Location is great - next to lots of cafes, shopping and Train Station close. Downsides - Quite noisy. Breakfast didnt exist but nice cafe 30m away - so used this instead.
Watch out for the hidden costs !
Hotel looked dated. Bit dodgy having a picture of the room over looking the Thames, when the hotel is in the centre of Putney & nowhere near the Thames Unhappy at the ‘surprise’ £50 deposit I had to pay upon arrival, even though I had pre paid for the whole trip in the first instance. Yes, this maybe in the T’s & C’s but come on no one is reading all of that. It needs mentioning at the point of booking.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful and accommodating when alerted to problems. Rooms vary tremendously. First room I was assigned to was tiny and dark, with only one narrow window in a corner, and a walk-in shower that did not drain properly leaving the entire bathroom floor soaked. Proprietor offered to move me to a new room, which was much bigger and brighter and functioned better. Yay! Sheets and towels were clean and beds and pillows were comfy. But… carpets were stained beyond cleaning and need to be replaced. Bathroom amenities were sparse. No hair dryer — outlets note they are for shavers only. Overall, hotel was serviceable and a decent budget option. But not likely to stay there again.
Nice stay
The hotel was nice and quiet. Convenient to everything we needed shops bars restaurants. The only thing that let the hotel down was stains on the carpets
Not the best
Good use of space to have nice rooms but not the usual hotel experience, more of a serviced room. Comfortable big bed and nice bathroom. Road noise can be a problem
Shabby . Broken window in the room . Very run down hotel generally.
Very nice hotel and staff where very friendly I would definitely stay again
Bad experience, would not return or recommend
First time I have stayed at this hotel and it was not a pleasant experience from the moment I walked into the room. It was very cold inside because one of the windows was not sealed so it was not letting in a cold draft (it was 9C outside) but also all the noise from the main road (motorcycles, buses, trucks, people, etc.). I got the person on the front desk to come up to the room and she tried to lock the window, but it made no difference. I asked what I should do, and she said to turn on the heating because there were no other rooms. I was not accepting this resolution so continued to press for another room. She finally confirmed there was another room but the problem was that it was a basic room and they refused to refund the difference. I ended up having one of the worst nights sleep because even with the heating on it was very cold in the room and the loud noises kept waking me up. I left the next day as I could not do another night in that room.
I would think twice before booking it!
I’ve never had to give any of the hotels I stayed in such a bad review. I always read reviews before booking anything but I had no opportunity to do it this time, unfortunately. It’s recommended for the management and owners to revisit basic cleaning steps. It’s not hard to get the room hoovered and dusted before guests arrival. Carpet looks absolutely terrible and smells of dump as soon as you open the door. There were a lot of cobwebs in a room, making it look like an abandoned attic! Sorry it’s a definite no for me!
The photos were not an accurate representation of the property or rooms. My shower didn’t drain, causing the bathroom to flood. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and there was no deadbolt on the door, which made me feel unsafe. I checked out immediately after arriving. I filed a claim for a refund but have received no response.
Putney Hotel, BW Signature Collection was fine. I read reviews before staying and while I might agree with some of the comments made about the rooms, my bed was comfortable and clean and the minor issue I had was rectified immediately and the staff (particularly Christina on Reception) were absolutely lovely and so helpful. The location was perfect for everything I needed and I could walk to lots of cafes, restaurants and also the tube, train and bus stops.
Not a great property. Quite a bad smell at Ground floor level. The hotel overall is quite tired and really needs some attention .
Nice staff. Good customer service. Tired hotel that needs updating but ok for 1 night stay . Dodgy stain on bed cover. But other wise clean sheets and comfy bed. Take your earplugs, on a main road
Decent enough and spacious room but was close to rail line which wasn't mentioned and so quite loud sound of trains till late and from early which left sleep a bit disrupted. Shower didn't train properly so prone to flooding bathroom without management
Very nice staff
Good hotel, 2 mins walk from the railway station. Noisy pub across the road, and the a/c wasn't working so the hotel threw in free breakfasts for my 3 night stay, so that was appreciated.
Friendly staff very clean rooms. If in the area again would definitely stay there.
Poor stay
There was no air conditioning..out of order. It was close to 30degrees. I had to open the windows so the noise of the traffic kept me awske. Not a good stat at all. Staff were pleasant...the lady in particular. Out of interest why is the toilet paper put in such an awkward place...for females anyway. There were no glasses in the room.
On checkin 1545 told AirCon not working in whole building. No offer of time eta to fix, no offer of fan. No update at 1930. Very stuffy in room so had window open all night with A205 road outside. Very noisy and pollution from heavy traffic, no sleep! Decided to checkout and go home next morning. No update on Aircon fix. Got £87 refund for 2nd night but room cost me £102 per night. No aplology from Staff or written letter for reason aircon not fixed. Can i get proper refund please? Regards Alan Lake.
Too hot, no sleep
Room was clean and tidy. Unfortunately the air conditioning was broken. The room was extremely hot, couldn't sleep due to the room temperature. Asked for a fan but they do not have any. WiFi connection was poor constantly dropped out. Room was dark , could do with some better lighting. Lovely powerful shower, staff very friendly and welcoming. Would only stay again if they get the air conditioning fixed.
Uncomfortable stay
The air conditioning was broken for our weekend stay while the temperature was 26 - 30 degrees. This made for a very uncomfortable stay - the windows were also latched shut. The room was stated to be ready at 2 PM however it wasn’t ready until 4 PM. On the positive side, the customer service agents/receptionists were good and helpful where possible
Fire alarm went off at 2am and staff said someone on the ground floor lit a cigarette. Then it went off again at 2:30 am and would not stop for 20 minutes. Staff said it was because someone took a shower and the steam set it off. I asked why the fire department hadn’t shown up and they said they are not connected to it. Clearly a place to avoid! Rooms are run down and bed mattress is disgusting! I thought Best Western properties were a bit better than this!
A comfortable stay
A one-night stay while we were in London to watch the tennis. Was a comfortable night's sleep and the staff were friendly.
Lovely friendly helpful staff, but very run down building. The carpet in the bedroom looked like it came from a bad nightclub it was so dirty. The balcony off the room was green with dirt, and the safety glass surrounding the balcony had slipped down, certainly not inspiring going out.
Bare basics
Basic amenities available - but not very accustomed to having no fridge, also no refills of tea/coffee after housekeeeping
Highly unprofessional staff. They didn’t have our booking yet booking was confirmed with expedia
good value, clean rooms
Staff lovely, great location and really well priced vs nearby competitors.
Stayed for 1 night only with no breakfast. Staff very friendly. I thought it was expensive for the 1 night. Room was clean but basic. The bed was uncomfortable. Overall 6/10
Air conditioner initially did not work. Carpet dirty balcony door did not open. Behind railway station but picture shows views of river that did not ezist
.
A quiet spot in Putney
Our reception was warm and welcoming and very efficient. The room was clean, quiet and spacious. Breakfast is continental in style but plenty of choice. Recommended.
Wi-Fi was not working, somebody threw up in the sink and it was not cleaned, Bathroom mirror was broken, receptacles not working, hangers were free from laundromat, safe was not tied to floor or the Almirah, tv was not working after 3-4 channels, bed light was not working, no hand towels. It was terrible experience. Christina, the manager, was fighting.

Misleading pictures for what you actually get
No drinking glasses in the room, toilet door wouldn’t close properly and genuinely disappointed with the room considering the pictures on hotels.com make it look a lot better then it actually is. There are a lot of hotels to choose from in that area but I decided on Putney hotel from the pictures which unfortunately for me and my other half on our 3rd year anniversary did not live up to expectation
Very tried, needed good clean and redo of room.. Bed was clean and comfortable
bad customer experience
Bad experience. Upon arrival with a confirmed booking through hotels.com, the hotel stated that they had been fully booked and have been so for a year onwards. The staff was not helpful in resolving any alternative for me at 1030 pm on a Sunday evening. This meant I had to walk around to find a hotel that could accommodate me instead.
Not great
Checkin was quick and easy and good location. Main areas were clean and bright but room was dull, dingy and felt grubby - carpet had not been vacuumed properly (if at all) and bathroom floor had sticky patches. Walls scuffed and chipped and no idea what was going on with the curtains. Lack of power sockets in the right places (had to move the desk to power laptop and hairdryer. Mirrors in the room all tinted so no good for make-up:hair. Couldn’t adjust the heating/air con so was overly warm and lastly, as other have said, the automatic light was considerably more annoying than useful. I phone up to ask about parking and specifically whether it was all residents parking and was told that there was plenty of parking on the streets - not the case, permit holders only meant I had to be up and move my car by 8.30am.
Deep in the heart of Putney
Friendly welcome, check-in took seconds, room excellent.
Friendly staff, good location in Putney and travel connections
Very nice hotel with a great location to all needs. Service and cleanliness was outstanding.
The property was being finished off,so things to do bare wires in room and carpets need a deep clean. Other then that it was a pleasant stay.Room clean and well designed,we like the fridge so that we could put in fresh milk We would stay again. The only problem which is caused by its position is dropping and pickup of luggage.
Excellent service + Philip at the converge is very professional & absolutely fab! Thank you.
Convenient location, friendly staff but...
Location is great and although the staff are lovely, the cleanliness of the room was not good. A lot of dust inside the wardrobe on the shelves and on the skirting around the edge of room. A lot of stains on carpet both inside room and in corridor. Breakfast room was absolutely freezing every morning. My breakfast "fruit platter" consisted of 1 strawberry cut into 8 pieces, 5 slivers of apple, 4 slices of banana and a few cubes of some indefinable fruit. Almost laughable! However the full English was fine. Being called BW Signature Collection I was expecting something a little more boutique! Thought I'd booked a real bargain, but I guess I got what I paid for.
bit of a shambles at check in
The night clerk mistakenly thought I needed to show him the card I had paid with but the information he had had a completely unknown mastercard which is not mine (maybe this is your eg hotel.com's card?) so this caused a lot of aggravation, he was initially unwilling to give me my room, tried to call his manager etc, I had to insist... then when I eventually did get up to the room, the key didn't work, I went back down to the desk and he did something to it, didn't work the second time, he eventually had to come up and let me in manually (with an actual key) - all this happened at well gone midnight so I was none to pleased, he apologised in the morning......
Night at Putney
Friendly hotel. lovely comfortable bed. Staff at breakfast were very attentive. The room could do with some maintenance on the doors otherwise ok. Unfortunately, due to the very loud noise from the outside street during the night we were kept awake.
Sad to say too many issues
Room & bathroom very nice HOWEVER 1) faced train tracks- noisy until 11:30pm 2) hotel safe broke twice 3) unable to control the heat 4) housekeeper did not understand english 5) no sign for door to make up room or not disturb 6) elevator broke down 7) insufficient staff to assist those checking out while elevator was broken
ok
A ok
The room was great. However the walk-in shower did not drain and ended up flooding the whole bathroom and carpet. When we told reception they didn’t seem surprised. Just not acceptable for £122 a night room.

Nice hotel but a bit chilly!!
Nice hotel with friendly staff, a little disappointed that there wasn’t a Duvet for the sofa bed! The staff were helpful but could only find me a mattress topper!!
