Great service, top clean accommodation, top position

We enjoyed our stay here. The view was beautiful. We got to see dolphins swimming from our balcony, which was amazing. Friendly staff as well. Groceries and food within a block.

Family staycation

Reception lady was wonderful very informative and helpful, units age huge, definitely could do with a reburb with walls ect but overall 10/10

The location of this property is the most impressive point. Shoal Bay is second to none in beauty. The resort has a great outdoor pool and indoor pool with 3 spas. A nice stay and a second for us.

Perfect for a short break

We had a three-day winter break at Shoal Bay, staying in a water view apartment with balcony. Access to parking and the apartment was simple, it was perfectly clean and contained all the amenities we might need. A small quibble - we would have preferred a thicker blanket on the bed, although the air conditioning kept the room perfectly warm. Also, there is not a lot of distance between the balconies, so a private conversation might be difficult when all are occupied, and especially in the warmer months. Overall, though, we had a perfect short break.

Weekend away for a coastal hike

The resort complex and bar is very good for a weekend away. Free off-street parking is very handy. Young check in staff are friendly and helpful. My room was at a discount rate so I was happy with what I got. Bed was comfortable. Living area had basic provisions. Bathroom was a bit dated but functional

We’ve been staying at the Ramada Shoal Bay for 10 years now and just love it! Great location right on the beach with views over the bay and Tomaree headland. Restaurants, cafes and bars on the doorstep. Unbeatable!

Perfect long weekend away from Sydney

Shoal Bay is a little paradise and this resort is a lovely place to stay to explore the area. We had a beach view and the studio was a very good size and very comfortable. The spa bath was a bonus too.

Very professionally managed. Generously sized room. Good little kitchen. Tastefully fitted out and decorated. Quality tv. Only issue was that someone was smoking in a nearby room and smoke seeped along corridor and into our room. Non smoking notices required in rooms.

Lovely place to stay, central to dining, walks and swimming. Location fantastic, very clean and great amenities.

The unit was excellent and it had a had a nice water view. I also took advantage of the 25m lap pool when it was too cold to swim in the sea. The resort is next to a nice club and a couple of restaurants and there are nice walks with terrific views.

It was located in the heart of Shoal Bay. We stayed in a 1 bedroom waterfront apartment. It was clean but the kitchen was slightly dated but clean . They had excellent customer service becaue we had 2 maintenance issues which turned out not to be. But maintenance was up within a few minutes. My only slightly negative comments were around the check-in. There were 2 separate desks that we interacted with. One seemed to be about whether we were Wyndham Club members, which is like a time share. She asked if we were interested in hearing about it and would get a $100 just for attending. Any activities we wanted to do such as SUP, kayaking, etc. we had to me Wyndham Club members. No high pressure tactics; just didn't expect it. Then we were referred to the 2nd desk who had all our details. No problems. It was just confusing. Remodelling is happening next door which makes some noise during the day. Not sure how long this is going to occur so if you're thinking of staying there, you might ask about this isse when you make your reservation. I would recommend staying there.

For the price it was quite good

Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful I spilt some nail polish on the floor at 3:15 approximately on Monday and I immediately reported it to reception. No one came before I left for an appointment at 4:10pm that day. Next morning I rang reception as the iron wasn’t working at around 7:45am and asked for a working iron and again reported about the nail polish on the floor. Around 9am I again rang reception regarding the iron as well as the nail polish that I had spilt on the floor on Monday! Eventually I had to get dressed - without being able to iron my outfit as no one had bought the iron to my room. As well they had not come to check out the nail polish spill ! When I checked out, I returned my “keys” to reception and mentioned that no replacement iron was delivered to my room and no one had been to look at the nail polish spill. I was given an apology regarding the iron and informed someone had been to the room and tried to remove the nail polish, without success, as the polish was dry by that time. The receptionist also told me that Romada had a carpet cleaner and would use that and there would be no additional costs It’s disappointing that I had to call reception numerous occasions regarding thes issues

Always a pleasure to stay at the property. Great location overlooking the bay. Lots of excellent food options around and friendly people. Property is clean and well maintained and the pools are perfect for the family to have out.

Would have been better had there been no smokers on their balconies. We could not enjoy the great view from our balcony that we paid extra for because of most of the rooms next to us had smokers and were smoking on their balconies. We were never told this was permissible.

Was trying to access Netflix on tv The 2 young girls at reception were totally helpful From instructions had to login to my google account and then access Netflix If hadn’t been told what to do wouldn’t be able to access through “streaming” instructions and wifi Have stayed in other places and they have given me a google streamer to access But the girls so helpful In every way not just that Room was very clean and tidy All in all great 👍

We stayed in a room with a partial sea view and loved it

The bathrooms and kitchen are desperately in need of an update. The bed was comfy everything was clean and the pools and fitness area were great but for the price we paid I’d expect newer bathrooms and kitchen.

I did not realise the shower was over a bath. I would check this in future, as I was unable to get in. Otherwise very comfortable.

The propeis a little run down, although at the heart of everything we wanted to explore.

The hotel is part owner units. My unit was really difficult to get to, out the main entrance, through a car park, up 2 sets of stairs (no lift) and down a hallway where there is another car park. Phones didn’t work in room. No daily service. Staff were really nice though!

Lovely resort, well maintained and across the road from the beach. Our hotel room was clean, comfortable, roomy and had a very well appointed kitchenette. The pool area was lovely and catered for a variety of ages. There was also an indoor lap pool and spa upstairs. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We will definitely be returning.

Nice location

Very nice room with lovely view

The amount of space in the 3 bedroom units is amazing and the view incredible. We had 10 adults and 2 children in 2 x 3 bedroom units and had a wonderful time using the facilities as well as easy access across the road to the beach.

Equally as good as the Resorts and as relaxing as Waikiki Beach

We were very spoilt by Ramada, we stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, we recieved a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. Beautiful location, great service & our room had everything it needed. We’ll be back, thank you

What a beautiful part of Australia. Lovely beaches and plenty of restaurants. Club next to Ramada was amazing. Lovely food and drinks. Sight seeing in the Port Stephens area is beautiful.

Great place especially for kids. Accomodation was great too except the lounge suite is so hard you can barely sit on it. Other than that , great staff

We stayed in a beautiful two bedroom apartment which was clean & spacious, easy access to parking and the lifts. The resort itself was beautiful, with a great pool area both indoor and outdoor and the resort is located directly across from the beach. There are plenty of restaurants and local stores in the area within walking distance. We would gladly stay here again! :)

I was really looking forward to the acvomodation being rated so well. Dissapointed the room had dirty walls, the lounge was as hard as a brick and the access to the spa was a hike in the weather with no shelrer from the rain. The foyers and the lifts were dirty and not maintained. I have a chemical burm on my thumb, because the last morning the maintenance person put chemicals in the spa we were sitting in. Very unhappy, couldn't recommend and wouldnt return.

unfortunately through no fault of Ramada we had no power for three days because of weather conditions. The shops, restaurants etc where all closed. wee had one day of the booked 5 days where the weather was fine and most shops and restaurants reopened. We spend the time mostly reading and relaxing.

Room smelled like mold/moisture. Was old and outdated. Tv was old and outdated. Casting was intermittent. Ran out of toilet paper after 2nd day. Vending machine didn’t accept cash or phone payments

The only thing that I do not like is that the room does not have a Dish Washing Machine. Everything else was really good

The hotel details on hotels.com do not do the venue justice, it was far better than I anticipated

Room was spacious, impeccably clean and beautiful. Ambience of the bedroom was really cool and super comfy bed. Very quiet throughout the day, beautiful ocean right in front, I loved everything about the hotel.

It is an amazing place to stay, exceptional, clean comfortable and spacious and the staff are amazing

The staff were lovely and helpful, the location was great walking distance from everything, it was just the room was very dusty bathroom floor needed a good scrub, and carpets needed to be washed. I know they get a lot of traffic guests coming and going but need to clean better. I was a cleaner for resorts.

Pub next door noisy even after 12am

Very old and rundown. No fly screens on any windows or doors so very hard to get fresh air into the rooms.

The location is perfect. No fly screens in rooms problem for alergic reactions to mozzie bites.

Amazing location . Overpriced for a property that isn’t kept very well. Needs renovations, better cleaning standards and service level. Didn’t get the room made over unless asked. Can only use additional amenities if an owner.

Beach across the road .

Everything about our stay was good, except for the cleanliness of the room. We stayed in the Barrington building, top floor, ocean view. It is in real need of a deep clean. Upon walking in the first thing we saw were drip marks down the wall. The couches were covered in stains and grime. The doors and light switches were grubby. There was something questionable on the underside of the toilet paper cover. The balcony railing was covered in spiderwebs.

We were there to celebrate a birthday and relax after a stressful few months, the weather was good, so it was relaxing around the pool. Location is good, plenty of good restaurants wishing walking distance, so no need to worry about driving to go out for a meal and a few drinks. As it I an older property the rooms are spacious.

Enjoyed sitting by the pool and the room was very spacious.

Stayed in a one bedroom deluxe beachfront apartment. Lovely clean beach directly opposite, good pool area. Beach bar, Bistro & Greek restaurant below all wonderful. Although kitchen & bathroom is a little tired, the rooms are spacious, clean & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect place for a getaway.

The location is amazing. We had a beautiful apartment at the front. Fabulous views, great facilities. Excellent cafes & restauranta around and shuttle bus available to the heart of Nelson's Bay.

The property was okish. However the bed and mattress was old and sagged in the middle. Trying to sleep was trying not sure I would book this again!!

The property just looked tried and needed updating, the lounge was dity and could do with a good clean our balcony was fillthy and we walked in dirt though the unit
