Just perfect

Breathtaking views, spotlessly clean and a really welcoming host , we loved this hostel and will stay again.

Exceptionally kind and helpfull hosts. Breakfast with not very many options, but all the basics covered and featuring excellent fresh bread and expresso, served on a roof-top terrace with amazing view. Bathroom newly remodeled, super clean and modern. Very safe residential neigborhood with free street parking. Minuses include quite narrow bed (twin) and relatively small room. Also, be aware that there is no elevator and there are already quite a few steep steps to climb before the main entrance.

Isabel and Ema gave us a really warm welcome. We got an upgrade. The room was son meticulously arranged and the building is tastefully decorated. The terrace has a lot of seating and a wonderful view of the city. Breakfast was delicious and the stay just perfect, so quiet. Bed top notch. Thank you, Isabel!

Great view. Easy walk to the city. Comfortable room. Staff was friendly. Slight issue with the balcony door seeping rain water but that was mitigated immediately.

This property is in a nice neighborhood up on the top of the hill near the university. The views are very nice and the suites are very large and comfortable. Parking is on the street and is safe overnight. A breakfast is supplied and is located on the top floor with inside and outside seating from which to take in the views. The staff are very helpful and informative. We left our car parked on the street and walked all over, occasionally taking an Uber back up the hill. I would highly recommend the suites in this property.

Loved the rooftop terrace, room was small but we had a room with a couch right outside our door and lots of room on the rooftop overlooking the city, highly recommend. Staff was great and very helpful.

Great stay for our one night stopover

Cute little boutique hospital. Stayed with my family of six for one night. Kids loved that we all slept in bunk beds in the family room. It’s small (the family room) but we were only there one night and there is plenty of cute space to hang out outside the room.

This was one of the most beautiful places to stay in Portugal. Excellent facilities, amazing breakfast and service, rooms clean and well appointed, and walking trails directly across the streer. Walking distance to many restaurants and delivery to hotel quick and inexpensive. Cannot reccomend enough. Decorated artistically and was a dream to stay in. You will not regret, cannot wait to visit again. The views offered cannot be beat.

Recently renovated, tastefully decorated & charming small inn converted from a historic merchant's house, about 15 minutes walk (uphill) from the University historic district. Free parking, fabulous breakfast is included, served on the top floor with a covered patio offering stunning views of the city & beyond. Staff was super-helpful, and very kind. An excellent value--we loved staying there. One downside: the building is not accessible if you are unable to climb stairs, or have mobility issues. (One flight up to get into the building, two more flights up to the breakfast room from there, and there is no lift.) Also, we were surprised to learn that the hotel management does not support recycling, though it's mandatory in Coimbra. The hotel does not provide collection bins & so they just throw out all clean bottles, cans & paper. Other than that, it was great!

The Penedo da Saudade was a terrific base for Coimbta. The staff were very helpful. the breakfast was the best we have had with options from cheese and meat to pastries and yogurt with muesli. This was an easy base to explore the university and the gardens. There is good bus access. Well except for during the commencement celebration! Thankfully the staff made us aware of that and we spent the day elsewhere

The property was beautifully restored. The terrace is really nice. Miguel ?, who checked us in and served breakfast was very helpful. He mapped out a nice walking tour and gave us good restaurant recommendation.

Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome.Hotel was very clean ,great breakfast with lovely views. Room was modern ,clean and comfortable-bathroom a little on the small side but I think that’s reasonable considering the price.easy to walk into town ,I would definitely recommend this hotel .

Around 12 mins walk to the Universidade de Coimbra. It's on a small hill but can be reached comfortably on foot. The room layout is a little weird in which the semi-open bath/toilet is quite closed to bed. Breakfast is in a decent continental style.

A recepcionista e o anfitrião do café são muito simpáticos. Sentimos falta de ovos no café da manhã. Os demais itens da hospedagem foram excelentes - ficamos no quarto térreo bem espaçoso e silencioso.

Le séjour c’est très bien passé les instructions sont claire , accessible à toute heure. Une chambre qui sent très bon c’est assez rare, avec un confort et une propreté impecable. Nous avons pris le petit déjeuner également qui est très complet. Le personnel est très sympathique et à l’écoute de vos besoin.

Hotel pulito e servizio professionale, di passaggio per una notte, non ho usufruito della colazione perché in partenza per l'aeroporto la mattina molto presto quindi non posso giudicare, il parcheggio esterno dietro l'albergo è gratuito, quello sotterraneo è a pagamento

The property is located in a hill, so you get a great view of the city. It is a little off the city center, so you need to take a cab or Uber to get there.

Beaucoup d’escaliers pour mon goût. jolie chambre , très propre. Accueil excellent, mais pour le prix je m’attendais à une bouilloire et café thé dans la chambre. Le ventilateur dans la salle de bain est hyper bruyant. Aussi on entend tous les pas et bruits d’eau des gens au dessus.

Établissement parfait! Rien à dire ! Situation proche du centre à pied et un accueil extra. La suite était spacieuse et très belle! Super petit déjeuner sur le roof top avec vue imprenable sur la ville! Je recommande vivement!

IDEAL AU CALME A COIMBRA

Emplacement au calme, à 15 mn à pied du centre ville (attention au dénivelé), et à quelques pas de la fameuse et intéressante à visiter université de Coimbra. Chambre très agréable (suite Universidade), avec un petit bémol concernant l'isolation phonique et une odeur (certes faible) de tuyauterie dans les WC. Petit déjeuner au top en terrasse.

Alojamiento perfecto en Coimbra

Muy bien ubicado, el Penedo da Saudade Suites & Hostel resulta encantador con sus referencias al mundo academico. Un edificio hermoso y muy bien cuidado, con habitaciones con decoracion moderna y bien cuidadas. La experiencia fue estupenda

Tudo excepcional. Único ponto a melhorar é o sensor da luz no meu quarto estar mal localizado. Quando estava a tomar banho a luz desligava.

Lovely restored old mansion from 1920 but the concept fails in my eyes; hostel and suite doesn't fit. The clients don't match (party crowd and hotel guest) Noise level high due to 1. young crowd, 2. cobbled street (car every 2mins) and 3. non-existing noise isolation of the rooms (roof top is common room, so even hostel folks are walking in corridor till midnight Very tiny open bathroom, dry siphon stinks (problem in many old buildings around the world). Good beds, good breakfast as well. So even the "upgrade" to a suite couldn't convince me to return even my evaluation with Expedia numbers might show different: low value (paid around 80€/night) Good idea poorly realised - if you want to sleep, go elsewhere

Nos ha gustado mucho. Habitación sencilla pero no faltaba de nada. Limpia. Todo lo demás muy agradable: zonas comunes, comedor y cocina...vamos como si estuvieras en casa. Personal muy agradable y servicial. Absolutamente recomendable.

SILENCIO E SOSSEGO. Proximidade com o Jardim Botânico e Universidade de Coimbra são pontos altos.
