Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price We had high expectations for Royalton Splash Punta Cana, given the price, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short. While the hotel does have a convenient location, the quality and service did not justify the cost. The room was poorly maintained, with outdated furniture. For the rate charged, we expected much better amenities. The staff, while polite, seemed overwhelmed and unable to address concerns promptly. Delayed housekeeping and lack of response to a complaint. Overall, Royalton Splash Punta Cana feels overpriced for what it offers. We’ve stayed at much better hotels for significantly less. We wouldn’t recommend this place unless they drastically improve their standards or lower their rates.

No Hot Water: Throughout my stay, the property failed to provide hot water. Despite reporting the issue, no effective steps were taken to resolve it, causing significant discomfort. 2. Staff Attitude: The staff members were neither courteous nor respectful during my stay. Their lack of professionalism and unhelpful attitude made the experience even worse. These issues completely disrupted my trip and made my stay unpleasant. I kindly request that you investigate this matter with the property and consider compensating me for the inconvenience I endured.

The property is fine but the people are not able to communicate properly. No elevators for 3rd floor rooms. Entertainment system sucks. The bars have very long wait time. Definitely not recommend.
Prior to arrival, I read numerous reviews about this resort. I knew that it was not a top of the line resort, however considering that I was traveling with my kids and this was their first all inclusive experience I decided to go. The resort had a lot of activities for everyone even though you had to take the trolly to the next resort, which wasn’t far. I did not like the customer service or the limited food options. I feel like the front desk needs to do better at explaining how to use the app to book reservations for dinner. Also, they tell you to use the app to request items, yet they do not respond. Also, 24 hours service does not show up at times. I wouldn’t say do not go but do not have high expectations. The bartenders around the resort are very responsive and friendly.
The Lobby is like a motel. The rooms smell bad. Everywhere smell bad. The room service is not appropriate. I got allergy because of the bad smell. They tried to fix the smell with coffee and disinfectant and it was crazy. It was worse. The AC was not working. That room has to be completely close. The food was not good either. Too much money, not worthy.

The propert is very nice. Majority of the staff is super friendly, very courteous. The food in the buffet is pretty good. The best restaurants we the Italian and the steak house. The seafood and Mexican restaurants were very basic. The food was also pretty salty. I never left the property so i cannot comment on the areas around the property

This property has all the amenities to be a great hotel. But the staff and unwillingness to be helpful or even friendly totally destroyed the experience. The staff are extremely loud in the hallways early in the mornings starting at 7. We did not get any days to sleep in. They also were doing construction jackhammering at 830 am It was also very apparent that we were served last and treated very differently because we did not speak Spanish.

It's very bad hotel all the food in the hotel you cannot eat it.It's very bad and he mix all the food together. You can find inside the cheese pork.Or you can find, like other thing inside it like it's very dirty all the room very bad.I change three room and it's still very bad he has just the water park, not bad and all the rest Very bad doesn't have any activity for kids doesn't have anything in the night. As an activity for all the activity for him just dancing. And I prefer, you put it some radio in your home and you can dance better in there.

The dining options were limited to 3 restaurants and always unavailable. The shows were very low budget, the food was below average. Staff is nice. Definitely not Marriott caliber. Rooms were remodeled, beds comfortable, water park is great. WiFi good too. The biggest issues is that the resort is advertised as 1 big resort with 2 properties where restaurants are shared which is not the case. Advertised as 14 restaurants but both sides barely had 6 open restaurants which were always booked! We were at same property 9 years ago and food, staff and entertainment was way better then. Resort is best for the kids because it’s geared for them. They also advertised arcade, bowling, trampoline and staff had no idea what that was. Definitely not going back again. I also mentioned I was a Bonvoy member and the reception said oh well because I booked through Expedia.

You need to download the app for reservations for the restaurants and they were not free. The Buffett restaurant was very nasty the food is terrible. There is not much to do as stated. Also the pictures on the site are misleading. The room was old with black gnats constantly inside the bathroom. If you speak the language you are treated better. If not and you are a darker skin person you are ignored. I had to constantly ask for silverware and cups to drink with, once we was seated. I will not ever return. I should of just stayed in the USA and had a better time.
Nice property and friendly staff. Not particularly luxurious. The food at the buffet was repetitive but the ala carte restaurants were good. Entertainment was okay. We were there for a few days and would have gotten bored if we stayed any longer. We felt that we paid for what we got, a nice place for an okay deal.
I give a 10 to the checkin staff, the bar staff in the front by checkin, our concierge (Jose), the Coffee shop, the Bites shop and the rest of the staff that we came in contact with it’s time for a serious makeover on the Royalton Splash side it’s better on the Royalton Punta Cana side but the food at all the restaurants from both sides need some real Chefs but overall we was around family which made it better for us to laugh at what they thought was real food we are from New Orleans so I guess we can be picky LOL so we will just try more All-Inclusive in DR and in other countries
Everything was good but we could get no reservations in any restaurant we had get out the resort and get dinner at blue mall Punta Cana, I spoke to the manager and he gave an option have dinner at the Doral restaurant, but we cannot take our kids… not good because I came to celebrate my son birthday. Otherwise everything else was good.

Overall, I will not travel to the Dominican Republic or stay at this property again. Service levels are not as I would expect - some staff were unhappy and rude. Most staff did not speak English and so it was hard to communicate what I needed; and they did not try to find someone who could help. They were fairly indifferent. It was hard to find a clean table at the Selections buffet and hard to get service - cups, cutlery and napkins were often missing and staff seemed unhappy to provide them when asked. Water/drinks were also not served in a timely way. Sales - I was so fed up with the on-resort sales people. I fully expect it on the beach, but I was surprised and quite annoyed that I was being sold restaurant options and return trips to the Royalton for all 7 days I was there, multiple times a day by various resort staff who say they are "concierges". It became very uncomfortable to walk past the same people day after day after refusing the packages, and they just kept asking. I didn't feel relaxed on this vacation due to the constant heckling no matter if I was near my room, walking through the resort, or sitting by the pool. Noise - Every single morning, the cleaning staff and other staff in the hotel were yelling down the hallways and laughing quite loud. Sound travels a lot, and it woke us up early every single morning. We were quite annoyed by this. There is no courtesy by staff. Food and drinks - somewhat disappointing compared to Mexico resorts.
They never cleaned the floors out my room for 3 days. Bugs on the floor. Stay would just walk by stuff that needed to be picked up. I blame that on management
Terrible customer service, the rooms are not clean with mold everywhere, the air conditioner doesn’t work, drinks were watery, food was cold and no utensils to found. I can keep mentioning but I know it’s not going to change anything.
This property should be stripped of its Marriott name and stars. This hotel, that is marketed as a 5-star resort, is less than 2 at best. Extremely dirty (the staff washes the floor at night using buckets of pool water), there are leaking holes in every ceiling, including the dining hall, where they use buckets of water and dirty towels to absorb the water next to where they cook your food. We found bugs in our food on several occasions and cockroaches in our room. When we complained to head office their reply was “we recommend you deal with your resort staff”, who was equally unhelpful.

Food options are terrible for vegetarians. Most of the staff doesn’t understand and are not friendly if you don’t speak spanish. There are no salt or pepper shakers anywhere. Not enough utensils are placed in each of the buffet items so people mix raw meat and vegetables together. Menu items that are listed are not available at a lot of the restaurants and café shops. even with Google translate, staff would still not understand. Bathrooms have black molds on the grout. Comforters were stained and ripped.
A/C was barely working. Construction started very early and noisy. No way to stop room cleaning service from waking us up early as there were no tags, to not be bothered.
Hotel food was not good and they limit access to restaurants at the main resort if your reservation is under the Splash side of the hotel.
Worst customer service. They push you for time share meeting which they says 30 mins but it last long half a day. Your coupon for $100 works no where. I requested room decoration my daughter’s sweet 16 but never happened. Food was disgusting. Drinks were watery. They blame each other when you complained but no one try to fix it. Room was nasty smelly. Nothing was good at that place.
This hotel is not located on a beach so if this is a deal breaker do not book. You have to take a trolley to the neighboring report, Royalton Punta Cana, in order to access the beach. You do not have access to the neighboring resort restaurants so you would need to take a trolley ride back to Royalton Splash for meals and snacks. Also they will offer you a welcome breakfast. This breakfast is a 90 min presentation to try and sell you on future Royalton vacations. Save yourself the trouble and spend the additional money and just book Royalton Punta Cana. This gives you access to the Splash Waterpark in addition to direct beach access.

The food had no taste. it rained while i was there and water leaked inside every dining facility. The chairs were torned in the buffet. The diamond club pool was small. The Diamond club area was small and didnt make me feel like i got a bang for my money. not enough entertainment. didnt feel like a resort

La chambre était ordinaire et pas très propre. Il y avait des traces de café collé sur le bureau et le plancher était sale. En revanche, le frigo était bien rempli avec des boissons gazeuses, du jus, du lait au chocolat, etc. Les glissades d’eau étaient vraiment le fun! La nourriture au buffet était correcte mais n’égalait pas celle d’un 5 étoiles. Par contre, du côté du Royalton, le buffet est beaucoup plus beau avec un plus grand choix, et la section pour enfants était nice. les restaurants à la carte, il n’y avait aucune disponibilité. Nous ne pouvions pas réserver avant notre check-in, qui était à 15h. Nous avons donc payé 10 $ pour obtenir une réservation, mais avons finalement attendu 2h30 on es sortie à 10h30 !! La nourriture au restaurant japonais était moyenne : un pad thaï très sucré avec des nouilles pas cuites. Les gyozas étaient très bons et la petite soupe aussi, mais cela ne valais pas l’attente !! Le resort est très grand, mais il n’y a qu’un petit train pour se déplacer, ce qui fait que l’on attend très longtemps. Nous avons fini par marcher la plupart du temps. Le Royalton est beaucoup plus luxueux, mais le service est très lent et le personnel n’est pas très sympathique. La mer a mangé toute la plage, rendant la baignade dangereuse pour l’instant, bien que l’eau ait une très belle couleur 😍. Bref, je ne recommande pas, mais nous avons discuté avec des personnes du Diamond Club, et elles vivaient une expérience très différente, beaucoup plus agréable.

I have a bad experience from this hotel. 1. They had to change me to another room because the air-conditioning was not working, even after the visit of the technicians. 2. I had a room at the 3rd floor, I called the receptionist 45 minutes before my departure (check out) , nobody came to help for the luggages. 3 The ATM machine is broken. 4.The food is nice but you have to queue almost one hour in the heat to be able to enter the restaurant.
This was my first international travel...and this resort was exceptional. Thanks for an awesome experience. I cannot wait to visit again.

First time going to Punta Cana and to the Royalton Splash and I loved all the facilities, water park for adults and children, very respectful employees and very attentive to needs... the best was all-inclusive restaurants, buffet, Mexican food, steak, seafood of all kinds...
Great property, one of the rooms didn't have enough drinks on the fridge nor snacks. We had to wait over an hour to get the second room. We went there to celebrate my wife's and my father's birthday, and the experience had its areas of opportunities. Aside from those things, it was a good stay.
Great water park, the rooms need work but they were very clean.
Refused to purchase hotel package of timeshare and got promised a hotel tour and breakfast got neither. Gentleman who told us if we had any questions about anything who told us about that free tour and breakfast. Refused to even look our way or even help us after we denied . Not all staff was too bad some were kind but , I do not see myself coming back here ever .

The staff was super friendly, reliable and helping, but the food was not good, the Buffett didn’t have many options and some other restaurants were closed, entertainment closed really early so you have to move to the other hotel to enjoy dancing or later shows. To be honest the staff save the stay other than that not an incredible experience.

Underwhelming vacation
I decided to join a relative who had booked a vacation to Punta Cana. I booked a luxury room. Upon arrival in my room at Royalton Splash, there was a distinct musty smell similar to dampness. The room had 2 double beds (which the young lady at Reception mentioned), and was so plain. There was nothing about the room which qualified a description of luxury. The bathroom has a damp odour & holes in the masonry. The overhead shower is not fixed securely to the wall. There is no toilet brush, no adequate air/odour extractor. The towels are all of the same size, so no seperate hand towels. The coffee machine isn't easy to use & despite 3 requests,for cream/milk for coffee & tea, I did not receive any. There's no hair-dryer & the steamer was pushed so far back in the cupboard, I didn't see it until day 4 of my vacation. I'd booked a 7 night stay. My relative also booked a luxury room & was given slippers, an iron, a sofa, toothbrushes. I did not receive any of these items. So what was luxurious about my room? I don't understand. I had to ask for the floor in the room to be cleaned & upon returning to the room on day 4, it smelt so bad & it was clear a dirty mop/dirty water had been used. I had to leave the patio doors open for some time to clear the smell. The facilities such as swimming pools & pool bars, are a good feature & I enjoyed those. The evening entertainment is ok. The food was pleasant & plentiful, except Bella 'Italian'(terrible food). Excursion staff-excellent

I really enjoyed my time there. The entertainment was great, however I felt like there could have been more of a variety with the food, it was the same food for lunch and dinner etc. Also my room specifically smelt mildew/toliet.

I really like the waterpark and that is family friendly resort.
I specifically stayed at royalton splash as I was traveling with 3 children and everything for the kids was limited. The kids club was only open until 7:45pm. They would not allow my 6 year ild daughter who is 4 ft tall go on any of the medium slides as they said she was too tall. No other entertainment for the kids. It was the same food every day no variety. It was almost impossible to get a reservation to any of the restaurants without having to tip someone for assistance. The tooms were outdated. Although room service came every day they mooped the floor with a dirty mop. The same stains were on the floor for the 5 days I stayed. I would not stay in this hotel again nor will I ever recommend it. In addition Expedia was not very clear when booking flights that there would be an extra charge for carty ons as it was not included in our package. If I would have known that I would have done it in advance. Overall not a good experience and I would think twice before booking with expedia again.

It was nice but they could have more food options also I felt like the staff and stuff were a lot nicer to those who spoke Spanish. But it’s a great place for kids I would recommend either upgrading to diamond club so you can actually eat or staying and Royalton Punta Cana they have way better food
