Great place to stay.

The staff was really great and accommodating to our request of type of room. I would suggest a modification to the breakfast and not to serve the same thing every day, try and change it up every day as in maybe bacon or biscuits and gravy, just a suggestion is all.

Damp musty odor in lobby, several people staying at the hotel in our group had allergic episodes due to dusty ac or mold. Door handles broken in room. Will not stay here again

This hotel was very clean. The suite we rented was the cleanest hotel room/suite I've ever stayed in. Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. Housekeeping personnel super nice and they have a clean breakfast bar with delicious free breakfast. I gave 4 stars to "area around the property" because there was a person sleeping on the grass one morning on the main road about 1/10th of a mile from the hotel exit (not on the hotel grounds). However, the streets and areas around were clean and NO trash along the fences. We truly enjoyed staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott Houston West University. My husband has to return for medical treatment in a couple of weeks and we will stay at the same place. Shuttle service is available to and back from the MD Anderson Medical Center.

The place is easy to get on highway, very quiet and nice. I had been serviced from all stuffs at front desk. Staff Micheal helped me to join Marriott Bonvoy membership.

Friendly Staff Property needs upgrades

Hotel Staff were very helpful in trying to get us in a handicap accessible room with a toilet with grab bars and a shower. Staff were friendly and helpful with all questions. Room size and layout was fine but pull-out sofa bed was terrible - mattress was very uncomfortable. also the toilet would barely flush and we needed plunging multiple times. Breakfast was fien, although hours were very short.

Great location and very friendly staff. Convenient to have kitchenette. While comfortable and clean, the rooms are showing their age.

Family vacation

Rooms was spacious, kitchen has all required stuff for cooking.

Property is centrally located and convenient to Downtown, Kirby, West University and Central Houston. Area immediately adjacent to property is industrial but restaurants and shopping are available nearby.

Just can’t write this stuff!!!

The front desk staff were friendly but we had a run of issues…the TV was not working so we tried calling the front desk and found out the phone did not work…had to call front desk on our cell phone! The AC was REALLY loud in our room but then it sounded like it was about to die…and it did at 3 am!!!! So we called front desk, on our cell, and they were able to move us to another room across the hall which we appreciated but then they were not able to issue us a new key card for the new room - some computer glitch…luckily that was our last night so it was not a huge deal but would have been nice for something to go right!!! The hot breakfast was dreadful - juice machine out of order, sausage Pattie’s paper thin and hard as bricks, the only “hot eggs” were a plastic wrapped egg muffin…very weird! Oatmeal crock was scraped clean and not refilled…you get the picture here! To add to all that, they had some issue with the fire alarm not turning off so we had to listen to that ear piercing sound while trying to eat!! You just can’t write this stuff!!! LOL!!! It is a great location but not sure I would give this hotel another try!

The Icemaker did not work and it does not have a ice machine to just go get ice. Overall it was a great price location and set up for multiple people in one living area.

the attendant that received us was very polite and professional cant remember the name but he said he was from Michigan.

Breakfast and staff

Hotel room and grounds were clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was delicious! The only bad thing was the smell of cigarette smoke in the halls and elevator, my husband smelled it in the room. The windows open in the hotel room so our assumption is that smokers open the windows and smoke in the rooms. Mexican restaurant directly across the street was fabulous!

Overnight Stay

We enjoyed our stay. The room was very nicely furnished. You do have to pay for parking ($6) but we knew that ahead of time. It wasn't mentioned when we were checking in. We would definitely stay again.

The property and room were ok. The breakfast was ok. The staff were excellent. The parking charge of $6.00 per day is very lame.

Unresponsive

Asked front desk 3x (3 different days) to fix shower curtain rod. Told each time it would be done. Nothing done. Heartless dismissive apology upon checkout. They don’t care.

Needs an update

The hotel was older and could use an update. That is fine, but the carpet in the room was filthy with spots and sticky patches all over it. Would not walk around without shoes in it. Was a decent size, but again needed to be better maintained and cleaned.

This hotel has now triple charged me for the same night stay. I have called the hotel repeatedly only to be ignored and dismissed despite clear receipts demonstrating their error. Shoddy fraudulent business practices.

The bedroom was too small. The bed was too hard and creaked. The breakfast was inadequate.

Overall a decent place to stay. Maintenance response good be better along with follow through. When I have to open the toilet cover and push the bowl filler every time is not ok. Called and asked them to replace the float mechanism it was never done.

I enjoyed my stay

Air filtration needs to improve. All Queen beds only ( I prefer a king) . Other than that, nice, quiet, full kitchen and living room, TV and appliances all worked great.

Thank you! We enjoyed our stay. All the plates and utensils were in the dishwasher and it took us a while to figure that out.

NO HAIR DRIER

Found cockroaches running around. Reported to the manager. He offered one night free points. The points offered do no even cover on night stay. Repeated attempts to ask for follow up have not been responded to. I would never stay at this hotel again

Three standouts: Ceiling in room had significant water damage in multiple locations. In humid Houston, concerning what was growing where there were clear leaks. Advised to move my car from the back (closer to room) to the front as safer. Save for the daytime front desk, all other staff were confused most of the time.

Extended stay was exceptional! The staff was warm and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to make my stay pleasant and provided helpful advice when needed. The accommodations were clean and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped for food preparation. Highly recommend this hotel for short or longer term stays!

A few things made our stay disappointing and make it impossible for us to recommend anyone stay at your hotel: 1. Numerous hotel staff were walking around un-masked during a pandemic and a time in which the hotel has plenty of signage asking its patrons to wear masks. 2. Two days after checking out I received a $39.50 "Miscellaneous" charge on my credit card from the hotel and a $120 hold on my card. Turns out the $39.50 was a parking charge that the Hotel didn't include or mention when I booked and prepaid through Expedia. As far as the hold goes, no one at the hotel was willing or able to explain it. 3. When I called the hotel on Monday morning, October 18 to ask for an explanation, I spoke with someone who described herself as the manager. She went on to tell me in a very rude and impatient way that it was impossible that I had a charge on my card for either amount and that I should check with my credit card company if I had further questions. Not going back there!

Excellent place

Room was great! Clean and the staff got us a room early which was great since we arrived early and we needed to rest.

Walking distance to grocery stores and decent restaurants. I didn't use the pool, but it looked clean. The room was mostly clean, but I had to walk through a gauntlet of nasty smells to get there. The most common smell was garbage followed by urine.

They were awesome and I would highly recommend. They were speedy with check-in and very understanding during Hurricane Ida.

Our room 202 was above the basketball court. Go figure peopl on the court til I called the desk to chase them away. It was after 11pm. Also guests were noisy. Some were escaping LA from hurricane. I would probably stay again just ask for a different room.

Great friendly staff. Clean , but the place( our room at least) needs some major remodeling. Ex, Glue staining on the table; rust stains in the tub and a bedroom door that could not close.

Overall a great deal. Clean, comfortable, and spacious for a reasonable price. Only complaints were some outlets in kitchen not working and coffee pot not working, but front desk wrote it down to fix when I brought it up at checkout. Coffee was available with breakfast, so not a big issue. Would definitely come back.

Family fun with lots of space

Very satisfied with the room. The size was great. Family had plenty of room and no cramping. The kitchen and sitting area were awesome. Friendly staff all over the hotel. We loved it!

Enjoyable stay

Enjoyed the stay of seven nights. The hotel is Covid-safe, so is the breakfast. Rooms and common areas are very clean. Staff were helpful. We have stayed in this place a few times as we have family in Houston & will come back.

Stay was fir seven nights & was was very good. Due to Covid did not get the room cleaned during the stay nor had any other services. Checkin & Checkout were smooth.

I was told the the suite that i have booked online does not even exist at that hotel.

Superb GM

Everything was extraordinary... LOVED the level of care and support I got from Brandi who was SUPERB while staying there during a family emergency. The hotel was centrally located to a lot of stores, restaurants and hospital!

The only thing I didn't like was that the entrance and the sign were hard to fid, I almost missed it. It is easy to miss.

Satisfied Stay

The suite was very nice and comfortable. The kitchenette area was clean and tidy with one exception. My overall stay was exceptional and I will stay there again.

The hotel was old in the inside of the rooms . The tub and toilet needs to be replaced

Mislead

You should have announced on hotels.com that there would be no breakfast available. And since it wasn’t, we should have received some sort of discount.

Our recipients was a very Very Helpful with getting our rooms and guide us threw locations we were looking for. We will be back.

Breakfast buffet has good quality and options, room is clean, just kind of hard to find the right elevator to and from lobby. The shampoo bottle was not functioning, that's the only concern if cleaning lady can check more carefully to avoid guest inconvenience

The living area is comfortable and the kitchen area is friendly to family. But the sofa bed is not very comfortable to sleep.

Aaliyah was fantastic at check-in and made sure we had a room with a separate sleeping area. However, the room had an overwhelming odor of floral air freshener. We opened all of the windows and nothing could dissipate it.

Starting to show its age. Mattress needed replacing. location ugly but convenient.
