High quality stay in South Bombay

Great stay, lovely breakfast. Super helpful staff. I had some electrical noise in my room in the middle of the night - the staff made another room for me to sleep without any questions asked or hassle. The training and grooming of the staff shines through in every aspect of the hotel.

Disappointing stay at what was once an IconicHotel

The President Hotel was one of the most popular and well run business hotels in South Mumbai, having stayed their for decades. Im afraid the current avatar ; "IHCL Selections" is far from what it was from my last stay. We had reserved a Premium Room and the hotel room, though renovated, is NOT A PATCH on what they were earlier. There is no Couch, rather an "extremely uncomfortable" BENCH with coushins. No Coffee Table. There is a Study Table, BUT NO CHAIR. Even if there was a chair, it would be of no use as there is a Mini Bar fridge below the table. I can go on but what is most disappointing was that there is No Feel of Comfort in the rooms anymore. The services have also dipped, new staff with older staff moving on, l guess. However they seemed ill trained, with Thai Pavillion being the exception; the service in this restaurant was up to the mark; friendly & efficient staff. We had requested for a reservation at the Thai Restaurant to the front desk staff, apparently they forgot to communicate it to the restaurant staff; very disappointing!! All I can say that this hotel was once the pride of South Mumbai business travellers and an Icon, but in its current avatar, it needs much to be desired from. I dont think we will be coming back to stay here again, Sadly!!!

Very friendly staff. Some confusion for uber and private drivers due to construction of Metro nearby, but that is due to be completed soon.

Excellent stay

Excellent visit and stay at the President, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Especially Shekaran, Mark, Mayuresh, Rajeshree and Neha in the breakfast service. Plus Jim at the front desk

Better options elsewhere

Staff here are really nice but as a place to stay it’s not a good choice. Hotels forget their main service is to provide a place for people to sleep - which is almost impossible here. Thin segmented curtains mean light streams through windows all night, the room is full of LED lights, some which flash through the night, and the illumination from the outdated control panel (why in 2024 do you have this?) adds to this. Left the room each morning at 6am with a sign on the door for housekeeping to come in - this never happened and returned in the afternoons to an unserviced room with no fresh amenities added. I would go elsewhere, especially for the price.

Solid choice in Colaba

Aside from a brief power outage and a very firm mattress, an altogether pleasant stay.

I only stayed for one night, but the hotel definitely has a great luxury feel. The staff was very helpful and kind. I wish I could have stayed longer and used the amenities, but I picked this hotel due to it's location to Gateway of India. It's only a short distance to most of the popular attractions. Also, a friend came to meet me for dinner, and we dined in at one of the hotel's restaurants. Unfortunately, we didn't have reservations so we had to sit in the lobby, but the management was quite accommodating. The music in the lobby can get kind of loud at night, but I think it's suppose to give a lively electric atmosphere.

Overall hotel was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, area surrounding the property was not clean. Restaurants were limited as the property was in residential area.

Great hotel in central location

We stayed at this hotel with other friends and it was the best place to stay in Mumbai. Even though we would have liked a better room in a high floor (we didn’t due to staff confusion), we enjoyed our time there. The breakfast is phenomenal! Room service for dinner was delicious and the rest of the service was top notch. I would stay here again!

The President, Mumbai IHCL Seleqtions is a beautiful hotel with a friendly, professional staff. Our room was lovely and immaculate, but a little dated. The breakfast buffet was amazing. We enjoyed evening dining in two of the restaurants and had cocktails in the bar. It is an easy walk to markets and to the Gate of India, but the airport is over an hour away. Even so, I highly recommend this hotel.

The room, service and location were all good. My only real knock was, I was on the 6th floor and when they had a wedding in the banquet halls, it was so loud, it could've been on the next room. Also, phone in the bathroom.

Unfortunately an all around bad experience. The hotel did not honor our room reservation. Upon checkout, they were completely inflexible and then charged extra because we 'forgot' to check out. This is the 21st century. Overall, its a nice hotel. But you pay for nice and also for service. And I would rather stay at decent over fancy as long as the service is excellent. Not the case for the President I am afraid.

Comfortable rooms, great location, very well trained staff, and top class restaurants. The staff at the Breakfast Hall deserve a special mention! They made my stay worthwile.

We came to celebrate our anniversary and they were amazing about it. We received a congratulatory cake, red ballons and lots of best wishes. The restaurants are amazing, the service always above and beyond and the room was brilliant. They even offered us a complementary room upgrade. 10/10 would recommend to everyone.

Don’t stay at Taj Presidemt

At check in, I was sitting with the front office staf, for my checkin. The front off of Enstar, was processing my document, chit chatting on the phone and also attending to other clients. 28 minutes after this I decided to cancel the reservation and move to another property. The most discourteous, disrespectful and disorganized hotel staff I have ever seen in my 42 days stay I different Taj properties in 2023. When I highlighted the issue with the duty manager they started providing excuses and did nothing to address the situation

Not a 4-star experience

This is a step below other 4-star options in Mumbai. I was offered an early check-in but even though I asked twice about what kind of bed was in the room they still tried to give me a room with 2 twin beds. Quite unhappy about the extra slog to reception; not fun when you are tired. I stayed in two different rooms on two stays a few days apart. The 15th floor room was much nicer than the 11th floor, my guess is that they still cheaped out where they could.

Great staff and service, very friendly. The room was clean and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was spectacular, and afternoon chai snacks buffet was very good too.

It was a fantastic play to stay

The only place i stay when in Mumbai, and in the South. Last time was 9 years ago and i was a one week per month regular for 3 years. Excellent location. Great service. Home from Home. Room slightly dated.

Great staff ever ready to help

The hotel and the service staff was amazing - always greeting and ever ready to help. The room was neat and clean. The bathroom however could be larger in size as the commode was very near the shower door - the only downside was that the refrigerator was not working, hence no cold water to drink. The choices in breakfast was amazingly good, from waffles to dosas to coffee and masala tea.

The staff were excellent, had dinner at the restaurant at the hotel - food was very good. Transport was easily available. Rooms were dated.

Helpful staff but terrible Hotel Management

This Hotel made us sick and develop allergies due to renovation and Paint job in our room floor. Location is good, staff is helpful but terrible management of Hotel in Client service for fellow Indians. They started renovating next to our room without any kind of notice or advance information and even started painting. Our family has severe allergies with Paint smell and we devoloped sinusitis under an hour due to this. When complained, Hotel Staff told us to adjust but next morning when I strictly said this is unacceptable our room were changed. Racist attitude of management because if any Foreigner would have got allergies due to this mishap and mistake of Hotel renovation and painting, the Hotel Management would have given them loads of other additional services to compensate but we only got the room changed that too after strictly mentioning to them. Expected much better standards of client service and grievance handling by Hotel Management especially for fellow Indians and no dual policy for Indians and Foreigners as we also pay the same tariffs. They ruined our whole trip as we got unwell because of Hotel. Very disappointing client services.

Lovely hotel! Unfortunately it’s not really in colaba, so it’s a bit inconvenient.

Good location, close to a lot of touristy places. Hotel was in great condition. Felt like form was prioritized over function in a few areas (ex: Bathroom faucets, power switches next to the bed, etc) You need an international power adapter if travelling from overseas.

Decent two night stay. Breakfast was good. Room was just ok. Staff very friendly and helpful. It’s like a Holiday Inn in North America. If you can afford to stay at the Taj, do it.

Property shows wear and tear. While it is part of Taj Group - it is certainly nowhere close to being like Taj Colaba. Staff are extremely silod and do not seem to be able to provide basic information- stores, restaurants. Most of the time I ended up finding it myself.

The hotel is old and many rooms are so small you cannot even open a suitcase. I would not recommend this hotel. The bathrooms are horrible.

Friendly hotel at the southern tip of Mumbai

It had well appointed room. Very comfortable bedding. Breakfast buffet spread was superb offering continental, Mediterranean, and Indian dishes. Staff was plentuful, friendly, courteous, and polite. Location wise it is almost at the southern tip of Mumbai, at about 20 min brisk walk to Marine Drive.

Always choose this hotel

Very good service from check in to check out. Staff were super friendly. Good options at breakfast. Returned to hotel after 3.5 years, first time back to India after lockdown and were so pleased that we chose this hotel even though better and cheaper options were available. Comforts of home in the luxury of Taj hotels.

Rooms were run down condition. Sheets were old.

Inspite of the construction around property the hotel itself reeks of luxury and we were absolutely thrilled to stay and will likely stay in the future. The staff is absolutely courteous and the breakfast at trattoria is amazing!!!...Only drawback not many dining options past 12 if you are sightseeing.

We had been transferred to Taj palace towers, the service was exclusive, They went out of their way to please us

First of all i would thank Sharon ,niraj,uttam,krishna laxmikant for giving us a marvelous experience at the restaurant. They are gem of the people every hotel shluld have people like them to make guests feel at home. Also im so upset at myself for forgetting the name of mam who helped us check in she was absolutely too Good . my over all experience was just purely amazing . the staff here acually knows how to treat people beautifully.

Mr. Arpit from the front office has been extremely helpful to us throughout our stay from check-in to check-out. and kept enquiring if we were comfortable. Ms. Reema from the restaurant has looked after us during our meals and ensuring that our order was made exactly as per our specification. She welcomed us warmly when we entered the restaurant and also severed us throughout our meals.

President Hotel in Cuffe Parade

Great hotel. The restaurants are amazing. Breakfast is a bit chaotic, as it was completely packed, but the staff managed the flow to the best of their abilities. The room was not as big or as nice as I would expect from a Taj property, but it was fine!

The rooms could’ve been a little better done up, feels very old.
