At one time, the Decameron probably was really nice. The food wasn't great. The room was clean but the traffic (mainly horns at all hours) was loud, as well as a local bar. Had to sleep with ear plugs which was unfortunate because I would have liked to listen to the tree frogs instead. The mattress was not a king size but rather two twins pushed together which left an uncomfortable seam in the middle. The people are very nice. The entertainment was okay and typically very loud from about 10:00 until early afternoon which was unfortunate but some people like that. I don't mind entertainment but they had the mic so high you could hear it down at the beach. We had to get up at 6:30 every morning to put towels on beach chairs otherwise we wouldn't get a single lounge chair. We learned that after the first day of not getting chairs. On vacation, I would rather not have to set an alarm for 6:30 to go reserve chairs. In the past, we have stayed in Negril which had miles of beach that you could walk. We would prefer that compared to the small areas at the Decameron that you could walk. Jamaica is beautiful and the weather was wonderful. All of those small complaints but I would rate the Decameron at 3 out of 5 and probably not come back. We like a more laid-back, quiet vacation.

Overall, the stay was enjoyable; however, the tiles in the cottages could have been improved, and the bathroom needed to be repaired, as the washbasin was fractured and moulds were discovered in the tub.

I liked the concept of the rooms. I love that it’s on the beach. I had a beach front room booked but because the WiFi was terrible, we had to sleep nightly in someone else’s room from our group . Service at the front desk needs to drastically improve.

We spent an entire day just getting checked into the room, it wasn’t ready when it was supposed to be. Literally hours checking in hanging around the lobby. I heard other guests complaining about the same issue. We requested a quiet room and were placed in the bungalow near the main office. There was loud music that was blasting till 3 am every night after two nights of no sleep I insisted they move me further away, that took up an entire other day of our 5 night stay waiting for a room to be available.

The property was safe and clean. The cost of our vacation was very reasonable. The meals can be more of a variety and enough for everyone when there is a high volume of customers. The water pressure for the shower was very poor even though I address that issue. We needed a bellboy to carry our luggage for departure but their phone wasn’t working. I had to walk to the reception desk to get this service. We rented an ocean front cabin but everyone wake up early and snatched the beach chairs for all day use.

The staff at this facility have got to be the most helpful individuals around. From janitorial right to the front desk (amazing people). My only issue would be the food needs more updating. Property is kept very clean, a little out of date but rooms are spotless, ac cold, water is hot. We had a cottage that was towards the end of the Property so wifi was almost none existent. Overall will def go back

Some things I liked: 1. Room maintenance was very good. 2. A big bottle of water was provided daily. 3. Entertainment and Bar Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Some things I didn't like: 1. Some of the food items tasted stale. 2. Certain meats was controlled by staff and the portion given was very small. 3. Staff watering table and providing food seemed insufficient. A few times, I didn't receive any service. 4. The gym was closed during the hours stated for it to be open. 5. There was a delay with the opening of the buffet on time. 6. At nights, I could hear the sound system playing outside the property. The overall ambiance was good. The room was small, but clean. The grounds was very scenic. The staff was mostly friendly. A few seemed annoyed while providing service.

We stayed at the Decameron over the Christmas and was very disappointed. There was a lot of ants in our room. Even though we left the resort a while day to give them time to fumigate our room which they promised they would do we returned and it was not done. The ants was all over our bedsheets and they bite us. The food selection for us as vegans was poor. The food was flavorful and more variety for meat eaters but there were almost no fruits or deserts for us. The food would run out and would not be replaced so often we didn’t get food like festival which we could eat because it was gone and not get replaced. There was not enough chefs as I would ago for a chef to talk to and they would say no chefs were there, only line staff. So of course the supervision was lacking. There also needs to be more servers for the number of customers. I owned a smaller restaurant and had twice as much staff. They overworked the staff so it would take a long time to get simple requests like a glass of water. They can do better as was demonstrated the one time we finally got the manager and he saw too it that we had a proper meal but that was after we informed me that we were not going to stay at the resort any longer. We went to another resort and everything was great because they had proper staffing, no ants and a variety of fruits and vegetables. I’m a Jamaican and would not recommend the Decameron resort to anyone.

They resort is old and needs some updating! Some of the female desk staff are not friendly. The food was mediocre with very limited options. All of the food tasted bland!! I was extremely disappointed in the food at the resort. The drinks were just okay to be an all inclusive resort. There was NEVER any jerk chicken on the buffet which is one thing I came to Jamaica for and when food ran out on the buffet it was slow to be replenished if it was replenished at all. No one told me anything about the spa nor did I know where it was, same thing about the disco. They cold do better to advertise their onsite activities. Decameron did not leave a great first impression but I would return to Jamaica and stay at another resort.

We had a chalet 1 bed with mezzanine that could accomodate 4/5 persons so an advantage over a standard room but we had a 3person group and with a single b/wc would be an issue for a larger group It was offering reasonable vfm aspects but some of external areas were dated and in need of updating or refurb My 2 issurs was beach towel supplies and some of the beach areas had a lot of sea grass I would stay here again as it is well located in the cente of the Northcoast

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at your resort. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. I was not accommodated as expected, and my concerns were not taken into consideration. Additionally, the resort appeared to be understaffed during my visit, which greatly affected the quality of service. On multiple occasions, I encountered staff members who were unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. This lack of courtesy was unacceptable, especially as a paying guest who expected to be treated with respect and dignity. Given this experience, I do not plan to stay at your resort again and would not recommend it to others. I hope you take this feedback seriously and make the necessary improvements to ensure a better experience for future guests.

If you have stayed at an all-inclusive in the past DO NOT STAY HERE. This place was terrible. They advertise having three restaurants. They have one. They actually have two but one of them is closed. They won't tell you that though. They advertise they have a snack bar/deli. They do not. At the property they tell you that they have a beach grill but it is closed. The one restaurant they have available was impossible to go to because it was booked out before we even checked in. Also, after the first night we were told that nobody knows if the restaurant will be open the rest of the week. The only food available was the buffett. The buffett was so bad (limited) that all of the guests were taking taxis to the market to get food. It was ridiculous. Even our mini bar in the room was empty. The staff lies and is unhelpful. We asked where one of the restaurants was located. The front desk pointed and said, "that way." We searched for it but found it to be closed when we got there. The pool was closed. Our room had rust throughout the bathroom. The bed is advertised as a king bed but it is two twin beds pushed together so there is a hole in the middle where the two frames meet. The power went out several times too. We ended up leaving because it was so bad and stayed at another all-inclusive that was fantastic. The biggest disappointment is that the property was not even close to what was advertised. Stay somewhere else.

The only thing I give a thumbs down on is the house keeping. They not give fresh towels and sheets on a daily bases. The towels and sheets you get from the first day is the same you'll have until your last day. Also bring your own washcloth that is not supplied. Those were the only issues I had with Decameron.

Rashain, Seien, and Nicholas in the a la cart restaurant were amazing. Everything was perfect for my wife and I. Rashain even found non-alcoholic champagne for us. He remembered us from the last time we were there and surprised us with it. His attitude, friendliness and helpfulness is why we came back the second and third time and he amazes us everytime. Rashain is an asset to this resort and his smile and friendliness is why we come back. My wife and I always enjoy coming back and reconnecting and relaxing. It’s always perfect because of Rashain and the rest of the hotel staff. The service here is extraordinary. Thank you all again. We will be back soon for a 4th time.

Love the fact that we were placed in a little cottage which was very private . It had a antique, rustic ambiance. Problems i had with this room are the bathroom was very smelly. As we entered the room we could smell it. The face basin pipe was leaking so it drip the entire time we were there. The hot water only worked in the mornings so it was a torture for me to shower at nights with cold water. The internet wasnt so reliable while in the room. The food tasted ok but lacked variety at the buffet. They have 2 other restaurants that has to be reserved. The one i got to try was good but again lacked variety . The customer service at that restaurant was poor as they told us that we had to be early however when we got there we had to stand outside for more than 15 minutes before someone attended to us. When they did they said just go in and choose any table for 2,which we did,only for a waiter to come ans told us that we cant sit there, who chose another table and they took us up again. I was really pissed as we were then placed at a table with an AC blowing directly in our faces which made the rest of our dining very uncomfortable. For the rest of our stay we went out to buy food because we didnt want to have anymore bad experience plus the variety again was lacking. With all this i cant say i expected much better as this hotel was very cheap so i guess we got what we paid for

The place was clean. Staff was wonderful. Lots of variety of food and drinks. No one bothered you. What I dodnt like was the bed. It wss made of concrete and the mattress was no good I was in pain by the time Ileft. Even after I returned home I was in pain and for that I will not return to Decameron. Everything else was good.

The staff was friendly and catered to the guests. Nice plants and flowers around and the view of the beach was great. The wifi didn't work at all in the room and the tv only worked one night and then it was down. Also, the hot water took a while to heat up and the pressure at the face basin was only a trickle. Bedroom itself was nice , just wished the bathroom was in better condition. Food was also ok at the restaurants.

I wish I had great things to say. I was excited to try the little hut styled rooms. They were cute. However they did not come to clean our room on the second day. We had to call them. They limit towels. You only get hand towels and a bath towel. The food was not great. Very limited items. Lettuce was very slim and the breakfast juice tastes like water. There wasn’t a lot of entertainment.

Everything was lovely!! Definitely would stay again. Only one issue, numerous cats were everywhere!! Get rid of the cats!!!!!!

We had an enjoyable holiday here, good appartment room but was a bit noisy at points, cleaned everyday. Food was ok, they could do with having a bit more variety, rice most days which is fine but if you don't eat rice like me, there wasn't always a choice of anything else like potatoes or chips (Perhaps offer these everyday aswell as rice). Snacks were limited, only a few options and were only offered for a couple of hours between lunch and dinner. We had a great taxi man called Alex taking us on tours, you will find him at the taxi point inside the gate area. All in all good place, will go again but probably get 1 of the cottages rather than apartment.

This place has a magnificent ambiance. Great scenery and I appreciate the cottage idea. The staff were all warm and courteous. My only issue was most days food did not taste very fresh and well seasoned which Jamaicans are known for. I tried almost everything and most of what I had was on the bland side. The other thing that I think could be better is the activities for the kids. I went there with my 2 year old and aside from the pool, there was just a little kiddies play area with a regular slide and swing that seemed very inactive and unattractive. Incorporating maybe a mini water park for the little ones to enjoy would be a good addition. But overall it was a good vibe.

Could be Excellent with a little TLC.(Upgrade)

The Staff was by far the best feature of the hotels and some of the shows put on by the ENT team. The hotel exterior needs urgent upgrading. It’s not really appealing to the eyes, do yo speak. The room that we stayed in was perhaps the most basic hotel room that I’ve ever stayed in. It needs urgent upgrading to be on par with the other all inclusive hotels on the North Coast of Jamaica. There were no rags or hand towels only bath towels provided in the room. The food was not bad, however, the can add some more choices to choose from. Also, there were a lot of cats everywhere in the dining area, something needs to be done about this as some people are allergic to fury animals especially if they are asthmatic or have any other breathing problems, also, guests don’t want to have animals at the foot of their table begging for food. Just a few minor cosmetic things needs to be done to take this from a good hotel to an excellent hotel. Would I stay there again? “I probably would”. The service was excellent, staff friendly and pleasant. Management just needs to spend some good money to upgrade the main lobby, The rooms and the whole look of the property.

I went on a family vacation. It was an amazing experience. If you looking to relax this is the place. If you’re looking to party you’ll have to leave the resort. The only issue I had was the cars walking around the dining area and the don’t give you wash clothes so bring your own. The staff was amazing, room was clean, and my pick up and drop off for excursion was smooth. When you pull in the result the outside area around the result looks ran down but once you cross the security gate it’s worth the stay

I have stayed here several times. It clean, staff are friendly but sometimes can be more attentive in the buffet restaurant. I think this is the best value all inclusive in Jamaica. But don’t expect to pay a relatively low price and get the Ritz. It is nice enough, good facilities and clean. I went off season and it was a shame there was not more hote transport into Ocho Rios. But plenty of taxis which you have to pay for. The evening entertainment is very good indeed. I would say good all round value.

The resort was infestations with cats all over, from the dinning area to the pool area, to outside your rooms, the bungalows need urgently upgrade to bed mattress and bathroom, poor wifi no connection. Poor food selection

the place is run down i have stayed there before and it was much nicer Mediocre rooms and the food is sub par i went hungry because i did not enjoy the food. place was boring also The one good thing is that the staff is nice. i would not go back.

The stay was nice and most of the staff were nice. The 1 thing that irritated me most was the grounds people were very rude. Trying to sell you things and harassing us. They had limited dining due to the hurricane which we understand that. I did notice that the staff treated people differently by the armband that they were wearing.

Could have been better!

This was our 3rd time at The Royal Decameron. Unfortunately the service has dropped a little. The meals were repetitive, not a lot to offer for vegetarians. There was also cats and kittens walking through the dining area while we were eating, sitting and crying while watching us eat (annoying). We booked for 15 days and the TV worked once on yhe 1st day of our arrival then had no signal for about seven days (apparently issue with cable company). The good thing that stands out at The Royal Decameron is are the staff members. Alica Beckford looked after us very well and our room was alway nice and clean. All the security guards were excellent and helpful at all times. We enjoyed the massage services by Ocean.
