Residence & Conference Centre - North Bay

Good value.

Great spot for the price. Nice to have the kitchen and access to the games room. It's a student dorm so rooms are not luxurious by any means and beds are a little small compared to a normal hotel room, but for a budget option it definitely does the trick/is good enough and you can put those dollars saved to great use on your trip somewhere else.

Safe economical place to stay.

The price is definitely the selling feature. Facilities were clean (washroom, kitchen etc), but other aspects could definitely be better. Bedspread had some ominous staining, carpets ripped in areas, chairs stained. Air conditioning/heat was out of control despite us putting the heat on, max temp we could get it was 68F (better than the 58 when we arrived). External doors are not sound proof especially if you have guests in your hallway overflowing their rooms.

Excellent budget friendly place to stay. Three nights was the same price as one at the usual place we stay. Kitchen with stove and fridge was a bonus but you need to plan ahead and bring your own amenities. Not dirty but could be a little cleaner.

The property is very basic, it’s a college dormitory, but it provided a comfortable, clean and affordable option in the North Bay area. I will definitely be using them again next time I’m in town.

This is not a hotel. It is a dormitory. It was absolutely filthy. Soiled bedding, sticky floors, hairs on counter tops. We were offered a second room, which was worse than the first. We were refused a refund even though we didn’t stay. STAY AWAY!

I felt like this stay was amazing and I felt super safe

No frills stay at a college dorm/residence to save on budget. It may be worth it if you're not looking for hotel standards. The comforter and pillow covers were discoloured and needs replacement or a good bleaching and wash. Shower drain was not cleaned properly and had hair balls. Reception was very friendly.

The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable. Hwy 11 and 17 are easy access. Parking my truck with a kayak hanging off the bed is no problem. The college has their own security and saw them often patrolling the parking lot. I've stayed here multiple times and never been disappointed. Best value in the Bay.

Pretty good for a student resident.

These are college dorms so don’t expect the Hilton. That said, they are amazing value for what you get! Staff are friendly & helpful, the rooms are spacious and clean. Highly recommend.

Its a safe place to stay. We spent two nights and it was all comfy. Recommended for every one.

Decent little units ,easy to find,Staff was good for communication, in my opinion they should be a bit cheaper just because you aren’t getting close to as much as a hotel ,shower sprays water everywhere since it’s one of those prison showers that you just step in no border, also unfortunately don’t trust the pictures there’s no tvs or desktops so that kind of sucked. They do have a gym which I didn’t go to and an outdoor bbq that’s locked but you can get the key and bbq but you have to bring all your own things like utensils , plates, etc… overall it wasn’t a bad stay and it was quiet

Just what we needed

We got the accessibility room to be able to maneuver a wheelchair and it was great! The room was spacious with a roll in shower and built in seat, everything was a good height for a wheelchair. The toilet could have been slightly cleaner inside, but it functioned just fine. The beds were acceptable; about as good as some hotels. As noted by many others, there is no tv, but wifi worked great. We brought a kettle and a coffee press for our morning coffee and it was fine. All the main coffee places were only 5 minutes away if we didn’t want to make it. We were on the main floor, right by the main entrance so it was a little noisy with the people outside, but earplugs for me worked just fine. All in all, it was a great stay and I would highly recommend it.

This was such great option to save money. We were visiting with family at their house and only needed a place to sleep. We weren’t bother by the lack of a tv or orher hotel amenities. It had everything we needed without all the frills.

Property was clean and well maintained. The area felt really safe and parking was a breeze. There was no TV but the WIFI was super fast and alliwed for easy streaming of all of my subscription services on my tablet.

It was wonderful

This is my 4th or 5th time staying here. I've never had a bad experience. The staff are friendly and helpful. This might not be the place for everyone. I travel to North Bay for the fishing and kayaking. I try to fish a different lake each day and this location is perfect for access to hwy 11 and 17. The rooms are much quieter than in any hotel/motel I've stayed at. Things you should know about staying at Canadore. College., There isn't a TV, Micro wave or daily housekeeping, but you do have a full sized refridgeator and stove. You should bring pots and pans and dishes if you plan on cooking your own meals. The only time I'll stay at a motel in North Bay is when the college is in session. It's incredible value for the money.

Property was as advertised. But the property is a university residence; it lacks a kettle, toaster, microwave, dish ware. Next time I will b3 sure to bring a cup, spoon and kettle.

Bed was just ok.

Was cheap. Didn't have front desk person. Didn't feel that safe as an older person. No tv. Had to remove your garbage.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom. It was clean, had a simple layout, and was comfortable. Value-priced compared to local accommodations. It served its purpose for staying.

My significant other and I were harassed by staff nightly as we were just trying to take a walk around the property. Accusing us of disturbing the peace of the paying customers and fooling around just because we were out for a walk and looked younger. Guess that’s just the price you pay for a cheap place to stay but we will not be staying here again.

2 lg bedrooms with long desk. Double beds, comfortable. Great pillows and towels. Better quality than hotels. No tv. No microwave. No dishes or kitchen linens so if you want to use kitchen, bring items with you. Full size fridge and stove(I didn’t use). Noisy elevators so ask for room at ends of hallways.

Very good price and you got a suite 2 bedroom room with cooking facilities and free laundry facilities. Beds are soft and comfy. just one con: the towels are bad so you'd better use your own towel

All was great except there was no provision for Making tea in the morning. A kettle in the kitchen or few utensils might have helped.

Family get away

This was our second visit to the facility. It's a great family spot. Full kitchen means you can bring your own food and a big common room with pool table and foosball lends for a great night. Centrally located with a bed and hot shower. Prefect.

Not a hotel! Basic. No TV. Kitchen but no utensils so useless! Wish I'd known what to expect. Expedia let me down!

The proximity to major highways and shopping can't be beat. Hotels could learn a lesson from the college's housekeeping staff.

I've never stayed somewhere so quiet. Usually we need to use a sound machine to drown out hallway/outside noise for my toddler, but we forgot to take it out of the car and it wasn't even an issue. The mattresses, pillows and bedding were all super comfortable. I slept better than I have in 4 star hotels. We'll definitely be back!

Linens are provided. Kitchenette has no cookware or dishes. Very basic, kind of grimy, but the price is right. Would stay again.

Dirty Room

There were stains on my bedsheets and comforter, and although there were laundry facilities I do not see why I need to wash my own bedding? Towels were dirty upon check in. I ended up checking out a day early and finding a new location to stay.

Perfect location for what I need. Second time staying here this year and have been very happy. Very clean friendly staff. My only problem was the battery in the smoke detector went off in the middle of the night. I called the front desk and they came over and changed the battery. I think they need to review how often they replace the batteries.

People at the desk were very helpful and professional. Beds were comfortable and the building was quiet.

Quite place near amenities

Quiet and nice view from the 5th. Floor. Free parking close to the door. A bit unclean on the carpet. For the price, it is worth it!

Clean, spacious and excellent value for the money

The property was clean and quiet. However the right venue was very hard to find. The first building I went in to had limited info on where I was to go to check in! There was 3 choices. The room was clean, sparse but comfortable. It was very quiet. I’m not sure I would pay more than we did on a return trip.

For a college residence I say it very nice place to stay for a weekend in the summer excellent I like staying there, we will do it again for sure.

Decent room for a great price.

Room was clean and well kept. No weird smells. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not often you can find somewhere nice to stay for under $100. Will stay here again if traveling through North Bay.
