Our butlers Roshaun and Franz were absolutely amazing. They were always there for anything we needed. They made our anniversary extra special. We had a lovely vacation and plan to visit Royalton again in the future.
Beautiful property
Very good stay. Friendly staff, good food in the buffet area and the coffee shop. Room service from the tv sucks. Neither TV would allow me to order, called to place the order over the phone after insisting that the TV was not allowing. The property is huge and we were unfamiliar with all the events taken place and where....
Don’t get married here. Don’t invite a large group or you’ll be embarrassed.
Luxury, beautiful and comfortable
I wish the food options were better.
Enjoyed my stay at this resort. The entertainment team was amazing!
This hotel is struggling as a result of a) issues with upset staff and appear to be on work to rule since last months strike and b) unresolved maintenance issues. The property is in an amazing location. Fantastic beach and great potential. The staff say the owners won’t spend needed money on fixing the issues so it continues to deteriorate. Rooms: toilet flushing, no hot water for jacuzzi, shower doesn’t properly drain and shower door doesn’t properly close, broken drawers, mirror cracked, scale broken, screen has holes Staffing issues: mini bar not automatically restocked, had to find/ask/tip the mini bar guy to get it done, room not always cleaned, towels not always restocked unless chased someone down, many staff at the restaurants or lounges/ bar areas barely moving to do anything likely work to rule. we would see them gathered doing nothing once waiting almost two hours for food items that would be ready made ie no cooking required. Water sports: non existent when they were supposed to be included. The weather was great and nothing available ever. Others had same issue despite seeing other resorts nearby out so weather wasn’t a factor. Food: mediocre and on many occasions we were told they were out of items like out of sushi at the Japanese restaurant, Jamaican Pattie’s Maintenance: pools are cold, tile/bar areas broken, cooking table at Japanese restaurant leaks, soft serve Dining reservations issues nightly and had to escalate to get them done.
I was hesitant about our stay here based on all the bad reviews. After driving in from Montego Bay we checked in pretty quickly. We had a swim out room which was nice. It was clean and located directly across from the kids pool which was perfect for us. Overall the resort was very nice and the beach area clean and full of available lounge chairs. Service was great and everyone working seemed friendly. My only complaint was the food. It wasn’t that great. We ate at Armadillo, Calypso, Hunter Steakhouse, Zen, Score Sports bar and the Marche buffet. The Jerk Chicken hut by the pool was the best thing we ate. We enjoyed our stay but the food would keep me from coming back.
The views, ocean, swimming, swim up bars, food, and environment was amazing! Best buffet for all inclusive!
Great location, beautiful beach and friendly staff. However property needs maintenance. The ac wasn't working properly. I called maintenance 4 times and they reprogrammed the thermostat but it didn't resolve and then I gave up. Only place with good ac was the restroom at the diamond grill. Hot tub also wasn't working for the whole 5 days I was there. Diamond club. Lounge didn't have much in terms of food and snacks. Dining was hit or miss and it was very slow. Buffet has many options but it was mediocre.
Great experience all around
Great stay, enjoyed.
Our stay at the resort was disappointing and far from relaxing. 1st we (my partner, baby and I) requested a King bed but were given two Queens, making it difficult to accommodate our baby and travel crib. The swim-out pool was dirty with garbage and towels at the bottom. We were moved to room#2 & we immediately noticed a strong moldy smell, likely due to the malfunctioning thermostat that blew cold air nonstop. The AC couldn’t be fixed until the next day, and the cold, humid conditions made it hard for our baby to sleep. Maintenance entered our room unannounced to fix the AC, which felt intrusive & there was also ongoing construction noise next door, making it impossible for our baby to nap. Maintenance staff were painting in the pool area while we were trying to use it, adding to the disruption. The bathroom door was broken, requiring us to lift it manually for privacy, and the bathwater came out brown, which was alarming. Despite these issues, we didn’t move rooms because the hotel didn’t follow through, and we didn’t trust the next room would be any better. We were also misled by staff with a "breakfast on the pier" offer, which turned out to be a sales pitch for a membership. We voiced our frustrations & the manager dismissed our concerns, saying it was the saleswoman’s opportunity to make money. Overall, the resort failed to meet basic expectations, and we left feeling frustrated and disrespected. This experience was far from the peaceful vacation we had hoped for.
Had an amazing experience.
I love the staff very professional
Everything went well, from check in, to check out, the staffs were excellent. Everyone had a smile on their face, and was willing to help.
The place was really nice and mostly clean, some of the staff was very professional, while others wasn't doing their jobs like a professional, the room flooded with us was my wife birthday the middle of the night they moved us took me a whole 3 1/2 hours to rectify my wife wanted to sleep so bad, in the morning i ask them to let us stay a little longer because of all the inconvenience they proceed to kick us out the room at 130 only a hour and half they gave us after everything they charge $12 us just by turning on the tv and clicking a channel that didn't say pay before use
I loved the staff they were very accommodating and made the experience exceptional. Tevin went above and beyond to make sure my partner and I got something to eat and he makes the best pasta. One pasta and pizza boss. Brent at the bar made us the best drinks. The surprising upgrade as well to a presidential suite really was the cherry on top.
Beautiful
Horrible Check In Process
One of the worse Check in experience. I waited over 2 hours to get my room. Check in was 3p, I arrived after 2p and didn’t get my room until at 5p. When asked for my room, the person who go somewhere and they reappeared 30 minutes later. Meanwhile, I have a sick child with an ear infection. We’ve been up since 5am and flew to Jamaica for what should have been a memorable experience, instead this was our experience. On top of which, my Stepdad came to visit me and I left him in the lobby to run and get something from our room only for him to tell me he was asked to wait in his car because he cannot Wait in the lobby. I was so embarrassed and disgusted. I will never return to this hotel and I wanted to experience this property to be able to relate to our American Express Centurion Travel, but I will never recommend this property. Horrible service.
Room did not match what was ordered. No compensation just moved to another room just as bad and did not match what i spent my hard-earned dollars on.
Andrew Cowan and Roxanne Glenn made our stay much better great seeing them again, Andrew truly is wonderful, hotel needs to improve in several areas but all in all had a great time
When I check in there was a agent Kimberlee Cornaldie she greeted me with smiles made my stay comfortable 5/5 every day she check on me told me where to go. What yo do and where to eat.
Disorganized and mismanaged. Slow and flawed checkin and checkout. Buffet was much better than the specialty restaurants (weird) and bars were always out of all but the basic drinks.
I was so so disappointed about this hotel .i travel all around the world but this one was the worst .the staffs was so unprofessional they just dont care to work.the had the biggest roach.i took pic.my room got flooded. I reported it and no one can to assit us .this was my brithday weekend. It was a discount.
Beach easille and very beautiful.
The property is beautiful and the room was excellent. Service gets mixed reviews for me. Check in was great the attendant was superb but I cannot remember her name. Check out was also great. My Expedia rep was awesome. We love her. For F&B is disappointing in most area. Alexia at Grazie was wonderful, she was so attentive and proper. Andreann-Cocktail waitress was full of great service. Toniann at Hunter was our worst experience. She used expletives at our table while she was upset at another table that needed her attention. I want Cabernet Sauvignon but she stated it was finished I started Merlot. She eventually found a bottle and brought it to the table for which I appreciated. But she did not want to change the wine glass. I had to tell her don’t worry and this was when she got another glass. We had to asked Ryan (another waiter)for a straw as she went to stand at the hostess station. We just wanted to eat and leave. Room service was timely and courteous. Coffee shop consistently good. Sports bar also was good.
Delicious food and good entertainment. Disappointed in butler service. He was unavailable almost the entire stay. The jacuzzi wasn’t working the entire trip.
Here’s a quick summary you could post about Royalton Negril on Expedia: Had an amazing stay at Royalton Negril! This all-inclusive resort exceeded my expectations with exceptional service, delicious food, and a beautiful setting. The staff was friendly and attentive, making my experience unforgettable. Highly recommend for a relaxing and luxurious getaway in paradise!
I received excellent Customer Service, the staff were very accommodating. A special thumbs up to Chantae from Guest Services. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was relaxing and enjoyable.
Review of Royalton Negril: A Disappointing Experience I recently stayed at Royalton Negril, and it was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, the problems began. My Expedia reservation was not acknowledged, and I was unexpectedly asked to pay more than what was quoted. My guests and I were left waiting for over six and a half hours before we could access our rooms, which was incredibly frustrating after a long day of travel. During that time, we had to request water and food, only to find the options available were limited and unappetizing. The staff lacked basic customer service skills and empathy, making an already stressful situation even worse. Throughout our stay, we experienced multiple power and water outages, which added to the overall discomfort. The dining experience was equally disappointing. The food in the restaurants was often overcooked, cold, and of low quality, and room service was virtually non-existent, with many items unavailable. To top it all off, the air conditioning in the restaurants was turned off, leaving us feeling hot, fatigued, and lightheaded. Despite my attempts to reach out to management and guest relations, no one ever came to address my concerns. This was supposed to be a special trip for my 48th birthday, but it turned into a series of unfortunate events. I would not recommend Royalton Negril to anyone seeking a pleasant and relaxing getaway.
Upon arrival most of the staff at the Royalton was on a strike. We had a hard time getting on the property because they placed a charter bus along the entrance way to block off the patrons from getting onto the premises. The first day on the resort none of the restaurants was open. We only had access to the Buffett which was limited in selection. We were told to arrive to the buffet prior to opened to ensure we get food. We had to use paper plates to eat off of and we were told to hold onto the plastic forks because they were uncertain they would not run out of supplies. It took 2 hours to access our hotel room. We did not receive butler service until Thursday, the day before our departure. We didn’t have room service until the day before our departure. There was no security on the property tor three days. We had no servers on the beach. We had to walk a long distance to get food as opposed to the luxury of the diamond club service which comes with these additional services. The entire time the staff talked about the strike and the issues with Managment, which caused more stress. The staff who was serving us were working in positions outside of their original roles. It was obvious most of them did not know what they were doing. The food tasted like slop. Management didn’t issue an apology which I am still waiting on. My husband and I happened to be watching the news only one footage of the hotel strike. This was truly a horrible experience.
Out of all of the times that I’ve been to Jamaica, this was by far my worst experience at a resort. My sister and I decided to throw a surprise 60th celebration for my mother and from the time we arrived, we had problems. We were unable to check in for about an hour because the company hadn’t taken payment off the card provided which they had should have done a week prior. When I tried to message the company to make sure they processed the payment like I was told, I received a message that they had gone home for the day, but that they had left a bottle of champagne and a bday card in “a” room. I had to transfer money to a different card so that they could use a physical card that I had with me which cost me an additional $75. Once we got to the rooms, they left the champagne and card in the wrong room. Throughout the duration of the stay, we had loss of power, loss of water, and then when we were gained water, no hot water. There was no room service , after two days, no restaurants and no access to the pools. When we walked up to try to use the pool before learning that the entire staff had gone on strike, a security guard stopped and told us that we could not use the pool but that we could swim in the sea. It was pitch black outside. we asked what we were supposed to do, she shrugged her shoulders. We just returned to our rooms. The staff never once mentioned initially that they had gone on strike, we had to learn that from another patron of the hotel. Food was scarce as wel
For the most part hotel staff, was very nice but we were treated poorly-rooms had no mini bar, took us a couple days to get iron in the room. There was initially no complimentary gift birthday celebration for a relative and I who celebrated our bdays. We were eventually provided with 1 bottle of wine. We were ask before our check out time, what time we were leaving. Just all round poor customer service. I hope it gets better…..
Food was not good, at all. The Butler staff was 100. Week we went was a big music festival and property was like spring break with inappropriate behavior and weed everywhere. Not the best family experience. Not a 5 star, was fun, but would not go back.
Staff is rude- my upgrade was falling apart and chair broke- tv not working and phone wasn’t either. When I complained instead of reimbursing me the upgrade they gave me a free upgrade to go back. Shows they don’t care! Don’t recommend at all
I had a terrible experience. The ground staff wasn’t pleasant. You have to make reservations to eat at any of the hotel restaurants. The room service only offered, chicken strips, pizza and a plate of fruit! The power in my room flickered often, the bathroom rack fell on my foot! And all they offered was a dinner as an apology. Also the air in my room didn’t work as well! I could go on all the things that’s wrong with that resort!
The Royalton Negril was impeccable. It was clean, well-maintained, and offered a peaceful atmosphere that allowed for relaxation without feeling overwhelmed by crowds. I appreciated the balance of enjoying amenities without the chaos often found at larger resorts.
Loved it!
We stayed at the Royalton in 2023 and we knew we had to come back for a second time. although our stay was not as long as last time it was just as we remembered! The staff were friendly and professional. The atmosphere felt like home. Highly recommend for a chilled vibe but also great entertainment.
The property was good. However we had to wait very long to get a room because our room wasn’t available at that time. They eventually compensated by giving us another room closer to the lobby. Then gave us a hydrotherapy session for an hour however one guy at the place with hair ( braids ) was so creepy and unprofessional. Eventually we did the hydrotherapy for about 40 minutes and left. Then our last night there we got locked out in our room for hours allegedly because the room door battery had died. Waiting for security was not fun as I had food spilled all over my clothes and needed to change. It was an ok experience just need better and improved professionals and equipment in certain areas. The food was great though and the vibes were chilled.

Our stay at the Royalton Hotel Negril was a mixed experience, with both positive and negative aspects. The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service provided by Kimmy, our Expedia advisor. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that our room had two queen beds instead of the king bed we had specifically requested. Kimmy was quick to address this issue, ensuring we were moved to an appropriate room and checking in on us daily to make sure everything was in order. She even arranged for someone to fix the air conditioning, which wasn’t working properly. Her attention to detail and professionalism was much appreciated. When Kimmy handed us over to Chantae, we could tell she was trying her best, but we did have an issue with her repeatedly calling me while I was on the phone with family. She called four times, which forced me to end my conversation to find out what was so urgent. I would have appreciated a bit more patience and understanding from her in that situation. The check-in process was smooth, and the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. However, the buffet staff had a shockingly negative attitude. It felt like asking a simple question was a burden to them, and their abruptness and rudeness were completely off-putting. It’s clear they either don’t want to be there or lack the training in customer service, which is a shame for a hotel of this caliber. In terms of dining, the food was average at best. The cuisine seem
The service was amazing .
I love how clean the property was
I love the jerk hut, very nice touch! Also the food truck was unbelievable, great service, great food. One thing I thought could be improve on is the service staff in the buffet at breakfast you have to ask for coffee refills, most of the many other resorts i visited in the past 20 plus years, staff was more attentive in that area!!Otherwise i enjoyed my stay, no complaints!! Definitely will be back!!Great 61st birthday for my wife!!
Outstanding
Dirty room, clogged bathroom drain, roaches (which i have footage of), none working Jacuzzi, no umbrella to use even when the managers are consulted. No food whenever it rains including room service. No back up generator, u will need to use your hot spot in order to make payment via credit card (You pay to pay). Apologies are standardized, anything that appears like a gift can be a pay off so that you will not post negative experiences. The list continues.
Staff were very polite &helpful in finding our way around the property
Everything was great except the power outage
Horrible!
95% of the staff was EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT! No customer service! There was no iron in the room and even after calling twice non still came to the point where we just left. At check out the rep was the most unfriendly and unpleasant. Not even a thank you for your trip or have a nice day!! Would never recommend nor return
This was my second time staying at a Royalton Jamaica hotel and will definitely not be returning. We booked a Diamond club swim out suite. The positives: We enjoyed our two butlers Franz and Roshaun as they helped us set up a round trip taxi to Rick's cafe and added champagne to our room. The negatives: we waited 20 mins for the golf cart to take us from our hotel room to the main lobby upon check out. Which almost made us late for our flight. We had to ask the staff multiple times to call for the cart. But we ended up walking very far with our carry on bags to the main lobby. Multiple food items were missing from the Diamond Club pool restaurant. Despite being 1 of 4 customers at the Diamond club ala carte Grazie restaurant, we also waited a very long time for our breakfast. The dinner at Grazie was not appetizing at all. When we were waiting at the breakfast buffet, we ordered 2 egg white omelettes. Chef Natasha made 1 whole egg omelette and had to be reminded to make another egg omelette. I felt as though she was not tentative enough and distracted as she was talking with a fellow co worker while taking orders. Another gentleman after me had to tell her his order 3 times. Also, part of the head board of our bed was loose and it hit my head in the middle of the night.Overall the service is not up to par.
Nice property. Room service not the best but the buffet is and there is a restaurant that serves steak and lobster included in the adult all inclusive dining which was amazing! Friendly staff and love the drinks at the swim up bar. Beautiful view and don’t miss the fire show
I love the food and the environment
The property was great and peaceful!
The room was amazing, however we didnt get to use the hot tub as it wasn't working, kinda wish i got to but it still wasnt enough to take away from our experience. Dining experience with staff during breakfast and lunch unfortunately was mid, took a while to get attended to. The property definitely needs to work on it's parking options though. Looking forward to being back again, with the hopes that it will be much better than our first visit.
Overall stay was amazing
Enjoyed the swim up pool
The swim up room was nice and the presidential suite was also nice
I liked the different food options, the property was extremely clean and most of the staff were nice. What I hated was the long wait for the room and that checkout was 12noon yet a room attendant came knocking at the door from 11am. That was a total turn off for me.
The property was lovely and the food was also good. The staff was also mannerable. Overall, it was a good experience. However, management needs to focus on coordination and organization. The staff can only do what they're told and with what they're given. I got my room after 6pm, and only because i decided that i wasnt leaving the desk until i got it. And then on check out, i got a call promptly at 12 that i needed to leave the room or else be charged. That was a major turn off. I was ready to exit but the room was somewhat far so asked for a bellboy. I have yet to see him. Had to drag the luggage and luckily saw one of the go-carts. There was also staffing issues in some areas which resulted in delays. Royalton, fix it please!
Beautiful property but not very clean. My room was never properly cleaned, I didn't have towels/wash cloths. My pool was dirty and had cups left over from previous guest. The restaurants and food was very tasteful except for the Zen hibachi restaurant...The restaurant was very smoking and i was coughing throughout dinner.
Wow!! Just wow best hotel this far in negril!!!
I’ve been to this hotel over 5 times and this time around I was disappointed. Everything was limited and nothing was ever on time. I hope they improve overtime because it’s a really great hotel overall and the food is always great.
Our tv was down and we were told that they were doing upgrades and that in a few hours from checking it would be working. My family are very busy people and barely have time to spend away from work. We mostly stay in and watch tv and we also have a 2 year old that loves to watch tv. We didn’t have any service even up to when we were checking out. I’m very disappointed and I was not reimbursed at all. There were dirty dishes stalked on one another from the day before we left and even when we were leaving it was still there in the stair case and stunk. Over all it was nice and staff were friendly except the last person we engaged with upon checking out.
Love it!
To be frank I LOVE this property however this stay was disappointing. I am trying so hard to remember the names of the two young ladies at the front desk who checked us in and also a slim built dark youngman (HUMBLE SOUL) who waited our breakfast and lunch the 2nd day. These 3 people are ASSETS to this property, the passion they have for their job is out of this world. Our room was CLEAN but we where turned off by a very dirty shirt that was set down on the side of the pool, along with a drinking glass holding an empty water bottle in it. To add to that, the smell of the sewage was unbable!!! It took 3 to 4 tries before the toilet would be properly flushed. It would appear as though there was a bit of staff shortage as some could be heard complaining. The long lines at the restaurant to be seated was ridiculous, and the flies....OMG. All in all I love this property and hope these areas will be worked on so We will enjoy our next stay. PS. There was a BIG crab inside the door on the balcony....lol
Check in was horrible. Arrived at 7pm and didn’t get my room until midnight. To make matters worse, I paid for an upgraded room and got downgraded instead. I was told that they didn’t have any swim up suits available. So I basically paid for something I didn’t receive. I tried to speak to a manager, but there were none available. I kept being harassed by security about being in a particular area of the hotel that I paid for but couldn’t access because of the downgraded room I received. All around poor customer service and over worked staff
Not worth purchasing diamond club packages, you do not get the service entailed and end up doing everything yourself. Very bad experience at this resort, after spending thousands.
Communication was not effective among the employees I felt misguided and each person I was told to go to would send me to the next. Apparently, the resort is using a new app and they would direct guest to use the app but it had it issues as well. On the day I should leave bare in mind check out is at 12pm someone came knocking at our room door at 9am, another came at 10am then 10:46am. The front desk called at 11:15am. I have never encountered anything of the sort. The employees tends to congregate among themselves alot speaking when guest are their waiting for a service. The restaurants are hot a few doesn't have any AC and sometimes close for whatever reason. The food and drink was okay nothing to talk about. Entertainment was good as well especially at night time. I would not recommend this resort to anyone.
We loved this resort!
I checked in at 1pm and was told that check in time was at 3pm and I couldn’t get a room. I did not get a room until 5pm. Next day I was told that if I don’t check out at 11am I will be charged
It started badly as I was unable to find the property due to the Lack of proper signage, lost almost an hour trying to find the place. Parking was horrible as i had to drive to the back of the property, thank God for the Golf cart. After checking in i was given the incorrect room, paid for Ocean view and was given something else. The staff and management tried their best to remedy the situation. Pros The restaurants are nice just try to get a reservation. The pool and entertainment are fun The grill is awesome Room service is decent Cons The buffet is horrible Some staff wont pay you any mind unless you tip them.
For me the Spa was the best. The couples massage will have you feeling like a new person. For couples request Angela and Simmone
Staff was very good… butler service was excellent O’Neil and Kaneesha were very accommodating….HOWEVER what we paid for was a little disappointing… food wasn’t the greatest and portions were small. They asked for food restrictions but was not accommodating in this area. Ac unit was not working and sheets were damp because of how hot it was. Resort should have a public washing machine and dryer service …
The staff here do not have the customer service training to meet basic needs. The food sucked, check in was late, rooms missing items and when you check in with a friendly demeanor you are met with a nasty attitude by majority of the staff.
STAFF WAS GREAT, from check in, butler, wait staff, they all were exceptional. The infrastructure is in dire need of repair broken and damaged mirrors in the room, damaged furniture. The property has deteriorated so quickly it’s sad. Lack of maintenance.
We had a swim out in building 2 with a view of the beach and ocean. It was quiet and the perfect spot. The only fault was that it was extremely humid at night and the restaurants and sports bar although air conditioned had the glass doors open to the outside which made the dining and sports bar warm. After being in the sun all day it would be nice to be able to cool off at night somewhere other than your room. Other than that - would totally go back.
When i booked they say one child is free when i get to the hotel i had was to pay for my 3 years old child.......i was rip off false advertisement
Check in process is so slow .That was the only hurdle .Rest everything is alright
This resort exudes luxury! From the amazing staff: Chris-Anne, Daron, Denato, Leon & Joan to the ambiance. Everything was absolutely perfect! I cannot wait to plan my next vacation here.
The service was HORRIBLE! Staff is not aware of anything within the facility, they are very rude, don’t want to assist and can not accommodate large groups. I am for a wedding and I’m order to get service I had to mention the bride and groom name which I was encouraged to do so by staff. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ATTEND OR RECOMMEND.
They make you have a seat in the lobby instead of going to the counter. Only to have you go back to the counter to get your wristbands and check you in. My 1st room was so filthy! The bellman called the desk and changed my room. My 2nd room, as I unpacked, and attempted to take a shower, there was no hot water, as I stood in the shower for a few minutes for the water to warm, I noticed the water was not draining. I got out the cold shower to call the front desk, only to be placed on hold for over 10 minutes. As I waited, I noticed the bed skirt was disgusting. I got tired of waiting, so I packed up my items to go back to the front. As I was getting my bags I noticed a nasty ROACH crawling down the wall. I took a pic of it and left the room. I went to the front desk to tell the manager about the filth in both rooms, but they left me standing at the front desk while they helped others. When the manager finally came over to me. Unapologetically she said we’re changing your room. I showed her the picture of the roach and she told me roaches are normal. They come from people leaving food around. I told her roaches comes for filth and either way the room should be clean and have no roaches. Now it’s 4hrs later since checked in. The manager told me to wait while she checked on my room but I looked over and she was helping others. I patiently waited until I had enough. I was finally in a “decent” room. Management sucks. They did nothing to accommodate me for the inconvenience. Never!
The staff was very rude and never refilled our refrigerator for 5 days after me asking. It was very hard to get a reservation for any restaurant we had to eat at the buffet all those days. The only good thing was the vide team by the pool area
Beautiful location, friendly and helpful people. Amazing beach and snorkeling!
The property is dated and there were a few hiccups, but I would absolutely return. Staff & service were good overall, & the grounds were beautiful and clean. Lots of mosquitos! A few improvements would make this property perfect! Check-in went smoothly with a refreshing drink. Michael at the front desk and Daniel the Bellman were helpful. The room, though dated, was clean with a good A/C & ceiling fan. Some minor issues included a tricky jacuzzi drain and non-working phones, but the shower was great and the minibar was stocked. Adding Coke Zero would be nice. The mattresses need replacement. A $200 deposit was authorized at check-in. It was a hassle unblocking movie rentals, requiring a supervisor. The buffet food was excellent, with immediate seating & variety. Shantal and Kemar provided great service. However, the buffet could offer plantains more often. Improve the single leaf Caesar salad and crabless crabcake at Hunters. Room service was slow (1-1.5 hrs) and often out of items, including CokeZero. Pools/beach were clean, with a high-energy vibe team. More towel stations would be beneficial, but the food truck and jerkhut were highlights. Housekeeping did a great job, even with valuables left out. Frequent calls about check-out were annoying despite arranging a later departure. At checkout, there was confusion about using the deposit to cover the movie charge-lead to a strange exchange and a delayed receipt. Despite these issues, the overall experience was nice
Majority of the staff had an attitude. The place is really nice however the people’s attitude is a serious concern.
Will not return.
From checking in to room service were all slow & terrible experience. Beach had a lot of mosquitoes, no one ever came to replenish the water in the fridge. People spend alot of money & should have more option on the room service menu. We wait for months to go on vacation to be stress free & relax but this vacation wasn’t it. Sorry but I won’t recommend.
Loved our stay here at the Diamonf Club! The staff was energetic and so sweet! Shout out to breastmilk and Smiley!
This property did not live up to its reviews and sadly for being part of Bonvoy I expected better. The hotel is outdated and dirty not only in rooms but in common areas. Sadly we ordered room service our first night waited an hour nothing called they said on the way another hour went by called and they said we have no idea what happened and they were not concerned that we waited over 2 hours for the food that was not coming. We tried ordering again and the same issue. When it came to cleaning our room, if it was cleaned no supplies such as toilet paper, towels and drinks in fridge were restocked. I called the front desk many times and waited for supplies to be delivered and after 3 hours of waiting I went and got my own supplies. Sadly if this was a once occurrence then I would disregard but this was daily. The worst part I would say is the lack of communication for hurricane preparation. We were told to shelter in our room and that we would be evacuated around 1pm. Around 3:30pm we called front desk asking about food since we had children with us and they were shocked and surprised that we were not brought any food. After an hour waiting the food did not come, we called front desk and were told it’s coming. After the 3rd hour waiting the hurricane started and of course no one would come due to safety. The next morning after sharing that we last ate at 9am and had children they said oh we were supposed to evacuate you. Neighbors all got food and better communication.
We have traveled to this resort 5 times and this as horrible. Upon arrival no room for hours, 8pm get to a room and its covers in wet paint. We are given another room and pull out the couch and there are roaches. We are told to go to sleep and come back tomorrow to talk to a manager. We get room change and air does not work. We are told to call every morning at 7am for them to fix it and then it breaks. Towel holders falling from walls... and literal FILTH. The pool has straws and trash at the bottom and I will add we travel to Royalton Brand 2x annually- and have been here 5 times, and NEVER have we had this. I understand hurricane and we are game to help with those things, but this was not hurricane issues this was poor management and housekeeping. Upon bringing PHOTOS of the bugs, since they didnt believe us they come with large bug spray torches and spray the entire area while people are asleep... My son is now having nose bleeds and we are at med express. This was not a vacation at all, we spent every single day moving rooms, packing our things, or tending to items that make no sense..... I am such a Royalton Fan and I cannot believe this is what we experienced.... Selena in the Dining Management was the only person who saw us upset and tried to turn things around but its hard to enjoy the dinner when your children cannot sleep due to bugs and being fumigated....
Food was good, easy to find transportation. Plenty of amenities and activities. Sometimes music a little too much for older folks and younger kids. Bathtubs in the middle of the rooms are somewhat dated now.
5 ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pungent odour on compound. Poor communication from managerial staff. Waiters, bartenders, bell service men and entertainers were pleasant. Food was okay... just okay. Ended up with gastroenteritis. No room service - understandable given hurricane situation but extremely disappointed. Not worth the money.
Property needs maintenance. Old and outdated. Some staff are kind and some need training. Food needs to be upgrade. Not a five star hotel at all.
The property and food was delicious onsite. We just had a few hiccups. Our AC was not functioning, they brought us an additional fan, however, was still very Hott, they offered to move us rooms, but, we are a family of 4 and they wanted to move us to a king bed room. Some of the staff was not customer service oriented, over all I would rate a 7/10.
Enjoyed my 1st time to Jamaica because of the amazing amenities & staff at the resort.
ARRIVAL: we were asked to sit in the lobby and someone would assist us with checking, 30minutes passed and no one cane so my husband we to the front desk only to be asked "who seated us" no apology was given. DINING: Food was below par, the restaurants ALWAYS had a wait and the staff (steak house) was just unprofessional, tex-mex hostess basically tried to discourage us from going on the wait list for a visibly empty restaurant! PROPERTY: there's clearly a sewage issue, the scent is horrible and could even be smelt in the shower. You could hear when the room beside you showered and flushed their toilet. There were holes in the curtain, rust stains on the tile from the sofa, mini fridge area seems to have leakage age the boards had water marks. ENTERTAINMENT: only thing that was decent, the evening entertainment was good. Overall, money wasted and I WILL NEVER RETURN to any of their chains. This was a 2 star experience.
Staff and property are great. The services were lacking. Checked and the mini bar was empty. Called to get it replenish it never was. Called for extra towels never recieved them. Limited areas to eat between breakfast and lunch if you are a late sleeper.
The Royalton itself is a wonderful property and there are lots of good food options. Staff is very friendly. Please learn from my experience, wear shoes with good traction and NEVER walk barefoot on the resort floors. Slipped and fell face 1st breaking 2 teeth and knocking out 1 completely. This happened on my 1st day there only 4 hours of arriving. In bed 3 days and ruined my whole trip. There are cones and signs stating slippery when wet, so my incident was not the 1st. I am certain these things were put in place because this is a present and clear danger. Putting signs & cones are all good, but it does absolutely no good to correct this issue. Please put a carpet runner down the middle of the hallways. It’s just that simple. Being a family resort, I didn’t appreciate all the twerking that went on in the pool area when DJ was there. No need to witness people acting like they are in a porn show. DJ and music were loud enough to be able to hear from our room on 3rd floor. Just saying.

There were a few employees who deserve recognition. Chris Ann in the diamond club, Outstanding. Anna, the diamond club manager was helpful and very profession in a horrible situation. However, our stay was the worst trip of our life. By the second day we just wanted to go home. We stayed in the penthouse suite. The outdoor jacuzzi did not work, the toilet was loose and unsafe. The phone didn’t work. Staff is unfriendly and not helpful At All. Our butler, Leshan, was the worst. It would take hours if not days for any request. We noticed dishes left by other guest around the hotel, sometimes there for days. The elevator we used was out of service quite a bit, in fact we got stuck in it on time. It went up about a half of floor and crashed to the bottom. Literal free fall! We reported problems and concerns several times to upper management, Lorna. She did not have the time for guest as she would cut you off when talking and explain how everything is perfect as she was told by her employees. She told me she would check the toilet herself. Instead she sent someone else. Who told her via a text it was fine and she showed me the text in a very condescending manner as if I was lying to her. I showed her a video I took and the exposed electrical panel I the room and she was confused and said, “why would I be told it’s fine, if it’s not”. I told her for days her staff was lying to her but she did not want to believe me until I showed her proof. Absolutely Horrible!! Lorna needs to go!!
