I loved how it was only a block away from the harbor and walked distance from everything.
Everything was great apart from parking. $40 a day is absurd for an open parking lot with a few homeless behind the Jack in the box is crazy. We found street parking across the hotel and within little Italy. Paid $10 cumulatively for 3 days. Make sure to read the parking sign times and parking meter. Overall breakfast was nice as well as other commodities.
I liked that it was close walking distance to Little Italy and other places. Parking was always available. Breakfast was ok. I didn’t like that the website didn’t mention that parking was $40 per day. They need to mention that parking was an extra fee. I also didn’t like that our room was next to the train tracks so we heard it passing at night. Thankfully the noise wasn’t too loud. The place could also use some renovations or modernization. There were no outlets for charging, just the regular plug.
The wifi was very poor and the heating did not come on until after midnight, making the stay uncomfortable. The TV remote was also not working as expected.
Over night parking is $40.
Great location! Services were very good!
Its in a great location with amazing features. I would definitely stay here again
Perfect!
.
We had a great stay
I loved the area location. I loved the kitchenette with the two bedrooms in the room. Each bed had stained sheets. Very loud with the trains all night long as well.
Clean and convenient.
For a hotel chain that carry the Marriott brand , our room is kinda outdated, everything else is good
It was quiet.
Great location. Walking distance from the cruise port as well as Little Italy and attractions.
Excellent staff. Breakfast is a plus as well. But the wall from the hotel to the trolley station is not as clean and there are individuals loitering around at night which increases the sense of being unsafe.
Loved it!
Great location. Property is a bit dated and under renovations. Our room was loud at night from the street noise. Housekeeping also never cleaned our room the four nights that we were there.
My daughter love the pool!!!
Excellent location for me. I took the train to San Diego and was within walking distance to the Santa Fe Depot. Staff were friendly and accommodating and did their best to allow for an earlier check in that scheduled, stored our luggage, and called when the room was available. Most locations say no without even trying - they tried and even if they couldn't get us in a little earlier, I would have appreciated the effort in itself. Location is very convenient to the Port and Little Italy (walkable), the Santa Fe Depot was very close so had access to all of San Diego on public transit. Extremely clean and spacious. The staff were the highlight of the stay, from the time we were greeted to the time we checked out, superb customer service! The housekeeping staff was amazing! It felt like I was walking into a new room when I returned after it was serviced.
Our stay was perfect! Close to where we were going and very nice room!
Breakfast was great, bums outside everywhere. Too expensive, room outdated, bed was horrible
Everything was great besides you have to pa $40 ,a day for parking
I was impressed by the service of the front desk. However our room was cleaned only once. We were there from 8/30-9/5 and we had the no service magnet on the door for one night because we just got in and were tired. No one ever came back to refresh our towels and we did make a request to the front desk and the towels were never brought. I saw the person cleaning rooms and asked for some new towels and she gave them to me but she did not speak English so I only got one towel and 2 wash cloths. We made due. She showed me a clipboard that had NS after our room number. I assume that meant no service. Again we had that on the door for only one day because we were tired. Breakfast was excellent.
The property was great! The only item that I suggest they upgrade are the TVs, they remote worked really poorly and it because of low batteries. You could also only login to Netflix or Youtube. I spent most of my stay outside of the hotel but would have liked some more options on the TV. Parking is $40/day, it would have been great if we didn’t have to pay for that or if we could have included it in the price when booking. The rest of the property was great.
Older hotel with dated furniture but still clean and decently good condition. The only thing I did not like was the parking, on the weekends it can get fun and if there's a concert next door, good luck.
The room that was given to me had no working AC except for a portable one that doesn't even cool the actual bedroom. The back of the building is where the train tracks are located so it is very noisy. It is also dirty and has homeless people smoking weed. The smell permeates inside the room because of the ac vent directed towards the window facing them. I was told that there was no other room available for us to move. It was a sleepless night because of the non stop noise, the smell was so bad. The staff were very apologetic about the AC situation. I wished they did not book this room to anybody until the AC was fixed. This was an unpleasant experience overall. The parking was $40 a night which is excessive. I would definitely not book again with this hotel.
It was a great location and minutes to where we wanted to go. Was a great place for my family trip.
Great staff and easy transportation to everything.
Nice stay
We had a 3 night stay in San Diego. Our room was big and spacious we had a balcony overlooking the pool courtyard. Aside for the noise of the A/c unit turning on it was comfortable. The hotel itself was walkable to the USS Midway and little Italy.

Nice property close to good restaurants.
The room itself was very spacious and had a lot of amenities. However, the shower and restroom were dirty in comparison to the rest of the room. Also, parking was terrible even after paying $40 for the night, we had to wait 40 min to find a spot after going to dinner. It didnt seem worth the price when there was not convenient parking.
Was not familiar with Residence Inn game … impressed! Thoughtful staff and easy check in and checkout. Thanks!
We had a great time! The front desk staff was so friendly and kind. Even with a sold out weekend due to Bayfest going on across the street, they worked hard to clean rooms fast and get everyone checked in.
Great location, great place for the price
Parking lot is very convenient , although it’s a charge it’s quite fair considering you are downtown. Checkin and front desk is manned 24-7 , they have little market that is extremely convenient. Breakfast has good options , pool was nice and heated. Gym and laundry room has lot of machines so no waiting. Had a 2 bedroom - it was quite spacious , very comfortable beds , kitchen has utensils and cooking pans and stuff. TVs made good size and has internet access for Netflix and you tube. Place was kept very clean , in the morning always see someone cleaning parking lot. Must say this is a true gem in the Little Italy / Harbor area
Had to pay $40 per day for parking that was located next to the hotel. First room did not have AC. The desk did a good job relocating me to another room.
Good
Very good service
front desk was extremely helpful
Everything was great. Solid location, nice suites, nice pool area and fitness facility. Very convenient to walk to tons of restaurants and stores, close to airport and trolley/train stop. My only 2 complaints would be $40/night parking is absurd and the TV remotes are awful.
Great location! Staff was amazing. Breakfast was good every morning. Pool area was perfect.
Clan
Property was closed to water area, lots of walkable restaurants locations. All hotel properties need to improve in room coffee programs, bland coffee, never enough creamers, I was thankful that I could get more from front desk. Overall stay was good
Needs an upgrade
The staff were pleasant and helpful for the most part. We had a sink backing up in one of the bathrooms and they sent someone up to fix it. In our 2 bedroom suite, there was a closet in the living room that was locked and seemed to house an air conditioning unit. It went on and off regularly and was so loud you could feel the noise not just hear it so it was difficult to sleep at night.
Close toTrolley
Loved it Thank you
Very close to both airport and car rental center
Looks modern but the bathrooms outdated
I like that it was close to everything. Food was great for breakfast. Checkin was easy and early. I didn’t like that an alarm clock went off at 3am and couldn’t talk to a manager. They wrote it down and told me a manager would reach out that hadn’t happened. Also I found a dirty rag in the room after they cleaned it. Those were two things I didn’t like.
Marriott San Diego Friday April 19, 2024
We stayed here to watch a Blue Jays vs Padres baseball game and cruise the following day. Great location! Short bus ride from the airport. Jack in the Box close by and the train station maybe 5 minutes walk. Sat morning there is a farmers market a short walk away. The cruise port is maybe a 10 minute walk. Its not a huge hotel so it did not feel over crowded. There is a nice smaller pool which was heated and seating areas with heaters. There is also a gym inside. The breakfast was good with hot food, waffle maker, toaster, fruit, coffee, juice... The staff were friendly and helpful giving directions. The room was comfortable. We had a full kitchen and one bedroom and pullout couch. There was a tv in each room. Overall a great stay.
the security of the area is not good
Pretty good hotel for the price. Conveniently located between downtown and other tourist destinations. Same sort of blah breakfast as usual, and the hallways are a little dim, but otherwise pretty good.
Needs updating and were homeless people sleeping right out back sliding door.
Very convenient. I didn't like the noise from the airport being so close!
Was comfortable and convenient
Excellent ! Heated pool nice area (needs to be warmer) . Good breakfast. I will always try to reserve here.
Great location. Property was kept clean and the staff was very friendly.
One complaint I did have was the mishap with my room which initially doubled charged me. I believe the manager was able to fix it but I was aware that I had a remaining balance when I checked out.
Good experince
The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel itself was also very clean. It is really close to a near by park that my son loved.
Great breakfast, good location, sprinkler went off
Everything as expected and pretty good Breakfast very good One sprinkler went off in our room on the third evening. They moved us rooms but they probably should have done something more for us. Location is 10 min walk to lots of stuff. Convenient but not right at anything.
Property is little tired and could use an update. Wifi was pretty much non existent in our room. Also, kept having to reset our keys even though we kept them in empty pockets. That said, it's convenient to Little Italy and the Embercado. Service was good. Rooms are spacious. So decent place but will try another in the future.
The staff are exceptionally friendly. The breakfast is very crowded and frequently without items. I never got there for the scrambled eggs. The room is as pictured. The bed is a full not a queen. It was also totally broken down. Way too soft. Also the tub did not drain properly which is a fall hazard.
The property was clean and quiet. Staff was nice.
is good
The property is old, arlevator was broken, tub/shower was in disrepair. Staff was nice, breakfast was normal powered eggs, sausage, waffles selection you always get. Nothing special, northing out of norm.
If you’re looking for “posh”, this is not it. If you’re looking for a large, spotless room with an amazingly comfortable mattress, in a very central and walkable location - then this is the place to be. We highly recommend
Staff was rude and condescending.
I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and professional. The continental breakfast was pretty good. The fire pit in the patio was a nice spot to lounge at.
Room was very dusty… someone seemed to have used room prior dirty dishes and pillows didn’t smell pleasing!
Great breakfast!
Great location, excellent staff, spacious suite, decent breakfast. Furniture and bathroom a bit worn. Sadly, like many cities, homeless people camping on streets nearby. Never felt threatened, though.
Great hotel in a great location for a reasonable price
EVERYTHING IS GOOD
The location of the hotel was great. Walking distance to the center of Little Italy and all the restaurants. The property itself was a 2 star. It desperately needs an update. Surrounding area is questionable with all the homeless, though they do not bother anyone. We still walked everywhere even at night. The staff was great and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The air conditioner in the room is obnoxiously loud when it kicks on. Made it very difficult to sleep our first night. Luckily it’s always the perfect temperature in San Diego and we were able to shut it off during the night. Breakfast was a plus in the morning as well!
The hotel itself was fine and the staff were friendly and courteous. Unfortunately, when we arrived Sunday and came back in the evening to shower we realized that the bathroom sink was not draining. We had to call maintenance Sunday night and he was there for almost an hour trying to unclog the drain. That was not great. Also, we decided we needed to check out early because an atmospheric river and possible flooding was heading to San Diego. We had a drive back to Las Vegas and were worried about making the trip. I realize the policy was a night's stay penalty for early departure but I thought it would have been nice if the hotel/Marriott would have waived that charge, especially since we are Marriott Bonvoy members.
The property is on Pacific Highway close to the Coaster train and MTS plus Little Italy. It’s a slightly inconvenient walking location but those transportation links make up for this. The free breakfast is more than adequate and the pool and surrounds are pretty good. The rooms are adequate but a little dated. We rated five stars because the staff were great, everything was as advertised and the breakfast was a great start to the day.
Convenient location
Las instalaciones son viejas. la cocina no estaba completa y aparte cobran el parqueo
property details on expedia claim coffee available at all times and that is not true..no coffee in lobby after breakfast hours..desk attendant told me that coffee machines in room can be used by guests to make their own! I chose this hotel for coffee availability but even coffee served at breakfast buffet is lousy so you do not drink alot..I found hotel to be penny foolish when I was paying 400 a night..location by busy road and across from waterfront (marina) park
Has great location and close to anything either via walking and or uber or city train as well. Great for larger parties as has 2 rooms. Lots of dining options close by and walkable distance to beach marina. Great stay will always be an option
It’s states it has a airport shuttle but does NOT
The Bay was Bayeutiful!!!
I was so impressed
Costumer service
Great location. Easy walk to waterfront and Little Italy. Stayed at the hotel for 7 days and will probably stay there again next time I go back to visit San Diego.
Close to everything and beautiful area
The shower was a real struggle. Too much grime to pull the lever up and get good water pressure. The tub drain was clogged a bit too. Was a good stay but the shower was a real issue.
Easy 5 min walk to Little Italy restaurant row. 7 minute scenic walk to water front at bay to catch a ferry to Coronado. 15 min walk to seaport village. 8 min Lyft ride from airport and 10 min train ride to old town.
I did not like that you have to pay 40 for parking a day.
Great location for access to bike trails, train, airport & walkable tourist areas. Good breakfast. Good pool. Good efficiency kitchen in unit. Only feature we didnt care for was that the bathroom sink/washup area was outside the bathroom. No privacy for grooming.
Family vacation for 4 days, 2 bedroom suite was very well organized and clean. Friendly staff and great service.
Great
Room was clean, hotel staff were helpful, breakfast was very good! The bed was super comfortable and good value for the amount of space. Location is perfect: close to airport, Little Italy, Seaport Village, Gaslamp and public transport.
Beautifully kept, nice breakfast, back patio and pool felt like an oasis in the middle of the city
Residence Inn Stay
Hotel is clean and staff is friendly. Ideal location if you do not have a car. Harbor Drive is close as well as Little Italy is a few minutes away, with a variety of restaurants.
Very close to the water and beach front dining.
Close to Little Italy. Not close to Petco Park
Muy bien ubicado, a una cuadra de la estacion de trolly y little italy, el personal muy amable las instalaciones viejas se tapaba lavamanos y tina bien en limpieza

Wonderful stay Great location
