The staff are outstanding and accommodating. The cooks is five star in Lagos .
Renovation needed!!!
Hotel is in need of a serious upgrade
Great place! Friendly staff and comfortable room.

The hotel needs to do proper maintenance. Everything appears to be expired. From beds to room chairs etc
Functional Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos
Functional Hotel in the heart of the Ikeja area of Lagos. Please leave the hotel early on a working day to got to the airport (which is very close by, but teh traffic is quite high)
Execellent
Great experience
Needs overhaul. Can you just maintain that property
Disappointed.
They fell short on quality- could not flush toilet after uses.
The property seem to lack proper management, well trained staff and able to supply customers their need including towels rationing, late room clean up and much more
My stay was very pleasant. The wonderful staff made my stay memorable. From the receptionists to the bar men and those in the dining side, thanks. I will be back.

Great quick stay
Hotel staffers are extremely honest. A hotel staffer found my missing Credit card, Room Card, and 300 dollars dropped from my pocket, and he returned everything to me immediately. It was extremely shocking to see such a level of honesty.
service was near excellence, improvement needed in room service.
Protea needs the real Marriott touch!
Hotel needs fixing up. Facilities are outdated. Staff is helpful but at times dont seem to understand what they are asked to do. You have to make multiple calls in order to get things done. Quality and spread of breakfast was good. Noise level from outsiders coming into the hotel was overwhelming loud. It is a hotel not an office. Lobby during the day was constantly overflowing with people, couldnt tell who was a hotel guest from others.
Nice hotel.
I enjoyed my stay. Friendly atmosphere, very attentive & polite staff. Maintenance staff were also great - they came within 10 minutes both times & fixed the issues. Good food; the morning buffet was great. I plan to return.
I enjoyed the warm welcoming back home. The staff was great the food was awesome i enjoyed the birthday cake and the wine. Yes, I would recommend everyone to stay here.
Check in was smooth. Got a shuttle to domestic airport next morning.
Nice place to stay in Lagos
I was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the hotel and efficiency of the staff. Will defined stay again.
Lovely hotel, excellent staff
what i liked was the friendly staff. what i didn't like was the way the rooms were cleaned all bedding should have been changed daily, and the coffee cups placed in the room as well should have been changed daily. Staff should be wearing gloves and changing between cleaning each room. and bar area should be cleaned first before betting or restrooms. all in all we very much enjoyed our 2 week stay. You may go over the top if these changes are made and perhaps for tips in the rooms you leave a envelope in the room for guests to leave money in for your staff if they wish. Guests should not be asked for tips. this should be up to the guests if they so decide. and the time we were there was at the time of the note exchange and notes were hard to get. so asking for money during this difficult time for all was very hard. as money being scarce for guests as well.
Pleasant stay. Would stay here again
What I liked was the friendliness of the staff and its a beautiful hotel What I didn’t like is the room cleaning staff does not wear gloves and they only rinse out the coffee cups that are in the room. Cups should be changed daily And staff should wear gloves and change between rooms for their safety and the safety of the customers
We loved our stay! I was apprehensive at first and then I saw my room and I am glad I stayed. The staff is pleasant and helpful. There is a nice pool and a fun lounge space around the pool to relax. The best part however is the restaurant. Good food!! The brunch buffet is one of the best I encountered in Lagos during my stay.
We stayed in a junior suite, which was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable. The room was like an apartment, with a bedroom, living. full bathroom and a half bathroom. We had a lovely view of the pool, which changed colors at night, like a mini light show. The included breakfast was the best breakfast I had ever experienced in a hotel. There was a good mix of delicious Nigerian food and western options, along with numerous beverage options. There must have been 25 different tea options. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, along with all of the other staff members. The location is close to the airport and shopping. The only negative was that the gym facility was a bit dingy. Usually Marriot gyms are quite nice, so the worn out equipment and dim lighting seemed out of character. We are looking forward to visiting Protea Hotel in Ikeja again and will also be considering other Protea locations for future trips to Africa.
Staff were uncultured
Every service request was prompt and quick. Staffs were very responsive and friendly. The location was also very convenience and easily accessible to all that I need i.e. family, friends, convenient stores, malls and other essential amenities.
The staff are courteous.
The property was excellent, the location was great.
Basic Marriott
Very simple hotel but I like it and great food Only cons waiting for the check in
Nice
I’m a regular customer and will continue to stay at Protea Hotel anytime I visit Lagos as long as the standard stays the same. I will recommend Protea to anyone visiting Lagos
Excellent staff and service. Great location. I will stay here every time i come to Lagos.
Attendance at the reception was slow. A bigger desk with more active hands could have helped. Breakfast was okay.
Incomplete
Room was not prepared as it should have been - had no towels, empty minibar, dirty ironing board and incomplete set of toiletries. Check-in also took a lot longer than expected on a tiring night and the TV picture was grainy.
I had a great experience at this hotel. I’ve used it couple of times in the past and they have not disappointed
Was a nice couple days. Hate that they don’t help warm up your food.
Not now
Great service
Wonderful I love Marriott and when I am in Lagos or in the country I and my Pastors will use Marriott. Hello Margaret
It’s a nice property but they should be aware of certain group of guests lodging there for safety and security purposes
The location is great in terms of accessibility. My great concerns are: 1. Staff carrying long faces except you go extra miles to interact with them. That should not be the case. 2. The toilet smells. I wonder whether it was due to the rusted trash can or from the septic tank!
Great!
I enjoyed my stay. The place is safe and clean.
Enjoyed my stay
I really enjoy my stay there, the staffs are very great and they made my stay enjoyable
Wake up call
It was good but the housekeeping needs a lot of improvements.

The staff were very pleasant and always ready to help with requests. The property could do with some upgrade. However, the security getting into the property was pleasing.
