Friendly staff, great selection of restaurants. Red Level is definitely worth the extra money. We will absolutely return
Red level staff … absolutely magnificent … they were helpful and responsive to all my needs and questions. I really want to come back as this was one of the experiences of a lifetime.
Beautiful facility and super helpful staff. Love them
Friendly staff and great location, not too many rules and regulations so you can just get on and enjoy your holiday on your terms. Highly recommend.
Adult only Redlevel area felt like a small hotel but with benefits of large luxury hotel. Lots of great pools.
Beautiful everything
Staff very good with lots assistance with several issues during our stay, would definitely recommend
Lovely resort in a wonderful location. Very easy to get around the island via car so highly recommend a rental. The resort is quite nice, peaceful and relaxing with very good restaurants.
Excellent quite facility in a big hotel.
Amazing property with a nice public beach and promenade right outside. Friendly staff, great food, good drinks, nice room, incredible views. Can’t ask for much more. Great way to spend the weekend, or a week. My one and only complaint were that the light switches in the room were difficult to operate at times.
We have stayed RedLevel at Gran Melia Palacio de Isora on 4 occasions now going back to 2016 but to be honest Gran Melia need to up their game if this is "flag ship" "Red Level" offering as the hotel is now looking quite tired and the rooms are needing a complete rework now. Not good frankly and still quite expensive. The room was not very clean, the furniture in the room was in poor condition with doors that don't close on wardrobes and drawers that stick. The bathroom was very tired and not clean in places. The restaurants offered poor quality food that is sold as high end dining at a high price. One meal was inedible. We ate out of the hotel for the rest of the holiday at local restaurants and paid far less with very good quality. I don't mind paying for great quality food but this was far from it. Sun beds around the red level pool and in the red level garden were dirty and in poor condition in some cases.Overall very disappointing. Gran Melia just lost a good customer.
Beautiful hotel and fantastic staff. Food was genuinely outstanding. Breakfast was a highlight having been served by the most friendly and welcoming staff only to be beaten by Gabriella in the Italian restaurant whose warmth and attention to detail were exemplary
This is our second stay at the Red Level and we weren’t disappointed. The level of customer service throughout the hotel is exemplary, the grounds are immaculate, the cuisine varied and first class and the accommodation and housekeeping excellent. If I could sum this hotel up in five words - “A little bit of paradise”.
A gem of a hotel and staff in Tenerife
Excellent hotel - lovely staff who were extremely helpful and friendly. Plenty of choices to eat both in the complex and in the area. Really enjoyed our stay and would go back there again.
The incredible staff make this beautiful hotel into something truly special. Every single staff member is so lovely, friendly and will go above and beyond for you. We had a faultless stay and loved every minute. The only negative to me is the dark bedrooms and bathrooms. Couldn’t see to put on make up! But would definitely return. Gorgeous special staff and hotel
3 star not 5 star. Don’t stay!Rude staff, bad food
Manager isn’t trained, as she was told all our problems and didn’t resolve any or offer anything in return. From bad service, to rude staff, dirty rooms, bad food, it goes on and on. Shocked at how bad this hotel was (and only due to the staff) The views, buildings and pools are incredible, but mean nothing with such bad staff. And a manager that is unable to do her job! Do not stay!
This is our ‘go to’ place for winter and autumn breaks and look forward to returning each year because of the RedLevel concept. There have been subtle changes over the last 5 years, not all for the good, as the accountants seem to have forgotten
Fantastic staff, great facilities and nothing was too much trouble.
Excellent property and very tranquil in January. No noise anywhere, very peaceful and very relaxing - probably because the kids are all at school! There are sections for adults only which we stuck to as well. The on site SPA is great too with plenty of treatments available too. The vegetarian options need to be reviewed and added to as well but we were only there for 2 nights so it was sufficient. You will need to pack long sleeve shirts, trousers and shoes to dine in a couple of the on-site restaurants which we were not expecting but enjoyed the food in the other restaurants that we dined in. it was 24C during the day but the nights are cold, so jumpers and jackets are a must. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again.
Just returned from a lovely break at the property. Disappointed that the spa wasn’t open during our stay also the Red Level breakfast was limited so we preferred the choice at Pangea. The Red level lounge was also disappointing the coffee machine was not working most of the time. On the plus side the staff at the open bar were very attentive.
This is our 5th time at Red Level and we have already booked again for January. Fantastic in every respect!
We have been going to Gran Meliea Palacio de Isora for a few years now and it's still a lovely hotel with good service. However, it's looking a little tired now and is in need of a thorough refurbishment program in the red level rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful but a couple of the red level pool bar staff are "over familiar" and bordering on disrespectful of the customers using innuendo and being very noisy shouting across the pool deck to each other. Some staff training is needed here just to remind them of the customer's need for a relaxing atmosphere at the pool and to me respectful.
The fitness instructors Victoria and Antonia were fantastic - great Pilates and Yoga overlooking the sea - shame about the condition of the decking
My girlfriend and I had the most relaxing stay. The place is great value for money. We received 5* service throughout out stay and would definitely come back.
I do not like that reservations have to be made for everything from assistance with starting the hot tub to eating dinner.
First and foremost, the staff at the resort is what made this property great. The staff here were exceptional. Always had a smile on their faces and were always willing to help with anything you needed. Secondly, the resort is huge. Every aspect of it was phenomenal. Great number of facilities to cater for everyone. Staying at the RedLevel was even better. Not as busy as the rest of the resort, and was peaceful.
Amazing hotel , great staff. Food a bit expensive and average - an area of improvement . But otherwise lovely stay and beautiful venue!
Very friendly and enthusiastic staff Amazing hotel and facilities No adults exclusive wing Nice location and views
A beautiful and well maintained resort, the service is excellent.
Setting and gardens. Enthusiasm and courtesy of all staff.
The property is excellent, staff excellent. This was our second visit and it was not as good as our previous visit. We felt the exclusivity of the red level had been lost.
Amazing
Staff were very attentive and friendly, couldn’t do more for you. Absolutely beautiful and stunning. Very enjoyable experience the moment we walked through the doors. Will definitely be coming back
The staff were very attentive and enthusiastic. They always took time to see if they could help you and seemed to enjoy their work which makes staying at the hotel a really pleasant experience. The scale of the resort makes it ideal for a short break as there’s plenty to occupy you without the need to explore anywhere else. Overall I would recommend staying here for R and R if you like a bit of pampering!!
THE BREAKFAST NEEDS ATTENTION NOT AT AII 5 STAR
Great place but I think they had staffing issues at breakfast Two of restaurants were closed - not told before booking!!
Nice stay
The staff were very attentive and provided anything required. The food and service were first class. The cleaning of the rooms seemed a bit as hoc, in fact there were a pair of shoes left in our room from the previous occupants
Excellent property and generally a brilliant stay. Could improve on food quality in the restaurants and general staffing in the restaurants, the buffet has much to be desired but that could have just been on the day we went, as others did not have the same experience.
The privacy of Red Level while having access to all hotel facilities and the village.
Beautiful Hotel, Great Service!
The situation was perfect, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The lighting in the room was not particularly good and the room itself not very soundproof. The dining options were very similar.
Very nice hotel, red level experience was great, staff were very friendly and there were a few simple extras the hotel does that really added to the experience. If anything the restaurants could have been a bit better. Overall great
Wonderful hotel, big modern rooms, amenities and location. My only criticism is that the restaurants are very overpriced compared to the local restaurants in the area.
Stopped in a Red Level Deluxe Lounge Access Partial View with Whirlpool.Room was absolutely lovely. Red level is adults only with added benefits of own pool and breakfast facilities plus a 5.30 happy hour with free drinks. Hotel has many pools and restaurants. Staff were attentive and friendly. The only issues were (1) Red Level breakfast was a bit of a shambles on times - staff were overrun and food was often not quite up there - they also have an antiquated way of recording for orders and drinks orders in paper (which took much longer) whereas even the small restaurants of Alcala were doing it with tablets. (2) Rooms are not soundproofed so you could hear your neighbours .Hotel is close to small town of Alcala which has several good restaurants which we did use as we didn't eat in the hotel much - I recommend Sauco and Toni's (for Lamb chops and Roast Lamb) in particular.
It's the people that make the place - wonderfully helpful staff
A delightfully luxurious experience with outstanding levels of service. The complete lack of children in the red level area made for a totally relaxing environment which was very welcome.
Superb hotel that ticks all the boxes. Great location with fantastic sea and mountain views. Tranquil gardens and pool areas but a short walk to a small, vibrant town. No need to leave the hotel complex as there are several nice bars and restaurants to choose from and evening entertainment including live musicians/singers and a weekend nightclub. Very efficient and friendly staff. Excellent housekeeping. Don’t miss the daily Red Level “happy hour”!
We went to RedLevel for our honeymoon. While we enjoyed our stay, I would not recommend spending the extra cash for RedLevel as opposed to Gran Melia. We were looking forward to the adults only, relaxing, luxurious resort. Although there were no children at the pools, it was impossible to relax with adults practically yelling at each other all day which was worse- staff said nothing to them. Another supposed benefit of RedLevel was the daily 1 hour happy hour, which was also not worth it. It was so crowded that unless you arrived early, there were no seats available, and all the snacks were gone. For being so much more expensive than Gran Melia, we expected more from RedLevel. We took a deep sea fishing excursion (which Redlevel was not able to help us set up, they said they didn't know anyone) and asked if the hotel was able to cook our fish we caught for us. Redlevel staff simply told us "no". However, when we went to the Gran Melia side, we were told no, but the staff went above and beyond and called multiple restaurants until they found us one that would cook it for us. Our "RedLevel" room was directly next to Gran Melia, we could hear children crying from the restaurant below. Basically, we felt as though we were paying extra money for no reason
Fabulous location which is not built up at the moment but still enough places to eat outside the hotel complex. The Red Level standard does make a big difference to the holiday experience. Would love to return next year.
Very good resort, I will recomand to my friends. Thank you
Exceptional hotel and first class customer service.
Red level good but in a very large and spread out resort Red level facilities are good but expensive for product Please do explore excellent eating places in the village at fraction of the price at the resort Staff are polite
This is my second visit this year and it lived up to expectations, it’s the staff ( particularly at breakfast and bu the pool) that make this hotel special!! The only change I felt didn’t quite work was not being able to make your own coffee in the morning but that’s very minor. I hope to return in January, would highly recommend!!
Overall a good stay
Overall a good stay. Very large complex Red level rooms distributed all over. Breakfast and evening happy hour is good Short of staff as butler service takes very long to answer Also expensive for the product offered
Wonderful staff, great attention to detail, a lovely hotel.
Fantastic Hotel, beautiful setting, good food and great staff!
Amazing facility. Wonderful staff and an army of pleasant cleaning personnel who ensure everything is spotless and refreshing all day and night.
Red level luxury
This hotel is grand and luxurious! If you can afford the red level, I highly recommend it, the staff are relaxed and caring, always willing to help and nothing is too much. I cannot fault them, they made our honeymoon and holiday perfect! The rooms were clean and the breakfast's, you have 3 places to choose from, were fantastic! Book dinner early as they book out. The black sand beach is located just a small walk, maybe 100m or less outside the resort and is also stunning! I highly recommend this resort to anyone who is thinking about it, red level or not, it's worth it!
Red Level Gran Melia
This has to be the best hotel on the island go and enjoy
Incredible from start to finish
We stayed at the red level and just everything was spot on. The room was very clean, the staff went above and beyond on any requests and were fantastic, they enhanced our experience massively. The pool was clean, quiet with complimentary water, suncream and snacks available every day. The evening meals were fantastic particularly the tapas and terrace. Would stay here again in an instant. Couldn’t fault anything!
Out on its own (Quality hotel)
It is the best resort I’ve been too and I’ve been to some top hotels
Fabulous relaxing break
This hotel exceeds expectations. Red level is relaxed and comfortable, staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. The adults only area is fabulous and the rest of the hotel is available if required. The restaurants were great and service was excellent.
Excellent resort
Great food, lovely service, super resort. Red level areas and little extras well worth the upgrade.
Beautiful resort hotel in Tenerife
From the moment we walked in we felt welcome and at home, with first class luxury service. Red Level has fabulous surroundings for adults and the staff can’t do enough to help. Recommend that you plan ahead for evening meal bookings if you can, as restaurants book up quickly. Highly recommend and will be back
This is a fantastic facility! If you're considering the Gran Melia, go ahead and spurge a bit and go for the Red Level. It is worth the extra. We were treated like very special guests, and it appeared all of our fellow Red Level guests had similar experiences. This was definitely one of the best experiences I have ever had at any resort. Now, a few little things to note. If you have read many reviews, you've probably seen the wet bathroom floors mentioned. It really is a bit of a problem. The design of the shower allows a significant amount of water to run out onto the floor of the main part of the bathroom. Its a shame because the design and look of the shower is great! This problem would be very easy to correct by raising the shower door a centimeter or so and adding a threshold. Perhaps this is something that can be done at some point in the future. If you are at risk of slipping and falling, I suggest you do not use the shower, as there will almost certainly be water on the floor. There is a separate tub that can be used instead. Also, note that this is not a non-smoking campus. We were often greeted by the disgusting stench of cigarette smoke when we tried to enjoy our balcony. Most people will find the restaurant prices to be quite expensive. We had full board and used that circumstance to choose the very best items on the menus. In general, the food was quite good. But honestly, the very impressive buffet was a delight and really all we needed. Really great resort!!
It was an amazing experience Lovely staff. The food was tasty enough for me but it was ok. See you next year
Ideal place for relaxing
Catered well for a last minute booking of 10 people. Red Level is well recommended!
There's the 'regular' part of this resort which itself is outstanding. Then, there's Red Level at this resort which is the adults only more exclusive art of this resort. Wow! The facilities are absolutely top notch. The resort is clean and very well maintained. The staff are all so cheerful, friendly, and cant do enough to help. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely .
Red Level at Gran Meliá is a joy. 3rd visit and it never disappoints. The only comment is that the restaurants can be a hassle. Luckily the local village has fantastic eateries at great prices. This is a personal view as there is nothing wrong with the food if you like a la carte.
not worth the expense of red level as most of facilties are in main hotel which it to large to have any special feeling JUST QUIET ORDINARY
Nice hotel for relaxing break on red level
We had 4 nights on the red level as a couple. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was large and cleaned daily. WAter from shower couldn’t be contained by the drainage so leaked onto bathroom floor but apart from that couldn’t really fault it. Lots to do with entertainment if you want it or you can do nothing and laze in the sun and eat. Food was good. Breakfast in La Terrace snd dinner at Japanese our favourite. We would definitely return for a relaxing break. Our first time on a holiday with no kids so thought might be odd but actually was quite nice. Families were in the main hotel so there was a nice mix.
The Red Level adults only was superb apart from...
Room had poor electric lighting which made it too dark and the bed was soooo hard.
fantastic experience at red level
Everything about this holiday was excellent. From the time of arrival to the time of departure not much could be improved. Excellent staff throughout the hotel and excellent facilities. Loved the Red Level experience of feeling like you are in a separate adults only hotel but with the vast and varied facilities of a large hotel which you could dip into if you wanted. The sunbeds in the garden area were lovely. Breakfast freshly cooked each day was fantastic. Fitness staff (especially Lee and Carolina) were enthusiastic and made aqua aerobics and fitness classes fun. Terrace restaurant amazing food and great service from all of the staff there. Can't wait to return.
Red Level Heaven
We have just returned from a short break at Gran Melia Palacio and if you're thinking of staying there would definitely recommend paying the extra to stay in the Red Level. From the moment we arrived we were given a welcome drink before being whisked away by our own butler on a buggy to the Red Level reception. All of the reception team were excellent but a special mention to Mario who was always cheerful and went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The Red Level has its own adult only pool and free tea, coffee, water and sun cream are available all day long with additional treats of fruit kebabs and smoothies - a genuinely relaxing experience. A mention here to Paolo one of the pool waiters/attendants who was always cheerful and made a mean gin and tonic. In addition to this there is an open bar with free canapés every evening between 1800 - 1900 in the aptly named Liquid Lounge. The rooms were spacious, exceptionally clean and Clarins products a welcome touch. We tried a number of the restaurants and were very pleasantly surprised that our half board package allowed us to eat at the fine dining restaurants with no extra charge - and Le Terrace and Duo were definitely worth booking. Would we go back - absolutely, but only to be spoilt again in the Red Level.
Such an amazing place
We spent 6 days here. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and lovely. From the bell staff to the waiters, everyone was so friendly and smiley. The red level pool was so tranquil and peaceful that we definitely could’ve stayed longer. The food was yummy (we tried all of the restaurants) and the red level breakfast areas looked onto the sea. It was our first time and we would love to go back!
Gorgeous hotel!
The hotel is gorgeous, very comfortable, big, lots of swimming pools, lots of place, different restaurants and bars, nice gym and spa, life music every evening. The Red level part is calm and relaxing. Service is fantastic, there are lots of staff ready to help and serve any time. The location of the hotel is not interesting, there is absolutely nothing to do there. However there is so much entertainment in the hotel, that there is no need to leave the hotel at all.
A great hotel with excellent staff and service!
Our second stay at the Red Level bit of the hotel. Service and staff are excellent. Food in the restaurants are geared up for half/full board packages - nothing special and sometimes disappointing. That said I really like this hotel, but we have learnt to explore the surrounding areas for restaurants.
Excellent hotel resort with good selection of restaurants and helpful staff.
Fabulous
Best hotel I've ever stayed in. Fab facilities and excellent service.
Weather a dampener on a lovely resort
We were a bit unlucky with the weather which highlighted the limited things to see and do outside of the complex but staff were great, pools mostly clean and restaurants nice
Worth the extra cost for the red level service.
Truly 5 star service with Red level. Worth the extra cost to get red level. Red level area felt quite separate from the rest of the hotel which was great. Hotel is huge but red level area felt more boutique like. i had half board luxury which meant that I had 3 course a la carte menu at all the restaurants included which was good value. The aperitif and happy hour at the garden lounge was great. Especially with the sunset and beach view. Also had jacuzzi on balcony which they filled for me at a time that I requested which felt really luxurious. If you are looking to get away from it all and from the kids ,for a luxury break this is a great choice.
Perfect place to fly and flop. If you want to relax, the pool, sun beds and gardens are perfect. If you want to be more active there are plenty of facilities and activities to do. Evening drinks in the garden start your evening off with bubbles and nibbles courtesy of the hotel. The butler service available is wonderful. Phone ahead for a jacuzzi to be poured and ready to end your evening off.
Great Stay
We chose the Red Level adult only option and had a great experience for the entire duration of our stay. We felt very well looked after from the moment we entered the property. Every member of staff made us feel as though we were their most important guests. The hotel offers a wide choice of excellent dining options all of which exceeded our expectations. The pools and associated facilities were great and the Spa was very welcoming and the staff were very friendly and professional. We only had one minor issue during our stay and that was with the laundry service but this was dealt with promptly and professionally. Overall this was an extremely enjoyable holiday and we will certainly be going back there.
Happy holiday
We had a very enjoyable stay at the gran melia, I would certainly recommend upgrading to red level. High points being the general standard and condition of facilities and the attentiveness of staff. No real criticisms, the only negative being surprised the gym did not have an exercise bike. Although dining standards onsite was fairly good, it was a bit overpriced, so dined out 50% of the time.
Below
Hotel TOO LARGE for us but red level facility meant that didn't matter. Red Level service is exceptional the food very good and the facilities excellent. All in all a most enjoyable stay- thank you RED LEVEL. Only comment that Red level could do with its own Bar .
Impeccable service
Could not rate this hotel highly enough, staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and all requests were met with a genuine smile. My daughter and I were in need of pampered relaxation and we got that and more. Already planning return trip!!
Red Level service was excellent and the location of the hotel was great for the nearby town of Alcala where there were fabulous restaurants with food and drinks a lot cheaper. Although quite pricey, food in Nami and Duo within the resort were brilliant. Staff were great, never too much too ask for anything and always with a smile. Julia the pianist in the piano bar was also provided beautiful music after a long day by the pool! Rooms were spacious and spotless and extremely comfortable. All in all a great trip and we would certainly return.
Gorgeous Hotel
Wonderful stay at Gran Melia - the Red Level experience was definitely worth it! Service level was outstanding and the facilities and activities available were just perfect for the type of holiday we needed. We are coming back very soon!
Red Level service was exceptional
Staff were absolutely first class. Meals were delightful. Room was appointed to a fantastic level. We met many people who are repeat customers and it is easy to see why.
Excellent
Everything about this hotel is excellent. Definitely worth going to the Red Level as the main hotel is very big, and this part is blissfully free of kids. The staff are great, especially Alex & Mohammad. The daily happy hour at sunset was a nice touch. Nami restaurant (pan Asian) particularly good. Recommended
A haven for relaxation
We booked this hotel purely for a luxurious stay and that’s what was delivered. The staff at Red Level are superb; so friendly yet completely efficient and professional in all they do. In my opinion some restaurants are better than others but it would surely be impossible to please all of the people all of the time. In short Red Level did exactly what it said on the tin and i was very sad when it was time to leave.
Just fantastic hotel
From the moment we arrivedthe wholeexperiance was special
Amazing hotel
I took my girlfriend to the red level for her birthday and it was the most amazing hotel I’ve ever stayed in the staff are so friendly and would do anything for you and the facilities are great I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I’ll definitely be coming back here again soon
Excellent Red Level Hotel.
The Red Level experience is fantastic. Rooms, food, Staff can not be faulted. This was our second visit which turned out to be better than the first. nothing is too much trouble for the staff. the pool is warm and clean, well positioned to catch the sun all day.
One of the best
Faultless - the extra money for red level adults only is so worth it - tranquility, amazing free cocktails and canapés, coffee and cakes - no need for lunch. One of the best places I have stayed in
Lovely hotel and helpful and friendly staff
Perfect
Room: Despite nearly losing my Boyfriend due to the size of the bed, our room was lovely! We were lucky enough to have a Jacuzzi bath on our balcony which we took full advantage of & the Red Level staff were kind enough to gift us with drinks to enjoy with it one evening, as we were celebrating a Birthday. The only small criticism of the room was our inability to get a hang of the many many light switches! Facilities: The Red Level Pool area was very peaceful and was made even better by the delivery of complimentary fruit & smoothies throughout every Afternoon. As lovely as the Bali beds looked, we found them to be a bit of a rip off! From €100 we found this to be a bit steep for a bed that is in the shade. Restaurants: The Hotel has a fantastic selection of restaurants, all of which we found to be of a very high standard. Our favorite's by far were the Nami Tepinyaki & Ocean Italian restaurant. Entertainment: In keeping with the standard of the rest of the Hotel ,the entertainment could not be faulted! On the Friday Evening we were entertained by the talented Hotel show group & an amazing saxophone player! Location: Our only criticism of the Hotel would be how far out from other Towns is it. Although we didn't want for anything during our stay it would have be nice to be slightly closer to other restaurants & bars etc. The staff could not have done enough for us & our stay was near perfect from check-in to check-out! Already looked at other Melia resorts - Thank you!
We had a fantastic holiday, lovely and relaxing. The rooms had everything you needed and more. We will definitely be returning very soon.
Fantastic stay, hotel staff amazing.
Service excellent. Hotel staff fantastic customer service. Spotless and clean, food options very good. Lovely 5 star resort and would visit again. Red Level exclusive and child free. The only minor criticism is drinks are expensive so people drink far less than I've seen by the pool in other places... false economy for the resort as of more reasonable they would sell more. Expect to pay €20 for a beer and a cocktail by the pool.
Superb Resort
Really loved this resort, beautiful place with amazing service from professional and friendly staff. The room was lovely with superb facilities around the resort. There always seemed to be plenty of space for a relaxing holiday where everything you need is provided for. We loved the liquid garden lounge area during the day while the main area of the hotel provides a nice environment for evening dinner and drinks. Breakfast is very good and the free snacks and drinks in the early evening for Red level guests is a nice touch. Plenty of options around the resort for dinner which have alternative options of different days. We liked the fish market restaurant and the BBQ on Fridays. Although the Japanese restaurant was not the best value we thought (lived in Asia for 6 years). Make sure to book your dinner reservation earlier that day too. Overall a great place for a relaxing/romantic getaway, we hope to come back.

Amazing Hotel, amazing stay
