It could be better
The staff at the front desk very friendly act with professionalism. Food was okay would be better with more choices. Rooms in need of upgrade, specially bathrooms and outlets only feed European charges. The reception provide chargers as they gets it doesn’t have enough to distribute among the rooms.
Me encantó
Nothing new , it is old facility
I loved how they had a alley with shops and cafes that were included
I like everything
Everything was amazing. I stayed at the Senator and got 2 rooms for my in laws and my aunts. Staff was amazing and friendly. Food and drinks were just ok.
Was promise a king size bed and was double bed
I like the beach which was very peaceful and quiet i didn't see no vendors at all. I had just a wonderful time.
The place was t up to my stander
Love the staff, the food the great entertainment playa bachata has. Did not like the room it was too small and the bed together to make it a queen not a great idea. But overall we did had a great time
Very nice
Rooms need to be updated, no WiFi or plugs to charge phones, bathroom not clean. Food has no options, terrible taste
No internet at bedrooms. Old furniture.
Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this hotel
Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this hotel. The rooms were dirty, had a bad smell, and the A/C didn’t work properly. The food was awful with no variety, and the service was very poor overall. Definitely not a good experience.
Everyone was so nice and welcoming, there were so many activities to do and manny people to meet
Closet doors broken, sealing liking water, bad beverage and not good quality food
Everything was great. The cost is accessible. ..I loved the food...I spent a fun time there... thanks
Really great location but super dated and run down facilities. Also food was pretty bad, and I’m no foodie so that’s saying a lot. Last, it seems understaffed and the entertainment quality was pretty bad. But, if you’re looking for a cheap getaway, it’s a gorgeous beach location for a long weekend if you don’t mind all the rest.
Very old fashioned furniture and the room very fair from front areas the food was horrible the same food every day nasty never again
Cockroaches and spiders were found in 2 rooms
Friendly and sneaky
Nice room, Friendly staff, Food was good.
It’s not fancy but definitely well situated and well managed
Bathroom clogged everyday... horrible and smell of mold in room
The amenities are fine, the food is fine as well. The rooms are a bit outdated, we had to charge out cellphones in the bathroom cause the plugs in the room are outdated and the room have a “musty” smell.
Food is just general but good. I wasn't hungry.
My room got flooded with sewage water in the morning of December 28.
I like the cleaning ladies, good staff professional, no stealing, lots of fun stuff, good food... but i ended up spending more time at Senator because i became a platinum member.
Hotel room are old and outdated. Few items did not work in the rooms. Smelly water around facility and water smell in the room. Dessert was terrible same thing no Change food was ok Overall this resort playabachata needs renovations and improvements. Staff were nice and friendly thought.
You get what you paid
This property is old and poorly maintained. The staff is very friendly but lacks resources to help make your stay a good one.
I like the place, the food was good in the buffet but I wasnt able to reserve in any restaurant for dinner and the power went out like 10 times in less than 3 days that I stayed there
It’s a 3 star on a good day 2 star most days.
I would not call this place a four star by any stretch. You do get what you pay for with a few exceptions, during the week it’s great. During the weekend the place loads up with locals and it’s hard to get a chair and you wait forever at the buffet. Also, the bartenders if you don’t have money in your hand instantly skip over you and prefer to serve the locals first. The locals also love to brag how they pay half of what they charge foreigners. I won’t be going back.
this place smell like húmedo, food is bad quality, coffe cold. fruits wasn’t good , bathroom wasn’t clean like I expected ., This place shouldn’t be open if they wouldn’t be able to give quality to people
Something happened to me while I was sleeping in the room 1198 which I could not explain. Something attacked my private parts
Dirty linens, bugs everywhere in the room, non working phone, old and moldy. Buffet food was below average put nicely.
Vacaciones espectaculares. Las areas verdes, la piscina, el paseo junto a la playa pero sobre todo el servicio del equipo de trabajo epico. Las habitaciones comodas, limpias aunque necesitan una actualizacion. En general, volvemos!!!
I have stayed here more than 4 times and I love it.
It was just nice view of the beach
After checking in and settling for our 9 day holiday, we went walking around to get to know the resort. Well turns out 1/3 of the property is closed. After speaking to one of the landscapers he explained its closed until "all the canadians come and food is meh". This was not listed at all when we booked. We were missing a theater, at least one fancy restaurant,a couple bars, and the pool tables. The other 2/3 is the senator which the staff was pretty rude when you walked into if you had a playabachata band on. Definitely felt unwelcome which is where the gym, 3 other restaurant were, sports bar, arcade, and the nice beach loungers were that is advertised. On the 3rd night we noticed a GIANT cockroach on our wall where our 1 year old was sleeping, when my husband went to get it noticed we had multiple more, my leg got so swollen from a bite. Our friends also had a couple. Spoke to management and upgraded us to ocean front rooms. I recommend not booking the sunset Beach horse ride!! My friend and i got left on a very dirty beach for 1-2 hours alone as our tour guide left. Im now covered in at least 200 bites and now feeling unwell. We were the only 2 girls on the beach and really felt like we werent going to make it home. We were 2 hours late getting back to the resort and then they almost forgot to drop us off. Oh and the weekends they let in 700 locals, it gets very dirty (we found a drug bag on the path), loud and everything opens up just for them. Do not recommend coming
Friendly staff and great service
The bathroom shower wasn’t working, the tub was clogged at the door they used a piece cloth, something looking like a piece of sheet for the floor mat. I checked out one day early, crosss.
Excellent
Just average hotel with limited food. Nice pools and nice stuff
Not bad place
I lost my ring in the pool area maybe if you have more video camera that was more easy to recover. But everything was good
Pueden mejorar !
It was great definitely be going back
Muy buen servicio de puede repetir
They need remodeling. The air conditioning did not work and they had to relocate me twice to different rooms, but the staff were very efficient and very friendly.
Beautiful & soooo fun!!
They had keys and not key cards.. So they charged me for the keys and the safe keys.. They didn’t have a spare. It seemed convenient for them because they charged me for losing the keys..
Very nice room and food were delicious
The air conditioning system was poor some staff members where very rude
I don’t believe it’s appropriate to make repairs (shut off the electricity and water) while there’s guess at the hotel.
The food was no good no WiFi in the rooms and the ac wasn’t good. Needed to change rooms and still like that the ac wasn’t that good
The property was nice and has very nice staff. But i have one dislike and unfortunately it can be a deal breaker for some. the cockroach in the rooms at time. Otherwise no other complaints
Property was ok needs some renovation
Excellent
Fantastic staff, namely Margarita, Fabio and Simon. Entertainers were great
Not good
Beaches very nice
I have been there many times this time for 5 day / the first 2 days everything was fine but on day 3 and 4 the power went out from 11pm until 5 am it was terrible it was very very hot and they had no emergency generator. It was very bad.
Old air condition feels like a fan when is on. We had no electricity from 1am to almost 5 am
The staff was excellent! They where Very helpful and attentive . The food was okay .. I enjoyed the breakfast. The drinks feel like they were watered down. But a beautiful property and I like the fact that you have like a little balcony in the gym is great but it's in El senator. The only cons were that they were no towels in wash rags or an iron in the rooms. They should also have a little gifts soaps and gels like most hotels do. They really need to expand the Wi-Fi past the lobby in the pool areas.. I've noticed when you go by El senator you can get the Wi-Fi from them being on the beach. the activities can be a little bit more polished especially the shows. I didn't like the fact that you had to get up 8:30 to make reservations for the dinner specials.. for the guests who arrived that day who want to go to dinner special should be given options of time that they want to do so or days they can do it at 7 happened to be there at a certain time. But my stay here was okay overall.
Love the place the people staff are always willing to help out my 2nd home
I regret not reading the reviews before booking. When we arrived on a Saturday, the place was extremely crowded, with kids running around everywhere. We found out that the resort is open to locals from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. During that time, breakfast, lunch, and dinner were so busy that it was almost impossible to find a table. However, from Monday to Friday morning, the atmosphere was much more relaxed and peaceful. The room itself was outdated. The furniture was old, and the outlets were so antiquated that we couldn’t plug in our iPhone chargers. Although the front desk offered extension cords for rent, we ended up charging our phones in the lobby. The food was just average. There were no premium liquor options, and they didn’t even have a drink menu. I had to buy my own coconut rum because they didn’t stock it. While some of the daily drinks were decent, the bar, overall, was disappointing. The buffet was mediocre, and I wish there had been more local dishes. The beach was clean, but most of the beach chairs were broken. The main pool was always crowded with kids, so we avoided it. There was a quieter, more secluded pool a little farther away. On the weekends, they ran out of beach towels because of the large crowds. The staff, for the most part, was unfriendly. The only exception was Vianelys, a server in the dining room, who was consistently friendly and helpful. Overall I do not recommend this resort. You get what you pay for.
The food was very bad, the drinks wasn’t good at all I will not recommend this all inclusive to no one, They make the Mamajuana from wine instead of white liquor, I will never ever come back again.. I give them one out of ten….
Service and drink is no good
La Propiedad no tiene toallas de playa, ni toallas suficientes para las habitaciones habia que entregarle las toallas para que ellos la labaran y luego devolverla, este Risort le daria un 2 estrella. Espero que puedan mejorar.
Food was trash drinks was trash some stuff were terrible beds are old and had dirt spots on them
Peaceful
Probably was clean. Food was good. Shows was repeat. stay for a week every night kid show was exactly the same. entertainment was boring. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Would’ve been better if the shows were different and not on repeat. more nightlife entertainment.
Definitely never again. Cleanness sucked!!! Place had no towels for the beach or the swimming pool. & swimming pool was not clean. Lines for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, took over 30minutes. & they never had clean plates. Food was not flavorful. No clean tables/no utensils. Rooms can definitely use upgrades and mattresses as well.
I love everything, will enjoy,
Great attention and good food.
This really the worst resort in puerto plata Dominican Republic the prices is fine
The staff wasn’t very friendly or serviceable. They were always running around with out putting attention to any guests. Every day we had to ask even for get water in our table… above everything place is soooo noisy even in the restaurant.
If you’re into quiet and relaxation then go Mon-Thursday and if you’re into the party life Friday-Sunday. WiFi is only available in the lobby & pool area not in the rooms. This is a good thing because you get to disconnect from your everyday norm. This place is a 10/10 for me. Def recommend. P.s you’ll be eating a lot too lol :)
I think is a cost-effective all inclusive option.
It’s as three hotels in one. Good environment!
We stay here for six night seven day the Food was the same thing even day! People are smoking everywhere even on the beach, room was a -0, four people checked in and two towels, one outlet... Beach towel keep running out on and on.
I love the place but customer service is very poor my check in was @ 3pm and there was no towels or blankets in the room I ask many times to please bring in the towels and blankets they brought it at next day. They also told Me I had to check out at 12:00pm instead of 3.
old not well maintained, roaches everywhere all over main bar, mattresses like concrete no mattress protector stained from top to bottom, on weekends opened to locals who proved to be rude and overwelmed every aspect from bar to buffet to pool place looked like tornado hit it will NEVER go back worse food ever
todo muy bien. el ambiente, los chicos de animacion, la playa, instalaciones y amabilidad del personal.
Not a quiet resort thats forsure. If your comimg to relax not the place for that. Its a good spot though all in all. We had fun.
The room no good air conditioner no working nothing work
Amazing hotel staff is amazing especially chocolate he is amazing one of the best staff
very good
Very old fashion, need to be remodeled asap!! The pool was dirty very cheap liquor. Only the beer was good the buffet was trash, the room was so old fashion that if you want to charge your cellphone or anything you need to rent an adapter at the lobby so you can use the outlets
Was good
Excellent resort if you’re looking for basic resorts experience.
Good price
The property itself is very nice. My only problems was with the rooms. The bathroom specifically. The only thing they gave us was two bath towels. No hand soaps, no hand towels, no face cloth, none of the things that you were find in a normal hotel room.
Love the beach area
I love the coffeshop
The condition of the property was terrible it was so dirty and the smell of mildew in the room was unbearable also the furniture was very outdated.
I recently visited Playabachata Bahia de Maimon from August 16 to August 20, 2024, and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had.First, the condition of the rooms was absolutely unacceptable. The bed had noticeable stains, the walls had significant cracks, and worst of all, the room was infested with bed bugs and other insects. The shower was barely functional, and the presence of black mold was particularly alarming. This was especially concerning because two members of my family, including my son, have severe asthma, and exposing them to such an environment was extremely dangerous. The hotel did offer alternative rooms, but unfortunately, these rooms had the same issues—mold, insects, and general disrepair. Even the so-called “better suite” they offered was just as bad. The fact that they thought these accommodations were acceptable is beyond understanding. When I tried to address these issues with the hotel staff, they were unhelpful and dismissive. They suggested that I contact Expedia for a refund, but when Expedia reached out, the hotel refused to approve it, despite the clear and serious health risks we faced. This lack of accountability and care for their guests is unacceptable. I was forced to leave the hotel because it was simply unsafe for my family to stay there. It’s clear that the management is more interested in making excuses than actually providing a safe and comfortable environment for their guests. If you're considerin

All were good but with one exception. They canceled the transfer (shuttle) from hotel to airport, that was included in my itinerary and for that I paid. I was in situation to pay the taxi, that it was a little bit expensive.
