Not a very good hotel, good if you want just to sleep in it, but the location is very good
Near everything
Perfect location for transportation. Walkable to regional train station, buses, taxi’s and hop on hop off bus location. Wonderful Italian breakfast, kind staff and wide open windows lead to street view.
Location was very close to Roma Termini which is why we chose it. Front staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast (which was included) was excellent
The overwhelming good of this property is that it is in walking distance of Rome Termini. It is definitely a working class neiborhood. I never felt unsafe walking around at night. Lots of people are out and about. Staff is business like. My room would have been ok but I had no warm water for my 3-day stay and staff seemed unable to solve the problem.
The property is in a convenient location for the Termini/Metro & within walking distance of Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps & Colosseum. The Metro is easy to use but can get very crowded. The Property is very dated & in need of modernisation, eg: old key entry, old overhead shower over the bath & the lift broke during the night twice in our 5 night stay, alarm bell ringing for over an hour from 2am until 3am. Basic breakfast & not a massive choice. Some staff were very friendly & the maid service was excellent.
You get what you pay for. I wasnt expecting much, but i was not expecting it to be this bad. dirty walls, no shower curtain. smelly room. very limited hot water. Room was small, but that was no issue. On the plus side, Bed was extremely clean and made fresh with new sheets. Would I stay here again? Probably not. But for a short 1 or 2 nights this might be an ok place.
The free breakfast option was great. However, the rooms were not ventilated properly and there were mosquitoes flying in the room making the experience less pleasing.
Dirty. Bugs. Bathroom omitted a foul stench through the drain that emanated to the room even with the door closed and vent on. Room was so small, we were unable to open our suitcase.
The staff at the front were wonderful to deal with. They welcomed us after a terrible experience on the train and made us smile. We really appreciated the personal connection, after a long day of traveling. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of options.
The rooms are VERY small and outdated. The shower had no curtain. This is a perfect place for backpackers, I guess.
Room and bath great. Amazing location for the price. Staff more than nice. We stayed one night. Had dinner so close at Piccolos. Train station one block away to get you anywhere. Coming back!
All good
Check in was a breeze. Location is very near termini. Staff at the front desk - lady with glasses - super great
Good location
Close to the train station and front desk staff excellent
This is an old property, the A/C is terrible; at nighttime we opened the window because it was too hot. The staff said there was nothing they could do to improve comfort (no ventilator). Breakfast is good, cold cuts and cheese, diversity of breads, yogurt...
Closed to the station.
Both the location and the service were amazing
The breakfast buffet was substantial and provided lots of food options. The staff were accommodating and kind. They helped us with booking reservations and purchasing tickets for events. The hotel is within walking distance from the Termini Train station and many other historical sites. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Staff were friendly and welcoming but the property was well located near to the train station and close to several small cafes and shops
The location is great 5 walk mins from Rome Terminal, quick check-in main issue was the bed, I booked a single room but the bed was so small you can fall off
Had an excellent time in Florence and it started with a great experience checking in for our hotel. The lobby is beautiful and the staff are excellent!! The room was amazing! Clean warm and comfortable bed and it was so nice to have a balcony. It’s in a quieter area so that was nice as well. Just would maybe not want a room on the 5th floor as we were woken up at 4am every morning cause the restaurant was right above our room. It was great all in all!!
Not a four star as they claim..
First of all, i was expecting i would be able to sleep since i was tired of traveling and i expect to be able to sleep. But it was hot in the room. I called at 9pm and nobody can fix it. They don’t have a fan as well to provide. The pillows were not comfy. Good thing it was only an overnight stay for me. Nice though it was close to Roma Termini station and staff was friendly.
Perfectly Appointed Stay
The hotel was perfect for travelers coming into the Rome Termini Train Station. It was close enough to walk to the hotel, clean and with several restaurants nearby. The lobby cafe was perfect to get a nibble and chat with the personable barista. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.
We loved our short stay here. Stayed on the 5th floor and the room was perfect for our stay. Check-in was easy with very helpful staff. Only negative, rooms could do with coffee of some kind in the room for those arriving late or departing early. There was an electric jug but nothing to use it with.
Staff was wonderful but the property was significantly rundown.
It was perfect for my needs
It's got a good location but rooms aren't what there advertised
Thanks for the stay!
Amazing place and so close to the centre!
Very easy access to the metro, which is full of useful shops (money exchange, electronics, sim cards, etc) and has a taxi stand in front. Lots of eateries nearby. Many attractions are within 25 minutes walking distance. My room had blackout curtains, good air conditioning, and was very quiet. I could even sleep during the day. Breakfast was buffet style between 7-10am, no limit, with coffee in different styles. Room was cleaned everyday sometime between 10am-2pm, when I was out touring. The bell on the key is heavy, but can be removed, so the key itself is more portable. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would book here again.
To have a better shampoo. Everything else was good.
I enjoyed this stay a lot. Clean room, safe, working elevator, nice little balcony. And we had strong working AC. We only used the room to sleep, but I’d definitely recommend it. The staff in my opinion were very nice and very helpful. Too many complaints about this place in the reviews, it was a great experience in my opinion.
Good for one night if you want to be closer to train station
It’s ok for one night
The hotel and furniture in the rooms is old, tired, and outdated. The lobby was nice and there is a little snack and coffee area that was nice. The beds were very uncomfortable. The bathroom was cramped, but the shower water pressure was great.
This hotel was not what we expected at all. The room was small, crappy, the bathroom seemed like an afterthought. There was no shower, stall, or curtain, forcing you to take a shower on your knees. I’ve never been in a hotel where the water change from hot to cold at random. The breakfast buffet was barely adequate, and the only reason we stayed at this hotel was its proximity to the train station. I would not go back. The staff was very friendly, but the hotel was not up to our expectations. In the middle of a heat wave in Rome, and the facilities were not designed for heat. Or air conditioning, and absolutely no air circulation in the building. We almost had to go to the train station to cool down.
The air conditioning hardly worked and we were sweating most nights.
The property it self and quite old but the staff was amazing. I was quite disappointed with the lack of options for the breakfast
Horrible experience!
The hotel was noisy, not very clean, no internet, no air conditioning. Breakfast nothing special. This hotel should not be included in your hotel list and definitely not worth the price.
We had a good stay. It was clean and great location
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at
We stayed here for only one night, so we not too particular with the place. Well we should have been. First impression, we walk in and tell them we have reservations, they say for what? I said for a room, they gave us a dirty look like we could not possibly be staying there. It was hot outside so we were in shorts and tank tops. We get there and the air conditioner isnt working. So we go to the front desk and let them know. They have someone come to look at it and it turns on then off. Once we go back abother person tells us well they shut the air off after a certain time in October. So it was 80° in our room, the windows dont have screens so keeping them open is not an option. And it was hot anyway so it didnt help. The room was dusty, dingy and old. The beds were very uncomfortable and the bathroom had a bathtub with no curtain so if you wanted to shower it went all over the bathroom. It was a step up and about 2 inches from the toilet and 4 inches from the bidet. So you have to be very careful getting in and out. Would be very hard for someone who is larger to get in or someone older. This hotel is from the 80's and has not been maintained.
It’s ok
It’s ok
Wouldn’t stay here again
Run down hotel that has seen better days. Aircon in room didn’t work, fan ran continuously and couldn’t be turned off. No shower curtain or screen in bathroom meant that the shower soaked the whole room. The mattress had a sharp broken spring in the middle poking through the sheets and when we turned the mattress over the other side was covered in brown stains. Breakfast was terrible - stale bread and tinned fruit salad. On the positive side it is in a good location for the station and was very clean but definitely not worth the price and we wouldn’t stay here again. We have stayed in much better hotels in this area for a similar price.
Very nice hotel. I would definitely stay here again. Rooms are small but very nice.
Dirty and really outdated facilities
Room had a really musty smell as soon as we walked in. There were stains on the bedsheets and the lampshades. Under the rim of the toilet looked like it had not been cleaned in quite a while. The “free” hotel WiFi was only for the main lobby area, which is essentially useless if you plan on using any electronics during your stay. The wooden door of the cupboard where the fridge was hidden appears to have been chewed on. The key they give you to the room is connected to a heavy weight so it is inconvenient to bring with you anywhere. When adjusting the air conditioning, the system would start making a noise and then just shut off until you raised the temperature higher. Breakfast was decent. Not a ton of options but was relatively tasty for what it was.
Great location if you are travelling by train. It is right behind the train station. It is about a 40 minute walk to the main sites. Good hitel for a couple nights in Rome. Room was small but good.
It’s nice property and clean we really like it but the staff are not very friendly
Old style building.
Terrible room conditions
The dirtiest hotel we’ve ever stayed. Completely different pictures are provided on the site, we had 2 rooms booked and they were just awful. Dirty pillows covered in a old pillow case, dirty floors in the room with stains and hair all over. Same dirty floors in the lobby. No soap in the room, no shower curtain. Bed bugs!!!! Do not trust reviews of this hotel - completely disappointed!
First : they didn’t change our room for 3 days . Since we arrived I saw stain in the bedroom sheets and I mention to the reception desk twice . They never change . The breakfast isn’t nothing like you can see on the pictures website . The AC terrible and we payed full price for superior room . We stay 5 nights and was very disappointed. The best thing is very convenient to the Termini station , but around the hotel is very bad . To many homeless on the street and smell urine everywhere. I think people have to think 3 times before book this hotel, because after you check in they will charged all amount the nights in your credit card . So no way or discount after . Was the worse experience in hotel in two months vacation in Italy .
Overall happy - lack of AC and Shower curtain only real disappointments
The aircon was not working properly. It was hot in our room.
Mini break
The hotel was in an excellent location , 5 mins from the main train station and some good restaurants near by , the buffet breakfast was just ok but still worth the extra £3
The AC did not work and the room was the size of a closet
For better or worse, we were in Rome during school vacation week so first off the hotel was packed with teenagers. It also was unusually warm for mid May and the hotel has not yet turned on the air conditioning. Our room was on the top floor so you can imagine how hot it was on the top floor. They did not even have fan they could lend you. The location was excellent. Two blocks away from the Termini train station. Lots of nice restaurants within easy walking distance. The price was right given the value of the neighborhood but I would suggest if you’re going to be in Rome between May and October and you want air conditioning, you better confirm that it’s working.
Comfortable stay
Great stay. Clean room. Very close to temini, shop, attractions.
The location is magnificent, but the hotel amazingly immune from the frenzy and other challenges around Termini. The lobby is elegant, the price is extremely reasonable. The staff is friendly and helpful far beyond covering the basics, going out of their way despite being inundated by bus tours etc.
Centrally located, walking distance to tourist sites.
I liked everything, and I'm sure there will be more attention paid to eco-friendly operation soon.
No hot water \ no solution...
Unfortunately the experience was really bad. I had to find a different place to take a shower.Water in the bathroom would be constantly changing from extreamately hot (burning) to cold (freezing) every 30 seconds. Reception told me there is nothing to do in my first day as it was already late and on my second day at the hotel situation was the same. Reception staff is polite but not really helpful. I had to shower in different hotel (my friend was staying there)
Misleading info on air conditioning
One thing you should know before you book this hotel (especially in the summer) is that although it says it is air conditioned, the air is controlled by the hotel. You cannot set the temperature to what you want and most importantly, it is only turned on at 4:00 pm and shuts off at midnight, regardless of the temperature. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels with air conditioning but have never encountered a situation like this. By the noon hour the room became quite uncomfortable. The room was clean and the loby was pleasing to the eye but because of the air conditioning I would not personally stay here again.
Some reviews were discouraging but this hotel didn’t disappoint me. Clean, spacious enough, very clean, and newish bathroom, comfortable bed etc. I booked a Deluxe room which was really good value. Nice touches, like the bottle of wine. Close to the railway station, which was important for my short visit, it was quiet and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Old hotel, without reparation; unfriendly staff; old, damaged towels; beds were not what we have reserved and our complaints were ignored; breakfast without eggs or other warm options; breakfast space mostly too crowded. Not the quality I expect of a 4 stars hotel. I will never come back to this hotel nor would recomend it to anyone.
Shower was a difficult set up. Hand held shower head in a tub with no curtains or walls. Tough was to shower. Hair dryer dried at best low heat. Great location by train terminal. Really close to big bus stop #1. Felt safe in the area.
Hotel Room is very congested. Front Desk Lady in the evening shift is rude. Bath room is small and doesn't have shower curtains. Whole bath room is flooded with water. Breakfast is bad. Just bread items. Very low standard hotel. Elevators are too small. No Bell Boy to help with luggage
Ok the condition
I didn’t like the twin bed and the mattress but the room was clean.
Great hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Really enjoyed my stay. Will stay there again.
Hardly a 4 star hotel.
This hotel is listed as rated 4 stars and is at best a 2 star hotel in terms of the size, condition, and amenities offered. The photos and description posted on line are deceptive and I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
The hotel was not fit to be a 4 star property! No basic amenities that a 4 star should have - no tea/ coffee making facilities, no adequate toiletries, torn bath towels, very poor breakfast, not very helpful restaurant staff... I can go on & on
A VERY POOR HOTEL IN ROME
The hotel should be, at most, a one star NOTHING like the photos. Our room was very poor, desperately in need of decorating, holes in the wall where electric points have been removed and a too small plate placed over the top. Not clean. The towels were like rags ( I have photos) . The area around the hotel is seedy and dirty and litter strewn. The Breakfast was good but the staff working the breakfast room were downright rude and ignorant. The hotel is convenient for all the places to visit in Rome. The Receptionists are very nice and helpful. Other than that I can say absolutely nothing positive. You should remove it from your list of hotels until it has been refurbished. Oh yes there were literally a hundred or so youngsters staying there who were very noisy too.
Wonderful experience
Good location near the Roma Termini. Good buffet breakfast. My friend and I check in on the 31 Dec, the hotel gave us a bottle of red wine as free gift!! Wonderful experience hear.
Front desk personnels are not very friendly. 1) I have booked 3 rooms for 3 couple in two orders. In the 1st stay, two couple got charge messages from their banks two day after we checkout. When we returned to checkin for the 2nd stay, we ask about the addition charges for the 1st stay, they are not kind to give us the answers. 2). We came too early for checkin. Our 9 luggages were kept by the hotel so we could go out for sightseeing. But when we came back later to checkin, they can not find our luggages and said it is impossible we had left our luggages there. We were all very worried until they found all our luggages later. Very unpleasant experience.
I had booked the wrong days and the staff helped fixing the problem and made it possible for us to stay one more night. Hotel is nice and in a great location.
Great location
Hotel was in perfect location and staff very helpful, would be happy to stay there again.
Its not clean, its not what you see on the pictures at all! staff not friendly and really bad breakfast.
No Sleep
The place was clean, however, the mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable. I was able to feel the springs.
Room was fine, but a bit claustrophobic . Beds were a bit hard. Close to the bus station. Within a five min walk.
Italy gem
Fantastic area for getting to visit all sites. Hotel staff really helpful with all our requests. Rooms very clean and super food would visit and stay again
Functional without luxury
I'd say this is a good hotel for the budget conscious traveller. It is very close to Termini station and walking distance to the Colosseum. Overall a decent value for the money. The staff was so-so except the housekeepers who were friendly. When we stayed there were a bunch of teenagers who yelled in the hallways for 3 strait nights making sleep almost impossible, the staff didn't care to be bothered about it, thin walls. I would say this is a good option for a backpacker of young travellers but if you're looking for a tad more luxury spend a bit more and stay closer to the spanish steps.
The best thing about the hotel is the location. The hotel was missing basic facilites and rooms were extremely small.
Bathroom sink was blocked the whole time.
Not comfortable. The bed cover was not cleaned. The breakfast was not very good as there were no hot options.
Unconfortable bed
I arrived and my room was ready!! But it was the worse room in the hotel extra small, not near of what they advertise The room had the A/C vent too small so it was a hole and the a/c vent was about to fall. Bad experience because That room was asigned to me because I was by my self and elderly. Not shower curtin and the water was or too cold or too warm. PLEASE pay attention to the reviews I ignored them. The kitchen staf was grate and the hosekeepe were exelent
We have great experience during our stay. Thank you and will recommend to friends.
Great location
More than adequate - great location. Clean. Great staff
Air con
Air on in room 322 does not work so had window open and had noisy from road. Otherwise dated but clean and still value for money.
Very close to the train station but isn't a 4 star
It's nice hotel and got everything you need on your stay there. I'm sure there is smarter hotels in Rome but this one didn't feel it needed the 4th star. The room overall is nice, the bathroom is basically a wet room what's fine. Breakfast was rather hit and miss, seamed to be missing half of what I'd expect.
Good Hotel but bed was not comfortable
We booked double room but they joint twin beds into double bed which was not comfortable at all. Sleepless nights... Good Location and near to Termini train station.. Breakfast was good.. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was excellent.
Needs improvement
My floor was flooded when I arrived early evening so I had been checked into Hotel Luce, part of the same chain of hotels, in the next street. I had requested a double bed but instead I had 2 single beds pushed together but made up individually. I asked the reception staff the next morning to change the bed but this was not done so I had to make up the 2 beds into a double with help of 1 evening staff just so I could have a double bed. I was exhausted! The safe decided to stop working with my money in it on the first night. I had tested the code twice, no problem but then it wouldn't accept my code when I needed my money so had to carry it on me the whole time after reception opened it. The shower was barely big enough to move around in either. Have never been in such a small space to wash. The lady on reception in the evening was brilliant, the larger gent during the day was not. When it came to collecting my luggage from the hold, he simply gave me the key for me to retrieve it myself. How lazy can you get? Breakfast buffet was more than adequate but no cooked food or eggs. Lots of pastries if you have a sweet tooth. Location is less than 5 mins walk from main station (Marsala end) plus 3 ristorantes to eat at in immediate area.
We were extremely happy with the location, look and feel of the hotel! The breakfast was excellent. The water pressure was superb and the staff understood English very well.
Great value for money, service, and location.
After booking I read reviews, some of which were poor. I arrived very early in the morning and was pleasantly surprised that I was not charged for checking in early. All of the employees are professional, friendly, and very hard working. Roberto's help was exceptional. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and in very good condition. The water pressure is just fine if you don't shower while three hundred other guests are doing the same thing, which is logical. My room was very quiet and exceptionally clean. This hotel is two blocks from Roma Termini and within a short walking distance to great museums, and if one can manage walking more than two blocks, to all of Rome's attractions. The hotel is an 18th century building, and it has a lot of character. It is on a quiet block with nice restaurants and the wifi works well. I could not have hoped for better service or a nicer place to stay. Value for money: exceptional. Service: exceptional. Cleanliness: exceptional. Location: exceptional. I would be very happy to recommend this hotel to friends, and to stay there again. I cannot recommend it more highly.
N/A
Amazing experience, everything was secured, confortable and all staff was very helpful
Staff
Found that the staff were not very good at being interested in our needs.
The hotel was nice and in a good location. The breakfast was also nice.
Walk distance to central train and subway station.
Walk distance to central termino train station and subway.
Not value for money
We arrived early hours of the night. Got checked in. Room was dirty smelt of dust. Bedding was full of dust. Old blankets dusty. Fridge not working. Toilet flush broken. Stayed one night. Asked for the room to be changed next morning which they did. Breakfast ok I do not call this hotel four star. Service very poor. Staff ignored you I would not recommend this hotel.
Eccellente
Perfect place for tourists. In the middle of every place.
