Amazing experience! Loved my stay, hotel is beautiful, clean, right in front of slopes. Friendly Staff!
Hotel is great in excellent location, all the staff are helpful. The only gripe is no aircon, the hotel is very warm. With the noise from the rest of the resort leaving the window open isn’t an option.
Please make the buffet breakfast earlier, or provide room service. 7:30 breakfast opens, slopes open at 8:30. It’s a complete and utter rush for breakfast and ski locker. Make breakfast 7am or earlier
Excellent location but comes in for a price.
We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Rila Borovets. The room, and the bathroom especially, were on the small side. That said, it’s right by the slopes and you can pretty much ski right into the hotel. We took the half board option, which was very convenient. There’s a wide variety of options, though hard to get the waiters to serve you drinks. The hotel has the reputation as the best one in Borovets. We enjoyed our stay, and would likely stay there again if we return to the resort
Superb hotel, location is excellent with very modern facilities. Friendly staff, with a great breakfast selection. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Borovets if we were to return. This is isn’t about the hotel but Borovets resort needs to start investing in new lifts etc - the lift pass cost has increased and the facilities should too. That’s why we wouldn’t return to the resort!
Full package luxury and fun!
Service, Room and breakfast was amazing. I really enjoyed stay there.
Stayed end of April and was a ghost town (off season). But still very pleasant staff and wonderful facility.
Good hotel. Very close to ski station. We loved it
Excellent location
I have been in Rila hotel few times over the years but mostly in the summer. I love the location because it is right in the middle of everything. I like how the hotel has been renovated and is constantly improving. The breakfast is great and has variety of choices. However the recent prices I think was a bit too much for the quality provided. The beds need to be improved as not comfortable. Also another thing I really was disappointed from was the thick ice in front of the property and on the whole parking lot. For such a major and expensive hotel, this shouldnt be an issue, the parking should be cleaned and the front of the hotel also. It is not something impossible. Other than that it is a nice place.
Most convenient accommodation, as well as fantastic facilities
You can rent skiing gear at the hotel and also buy a ski pass. Any equipment you bring they will keep safe. We had a superior room (two adults, two children) and the room size was just perfect. They give you a welcome tea and coffe, also ketle is available in the room which is very convenient. Ski lift is in front of the hotel, and there is pleanty of tracks available from there. Ski school is also next to the ski lift. Overall everything was perfect and we will come again next year!
Great hotel, ski slope literally on doorstep. Ski rental/storage guys brilliant, excellent breakfast buffet, delicious Xmas and New Years eve dinner & entertainment, spa facilities very good, beautiful terrace, kids club wonderful. Perfect room. Extremely professional Ski school for our 7 year old son, Fantastic skiing, only one point to mention…WiFi unstable and frustrating at times
This Hotel is really nice now the renovations have been done, whilst it was a quiet time(pre season) the staff were great, the spa was very clean and a good selection of sauna, Turkish Bath, steam room chill room relaxation area, pool was warmer than we remember and whirlpool clean. The bar had a great selection of food, the terrace bar is great, and breakfast is vastly improved on years gone by. All in all great stay and lovely hotel
After the renovation this hotel became excellent. Modern, clean rooms, outstanding breakfast buffet, polite staff and free-self parking. Also great slope-view rooms - very peaceful and relaxing.
Great location
Very close to the ski slopes/lifts.
Top level , everything was amazing !
The rooms were badly heated in the evening and my kids got sick. i spoke to the property manager and thy said this is Hotel policy to reduce the heat in the evening! This is just ridiculous.
Lovely hotel ideal for skiing. Nice rooms, good breakfast. Great pool.
Christmas Holiday with family
This hotel is the right place for families with kids. Borovets is a small town for skiing in winter. The Hotel offers so many activities after 15:00 for kids. They never felt bored. We are so thankful for the amusement team who always madr effort to amuse the children with different activities besides the pool and free access to jacuzzi. Although the pool was quit cool. We'd difinitly come back to this cosy and warm hotel.
Thanks very much all the best

Very good
Lovely stay and great location for borovets
Hotel Rila is the largest in borovets and has an amazing set of facilities including full spa with multiple Sauna, Steam rooms and Turkish steam bath, relaxing area, very large pool and jacuzzis. The Reception is excellent as well as the breakfast has a large choice and restaurant for dinner was lovely food. Hotel rooms were excellent beds, toilets and showers and balcony and some even have views of the slopes. They also have ski storage room for all your equipment even if you hire elsewhere. Best of all you can ski right down to the reception! Overall amazing stay

The hotel has improved significantly since my last visit, but there is still some room for improvement. 1) Coffee at breakfast is disgusting. In this day and age I would be ashamed to offer such a nasty concoction. 2) Family friendly but not family focused. In the evening there are hordes of feral children running around screaming because there is no organised care or entertainment for under 18's. 3) Seating plans at meal times. Too many tables set up for 6 or 8 not enough set up for 2 people. Pre-covid sharing a table with strangers might be a good thing, a change to talk to people, but now days no one wants to share a table. On a positive note: 1) The range of food on offer in the evening is impressive although I think the quality falls just a little short for the price. Breakfast is great with the exception of the disastrous coffee and the troubling scrambled eggs. 2) Rooms are well presented. 3) Covid safe measures are in place. 4) Heated outside smoking tents are great. 5) One stop shop for ski lessons, lift pass, equipment hire.
Great stay
Fantastic location clean and good condition. Food amazing and was very tasty
Great
excellent hotel very clean and modern staff all very friendly will definitely be returning in 2023
The room is new and nice the bathroom is wat to small and inconvenient, you van bátelo move around and everytime you shower there is water all over the place. Always made sure that your significant other who you are sharing the room knows that you are on the toilet otherwise you will be hit with the door. The service was very disappointing, the staff is very little and they seem like that can learn to be nice to customers, front start to finish of our stay we always felt mistreated. Just a very few exceptions to this. The hotel has a larger capacity of rooms than dining so prepared to wait up to 10 min or more for a table if the hotel is full. The dinning is just terrible… anything we ordered was pretty disappointed and badly cooked… I order a Tuna with vegetable… they brought it cold and the vegetables burned… I ask them to fix it they just reheated the same plate so now the tuna was over cooked and well vegetables where black… my husband ordered a spare ribs they where the tiniest and the fries basket was half filled with paper. Then we decided to visit other restaurant in the hotel… so I could order something as I couldn’t eat in our first restaurant. I ordered a Pasta which consisted of a lot of spaghetti toss in oil, one and a half cherry tomatoes and a little sprinkle of cheese served in a plastic box as I ask to take it to the room. The box was melting from the heat of the oil and I have to ask again for plate and cutlery. Just avoid this hotel if possible.
Family Friendly Hotel
Everything was good. Customer service isn't 5-star but typical and quite expected in Bulgaria. Room was comfortable. The food was tasty and they have a wide selection. It's a kid-friendly hotel. The lobby restaurant staff weren't as friendly, some of the staff at restaurant on the upper floor were nice. Location is great. Easy access to the ski area.
This is a very good hotel that could be excellent with some minor tweaks. First let me start with the good stuff. POSITIVES 1) Great location--the ski lift is literally outside of the hotel:) and the hotel is located in the very heart of the Borovets ski resort. 2) Kids Club--my kids loved it. It is open from 4-10PM daily and the animators (especially Dar) are great! 3) Spa-- there are 4 saunas, one Turkish Bath, one steam room, a pool (all included), and excellent massage services (for extra pay)--it was great to relax in the spa after a long day skiing, but there were some issues..read more below THINGS TO IMPROVE 1) WIFI--the wifi in the lobby of the hotel was good, but in our room the signal was very weak and it disconnected every 5 minutes so we basically had no wifi--even though the hotel is advertised as wifi inclusive 2) Spa Management--The spa facility is great, but is not well managed--especially at night when it gets busy there is a sense of anarchy---kids are allowed to go into the saunas and horse around making a lot of noise and causing a lot of commotion (technically, kids under 12 are not allowed, but this is not observed); NOISY-technically there are signs that the SPA is a quiet area, but the sign reminding people not to use cell phones and speak loudly is poorly placed and none of the stuff reminds guests to observe the rules; PLASTIC CUPS--at night the spa at times feels like a pub--with plastic cups all over the floor and the benches....not good!
The only thing we were not satisfied with was the kids' club and the children play-area. Broken and un-usuable toys and play-sets, dirt and very unfriendly staff. Except one person, no-one played or talked or smiled at the children. The did not inspire the kids to play or draw, but put paper and toys away and only interacted with the children when they were leaving. I would definitely request change in their attitude and how they handle the kids
Rooms were clean and of a good size. Recently modernised. Hotel does not have interconnecting rooms, but allowed us 3 rooms next to each other - as travelling with a child over 12, they have to have their own room which annoyed us, as there was a spare bed in each of the rooms. Breakfast included and was sufficient Had Xmas Day dinner at the hotel which i would next time give a miss as the quality of the food wasn't good, and the service for the drinks was really poor that night.
Great hotel and very clean and efficiant
Excellent Hotel
It was many years ago that we last stayed in this hotel, and we were delighted with the renovations that have taken place, obviously it was quiet, being pre season but it was extremely clean and tidy, the rooms were fantastic, the Spa was great, our only very small gripe was that we had booked two massages, and on turning up.......no booking so a bit of a communication mess up. Breakfast was very plentiful overall we both felt 5/5
Great weekend away
The service was exceptional and the hotel is fully renovated with all amenities being great. Fantastic stay for a weekend - would highly recommend. Pool and spa area were clean and in great condition.
Fantastic, recommend
Absolutely loved it - the hotel is located at a beautiful location, facilities and rooms are modern, it is very spacious. Deeply recommend.
Modern interior, great facilities, perfect location, delicious meals, outstanding service. Highly recommend
The best spot in Borovets. Ski in ski out. Great food on the balcony and located close to all the bars
Brilliantly positioned at the base of the piste. True ski in ski out. Fantastic view from balconied rooms. Ski storage on site saves lugging boots etc. Really good showers, lovely pool, social lounge area with log fire.

Brilliant hotel for families and close to everythi
Room was cleaned every day and fresh towels. Food was brilliant for buffet breakfast and dinner. Lunch in lobby bar was great. Reasonable prices. Some items cheaper here than in other bars. Pool was great, very busy at peak times. Had a view of the resort. Comfortable beds, plenty of space. Small fridge. Hooks and shelf above radiator to dry ski gear. Loved it here!
