The hotel was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value. Convenient location for going out but most coffee shops are closed on the weekend
The hotel is showing its age. The condition of the room was below my expectations. I have stayed at the QT a number of times before but not for a couple of years and there's been little investment in room upkeep and maintenance in the meantime. Quite disappointing
Only stayed for one night good location, building work going on outside the hotel, but do not impact us
Great position, nice staff, great breakfast, large room, great value for money, highly recommend , we will definitley stay again
Great stay
I really enjoyed my stay at the QT. Very clean room and comfortable bed. I appreciated that my room was cleaned every day with fresh towels! A short walk to the city centre.
The toilet isn’t clean and has some problems with the flush. The staff are all kind and willing to help at all times.
Great hotel
I stayed in the king room and informed staff that was with infant. Although the cot that provided was great, the rest of the room was not. while I understand hotels are not baby proofed, what I found in our room was shocking. A bag of malteasers had been split under the chair and on the balcony by previous guests and not cleaned up. I did not realize this until I noticed my baby choking on one. The second night I found 3 bottles of half emptied alcohol under the bed. also a risk
The staff are attentive, kind and efficient and willingly assisted with concerns regarding excessive noise generated by other hotel guests. An enjoyable stay overall
Very friendly and helpful staff.
quirky and good quality furnishings.
Lovely place. Nice and comfy beds
We loved our stay at QT. Rooms were well equipped and with the right amenities. Breakfast was the highlight with delicious options to choose from the menu! Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Food service was too long and our food was nearly taken by someone else as there is no system in place to get to the right person. And found it appalling that I had to pay for parking after paying 800.00 for a 3 night stay, I would not stay there again and would not recommend to friends or family your service desk staff are obviously in the wrong jobs as no smile or greeting on arrival or departure. The showers are full of mould needs to be cleaned properly by cleaner.
Tired
Breakfast is good, have free electric charging, nice bed. Hotel is a bit old but good maintenance.
Unfortunately the construction at front and entrance has an impact on flow of people, if you wanted to go out the back to the coffee shop , the first time the restaurant doors were open and made it easy, next 3 times the doors were locked and had to go out the front doors, down the construction path and walk right beside the traffic, why not leave the restaurant doors open and save a possible traffic accident. Understand the time of visit, but no restaurant to dine either night, so we went to other hotels that had open restaurants
Well maintained rooms
The beds were too soft, pillows too high, the bathrooms also need a makeover
Aircon in room was not effective, big difference in the aircon effect in the common areas versus the room
Great hotel and excellent location. Loved the Kevin Murphy products and Dyson drier. Poor communication around parking and charging facilities was rather frustrating.
Hotel was so nice, surprised how affordable it was compared to the offerings. Easy to use an Uber to get around nearby eating places.
Location is perfect. Staff is pretty good. Parking is not free which is a minus point.
It’s Difficult for Canberra to compete with QT Sydney the buildings are poles apart. Staff are just as pleasing. Overall Sydney wins hands down. But QT is our first choice for Canberra. All round another good experience. Roadwork around the hotel was annoying.
Very good hotel, nice diner and breakfast, friendly and helpful staff at reception
Only fault this trip was our breakfast was cooked to order tasted delicious but was cold
Parking is $30. Staff are very helpful. Amazing foyer. Yummy breakfast. Great last minute room deal. The room was very nice. It very hot outside and the air con was working overtime, and having trouble cooling the room so I am sure some guests would have found the room too warm. The shower had some mould in the tiles but otherwise was a great bathroom. Great location.
.
The reception staff were too new and gave misleading false information.
Great value and lovely staff and service. Early checkin and late check-out provided with a smile. Unfortunately there is the earthworks beside the hotel for the light rail. However Canberra is small enough to walk without the works being a problem. There hotel was soundproof.
Beautiful place and great service. Too bad about the local construction. Not their fault though.
great place
Great overall. There was some peeling paint and rot at the bottom of the bathroom door. Room service steak was good not premium meat, $52 not super expensive for room service
Lobby, bar & restaurant well presented however rooms very dated and not worth the $450-$500 per night rate card paid. Rooms in need for a desperate renovation. Well off being anywhere near comparative to other QT properties.
Relax in style
Convenient and comfortable, able to walk to city and pubic transport.
Average while building works around the hotel
An exceptional experience. Friendly, helpful staff. Large, very well appointed rooms.
Great staff
One stop property, ideal for function and conference and walkable to city district and restaurants, quiet, and very clean
I enjoyed the breakfast, and little touches like Dyson hairdryer, handy ice bag given to us at the bar to cool our drinks in the room. Bed was really comfy and no noise from the building / excavation work opposite .
Ok
Excellent staff and great facilities Breakfast was good but not as per menu
.
Clean and easy
Easy check in, friendly staff, clean and close to what I was there for.
Very fast and hassle free check in room was nice. Construction site was a bit of a problem but not the hotels fault. Enjoyed my stay.
Underwhelming
Not up to the usual QT standards. Very dates rooms
5 star
Beautiful hotel
Friendly
Enjoyed our stay
We had a great stay. Comfortable bed and well appointed room. Breakfast was delicious 😋
QT needs to be really careful not to let standards slip. The bathroom had grout mold, the floor around the bed had chocolate and under the bed was someone’s deodorant. Wooden frames were cracking and splitting. I hope the owners understand that they have great staff, a fantastic bar, good location and views - but the number one asset is the building and its upkeep.
I had a great time at the QT in Canberra. The staff were really apologetic about the construction, but it didn't bother me at all. The room was beautifully decorated and fun, and the best part was definitely the bar. The entire staff were just amazing!
Staff very friendly.
The hotel staff very pleasant to deal with, helped unload bags/suitcases. Our rooms were not yet ready even though we arrived exactly at check in time. The paid parking was full so we had to use paid parking on the street for the duration of our stay. Strangely the AC could only heat! we tried both rooms and were puzzled, it should be labelled heater rather than AC. The bathrooms did not have ventilation so any odors will be ready to greet you for test of your stay! Overall it was okay.
Good size room and convenient location. Room 412 is right next to the lift though so ear plugs are helpful to block the noise at night.
I’m
Hotel rooms are excellent and plenty of room to move. Bed and pillows amazing Restaurant meals were excellent and great service Staff very friendly and helpful
Great location and modern vibe.
Great location, walking distance to Floriade, city dining precinct, and the National Museum of Australia. Room was spacious and well appointed. Beds were a bit too soft but comfortable. Common areas are funky, with comfortable seating. Breakfast was very good. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again.
I was quite shocked at how run-down QT is now. We had actually booked a newer hotel closer to the airport, but since QT is closer to the city and I’d had a good experience staying there in the past, we ended up booking with QT instead. Check-in was a bit of a hassle, with only two staff at the front desk and three groups ahead of me, so it took ages to check in. We had a terrible sleep the first night because the bed was extremely saggy and soft. We should have called to swap rooms, but since it was late, we decided to stick with it. I raised the concern with the front desk the next day, and they were very helpful and changed our room after an inspection. Also another annoying thing is that it’s heavily understaffed I think, we tried to call after hour like 9pm (being told 24/7 desk) it took ages for someone to pick up, we had to call multiple times. On the day we left Canberra, we tried to buy some pastries from the lobby since we were hungry, but when we went to the café, we were told they never have any pastries… odd. Also, note there’s a lot of construction going on around the area. Overall, while the staff was helpful I will not stay at QT again. It’s nowhere near being a 4 star hotel.
No 'normal' coffee for non coffee machine users. Road works inconvenient, but not your fault. No parking - extremely annoying and we even paid for it!
Walking distance to the park
The property location was perfect for our needs however, there was ongoing construction / roadworks for the upcoming stage 2 Lightrail.
Bed was two singles so small and uncomfortable. Interior design is dated. Staff were very helpful.
Have been in Room 312 , Noise from the lift was so high, could not sleep most of the night
This is a nice hotel, but it is in desperate need of an upgrade. The rooms are really looking tired now.
.
Everything was fantastic… My only suggestion is maybe a non slip mat for the slippery shower floor tiles
Love this hotel and the great team!
Central to everything
Housekeeping Lady excellent, Price & Position good but property tired, beds uncomfortable.
Unclean, tacky, worn down, mould on the ceilings in the bathroom. Construction site surrounding, noisy. This was not advertised. Included breakfast was gross. Stay somewhere else. Staff were nice though and I hate leaving mean reviews but so disappointed in our stay.
Excellent value for money. Great smell in hotel. Clean, good size room. Only negative was being next to the lift well - very noisey.
Great property however there is construction happening around the hotel.
We found the downstair bar and dining areas to be great options for us. We ate both nights in the bar area. Staff that we encountered were fantastic, barman Sam being a standout!! The room we had is starting to show its age but in saying that it was perfectly serviceable and very comfortable for our 2 night stay. We will certainly stay here again when we next head to Canberra.
Would never stay here again
I wouldn't stay here ever again. Hotel doesn't mention 1.93m clearance on the website anywhere so my car didn't fit in the underground basement. We booked a room for 2 adults and 1 infant. No cot in the room upon arrival and had to follow it up twice with room service and received it after an hour and a half. Room had a terrible odour in it. Pretty sure it was from the sewer services in the hotel which are all blocked. We went to use the sink and it would take roughly 15 minutes to drain a basin puddle of roughly 15mm depth. Room had cob webs on the windows with dead insects in it. Got transferred to a different room only to have the same plumbing issues. I eventually gave up even trying to ask for help because I spent majority of my stay following things or asking for basics regarding hygiene or comfort.
Very comfortable rooms, everything is clean tidy and pleasant. Rooms have doors that open to small balconies and taking in the fresh air and views was great. There were building works around the hotel at the time we stayed so getting in and out by foot was tedious and there was a lot of noise pollution in the area. Good access to eateries nearby, but the in-hotel dining for us was not as good as we hoped. Great food though. We gave feedback on this so hopefully future patrons will have a better experience.
Everything in the hotel has aged and upgrades are needed to maintain the appeal of a QT. The bed was lumpy, rooms are dirty and carpet smells. Also, the front of the hotel is a noisy construction site for the light rail and they are building on weekends/night too. There was no forewarning about the construction before booking the hotel.
Great hotel, staff are lovely
Room - 1403 - was in a bit of a sad state. No bottle opener, ventilation in bathroom was like 737 jet engine - I had to block it with a face washer - sink did not hold water at all, woeful water pressure, shower mixer handle fell off as soon as I touched it. Comfy bed, good pillows, ventilation noise eventually shut down at some point overnight.
after I booked the room online, I rang to see if I could get a room as high as I could. I was informed that I could get a room on the 8th floor. This was 2 weeks prior to check-in. when I arrived I was informed that my room was not available.... The room we had was dated. There was no proper ventilation in the bathroom and there was mold on the walls. the entrance to the bathroom had a slight rise which could catch out the unknowing elderly.
Construction site next door created a poor experience including noise 24/7. Nothing on website indicated construction impact on hotel quality. Very disappointed
Beware Construction!!!
Beautifully designed hotel with great staff in dire need of some maintenance located on the edge of a major construction project 😳 Would stay again, but only after qualifying the state and location of our room. Friends who had breakfast in the hotel (we didn’t) were disappointed at the lack of fresh fruit etc. Staff we dealt with were all great and changed our room (issues with bathroom drainage and dysfunctional ac) without any fuss.. they are the only reason we’d go back. 😏
Not suitable to stay
Building works outside - diggers going at 12 midnight on a Saturday night!!! They moved our rooms which was appreciated but this hotel is not visible to stay in with the building noise which is likely to be there through to 2025-2026.
We had a very comfortable stay. The beds were good and the view from the room was lovely. The breakfast was good and included in the price. Unfortunately the room was next to the lifts which was noisy at times . Also there was major road works outside the hotel which made it a bit tricky to get in.
On arrival there was construction everywhere The restaurant was so disappointing over 1 hour to get food it was cold and not enjoy at all The room was very underwhelming and old Such a disappointment for our Canberra trip
Wonderful courteous staff Got a room I requested Chair to relax in room apart from desk chair Even umbrella in wardrobe if needed, extra blankets Interesting interior design
I would definitely stay at this hotel again and I will try other QT hotels. I loved the restaurant and bar area, great vibe, classy yet cosy and not pretentious. Lovely food and wine. The check-in was great, friendly, efficient and helpful. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and functional. I really enjoyed using the Dyson hairdryer! We absolutely loved our view from the room! We could see Lake Burley Griffin, Parliament House and Black Tower Mountain. I loved the quirky and funky decor of the hotel. Great value for money!
The only thing to like about this property is the foyer- don't go any further than that. The girl who checked us in was good though I do question a hotel that doesn't ask for photo ID to check in. Our room was dusty behind the bed, toilet and mini-bar the carpet was stained, pet hair on the provided robes and worst of all mould in the bathroom and in the kettle. The bathroom floor was dirty, there was barely enough amenities provided for 2 guests and the shower pressure was abysmal. The exhaust fan was so caked in dust I'm surprised it worked at all- well not until after I had showered and ran all night. The air con vents were dusty and its so old it barely worked. The beds weren't separate despite having 2 guests, the Chromecast didnt work and it was so cold in the room because they doors clearly aren't sealed. Just hope you dont get put near a lift because it is like a jet engine. My allergies were set off so badly that I left with a sinus infection and conjuctivits so we had to find another hotel and checked out first thing. The people on the desk didn't seem tocare even after explaining how sick this room made me- just told "we're sorry you feel that way". No room change or offer to come and look though we were offered breakfast and decided against it. When we checked out, no apology, no care, nothing so clearly they are used to this. DO NOT stay here- find somewhere else. I was sick the entirity of my stay in Canberra because of this dirty place. So much for 4 star hotel
We were utterly disappointed with this hotel. We booked a two night getaway and upon arrival and checking in, the carpet in the room was stained and the bathroom tiles looked to have mould. We immediately went downstairs and the receptionist didn’t show one bit of an apology and gave us another room which wasn’t much better. Rooms are outdated and aircon is extremely old and dusty. Also, do not be fooled by the breakfast. We couldn’t believe how little was included and the portion sizes were not acceptable. We will not be returning as there are plenty of other great hotels in the area for the same price. Save your money
The construction work around the area made it impossible to find the entrance let alone the car park. The view from my room was of a giant hole in the ground with multiple construction workers and equipment. The noise from the construction site was horrendous. If I had known about it prior to booking I would have gone elsewhere.
Great food, comfortable beds and friendly staff
We had to move rooms twice. First room broken balcony door handle. Second room broken heating. Poor breakfast service
Rooms need to be updated, very tired. Lovely view and a tiny balcony but the room we were assigned didnt match the photos or the rest of the foyer decor and styling which was very disappointing 😑 wouldnt reccomend for the price you pay youre better off staying elsewhere
Property was convenient to the lake
Great service from check-in staff as well as restaurant staff
Wonderful stay. Restaurant food worth paying.
Staff are amazing. Only problem is the bathroom exhaust doesn’t work well. Gets very steamy.
Crap hotel
No tv, no internet, air con unit runs old analog dial that didn’t work. Told maintenance would look at it after I left
