location!

Staff, location, and local tours really made this an enjoyable trip. The resort itself was old, however, the location, staff and locals were great! The facilities and food was average but the bars and local entertainment made up for it. Overall, our trip was good! Best part was meeting and interacting with the local people. "Respect Man!"

Not Impressed with Sandals Negril- Avoid!!!

Not impressed with Sandals at all and most likely will not ever go to another one! I couldn't believe how terrible the overall experience was, I thought Sandals was supposed to be a nice resort! The staff is friendly but that's about all I can say that is good. The food was just ok, the drinks were just ok, the Wi-Fi was spotty and the beach was pretty to look at but not nice to swim in because its so shallow and has way too much seaweed. The room was decorated about 5 years ago and it is starting to show; the bathroom tiles were broken and rug under the bed was so disgusting that I jumped from the tile to the bed to avoid touching it! Much of the resort is in need of repairs, especially the pools! My husband and I came to Sandals Negril for my sister's wedding and this was the 1st time we have visited a Sandals and maybe we excepted too much.... This resort should have been half of the price it was- what happened to you get what you pay for?

The best hotel in Jamaica by far!

From the moment we arrived the people at Sandals made sure we were happy. Having everything included even water sports was awesome. Plus the fact that it was adults only made it even better. The food and entertainment was amazing .Every night Sandals had a activity for entertainment. Beach dinner party's to Broadway style shows.

Lovely stay

We had a wonderful time, amazing people/staff, great entertainment, fantastic activities (Water: Pool Volleyball, kayak, sailing, tubing, water skiing, bar in the pool, etc...Non water: soccer, beach volleyball, cooking, talent shows, etc.) But you have to understand the food is not good at all, every restaurant at the very best has average food!

Extremely Disappointing stay at Sandals

Check-in process was very smooth and great. We were able to check-in early. The room was in the newly renovated quarters and was spacious. The refrigerator was not fully stocked. We also found that the AC was not working and reported to the front desk to take care of it right away. After multiple attempts the AC was not fixed and we were offered a new room. Our new room was noticeably smaller compared to the original room and looked like a downgrade. Refrigerator was not stocked and empty. The room was definitely not move in ready. There were multiple issues with the room: Lights in the bathroom - around the mirror went out after 10 seconds of turning up. No glasses and cups in room. Dirty floors with stains all over No hand towels Lukewarm water in shower Fan made rattling noise when running at max speed AC remote was missing Dirty table tops We made multiple phone calls to the front-desk and had to talk to someone in person at the front desk to grab their attention and plead them to take care of the room. After much back and forth, the front desk Mgr. said they were going to provide us a choice of Couples Massage or Dinner on the beach for two for all the inconvenience. We were happy, but we still wanted the other things to be taken care of apart from the offer. After choosing dinner on the beach, they assured us that they will take care of things in the room that were reported. Things were still not fixed and we requested our room be changed but none was available.

Christmas in Negril- Sandals

My husband and I enjoyed our Christmas at Sandals Negril. The hotel staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The accommodation was awesome as our room was located on the first floor right at the beach. Definitely recommend staying here to all couples looking for a relaxing time in the sun!

More stress than vacay

Let's start with the fact that I booked three rooms at another hotel through Hotels.com and we found out in April that the hotel was sold and no longer taking guests for the month of August. It took 3 months to finalize relocation and my entire group was spread out amongst three different resorts. There was confusion with meeting up and the front desk clerks kept putting people in rooms at the sister resort because my name was on all rooms. CONFUSION ALL AROUND. More work than vacation in the beginning but all in all the service was great and so was the food. The Hotels.com staff and wait time on the phone made this particular trip stressful.

Paradise

This resort was the best I've been to thus far! I'm a frequent traveler so that's a lot to be said. The staff is constantly cleaning and always very pleasant and informative. The only thing that could have been better is the food and that's a matter of opinion because the other people with me enjoyed it! And let's not forget the beautiful white sand beaches. The views can't beat!

Vacation

Stayed at Beaches Negril Resort and Spa for 3 nights in May 22, 2015. Was scheduled to stay for 4 night but due to delays in traveling on US Airway, flight was delayed from BWI and missed a connecting flight and lost a day in Jamacia. This was an issued I had to take up with US Airway. My husband and I stayed in a room with a king bed. The room did not include a chair and desk. The room was very small in comparison to the price. The hotel price is way overpriced for the sizes of the room. The room was clean but ants were in the bathroom. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The staff was very professional and always speaking and manage to learn your name. The staff were very easy to work with and accommodating, always available to assist you without waiting to get their attention. The staff is what made this vacation a pleasant experience. This resort is perfect for families with small kids. If you are a couple and desire more luxury hotel/resort this is not the place. The food and drinks were good. Maybe the high price was mainly for family traveling with children. The security staff was always on point, kept track of your going and coming to the resort. The grounds of the resort was neat and free of trash. Went to Jamacia to attend a friend's wedding. Had a wonderful time and did plenty of relaxing. The staff was awesome and very professional and approachable. First time in Jamacia so I do not know much about the local area. The resort appear to be more in a secluded area or a quieter part of Jamacia. It was a 90 minutes ride from the airport but the ride was comfortable. If the room were larger with a chair then I would have rated the value for money and comfort of room higher.

Fantastic

We have stayed at several resorts that charge over $1,000 per night that do not provide the level of services, quality, comfort, food, entertainment or quality of staff that we found here. We saw all the pictures on the internet of how calm and beautiful the beach was but we expected it to be less, as we assumed they only showed pictures on the best days. We stayed for 11 nights and every day looked just like the pictures. We really enjoyed the water sports and the staff. Particularly Big Papa & Robert in water sports, Keron, Ferguson, and TBone on photography, Shadana, OShane, Jacqueline, Sasha Ann and Rickey.

Sandals is for

The only redeming quality of this hotel is its beach. Otherwise, enjoy empty-nesters behaving badly; under-seasoned or (under/over)cooked food; and the worst level of service. That level of service was supposed to have been enhanced by the "butler" assigned to our suite. We saw our butlers maybe twice a day when they would bring us a drink on the beach - which was nothing special since the bar was located about 30 feet away from our chairs. If you have no imagination and money to blow, Sandals is for you; because there is no return on investment. P.s. If you do decide to go, remember that the pictures they take cost an arm and a leg.

Perfect for the unimaginative traveller

If you are looking for an authentic experience or are "a real traveller" then don't stay at Sandals. The food will underwhelm you. The butler service is a sham. The resort doesn't care about its staff nor does it care about the customer -- All-inclusive is not deal at Sandals, Negril. If you are a tasteless, empty nester that lacks imagination and wants to go somewhere for a week and behave badly, then Sandals may be right for you.

Very relaxing at the beach or pool. Staff we're very accommodating and we really enjoyed the snorkeling. Rooms weren't sound proof by any means and the building itself definitely isn't new but very nice otherwise! We will definitely continue staying at sandals resorts in the future. Also, loved walking/running along the beach!!!

Great Getaway

The perfect place for a beachfront vacation. All water sports included enjoyed the snorkeling and water tubing. Several pools and hot tubs for choice. Restaurants were excellent. I appreciated the shade trees on the beach so I wasn't exposed to the sun all day. The service people were all nice to be around and very dedicated toward making the stay enjoyable. The room was nice and the staff kept it well supplied with clean towels. The bed was a little high for my preference, had to "jump" into bed. Will definitely plan to return.

Don't waste your time or money

We were really excited for our trip, which was to attend my best friend's wedding and have a fun getaway. From the Montego Bay airport, shuttle to the resort, the resort itself, and the HORRIBLE food, pretty much everything was very disappointing. The worst part by far was the food. We were expecting at LEAST fresh fish and fruit. There wasn't a single meal (from their many restaurants) that was remotely tasty. It all tasted and looked like it came from a can. If it weren't for the fact that we spent SO much money on the all inclusive food at the resort, we would have tried any other restaurant somewhere else in Negril. We paid $200 extra a night for a "club level" room that was "on the beach" with "butler service." The room although was facing the direction of the ocean, did not have a view of the water as it was blocked entirely by a building. The room was very old, dingy, and was split in to two levels. The bottom level merely the door into the room, and you had a walk up a very old, wooden, spiral staircase, that was very dangerous. The "butler service" was a sheet of paper explaining what this entailed, which was a few extra drinking activities that were offered on off days that we weren't even there for. The resort itself is very small, on a small stretch of beach, small pool, with a staff that was either too pushy or not helpful at all.

Great time staff was awesome

Had a great time, went scuba diving, knee boarding, and kayaking, in the water. Kamar was a great diving instructor, as well as all the rest of the staff on the scuba diving adventure, Smiley the camera man was one of my favorites, always smiling and happy about everything, not to mention taking great pictures in and out of the water. Must also note Ian was the manager at the barefoot grill where the food was great and or waiter Jeffery was really funny and a great server, we ate there at least 4 times during our trip and must say the reason is because Ian treats you like royalty and the food is great, not to mention I don't think he ever sleeps because I ate late at night and also saw him in the breakfast buffet early the next morning. My final and favorite staff member there was Michael at the bar. He made the best drinks, almost like he could read your mind on what you want and kept up with our main need (keeping a cold drink in our hand). Great resort, great time.

Sandals Negril

The staff was great, food was good, activites were great. I did expect more for the money spent. It was a nice place, just thought the price reflects a superior place. The rooms are a bit small, the workmanship in the hotel a bit off. The food was good, but not great. the water is green but again, not like the great blues and greens I've seen. the beach sand was more like dirt. I probably wouldn't go back.
