The 6 bedroom room, was just big enough for us. The room was quickly warmed up by the heatpump. The kitchen was well setup and the fridges were perfect to keep our food fresh. Oh, and the breakfast was just what we needed to start the day
Great Spa and Sauna to recover from trekking. Friendly staff.
Good quiet place Food & drinks great & not expensive
very nice and approachable staff, overall it's an excellent place. will surely recommend this!!
poor heating for room. bunk bed very small and poor.
Very good & clean service staff also good
Great stay
Great stay. Spacious Lounge area and quiet.
Enjoyable stay. Excellent service.
Great
All staff were so kind, always willing to help, and very professional. So thank you to each and everyone for everything! However, the premises are in serious need of renovation and update, and the couches should be replaced by new ones, with no stains or holes. Also, while the communal area was decently heated at night, it was quite cold in the morning. Finally, breakfast was a little too basic for the price we paid (the average price of a 5-star hotel). So altogether, overpriced accommodation with a large room for improvement.
For a lodge is good
This is a lodge, not a hotel so that people need to manage their expectations, main points: - Staff is friendly - Hotel is warm enough for cold weather, but no control for heating is in the room, it is centrally controlled - Toilets, bathroom and hot water are all good - Beds are not very comfy - Have not tried the lodge restaurant food - Complimentary hot drinks and drinking water tap are in lounge area only, so you have to leave your room for those and go back - Kitchen area for cooking your own food is available - Cleanness is average (unless you're not fussy) - Free parking is available - Continental breakfast is average

We enjoyed our stay here, its very family friendly and excellent place to stay for a trip to the mountains and areas nearby. With unlimited tea/coffee and a wonderful lobby area with games to play and a fireplace, made the stay really enjoyable !
Staff are super helpful and very polite. My 3 children and I very much enjoyed our stay. Would definately come stay again 😊 highly recommended
The staff member that i talked to was very helpful.
Very friendly staff
Affordable jumping off point if you want to stay in the National Park Village for its nearby activities. Great for families.
Good spot to stay for doing Tongariro crossing.
Nice lodge
Nice lodge to stay at, clean and has a nice lounge
Awesome atmosphere. Owners so welcoming and friendly. Loved our stay.
Enjoyed the place very much
Due to a massive storm the power was out on arrival. It was no fault of the lodge however the staff were extremely accommodating and very helpful. My daughter and had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

Awesome family environment with super friendly staff!
We booked Pipers Lodge as we we decided two days prior to have an Easter Weekend MTB adventure. We knew it would be "no frills" but we were pleasantly surprised with value for money. Staff were lovely on check in, and check out. Showers were great after a long day outside - with great pressure and warmth. Great to have towels provided also. The bed was comfy, and the linen was just right for the temperature we were having that weekend. Heaters in the room work well also, and great to have a basin in room so you don't need to experience cold too early in the morning to brush your teeth. Bar was also great (which always helps!)
They make me feel very welcome on rival and allowed me to park my motorbike while I did the Alpine Crossing walk which I really appreciated
The place was nice enough: clean and a nice fire place in the lounge. - no water fountain and can’t fill up your bottle in the bathroom. If you want to drink water you need to go to the bar. - they do not provide towels so if you want to have a shower bring your own.
Great base camp
A great little ski lodge in the middle of National Park village, only 20mins from the mountains. A great place to set up base camp, big fire, bar, food, heating- everything you need. We'll be back.
Nice, cozy lounge area; room was clean, soft towels. Can hear neighbors next door, but ear plugs or white noise will take care of that.
Great lounge, hot tubs, kitchen, staff. Wifi did not work in our room. No a/c.
The staff are friendly and accommodating The complex is clean and tidy with a homely feel about it!
My dad and l stayed here a night before doing the tongariro crossing. We had a twin room with comfortable beds and it was very clean. Big bonus was the hot pools! Great kitchen too!
Friendly people , very clean and super comfortable and warm bunk beds !
Very nice kitchen facilities. Very friendly staff. Enjoyed the spa.
Good family value!
The lodge was clean and had good amenities. Bunk beds and doors were a little squeaky!
It was clean but pretty hectic. The staff were very helpful and if was value for money
It’s a lodge so don’t expect it to be similar to hotels
ski lodge
Ski trip. Pipers is always our first accommodation. you get what you paid for. nice and warm room. However, don't expect wifi will work.=P
Everything. Staffs were so rude. Free cancellation was an option but nothing was done.
Clean and tidy. Very old and a bit of a rabbit warren... but good for the price. nice central gathering area and great kitchen for preparing own food.
Rude staff. Most times in New Zealand you get what you for. Here you get less.
Excellent ambience
Amazing ambience everything from to service was excellent
Fantastic location, staff and facilities. Amazing bar and fire
Easy parking late check in was fine. Nice and comfy beds
Good basic accomodation. Off season so restaurant not open.
I liked that this place had a Jacuzzi and nice lounge when we could hang out and have some coffee
Very friendly and welcoming, spotlessly clean room and bedding, hot showers - Perfect for our one-night stay and early start on the Tongariro Crossing!
Tongariro Crossing
Ideal location for walking the Tongariro Crossing

A nice compromise between a hostel and hotel type of accommodation. Could be cleaner.
