Right in Paraty, close to everything. Terrific service with great ambiance. Would definately go back.

What a wonderful experience in such a lovely corner of Brazil. The experience was amazing from the beginning; the receptionist welcomed us with a friendly smile and made us feel at home immediately. The property was so charming; it has been updated while respecting the original style and architecture. The room was very spacious and comfortable with an amazing street view of Paraty. We throughly enjoyed walking the streets to explore so many historic buildings in town. Also the hotel is nearby many restaurants and shops while still being on a quiet street without the traffic and noise. We definitely would recommend staying here for a relaxing vacation to Paraty.

Paraty paradise!

Pousada do Ouro was quite possibly the nicest stay I’ve had any hotel. As a foreigner I sincerely appreciated the fact that the staff spoke English and communicated through email immediately upon booking. The trip was a birthday celebration which was magical thanks to the staff. They were friendly, efficient and allowed our party of 9 to check in army after our 4 hour drive from Rio. The hotel itself was beautiful. All the modern conveniences in a historic building. Every where I turned there was some beauty to appreciate. The location in the historic district made it so easy to wander the cobblestone streets with shopping, sites and restaurants minutes away! The staff also arranged for a private boat trip which was perfect. If you go to Paraty don’t stay anywhere else!

Lovely hotel in a lovely town. Staff was extremely helpful an fluent in English… even some French. The anti mosquito plug and liquid were provided Nice sitting area and bar, excellent breakfast. Amazing pool area. Quite a few famous guests seam to have been there. We would definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

A very nice property in the old town. Almost every detail takes you back to the history of Paraty. Quite an authentic stay, really enjoyed it. Modern facilities (wifi, shower, swimming pool etc.) are there but historical details dominate. Staff members are very helpful. Receptionists, some speak English, can guide you through the hotel and nearby area. Very nice guys and ladies. I had my suitcase broken during the trip to Paraty. A maintenance guy fixed it in less than an hour:- saved my trip, really grateful to the guy. Breakfast is in a very nice old style beautiful restaurant. It is a la carte, which is great for not overeating, and service is a high quality one. Historical part of the town is quite small and walkable, all that could be done in 2-3 hours. Overall, a very nice pleasant stay in a historical building, really enjoyed it. Thanks a lot and all the best to the property staff members.

We absolutely loved our stay. From the extensive breakfast every morning to the fabulous pool and pool bar, everything was wonderful. Service was outstanding and rooms were comfortable. Great area, close to many restaurants and shops! Would recommend!

We loved everything about this hitel and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Paraty! From the location, the breakfast menu, staff friendliness and willingness to help even with recommendations on where to go. The liittle things like asking what time you wanted breakfast prepared and served to ensure it is hot and ready when you are ready was much appreciated.

Good pousada in Paraty, inside historical center, nice breakfast, room 19 has good space but need more space but need more areas for luggage. Wifi was really poor, i had to go to lobby to get better internet, also being close to gate, could hear noise from people opening and closing the door.

The staff were super friendly, accommodating and helpful. We would have loved our stay here regardless but everyone went beyond all expectation when we came down with Covid and had to isolate there. We were cared for like family

Near the restaurants and bars and beach. As we travelled by bus, it was very easy to access the bus terminal.

Very nice rustic inn in a quiet section of Paraty. It is a quick 5-10 minute to all the attraction in the historic part of town and dozens of restaurants. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast selection in the morning was very good. Would highly recommend if you are planning a trip to Paraty.

Quaint with Five Star Ammenities

The hotel could not be more perfect. Impecable service and amenities. The town was charming but a bit slow due to low season. Our only complaint of the trip was a lack of decent bar to get a good cocktail. Pousada do Ouro could not be more perfect.

Excellent Location, People and Breakfast

The Hotel Pousada do Ouro is located centrally in Paraty. You can easily access it over the couple stone street and they provide inside protected parking for your car. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. The service was at all times outstanding. Everyone was helpful. They supported us with travel guidance, restaurant recommendations and bookings. During heavy rain hours they would bring you an umbrella to your room. The breakfast buffet includes fresh fruits and juices, cakes, eggs with bacon, croissants, bread varieties, cold cuts and many other varieties. I would definitely stay here again. A big thank you to the staff at Pousada do Oura for this memorable stay.

Sweet staff, awesome pool and cosy building

The staff were brilliant! Very welcoming and helpful. The pool is gorgeous and perfect to sit in while chatting and sipping caipirinhas from the lovely bartender. There is also a pool table which is fun! The location is great and the building is very cosy. The beds are hard though, but all in all I loved the experience!

Paraty: where Cariocas go to forget about tourists

5 nights to rest after meetings in Rio... 5-6 hours of bus transfer with Paraty tour giving us a good view of the area. Silent room. Great area to take walks in the historic center of Paraty. Many great restaurants around at various price. Punto Divino restaurant even delivers dinner in the hotel! Nice pool and living room. Do not forget mosquito repellent mostly at end of the sunlight. They provide a mosquito repellent that you plug in the room and do not forget to put it on in your room... We were so busy going around during this special religious festivities that gave a very warm touch to the city. And do not forget the samba show each Monday night at one of the main square of the city: free and quite lively! A lot of Brazilian tourists and not so much tourists from elsewhere. We would go back anytime!

Lovey Paraty

We chose the hotel for its reviews and location on the historic city center. While the streets are hard to walk on as they are still in their original cobble stone design it is a very pleasant place.

Pousada Do Ouro

We had a fabulous three night stay at Pousada do Ouro and couldn't fault a thing. The staff we all friendly and helpful and gave good recommendations. We had a huge attic room, no 7, which was great and had wonderful views and a hammock..! All in all we would highly recommend Pousada do Ouro

Nice place to stay when you are in Paraty. It offers nice rooms and good facilities (pool) and also a reasonable breakfast buffet (for Brazilian standards). If you are arriving by car it also provides free courtyard parking which is great.

Authentic and relaxing

The Pousada was very comfortable, all decorated in traditional style. The bar and pool area were welcoming and attractive. Our room was spacious and airy with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful Common Areas Charming Rooms Great Staff

Pool, bar, restaurant and all common áreas the most charming we have found in the área! Orchids everywhere, safe easy parking off street, great staff, beautiful furniture and artwork everywhere. Decide between a room in the main building (around the reception área) or across the small street (no traffic) which is more private and charming! If anything missing - it's a good wifi signal anywhere on property but then again you should be exploring charming Paraty instead anyway!

Great stay at an intimate pousada

We made a great choice to stay at Pousada do Ouro during our time in Paraty. Immediately we sensed that the pousada is well-maintained and the staff are cheerful and gracious. Our room was in the annex across the street, and access is controlled by the lobby so you can rest assured that the privacy and safety is taken care of. We loved the room once we were in. The facilities and amenities are good, especially the water pressure. We enjoyed a prolonged shower at the end of the long trip here. We loved that the location of the Pousada slightly away from the epicentre of the historic district meant that we were nearby to all the action, but in a lovely and tranquil area once we reached back to the pousada. It was also very easy to stroll to the Forte Praia and the harbour area from the hotel (took about 5 minutes via the coastal road) where we enjoyed a nice little morning walk before breakfast. Breakfast itself is served in a room next to the lobby until 1030hrs and was very nice, especially the home-made jam (orange jabuticaba and dulce de leche were our favourites). You can request for made-to-order omelettes and egg dishes from the staff. The day we were there, there was also a big bowl of home-made yogurt which we topped up from the generous fruit basket next to it. We definitely left fully satisfied after breakfast!

Great Spot in Paraty

This hotel is located in a great location right in the historic district very close to the water and main square. The staff was extremely helpful in helping us book our schooner tour and answering all of our other (many) questions. The pool area is beautiful, and the entire premises made us feel like we were in an exotic place like Paraty, which is what we wanted. Also, they keep the hotel very secure, so we had peace of mind staying there as well.

Great Stay

Staff was very friendly. Room and grounds were very clean and kept up. Quiet neighborhood. Only a few blocks walk to all the restaurants and shops.

Nice traditional style Pousada

Lovely building and rooms set on the sea side of the old town. Very helpful staff who can advise on local trips and excursions. Bar and pool are in beautiful setting, breakfast offers fresh fruit and and other tradional Brazilian fare.

Lovely well kept hotel sea side of the old town.

Quiet but easy walking distance to centre of old town and old port. Very traditional setting and ask the staff about the variety of excursions or just for advice on what to do. Perfect place for a short break away from the busier cites and places in Brazil. Internet slow but works.

Charming hotel in the heart of Paraty

I love this hotel, we have stayed twice there and both times were wonderful experiences. It is charming, quiet and close to everything you want to see and do in Paraty.

Beautiful historic pousada in quiet location right on the edge of Paraty. Pool and lounge areas were beautifully furnished. Breakfast excellent. Staff very helpful.

Lovely hotel

Located in the heart of the old town which is a blessing and a curse! The old town is paved with boulders - not cobbles, boulders - which makes walking difficult at the best of time and impossible if dragging a suitcase ! Taking a taxi is a must if you have any heavy luggage and you need to make sure they know where the hotel is since vehicles are excluded from the old town and there's only a single access to the hotel. Once there however you'll find a haven of tranquility with helpful, friendly staff and simple but clean and comfortable rooms.

In the old town, close to the pier

Make no mistake, this is a superb hotel – but you have to understand it in the context of the town in which it’s situated. Our room was actually across the street from the main hotel, and had a full en-suite, flat-screen TV (some international channels including US/English), and a fridge. It had a good A/C wall unit with remote control. I must admit, even though it was well appointed, it’s in the style of the locale which was a bit of shock, but I eventually got used to it and enjoyed it. For example, there are interior shutters that open to a (very, very small) private yard, which presumably was used to get air flowing back in the day. The staff are very friendly, speak English and are extremely helpful. The common facilities are beautiful, although the sauna was “closed for maintenance”. The swimming pool area has a bar and pool table. The comprehensive breakfast was served in a beautiful room, although we had to knock on the kitchen door to get coffee and milk. Everything else was out in the open buffet style. The hotel is situated on one end of town (the town is very walkable), but I would recommend getting a taxi if you have luggage since the cobbled streets are hard to walk even without the luggage. It cost us about $10 to get to the bus station. This is about the closest hotel you can get to the pier where all the schooners leave from. I would stay here again!

Pousada do Ouro

A very interesting hotel meticuosly renovated to the original colonial style, where details are kept. Several lounges and relaxing areas. The pool in a courtyard very calm and relaxing. The service and friendliness of the English spekaing staff was outstanding. We would recommend this hotel to anyone that is looking for somethin special, that one don't find in so many places.

Charming hotel in Paraty

Pousada da Ouro is conveniently located in the historic car free area of Paraty, close to the harbour for tours and to many excellent restaurants and bars. The hotel has a definite charm, with rooms simply but tastefully furnished - the breakfast room is lovely too with a typical Brazilian breakfast spread. The common areas are, like the rest of the hotel, clean and well maintained. What really makes the hotel though are the staff, who without exception, were all exceedingly friendly, courteous and helpful. If returning to Paraty, i would stay here again without hesitation.

Excelente pousada, com acomodações extremamente confortáveis e com uma bela decoração estilo colonial. A localização do estabelecimento, dentro do centro histórico, é excepcional, permitindo fácil locomoção pelos atrativos turísticos de Paraty. O café de manhã foi farto e delicioso, com todo os respeito às regras sanitárias. A limpeza da suíte, feita todos os dias, era exemplar. Amei Paraty

A Pousada é excelente, não gostei da localização do meu quarto, ficava fora da casa principal e era o último quarto da outra casa, cuja janela dava para rua com muito barulho de circulação, fora isso atendimento, limpeza, café da manhã, acesso ao centrinho e ao cais para os passeios a barco nada a acrescentar simplesmente incrível!

Nice stay in the heart of Paraty

Quite a nice stay. The hotel buildings are very nice, look quite traditional and are in good shape. Unfortunately we were given a room on their secondary building (which lies just across the street, less than 10 seconds away), but that brings some minor inconveniences, like having to cross a cobblestone street in the rain for breakfast, or in your bathing suit to use the pool. Also, when coming back to your room, you do need to pop by the reception so they can remotely open the door to the secondary building. It would really help to install an electronic system where you could just tap a card and the door would open... Otherwise it was fine. There were no shower gels in the toiletries, just soap bars. On the sustainability note, there are no "master switches" once you leave the room, so you could end up forgetting the ac or a light on... During covid times, they do ask you to book your breakfast and preorder it via a link which you get on your whatsapp, very user friendly and probably avoids waste, thumbs up. Location was amazing, super central. And the staff was extremely nice and polite.

Pousada no centro historico

Funcionários gentis e educados, café da manhã bom, pousada bonita, localizada no centro histórico. Não gostei do sistema de abertura da porta de acesso aos quartos anexos, poderia ser instalado um interfone que permitisse maior autonomia dos hóspedes. A manutenção do quarto precisa ser revista, troca de suportes de papel higiênico ( amarelado), exaustor do banheiro quebrado, desgaste do verniz da madeira dos cabideiros e móveis.
