Bad experience

The room is very cold because is outside the building, also very dirty, and no pillows to sleep on. I tried to talk to the manager, but she never came out. I’m handicapped so I need handicap parking, but they wanted to charge me $12 per night. Wish it should be free. Pics of the rooms in the website are deceiving.

Lousy stay at the Rodeway Inn-South Miami

When we arrived a car was improperly parked in a handicapped space. I’ve had 3 joint replacements and needed that space. We 2X notified the front desk and provided the car owner’s ID #. The front desk staff (2 female staff members) said they work work to resolve the issue with “security”. The car was still improperly parked the next day. TV did not work when we arrived and although the front desk did send someone to fix the TC, we noticed the TV would only have power if the hall light was on. The room’s condition was deplorable, including a rotted out bath tub. We will NEVER stay there again despite the hotel’s ideal location. I predict that when Hotels.com passes this review along to management, the reaction will either be apathy or a lack of understanding of the issues, or both.

TERRIBLE place to stay

This hotel was disgusting. We walked into our room and right back out. Ceiling is falling in, floors are falling apart from water damage. Toilet and shower were disgusting. Around the bottom of the toilet was layers and layers of caulk. The whole hotel stinks. Don’t book here! I’m getting the runaround for a refund. Overall a TERRIBLE experience.

The staff at the front desk was very incompetent!!! The keys to the room were always not working for a four day stay. The pool needs to be cleaned and also they are no chairs by the pool. The coffee and tea options are limited. They are additional charges that are not stated online. When it’s hours before check out they call constantly as if you have not paid for your stay in advance. Then before check out they came 20 minutes before check out to knock the door to tell us it’s time to check out. No English speaking staff at all… The area where this hotel is located is not very safe at night ..we had to pay $12.00 a night per parking and $2.50 hotel fees separately that cannot be explained what that covered. Air conditioning sounds like a tractor motor all night and you can hear absolutely everything in the other rooms next to you. We parked in a garage that you have to go around the building and drive in then show a paper before they lifted the iron gates from Alcatraz prison…sighs …there is absolutely nothing close by to do or no form of eatery. The stay was very very uncomfortable and costly especially with the unexpected hidden fees plus the extra $100 deposit after the Expedia 3.rd party cost. Honestly very disappointed and unhappy with the stay and the services.

I booked for a double bed handicap accessible room due to my mom using a wheel chair. I booked several months in advance. When we arrived we were told they overbooked and did not have an accessible room available. Customer service was not great and not very flexible. Thankfully my mom can walk some and we were able to make it work. Also, they charge extra for parking and some other random daily fee. The parking ramp is sketchy and so is the neighborhood. We did not feel safe. The building is old and in rough shape. The furniture is old and well worn and the place is in dire need of new paint. Walls and doorways looked dirty as well as the windows. The tub in our room had holes patched in it and the tub floor felt spongy. The faux hardwood floors were deteriorating as well. Also, the ac in our room was set to 50 degrees when we first arrived and our room was freezing. The only positives were the pool looked pretty and the room was clean.

They charge you a deposit in case you break something, but everything is old and neglected, and they also charge for parking your car, which is ridiculous. I asked why they don't charge you when you leave in case you break something, and the answer was: we don't trust the customer.

Maid forgot to put the soap after cleaning on the second day. Only one employee available most of the time. No wifi service, it says there is wifi but once you connect it doesn’t work. They never told my 80 years old dad where the ice/ water was. On the morning of the checkout the cart to carry the luggage was lost, nobody went to search for it.

Lo bueno: El hotel esta muy bien ubicado, cerca al Metro, a centros comerciales y hospitales, tiene Piscina. Lo Malo: La poco amabilidad de una de las personas en la recepción, nos hizo esperar a varias personas que fueran las 3pm para hacer el check in, habiendo cuartos disponibles. El internet es pésimo, se cae constantemente, toca cada que se cae toca volver a escribir la clave ya que la autenticación se hace desde la pagina de ellos. Habían goteras por el aire acondicionado que es algo viejo.

The property was old and poorly maintained. The beds were straight out of the 70s or 80s and broken down, so very uncomfortable. If you want hot water for your shower, you need to take it late at night or super early in the morning (between 11pm or 6am). If you want more than one facecloth you need to go ask the front desk. All the furniture was chipped or stained, and the hotel itself was overall grimey. Which is sad because with some money and proper maintenance it could have been a lovely place. The area directly around the hotel is a little sketchy, but just 5 minutes down the road its really cute and lively.

I deserve a refund.

Where do I start first I had someone booked the room and because they did not put my name on the reservation they would not let me check in. We called reservations and they said that all I had to do was show up and that they would call the person get a credit card authorization form and let me into the rule, none of that happened. What happened was when I got there I was unable to register then I had to pay for the exact same room , none of that happened. What happened was when I got there I was unable to check in. then I had to pay twice for the exact same room. just to get somewhere to stay for the night. Once I got inside the room, nothing was as stated online there was no refrigerator. There was no microwave. There was no sofa. There was just a bed, a tv and a leaky AC vent. Besides the food, staff and horrible room. The overall experience was very much a letdown.

I did not stay even the first night. The room was disgusting. Everything is extremely old. The room smell was terrible. It smells humid. Beds were in terrible condition my mom almost fell on the floor when she sat down in one of the beds because it was broken. The save box was full of roast. Room was completely dirty. That place looks like a cheap motel and the people around does not make you feel safe. Terrible experience. That place should be closed. The pictures in the internet has filters. I got my keys when I checked in I went to the room when I saw that I went back down to the reception and checked out. Honestly the worse place I have ever seen.

Scary in South Miami...

There was a cockroach crawling on the bed the very first night...so disgusting !The beds were mushy, and the rugs in the rooms were filthy. The rooms need a serious, deep cleaning, the hotel is quite dated. The staff was very nice. Sadly, I got get what i paid for.

Horrible! Didn’t even want to stay there but had no other options. Leaking ceiling that looked like it was gonna cave in. When the Ac was on it dropped all over the floor from ceiling. The whole place smelled like pee. Do not recommend. The staff pushed us off and made us wait 20 min for the other shift person. They didn’t even have our room ready. After the 3pm check in.

Miserable don’t use this hotel

My stay was miserable- 1st I got hit with a 100 deposit- that front desk said I could pay in “cash” I thought that was kind of shady then they charged 14 dollars a night for parking- I looked on the app- and they were charging me 30 dollars more than what was advertised but we had reserved at a different price ahead of time so I got screwed that way No free breakfast- the room was run down - the view was a moldy wall the curtains didn’t close the whole way - so anyone walking by could look into my room- the entry door was not flush to the closure so light was shining through the sides - the front desk staff was not friendly at all in fact the staff in general seemed like they were having a bad day - there was no elevator in the parking garage- we were on the second floor but anyone not used to Miami heat and dragging suitcases and kids if they have them - is going to suffer The bathroom toilet made a weird noise and there was a sign asking guests not to flush TOILETS PAPER - just to throw it in a trash can without a proper lid - the shower was icky just kind of old and run down - the mattress was hard and the blankets were hidden away in a chest of drawers - the one thing that did work was the air conditioning- but we couldn’t find the blankets and the front desk staff were so inhospitable that I was afraid to call and ask for extra bedding- what was on the bed was a sheet and a polyester throw - I was so miserable i couldn’t sleep - overall horrible experience

What didn't like about the property was the room? It was dated(really dated).. Water stains o. The ceiling, my room had to be changed twice because they put me in an adjoining room and the door was totally uneven, I didn't feel safe so I requested to move, a HUGE language barrier with housekeeping,, I mention to the front desk clerk about roaches in the room and his response was “Thank you for telling me, I’ll let housekeeping know” And not to mention the ELEVATOR had no air conditioning and it was supper, supper slow going from floor to floor.. Would NEVER recommend ANYONE there.

Rooms were in bad shape! Went to 5 different rooms before settling for a room. Non smoking rooms smelled like cigarettes, a/c dripping water, body marks on the head boards of one of the rooms. I have rented here in the past and honestly they let this hotel fall apart. Water marks everywhere, including halls, chipped flooring, mold smell. I was highly disappointed!

Beautiful hotel, it's a shame it was never maintained. Furniture in the room was broken and had missing parts. The mattress was also broken exposing all springs. Those springs were very noisy in the middle of the night. Parking lot in the 4th floor had some sort of debris in the floor. Wifi was completely unreliable. I had to leave the hotel to go to a Starbucks to get some connection. The floor in the room had some loose tiles (very cheap plastic flooring). The only remarkable thing was the staff and service. Those people bend over backwards to make you feel well. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't provide the cleaning staff with proper elements. They don't have vacuum cleaners and had to clean the floor with worn-out brooms. In general, I felt that the rich owners are only interested in making money out of the guests and not caring about them. I'll make sure I'll never go to Rodeway Inn again.

In total it was $12.26 for the day when I looked at my bill. Property you're staying at should not be charging for parking! Only negative I saw and I only stayed overnight.

Don’t like it but what do you expect for the price, room had a huge hole on the floor, air conditioning not working, staff at front desk without any intentions of offering solutions, 2stars..

Property old and smells of mildew no microwave or refrigerator in room had to move rooms twich because of being damp and the strong smell of mildew

Noting really special.

Not enough towels. Not enough lounge chairs pool side. They used to have a breakfast that ended during covid but it never returned. Stilll pay the same price as with the breakfast.
