Columbus Marriott was situated in a Bank Building from 1925, beautiful Decor and Brilliant Highlights! The Breakfast Bar was in the Old Vault Very well done
Good Location!!
Great hotel for its location, close to the palace theater(walking distance) Has a great bar area to relax and unwind in. Had a couple drinks and the soft pretzels. The staff was very friendly and helpful!! The room we had was very nice, a lot of room! Kitchen, sitting area and separate bedroom area. Large bathroom with tub and shower. The breakfast set up was a little crowded in bank vault and took a while for food to be replenished. However everything tasted great! The price for a night’s stay was a little expensive. But over all good experience!!
Amazing property and staff. Made me feel so very welcomed. Will be back!
Front staff is amazing so nice and friendly
Guest services staff was exceptionally good
This property is in desperate need of an update. We will not come back again until a complete renovation has been completed. We will certainly check to see if it’s done before we book again.
S
Polite and friendly staff and clean rooms with convenient access to downtown. Good breakfast.

Pictures look nice but it’s old and not clean
The room was ok. The bath room was not clean and had mold on the tub and broken/water damaged wall paper. The carpet was dirty. Pillow covers were ok but the pillows smell. The counter did not tell me that the room cleaning is up on request. I did not have a clean room for three days until I found out.
I usually hate staying places where you have to use the valet parking, but the service was friendly and quick and not super expensive. A great option if you need to be walking distance to one of the local venues.
The breakfast
The ratings can’t be correct…..Room was so dirty Had to check out after looking at two rooms. Carpet had rinkles and stains, couch had stains, room smelled horrible. Have more to say but I’m just going to stop here.
We were in town for a conference at the Convention Center. The hotel is about 12 minutes away. That was a plus! The staff, particularly front desk, valet and bell hop were out standing. Highly recommend this hotel.
We did valet parking cause i wasnt about to dind a spot but the feie ds we came with found a spot our was only like 10 cheaper and much more convenient
Cost was my main complaint.
I would not recommend this to anyone who uses a car. You will pay about an extra $50/day to park your car since there is no self-parking; it is valet only. I had to drive around the block 5 times before a space in valet parking opened so that I would leave my car and go to my room. This should be noted in BOLD in any description of the hotel.
Great place just picked it out of different places in columbus. Wouls stay again for sure A
Great
Convenient to my meeting.
Great stay
Beautiful property
Convenient downtown location. Rooms were pretty good. Not too dated and clean. Front desk was often missing staff, though when they came back, they were helpful and friendly.
eco friendly and very clean.
Historic Hotel
This is a hotel set in an old bank building. It was nicely remodeled. Staff was superb! It was clean and the architecture was amazing. Many breakfast options. The area is downtown with multiple eating venues. There was a lot of construction so walking the sidewalks was not fluid.
Never again
Carpet in the room was dirty. Bathroom ceiling paint was peeling off. The furniture was old and the veneer was off the wood furniture in many places. Had to take the ice holder from inside the freezer to the front desk in the lobby to get ice (really?). Not enough linens and no pillows provided for pull out couch.
Banking look made it look congested.
Breakfast could use waffle marker if your Breakfast sandwich person. The potatoes on station were cold not sure how it was possible. Always room for improvement.
Room furniture needs to be updated
I booked a one bedroom but the room didn’t have a door.
I ran into a Few Shady looking people around the property.. was approached by a young Man wanting to use my phone
Close to every thing.
Staff were friendly! Always greeted with a smile. The suite was perfect for our stay as it gave extra room for large bags.
Shower head was broken, pillows were hard and lumpy. Whole place was shabby. Plus, I didn’t appreciate the bold expectation that a $7 tip was expected when using valet
Cool old bank
We arrived during snow and at night. The entrance was easy to find and clean. There was valet if we wanted. It is an urban hotel so parking is for you to decide. There is free parking, street parking, paid parking lot etc. we did the paid parking lot and it was fine. The hotel is an old bank which made it pretty cool downstairs in the morning for the kiddos to wander around and see details and old pictures of. The room was great. The kitchenette was more than we could have needed and had everything. The room was clean except the bathroom had some areas of concern. I cleaned it myself because I have kids and they touch everything. The tv was stocked full of options, the market was convenient, the restaurant options looked good (didn’t order), and the bar downstairs was a nice touch. The breakfast was hot and they had good options - eggs, meats, fresh oatmeal, breads and then all the packaged items too. It’s not just a prepackaged breakfast which we were thankful for. The breakfast area was inside the vault and my kids loved that. Would use again if we are back at the Expo center for anything else in the city.
The staff was super friendly and helful. Love the valet parking.
Friendly staff. Room was really comfy. Quiet. Unique layout. Parking was expensive... Not unexpected due to downtown location.
Great location
Great place to stay
The onsite restaurant was great however the person that checked us in at the desk was kind of rude. She didn’t make eye contact or really make us feel welcome. The other issues we had were with the room. The carpet was torn up in places with the tack strip showing, dented fridge, and the side of the mattress had a stain that resembled urine that was covered by the sheets which we didn’t see until morning otherwise we would have requested a new room. The other issue we had was noise level in the hallway in the middle of the night from other guests (lots of yelling and cussing/party type noises). Breakfast was pretty good and checkout was good.
DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY. The location is in a sketchy part of downtown and there is no safe option for self parking. The valet was non existent and I had to hunt him down several times (behind the back of the front desk staff area) to take our vehicle. One time we couldn’t find him and had to hand off keys to the front desk staff. The front desk staff were worse, unfriendly, flat, and uninformative. I had no clue breakfast was offered or that housekeeping would not come during our stay. The room was cold with only one heating unit on the far end of the room. We weren’t provided blankets for the pull away couch and had to keep calling for blankets. Worst stay I have experienced in a long time. Do not stay here.
Stay in Columbus
It was a great hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Staff was wonderful
The property in an old bank is great and really good Bourbon bar built in as an added bonus
Couch and chair covered with stains, paint peeling on doors in bathroom, no housekeeping services
Near wedding site
This property has a great location. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were nice and clean. I would definitely stay there again.
Beautiful piece of history
The building gave the historical 19 century vibe. Although outdated, I loved everything from the furniture, bedding, dressers, fridge, stove, dishwasher...the whole ambiance. I will stay here again!!! Staff was friendly and so customer service oriented!!!
perfect location for a marathon weekend!
Very nice room and very friendly staff!
How can places like this still excists?
No sistainability thinking at all. All bread is packed in plastic bag of their own and no recycling or reusing of the plastic. Plastic cuttlery, plates, coffe mugs and glas. Cant belive this! I do not recommend.
great stay
It was great. I could check in sooner than the normal check in time. The staff were friendly. Th breakfast was great. Overall, it is a great place to stay. It is close to convention center, many bars and restaurants.
This was clearly an old bank and the details that they left in the hotel were very cool (breakfast is served in the vault!). Speaking of breakfast, it was also very good, with many options, and they even had cold brew coffee on hand! The room itself could use a little updating, as the lamps were clearly older and they could put in some modern charging plugs. Overall a great stay and we will book here again if we are in Columbus in the future.
Great location with great food right on site
Quick and easy check-in. Clean room, but a little outdated.
I like the location of the property. The property is a bit outdated though. We had to switch rooms due to tub shower water not draining. The second room was not much better in regards to cleanliness and updated room.
Our stay was fabulous. The staff at the front desk were very welcoming and accommodating. When I called down to the front desk to request more blankets/pillows they were brought to our room immediately. The gentleman working the valet parking (I wish I would’ve asked them their names) were amazing. When we needed our vehicle it was pulled around in a very timely fashion! Overall, I would give our stay 5 stars!
The property was beautiful, use to be an old bank. The bourbon bar located at the hotel was a great place to relax And have a great drink!
The property had issue. The towel holder kept falling, the toilet holder keep falling off the wall. The reception was not interest in what she needed to say when someone approached the desk.. i would had perfer soneone else.
i wont go stay at this hotel
Overall nice hotel, very bad issues during stay
Overall nice hotel. Rooms were clean, most staff was pleasant. Breakfast average. If not for the issues below, I would probably have given it 4 or 4.5 stars. Upon checking in, credit card was swiped for incidentals as typically done. Not sure what front desk did, but it triggered multiple fraud alerts on my credit card for 2 days, which locked my card and made it unable to use. Once I cleared up the issue with my CC and the hotel, I was told reward points would be added to my account. So far nada. Day 2, after housekeeping was in my room, they left my door unlocked and open by closing the door latch to prevent the door from closing. I was out all day so that means it was left that way for many hours. Spoke again to front desk, got an apology and a promise they would do something for me. After returning from possibly the worst dinner experience ever from the restaurant right across the street, front desk told me they added rewards points to my account for the incident, which I confirmed were added. Checking out, had to leave real early for an early flight, confirmed day before valet was available 24/7. Well after waiting 20 min for my rental car, attendant reeking of pot pulls car up, which inside now also smells horribly of pot. Guess they allow workers to smoke pot on the job. Horribly unprofessional, and ruined my stay here. Cue the typical response we will use this to train the staff. Too little, too late. Never stay here again for sure.
Shower towels were sandpaper. Gym had 3 pieces of equipment (one broken) and one dumbell, that's it, and was 76 degrees with no ability to change temperature. Bar/Restaurant closed on Sunday. Tub had small crack in it. Not what I expect from Marriott.
Great location! Great staff! Clean Room
Great location! Great service! Amazing awesome staff! Great food! Great atmosphere! Rooms were stuffy. Air condition didn’t work well or wasn’t on. Many others complaining too! Room very clean and lovely. The windows were dirty and made it hard to see out at the nice view. All in all excellent! I will definitely stay here again!!!
Broken glass in other bed and was unusable. I was unable to get clean towels with out arguing with front desk. It was only 3 pm, but I had to count my dirty towels because my room was never refreshed. Then I could have clean towels. It was very odd. Trash never taken out, he guessed I could have a trash bag to do it myself. When I spoke to front desk in morning two different staff members said that is not their policy as if that made it ok. I am sad, I have used them before, but with all the options in the area I would never stay there again. The valet was fabulous! My check in staff was wonderful.
Staff were friendly, food was good. Easy to get to although not much to do on the weekend within walking distance. Good location for business stay.
Great place to stay. It’s an old bank!! Fabulous free breakfast in the former vault. Only con was the noisy construction site next door.
NIce big, clean room. Excellent downtown location. Friendly staff
Easy checkin, breakfast was great- Edwin was the best host at any hotel I have ever met! Room was clean . Definitely will come back!
The room we had was on the 9th floor, i believe room 909 and it was old and dingy. There was a chunk of carpet missing whn you first walk in up against the tile with the tack strip still poking out. There was what looked like black mold on the shower liner, and there was white splatters all over the bathroom vanity cabinet( looked like toothpaste splatters or something). Plus there was paint missing on the bathroom door around the handle, and it just wasn't the nice downtown hotel i was planning for. I wouldn't have probably written anything, but when you're staying in a what I thought was a higher end hotel these kind of things should not be there. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this was the most disappointing for these reasons.
Was one of the best downtown hotel experiences for me. The room was immaculate, The views were great. The staff very courteous and friendly, from the front desk to the ones serving breakfast! Wi-fi speeds were exceptional! Will use again if ever in Columbus.
I didn't like anything
Parking was a problem. When you are driving it is not clear what to do with parking. I called the hotel and was on with the auto-robot helper for over 4 minutes. I finally got to speak to someone and asked where to park. The person said “well I am in reservations, you need to call back and speak to the front desk.” I said “I’m here now, circling the block, can’t you just tell me where to go to park. The reservation worker then told me all parking needs done by valet out front. I think that needs put in the confirmation email or made more clear. No one wants to continuously circle the block and try to read for parking signs.
Weekend getaway
The breakfast was wonderful and the hotel has lots of character.
Hospitality was top notch convents to show we were there to see
The attached bar
Beautiful building? Renovations of this old building are exquisite! So comfortable and quiet too! Great customer service. I highly recommend it!
It was ok ....
Room was not very clean, kids stickers, wedding ring, full toilet filled with ice. Appeared to be a very quick room prep.
Valet service was excellent, both late at night and in the morning! Front Desk was excellent as well. All staff were incredibly friendly. Thanks!
they just need to update the building it was old looking & everything else in it, it was like a black to the 90s
Really cool hotel that was converted from a bank. A nice bourbon bar in the lobby.
Pleased, but room had issues
Lack of air conditioning that worked effectively in the unit. The air conditioning went down to sixty but it caused my friends and I to sweat overnight. I also didn’t get a bedroom suite like I booked, but Instead got a regular suite with a connected bedroom and living room. I also didn’t get assistance with public parking as advertised at the residence. The theme was really nice and so was the aesthetic and location of this hotel.
Close to venue
Close to a lot of attractions and places to eat.
Amazing service
My husband and I selected this hotel based on the bourbon bar used as the hotel's photo, and were disappointed to discover it was reserved for a private group throughout our stay. Upon checkout, Beth asked about our stay, and I mentioned this disappointment and she apologized and ran around finding some souvenirs from the bar that we could take with us. The bar manager came out and apologized and spoke with us as well. This incredibly kind gesture changed our whole experience, and we're so grateful for Beth going the extra mile to make sure we left happy. She is the kind of employee everyone wants to have at their company.
Great location. Very modern!
Awesome location. Nicely converted from a bank to a hotel. Very historic.
Liked attitude and professionalism exhibited be staff Would stay again should we return to Columbus.
Nice restaurant and bar. Nice renovation of an old bank building, maintaining some of its old charm. Breakfast was good. There was an issue with our car (lost key, eventually found), but the staff went above and beyond to make everything right. Much appreciated.
Stay was great and the room was clean and comfortable!
My husband and I were very impressed with everything about this hotel. The rooms and spaces were clean and well-appointed, the staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was hearty, and most of all, as a historical bank building, the architecture was beautiful! The lobby ceiling and walls were just stunning and we loved how some of the rooms/suites were offset from the hallway with a porch-like feel. Very nice all around!
Reasonable rate for a beautiful hotel. The inside of the building, ceilings and all when you walk in are beautiful. I had a fast, friendly check in that accommodated my special request amd exceeded it. Very friendly staff. Room itself immaculate and well appointed and well kept. Bed and bedding very comfortable, the sheets are ultra soft. I would definately stay here again or at any other Residence Inn by Marriott in the future because of this great experience. Oh- and the free breakfast was terriffic!
Parking was poor
I was visiting a friend I hadn’t see. In a while. The location was very close to where they lived. Very nice to have be in downtown area
Wonderful and Friendly Staff
The staff at this facility were extremely friendly and professional. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was above average.
Overall visit was good
Had a wonderful, relaxing time with Family.. And I appreciate you service and responsiveness of the Residence Inn Staff!
The property was excellent and I will definitely book it again when I’m in Ohio.
The location was ideal. 10-1in walk to Nationwide Arena. 5min walk to Ohio’s capital. 30min walk to Columbus Museum of Art. The building was quite unique, as were the rooms. Breakfast was great Nothing I didn’t like.
The bed was improperly set up and it left a metal plate sticking out that my wife bumped into, leaving a sore leg and bruise. Room 1113. They need to fix that. Loved the location and the room otherwise. Thought that they could do a better job of Breakfast. Fresh bakery would help rather than the packaged junk.
I already left a review. We DID NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. We left after 30 minutes because our room was disgusting. There was a rusty nail from a broken window and gummy candy on the ground. There was also chocolate that we had to pull out of our dogs mouth that he found on the ground. Chocolate can KILL dogs. So when we pay to stay at a “pet friendly hotel” and also pay an $80 pet fee, the bare minimum one would expect is for a toxic item for dogs to be left in the room. The couch in our room also had white stains and the bathroom door was held together with scotch tape. We cancelled this reservation and stayed at a different hotel. We DID NOT SPEND A SINGLE NIGHT IN THIS HOTEL. We expect a full refund and if not, will never use Expedia again. This hotel is borderline committing fraud posing as a pet friendly hotel when it is barely even suitable for humans.
NYE 2024
My fiancé and I stayed for New Year’s Eve. They need updating. The wall paper is peeling, the bathroom had no heat and smelled of marijuana. The bed sheets had a small stain on them. On a good note, the Bourbon Bar was nice and the hotel also charged my Tesla. Overall I would give them a 7.5. Definitely not an 8.8 which is what the rating was on Hotels.com.
