Our rooms were dirty when we walked into them had to go back down to the front desk to get new rooms, had asked for connecting rooms but were instead given rooms very far apart
Pet friendly
I lake all the service and how clean it is.
The hotel staff were very chill, bar was fun.
Didn’t need to leave the property.
Was there for a business event and was very happy with the property and its dinning and entertainment options.
Room coffee
I stay here every other week (3-4 nights a month) so while this might sound silly, my core complaint is the coffee machines in the room. No respectable hotel has coffee machines that require guests to run boiling water through single use PET plastic - a known carcinogen and totally gross to essentially get a single use plastic with coffee grains to a near melting temperature. Every other hotel above $250/night has moved to the small nespresso machines that use aluminum pods. I seriously might stop staying here due to this - I'm here for business frequently, wake up needing coffee in my room to start on emails/shower before work and this is a big deterrent. Otherwise, it's a good location, rooms are clean and staff is lovely. This is just one of the more notable things that should be addressed by a high-end hotel.
Pictures don’t do the hotel justice. The spa amazing. The staff friendly and knowledgeable of the area, very helpful.
The best hotel in Reno… bar none! Best in class customer service. Beautiful accommodations - well appointed room, spectacular restaurant and perfect river front location.
When we checked out one of staff members were not nice and not welcoming. They didn't even smile or ask us about our stay. They questioned a for request email thinking it was coming from me. We felt we were treated as if we re criminals. Not coming back here again.
My favorite place to stay in Reno for sure.
Lighting in the room, especially in the bathroom was insufficient Front desk staff, however, were great Restaurant was above average; somewhat limited menu, but what was on there was very good
Checking in was great as we arrived early and they accommodated us immediately. Rooms were nice, but small. Dining in hotel was good, but didn't like the area around the hotel. Didn't seem safe. Parking not included in stay.
Enjoyed the pet friendly stay at Renaissance. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The spa is welcoming and relaxing. We enjoyed the Shore Bar and the patio by the river.
Great location
We had the BEST stay here. We got an amazing upgrade. Corner room with magnificent views. Every single staff member was professional and kind. The restaurant is really good. You can sit inside or outside with a front row river view. The fresh brioche bread with avocado or made as French Toast was a favorite. If you need to be in that area of Reno, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Great location
Great place to stay. Hotel can be a bit loud based on traffic noise, air conditioner, and other guests. The staff was amazing, the facility was clean and up to date. Only suggestion is to upgrade pool area, looks the same as 8 years ago when I last visited.
Very good
Everything was good. We had a nice stay
Great clean and safe hotel. Classy place to stay in Reno
Spa was a disappointment. We arrived 30 minutes early to relax at the spa before our spa package however it took 25 minutes to check in as others were checking out and we were asked to wait. Once we were escorted in we changed and immediately we were called back for our massages. Massages were good but our package was supposed we be a massage and facial. it was not a facial. Just a mud mask. Not worth that price of the package. We were also supposed to get a tshirt and we were asked what size shirt we wanted on Friday when we confirmed our appointment. However when we checked out they did it have our sizes for shirts! Why bother asking then? We ended up with tote bags instead. We confirmed our appointment 3 times too-By email, text and call- excessive and annoying. I understand if we didn’t reply but we replied each time!! Then we I tried checking out after our spa appointment the credit card machine wasn’t working after resetting the system 2 times the attendant ended up charging my card manually. Very time consuming as we were had dinner reservations we were trying to get too.
The hotel property was kept very nice. We weren't to keen on not having covered parking. We were also very displeased with the fact that we paid over $300 for 1 night yet had to also pay $19.50 for parking per 24 hrs and Wi-Fi was not included and we would have had to pay (which we certainly did not). We were on the 5th floor. There was one ice machine and one drink vending machine. The vending machine was complety empty. Not one choice was available. The day we were there the weather was in the 90's. We choose to try out the restaurant in the hotel. They had huge sliding doors open to the seating outside. We sat down at our table and quickly realized that it had to have been in the 80°s for inside dining. I used my menu as a fan the entire time we were seated. It was so hot and uncomfortable. We rushed to eat, just to get out of that restaurant. For the price we paid for a one night stay, we certainly figured it would had been more enjoyable. We won't be referring this hotel to anyone we know.
I didn’t like that there was no transportation to and from the airport.
The shower handheld attachment didn't work and the AC smelled foul, like urine. It was most unpleasant.
I was disappointed in this hotel. The rooms were dark and it was not as clean as I would expect from a higher end Marriott. The location is not super safe to walk around at night. But the beds were comfortable and the common areas were good.
Clean
I was in a room directly below the gym, at 4:00 am was woken with very load banging, Room was not very clean, and was very used. Hotel could use an upgrade.
Good hotel
We were there for a funeral!
I loved this hotel. I thought the desk clerk was most helpful. He helped me get an uber driver several times, and called a cab company for me. He is?most helpful and knows how to treat tgw?guests. He was on working today, Tuesday, at 12:00 Noon, check out time. He also checked me in on February 29th at around 9:00PM at night. The server's, and day and night manager's at the Shore restaurant are wonderful and gracious. Ruby, my spa attendant, at Refuge Spa gave me a Hot Stone Massage that was excellent. I will definately co e back, and stay at the Renaissance, and will recommend it to other's.
Beautiful property right on the river. They have a really nice lounge where we had the best smoked old-fashioned we’ve ever had. They have a couple of dining options, one has bocce lanes and an arcade, which was super fun with our college kids. It’s downtown, so the surrounding area is a bit unsavory, but the valet personnel keep the riff raff out. All in all we were very happy with the hotel.
Very nice upgraded room.
Trevor at the front desk and Ian at Valet Service were both super friendly and helpful!! The Shore restaurant was outstanding!!
Staff were amazing! Easy to enter property and on site parking. Wish the parking lot was covered, but it was on property so convenient. Decor is modern and lovely with an up scale feel. Room was really nice. Restaurant and bar area was great. Stag were so friendly and food was excellent. Will definitely stay again.
Well good overall but just lacking customer service at the cost levels of this hotel.
Located in downtown Reno close to the City Building, the Pioneer Center, and overlooking the Truckee River, if you want a non-casino downtown stay, this location is good. They have a good restaurant, a huge, very cool arcade/bocce ball/pool tables/game room for all ages. Staff is super friendly! Bed was pretty comfy, just decor was going for posh angler and it was executed well, but rooms are really dark, and carpet was fraying and ripped in a few places. Just needs a little baby facelift.
Excellent Stay! Staff Was Amazing!
Most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Also great shower.
Beautiful property that is well maintained and walking distance to many restaurants
Amenities listed are wrong. I had no bottled water in my room, no room service menu, no alarm clock and no coffee/tea set up.
Drab, dark and spartan. there was nothing inviting about any of the spaces. (OK, the restaurant wasn't too bad.) the main lobby looks like an old subway terminal, and the rooms look like someone with $75 tried to spruce up a high-end prison ward. there was nothing comfortable or relaxing about any of it. The staff were generally polite and friendly, but even that seemed forced (possibly the environment?). Was the designer trying to channel Terry Gilliam's "Brazil"?
I love the cleanliness and the smell! Very clean and staff are very approachable. Highly recommended.
Johnathan was very accommodating and understanding when we needed switch out our room and took care of us immediately. I highly recommend a ninth floor corner suite. Ginger at the spa was also fabulous in getting us booked for our services at the spa when we came in last minute. We had a wonderful stay, definitely will be back.
Cleanliness of the property
loved the hotel, the staff was very pleasant and provided excellent service. Our room was great.
We didn’t like the room given to us. It was overlooking industrial AC units which were noisy in the night. The suite was gloomy with limited lights and seating area was not well organized / not comfortable. Restaurants on property had very limited vegetarian options and restrictive timings. Not much activity to do at the property.
The Place In Reno To Stay!!
The staff was friendly and courtious. Room and hotel very clean Food was great. And dog friendly! It made our stay just a little less stressful not having to worry about our dog at home. Definitley comming back!! Tom and Suzannah
Staff extremely responsive to all needs
Great location. Very close to Truckee River Walk, Spa was awesome. Bocce place connected to the hotel offered a lot to do for teens and adults.
We like hotel
A nice enough hotel but for the price, they could have at least made sure there was conditioner in the bottle in the shower.
Second time staying here. Bar was nice as was the restaurant. Game area was very fun also
Perfect location
Love the location, nice hotel would stay again. We had a suite and the lack of furniture was strange. need a comfortable chair plus a couch
Great property, rooms and helpful staff.
Walls have strange thumping noises…loud throughout the night. Small beds instead of queens.
Nice hotel, staff is great and helpful, safe since I am a female and travel alone for business. Parking is on the same property and close, parking is monitored all the time. I don't stay anywhere else in Reno. Close to the freeway.
Great rooms but food selections and quality mediocre
Love staying here while in the Reno area. Great bar and bartenders are amazing. Wish i could say the same for the food. Disappointed with menu and quality of food. But the buttercake dessert was very good.
Great hotel!
Fun weekend
We really like this hotel. It is nice and comfortable, the staff is accommodating and there is lots to do in the hotel and close by. We did need more towels😊
The property is gorgeous and the staff were very nice. Dog friendly property which was great and the restaurant on the river is AMAZING! If you go as women alone or a group of women please be careful walking in the neighborhood around the property at night.
Overpriced for what it is
Overall the location was great and the staff were friendly. But for paying $325 for a basic room I think it was way overpriced for what it was. We ended up getting the breakfast for 2 during checkout which was $35. We were very disappointed in the breakfast. It was a basic continental (which many hotels would offer for free) the waffles, sausage and potatoes were so hard from being over cooked and left in the warmer-they were not even edible. The hotel was just ok. The bathroom door was just a slider and didn’t even lock which we thought was very odd. We ate dinner at the restaurant and I had an overpriced warm Cesar salad which there was a large piece of lettuce I couldn’t even eat because it was the end of the Romain and very hard. I did mention this to them and they took it off of our tab which was nice. I don’t think we will stay here again unfortunately.
Great staff, clean rooms with plenty of space. Will definitely come again.
We will definitely stay again! Great friendly staff and super dog friendly for our pups.
QUIET AND RELAXING EVEN THOUGH WE WERE IN DOWNTOWN
Everything was amazing
Checkin was smooth & fast with very friendly staff. Our comfy room was clean, uniquely decorated with an unobstructed view of Reno & the mountains. Cool game/bocce ball room & bar. And of course great location along the Truckee River.
Sad
No toilet paper, placed us on a floor w an entire baseball team, and we didn’t get the upgraded room w view we requested.
Cute
It’s a cute hotel. Kinda overpriced and you have to pay $15 to self park. Not sure what valet parking is. But staff are great. Massages at the spa were amazing. No pool or hot tub open this month. :/ Restaurant on site is super cute
Best place in Reno
This is the only place I stay when visiting Reno. Had an issue the first night with my room but Ben took care of it the next day. See ya next time, thanks!
Nice room. Clean hotel with good restaurant. Surrounding area a little sketchy.
Nice hotel with excellent staff
I booked a suite room, but I couldn’t have slippers and the fridge was empty. I asked the front desk if I can have two slippers and some bottles of water, but they told me they don’t have any slippers and asked me want some drinks from the restaurants. I paid almost $400 for my room, but they told me I have to pay more to get some bottles of water. And I booked this room because of the bathroom. I saw the great bath tub on the website so I was really excited about it; however, the bath tub was not working right. And the floor was made of marble, so it is too cold to walk. When I go in to the room first, it looked really good, but amenities are not enough for a suite room. I will never come back.
Gem in Reno
The best hotel to stay at in Reno !
Disappointed that they did not offer WIFI at no fee
super clean, guys at the front desk are great, cleaning staff is always checking up on the room, love the arcade and restaurant. valet was pricey but love the attention to details and fast service
Great location, good restaurants & bars. Room was tiny for the $$, the heater/ac was tornado loud nonstop, the door lock stopped working & the bathroom door was too hip for a latch.
I enjoyed the river view, food, and service at the hotel. Will stay here again when in Reno.
Nice clean, and not too far a walk from the Casinos and restaurants
Being in the corner penthouse unit had me expecting a certain level of opulence . For the price point this unit fell far short of its billing. There were dings in the sheetrock that showed up as white chunks on a dark grey wall. Trim was splitting at the corners. Overall the roof just looked tired and due for a remodel. I will assume the square footage is what the price was based on because the amenities and the decor fell far short. The meal service seemed to close early at 9 & 10 pm so nothing was available in the entire resort. The young lady at the bar apparently was not having a great night, until the next day we visited the bar and possibly she was having a and weekend. We were on there for 3 night for see some concerts but I know I would not book that location again.
Great property; Reno is a dump!
Clean, nice property with great staff. Reno is just a dump - between the homeless, drunks, and mentally ill people all around the downtown/approaching midtown areas felt incredibly uncomfortable leaving the property on foot.
We ate there twice and the food was excellent, good servers. We had a partial view. Expected more for Three hundred plus per. The room was nice, but the bathroom door almost took my finger off.
Trip was great even though the balloons were rained out. I would stay at the renessance again
There was a lot to do on the property itself: bocce ball, video games, spa, pool, gym. Walking distance to midtown and some downtown casinos.
.
Great staff! Very welcoming ! Clean place close to everything!
Super nice room. Hotel is beautiful. Spa is lovely. Food is great.
Total Misrepresentation
Paid a total of $500 to stay in a suite here for one night because it had 3 features advertised: large soaking tub, room service, and continental breakfast. We were coming back from camping for 4 nights and those 3 things were all we wanted. We arrived and learned at check in there was no room service. Then we went up to the room and discovered a dingy regular sized hotel tub. I called down and learned there were no rooms available with a large tub. The next morning, eager to get on the road, we went to grab a quick continental breakfast and leaned there was only a sit down restaurant. Since we hadn't eaten dinner (doordash so messed up our order and our food never came, a whole other story) and were starving we ate and the food was delicious but we really didn't have the time and it was really not what we wanted. The hotel refused to refund even part of the fee or offer us anything when I asked. Plus there was no free wifi, which, come on, if you're charging $500 a night and can't even get the room right offer free wifi or something. Picture is of what was advertised vs what we got.
Good restaurant in the lobby, they were doing construction or something above my floor. Buzzsaws we’re going off at 7:30 AM. That was an abrupt wake up call for sure. Room was nice and clean!
Great place, great restaurant and bar!!
Friendly and timley
Best customer service. Excellent food and drinks. Timely and very friendly. Will return.
Very nice staff, restaurant was amazing, spacious room.
It is a nice modern hotel and the bocce bar was cool for kids and adults alike. Prom was going on and there were lots of teens. The only complaint is the bathroom door in the rooms is a barn door style and doesn’t shut all the way and kept rolling back open. There was no lock or way to keep it shut.
👍
Enjoyed the stay very much!
This hotel is nice but at the price WiFi and parking should have been included. The lighting in the room was bad. And one of the elevators was out of service.
Classy hotel
Clean, smells wonderful. Great gym. Was a little bummed to find that we needed reservations for the breakfast we prepaid for. Therefore it didnt work with our plans that day. That was a COVId social distancing/ space thing, but a heads up would have been nice.
Clean easy fun
Is very clean fission I had a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to staying there again
The property was absolutely perfect. Grest staff and rooms. One of the night desk workers was rude. But everyone has an off day so i cant complain
Great location in downtown Reno. Beautiful hotel!
Overall I enjoyed my stay, I was very disappointed that the spa bathtub didn’t work that was one of the main reasons I paid the amount I paid to get a suite room.
Disappointed and passing the buck
We booked a suite with soaking tub a month in advance. We paid the highest rate. We tried to check in early but were told nothing would be available until 1. When we did check in at 4, the suites with soaking tubs were gone and we were told it was first come first serve. When we got our room, the bathtub was worn through the enamel and slippery, housekeeping had only allowed 2 towels, and the view was of the roof instead of the river. Hotel blamed it on Hotels.com but they control who they give rooms to. Disappointed.

Great hotel for Reno stay
The staff at the Renaissance are consistently kind, helpful and conscientious.
