Upgrade and modernise PLEASE!!!
It is so sad to see that a hotel and complex like that has not been upgraded to move with the times. I last stayed here about 6 years ago and everything, the decor included is exactly the same. No restaurant, bar section in the hotel (Metcourt) anymore. IN DIRE NEED OF AN UPGRADE TO MOVE ONTO THE CURRENT TIMES.
OK for under $40
In dire need of an update. Run down.
There are things to do like swim and play tennis. Housekeeping was a bit negligent ( they left things in my room)
I didn’t like anything everything was bad, staff not helping answering my questions and first night I asked for bathroom towels three times from 16.30 to 20.30 that’s when I given following day same and I didn’t ask I used bed sheets since the room had two single bed
The carpet needs a refresh .
The hotel is good. Efficient staff. I didnt like the smell of smoke downstairs. Im pleased it didnt filter upstairs to the room. Tastefully decorated rooms.
The Hotel requires a Bar and catering facility I travel plenty and when I check in I do not wish to then have to get back in my car and go to sister Hotel for dinner and breakfST
The pool side was great
The whole hotel felt tacky the room although smells like smoke. The Room was super small with old style furnishing and a TV the Size of a Laptop Screen. Next to the Main Road with lots of noise. For Breakfast and Supper, you had to drive to the other Peermont Hotel not great at all. I cancelled my booking there, they promised to Refund me but the reneged on the Deal. Not Recommended at all
Extremely friendly staff
This property does not match the photos! The furniture was dirty and out dated! The receptionist was not at the desk when I arrived. No one knew where she was. I asked for the remote for the TV 3 times and never received it. There was not kettle in the room, however the night attendant was kind enough to find one for me. Horrible experience-I actually left a day early due to the poor customer service! I travelled by plane 2 days, and this is how I was rewarded for stating at your accommodation! Horrible expereice!
No room service which really inconvenience me to go to main hotel for food and beverages
The facilities were a little "tired". Only one towel in double room, no hairdryer. But a good buffet breakfast and helpful staff. The "Grand Palm" has fallen far, and has some of the poorest hotel restrooms we have visited. The last "signed' check was 3 months previous!
One night stay over during my business trip to Botswana hope to return again
Good for budget travellers. Practical average hotel to spend a night or two.
Not a very pleasant stay.
Terrible room. Rooms too tight. Noisy heater. Above all no dinner served. Walking to eat at the Grand Palm in the dark was not fun. They should access route between the two sister hotels.
Staff are courteous and everything is clean. Rooms are small but OK for 2-3 nights. In-room WiFI was non-existent - I had to sit in reception whenever I needed Internet access. As I was staying for business, this was terrible.
Average stay. Staff has poor customer service. Training required for staff
Nice thank you
Dirty swimming pool never clean until day before i left
Budget hotel in a wonderful location. All the expected extras were available. The AC needs to be upgraded. It was rather noisy
Amazing Service from Dedicated Staff Members
The staff members at the Peermont Metcourt Inn at The Grand Palm Resort were very helpful and accommodating. Their dedication to the comfort of their guests was inspiring. The facilities are nice, offering a wonderful experience for travelers. The breakfasts were quite enjoyable as well.
Great value for comfortable room
Comfortable bed, small bathroom, tight shower, but otherwise well equipped room. Good breakfast, nice to sit outside. Friendly staff. Very good value for price. Be sure to request nonsmoking room if you prefer that.
Acceptable budget hotel near GICC
Positives: good buffet breakfast with some changes each day, friendly staff, comfortable bed Negatives: Road noise in rooms on one side of building, wifi only worked in centre of building or extremities (not midway in each corridor, where my room was)
Room although clean was very small with not much space to move around.
If you don’t have choice you take this one
What we book room we don’t get
Because of an early meeting I ordered a lunch package. But the hotel forgot it.
The property is very clean and in good location. but i didn't like the fact that i was made to wait longer as i was told my name doesn't reflect on their system even though they acknowledged receipt of my payment voucher. to me it was not necessary to make me wait because the voucher was there. quiet disappointing.
Might need upgrading and renovations in some ageing stuff
Nice setting but otherwise disappointing
Terrible breakfast, specialising in tinned fruit and cornflakes, So despite the lovely pictures and the setting it is no better than a b&b.
There is not enough air in the rooms. i stayed at the ground floor and once almost fainted as no oxygen!!!
Great place , cold staff
The front desk staff are cold and non smiley and indifferent to guest needs
Metcourt at Grand Palm needs improvement in servic
The standards in this hotel have definitely dropped.Housekeeping was poor in my view. Towels not replaced. Tea bags and milk not replenished.Overall okay but service has to be improved.
Quiet hotel
Quiet hotel but a bit of a pain having to walk to sister hotel for breakfast - although it was very good. The tv had no renote control and there were no towels. Even tho I checked in early that's no excuse for having no rowels in the room. When a room is cleaned and changed is it not automatic to put in new towels?
Good Stay Peermont Metcourt Inn
Good hotel, good room and good breakfast. check in was easy, rooms were smelling good, staff friendly.
Good value for money
Nice and comfortable stay. Picked up from airport on the free shuttle and was checked in within 5 mins of arrival. Friendly & helpful staff.
Good
-
It's good for an overnight stay.
It was simple and convenient. The only inconvenience was having to cross over to Grand Palm for dinners as the on site facility offered very little choice..not my kind of food.
Good value for money. Breakfast had some good healthy options.
Return to my spritual home...........
After having left Botswana 2 years ago due to circumstances beyond my control, it was such a blessing to return and to stay in my erstwhile place of choice when visiting Gabs. It was a regular stay when attending meetings when I worked and lived in Jwaneng, Orapa and F/town
Metcourt Inn: Poor Service all around.
1) Room was not ready at check-in time - had to wait one hour; 2) Unfriendly and unhelpful staff and manager at check-in; 3) Unfriendly bar staff on Sunday 30 May who asked me to move away from the door (which was closed in any event) because my cigar was "too strong" despite this being a smoking area! 4) The bedding was terrible on the first night - slept on the mattress until the housekeeper "made a plan" for us the second night; 5) Upset stomach after every breakfast service; 6) Unfriendly staff on check out; 6) Needless to say, we won't be staying here again! Will stay at the Walmont Grand Palm next time around.
Horrible greasy breakfast. Cold servings. Cold breakfast Dusty room
Great hotel next to casino
I loved staying at the Metcourt. The rooms are small but well appointed. You have the use of the pool and facilities at the neighboring casino, where monkeys and peacocks roam. All and all a great stay, not far from the center of Gaborone.
nice hotel
need Taxi system near if you want to go to the city center. Also need clock in the room, and Iron and board. phone in the restrooms(Toillets) By the way is good hotel'
Close to airport and casino
Hairdryer did not work. No stock of local beer (St Louis Export) was disappointing. Very limited room service menu, but the boereworsroll meal that I had was good value for money.
Not good for single female traveler
I would not recommend this hotel for a single female. Front desk staff was very forward in as much came to my room and wanted to come in late at night. I did notify the manager of his disrespect.
Get what you pay for. Nothing fancy, but does the job.
Need a more modern air on system. Too loud when on, room really stuffy when if. Can't open windows to sleep, monkeys and Mosquitos! Need a rate without breakfast. Breakfast starts too late for me. Very disappointed in that I tried making a telephone booking only to be told that the hotel was full. A couple of minutes later I went on the Internet to look for other accommodation, only to see that there were 4 rooms still available. I did the booking like this only to discover that my credit card had already day been debited prior to my arrival and the cost was P300 or so more than the normal rate that I pay. I was then charged a further P20 on booking out. I will be reviewing my choice of hotels in Gabs, if I don't get an appropriate response to this mal. Check my record of supporting your establishment, I believe that I should be compensated for the incorrect info given by your reservations lady. Nic Hagerty
Great value
Friendly and efficient staff, clean comfortable rooms
JUST OK!
Internet was no good. Rooms and other facilities were ok. No expect more quality from 100usd accommodation fees!
Hotel/ facility
Housekeeping terrible, towel rail was hanging off the hooks and fixed the following day. There was water all over around the toilet. Room service nonexistent: no grilled food or brown bread, was advised to try outside Restuarants) I was made to pay a so called government levy on checkout ( I was not told about this by both Expedia or receptionist on check in)
Adequate
The towels are tiny, really tiny! housekeeping is not consistent. Every day there was something missing, whilst no real biggy it does get annoying. The in-room safes also do not accommodate full sized laptops.
Poor customer service.
Some unprofessional housekeepers and some restaurant employees. Can't you afford hampers for dirty linen and towels? Hated to see used towels and Linen placed in the hallways floor.Think of infection control, a division dececency. It's the hospitality industry. Had trouble with maintenance knowing early in the morning and mid morning to check out or chandelier filters!!!! No prior notice given of the pending or anticipated maintenance work. Problems with meals by room delivery from walmont peermont. There is a lack of coordination between Walmont and metcourt inn pertaining room services. We encountered poor customer service and simply a don't care attitude from some staff. Will not recommend anyone.
Trip to Botswana
Overnight stay with everything that was require
Good, except for the food
The food served, especially in room service, is lousy. Suggest management to review the catering in this hotel.
Metcourt Inn Review - Corne
Average stay, a problem was to pay extra tourism levies, this was unacceptable. Once payment has been done to Hotel.com, no further expenses must be applicable!!!
Pleasant, quiet stay
Did not feel safe leaving the property. The staff was friendly and helpful, always with a smile and genuine willing to be helpful.
Nice Hotel with a poor breakfast
The Hotel is ok according to a 3 start Standard. The breakfast has a really poor Quality. The stuff is not able to handle too many People. The hot components are bad and even the selection of fruits is not good
Good stay: very comfortable, clean, and well attended. Wifi was generally okay, although a bit sketchy at times - otherwise a very nice stay. The grounds and amenities at the Grand Palm are excellent.
Good value for money
Very good value for money and not lacking anything. The close proximity of the Grand Palm hotel with many excellent restaurants and gym is a great advantage.
I was there For Business and The Hotel Was Well Suited..
Shower door did not seal. so the floor was flooded. The air conditioner worked for 3 hours then is not affective. It was very hot.
Great value in Gaborone
Really nice hotel that I keep coming back to. Nicely situated in the grounds of the Grand Palm, has a good restaurant nearby and it's a few minutes drive from downtown.
Nice Hotel
It's one of the best in Gaborone, rooms are small but decent. I did not like it from the pictures online but in real it's just great and the best part are the grounds around the hotel, take a room facing them and not the highway.
Nice location in well maintained grounds
Good hotel that I keep coming back to. acfess to nice pool and great restaurants and in beautiful relaxing grounds. Rooms are small and with little personality but it's functional.
It was good
Bad cleaning staff.
Towels Large had to ask several times for an extra towel as there were two off us in the room.Cleaning of the room left a lot to b e desired.
The rooms are too small There was a door connecting our room to the other room and it was annoying to hear everything they were doing or saying I was surprised to be told only when I was leaving that breakfast was not included in the costs
Never again.
How is it possible you have to ask for towels 3 times and the explanation is water shortage, but they do sprinkle the lawns...a smile is for free, but apparently it s not part of this hotels culture. Will never stay here again...this is not a hitel for business people, i know backpackers and local hotels in Gaborone that are more value for money.
My stay was comfortable at this hotel
The Hotel is fairly comfortable especially if a person spends most of the day away from the hotel and comes back to sleep. Breakfast is somehow fine but I think there is a room for improvement.
Restful 2 days by a pool.
Efficient staff who ensured that everything went well in checking in. Room well equipped and of a high standard. Restful time and really enjoyed use of the pool.
Nice Accomodation
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were there for a weekend meeting. The staff were great and accommodating.
Not an enjoyable experience at all
The rooms are so tiny that 2 people cannot share comfortably as one person has to continually make way for the other in order to pass. The clothes cupboard is tiny with a dark wood interior so that you cannot see what is inside and the poor general lighting in the room is abysmal so that you have to take anything you need to read to the window or out to the corridor in order to have sufficient light (the light over the desk didn't work). There is no decent mirror - the one in the bathroom is small and badly lit (making it hard for a man to shave) and there is one other short mirror over the desk which you have to bend or sit down to look into. The towels are thin and small and the bottom sheet is not fitted and is too small for the mattress so that every night you end up lying on the bare mattress. The service was grudging and although we had pre-booked and paid over the internet, there was no record of our having done so and no reservation in our name.
good
Located in a central area and good customer service by staff
excelent
every body was very friendly and helpful
Very Good Hotel and Welcoming Staff
My experience in the hotel was great. It wasn't my first time. However, this time around my room service was upgraded to an executive room instead because I was a returning customer. Thank you very much. I am a citizen of Botswana residing in the United Kingdom and I have find it cost effective to book via Expedia. The room service prices were cheaper for me than the locals. Thank you Expedia and thank you Metcourt for your business with Expedia. It really helped mainly for the reason being that the internet is unlimited when booked via Expedia, and the room service cheaper as well. Brilliant! All the way, anytime and everyday I was able to communicate with my family back in the U.K. The staff was so welcoming, they have passion for people and are all so lovely. The had beautiful smiles in their faces and at all times. Thank you very much for a warm hospitality. The breakfast is so fantastic, except that it was so British for me. I really wanted something different. Instead I will recommend the hotel to add traditional food in their menu. Mainly when you haven't been home for quite a long time. One would love to eat and taste something different. I understand and put into consideration that not all the people would like traditional food, depending on their cultures and background. But I strongly recommend a change in your breakfast Menu. Its worth trying to change and provide something different for others. The breakfast was so yummy, tasty and delicious. Thank you very much.
Fantastic service
Excellent as always except for the 1st night whereby the whole hotel was woken up due to alarm
Lovely, relaxed week at Metcourt Inn
Overall the experience was very impressive. The hotel was clean and staff always friendly and eager to help. Using the facilities at Grand Palm was a bonus otherwise would have fallen short of our expectations. The rooms were very spacious and relaxing with a nice bathroom. House keeping were at times quite slow and wouldn't have done rooms until late afternoon but things were always there when we needed them. The location was nice but if you are not up for a 5.5km walk into town expect to pay 30/50pula for taxis each time. The combi services are great value and efficient for 3,50 pula if you don't mind being a little squished! A nice variety of restaurants offering good food at very reasonable prices. Would definitely go back!
Friendly staff
I enjoyed my stay here, the staff was friendly, the hotel was clean and when go to Gaborone again I am definitely going to stay there again. The only problem there was no fridge in my room.
Goog
great location and cozy
Budget hotel in the compounds of a luxury one.
Friendly staff, access to facilities at the Grand Palm.
Overall not bad. I do feel as a first time guest, more about the hotel etc could be explained. I had no idea about where to have breakfast, what time it was served from etc.
Clean rooms and fantastic service
Pleasant stay,, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel must increase the number of ironing boards and irons, because they had only one iron board and two irons used by all the guests. Restaurant must close at least at 10H30 for breakfast, because we had to wake up very early for breakfast.
Good budget hotel
Good limited service hotel offering very good service opposite the 4* Grand Palm where you can use facilities for free and which has restaurants etc.
Decent for the pricetag
Decent hotel at a decent price. You get what you need - breakfast and you don't spend a fortune.
ENJOYED IT.
Good business hotel
Well located and with access to the facilities of the Grand Palm, which includes beautiful grounds and the restaurant Beef Baron, it is a functional hotel, with fairly small rooms but comfortable and sufficient for short stays. Perfect for the business traveller. Wifi does not work well in some rooms but in the reception area, it works well. Breakfast is extremely poor, the only real let down..
Pleasant stay
I was very tired when I arrived and the young man at reception was very upbeat and amusing and lifted my spirits. The cleaner for my room did a really good job. Quiiet room and a supermarket is 5 minutes walk. I asked the young man to arrange rhino tracking and transport. He said it would be 500 pula, which was unbelievable. In fact, In fact, I spent 1680 pula as I was the only participant but still that was fine and seeing rhinos close up was, of course, the highlight of my trip.
Good Hotel for Busines Travel
Very nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly.Location is good for busines.
decent deal for gabarone
i saw a lot of bad reviews about the staff. they were particularly good to me, so I promised to write them a good one. By mistake, I had booked the wrong night. I did it last minute and was confused by my flights about the date, so I actually reserved for the day before I arrived for one night. They had me marked as a no-show and that could've been that. However, I called and emailed and they bent over backwards to help me and they made good on MY mistake. i stayed on the second floor, so I can't speak to the ground floor. the walls are thin, etc., but that's pretty much the case everywhere nowadays. The grand palm complex is as fancy a place as you could want out here. Not my cup of tea, but for the first couple nights it was fine as i got used to the surroundings and found myself other accomodation. the prices are high, but accomodation is ridiculously expensive in gabarone, and no one seems to know why. But the people and the staff couldn't have been better and i reccomend the place highly.
comfy bed
the room was much too small an very uncomfortablenot enough space to sit comfortably an do admin work
Hotel warm comfortable and functional. The cost of the breakfast at the hotel is outrageous!!!! The quality of the food at the Grand Palm was not good at all. Over a 2 week period I stayed a total of 4 nights and ate at 2 of the restaurants. The only one that had a decent meal was Mokolwane Bistro. Feeling like something light, I ordered a burger from the Baron bar. It took them nearly 1 hr to deliver and the quality of the meat was a disgrace! Even the rumpo steak that I had at the Baron was of very poor quality. Being charged 150 BWP for a steak and chips one would expect a decent piece of meat. Not impressed at the quality of the food. Would not consider this hotel any time soon. The only reason I stayed here twice was because I pre-booked both weeks.
Unreliable service
My check-in in the hotel took about an hour. I was informed breakfast was included in my booking and asked to go for breakfast in the main hotel. Subsequently, I was expected to pay for breakfast. I stayed 4 nights but the WiFi tokens I was given expired too quickly, 1 hour or 1 day. The AC was disturbingly loud and I was not able to get much sleep. The location is at the outskirts of town and taxis there ask for P50, as opposed to the standard P40. On the bright side, the swimming pool was great for relaxing at the end of busy days!
Fantastic Sevice
One thing that really impressed me on my arrival at the airport was to find out that the hotel was offering free shuttle services, which I was not aware of. Friendly hotel staff, also enjoyed the benefits of a 5 star hotel located in the same premises. Rooms are small but modernly decorated and very comfortable beds. Nice huge garden for morning and evening walks and nice shopping malls not far from the hotel. One little downfall was that on my departure the shower burst out from the sides which I forgot to report at the reception since I was running late for my transport. I would definitely use this hotel again!
Brilliant location
It's a lovely hotel. Small rooms but clean. It's within the same grounds of the main big hotel with a casino so one has that entertainment . They have a nice machine in the passageway so all can reach.
Pleasant hotel in decent area
We had a terrible experience at the reception area when we were asked whether we had booked with the hotel. Apparently no communication was sent to the hotel by Expedia. We spent an hour arguing about emails sent to us as confirmation for payment. Expedia must sort the relationship with its partners. It seemed as if we were being creative about the bookings and it made for an unpleasant experience.
Room Location/ Privacy
Also would like to recommend your customers have a look at the hotel rooms they have booked in advance so that they can have a choice of rooms to choose from. The reason being that I was allocated the ground floor room. The room was not safe at all due to transparency, there was no privacy at all. At the back window of my room, the staff car was packing there almost everyday. And staff were walking and passing there almost everyday. I was very disappointed by this. All the staff passing by was mainly males and I felt very unsecure as a female customer because of these transparencies. Some of the windows were tinted, however, mine were not tinted and people could see through the back window if I was not careful. It was summer time and very hot inside the room, however, I could not even open my back window due to this. I would advice you recommend customers choose the rooms before arrivals in the hotel to avoid disappointment like this. Also there were no room service from the hotel even including breakfast. I will recommend you recommend Breakfast room service at least from your customers. Apart from this the staff was very excellent, friendly, very welcoming and caring. Very good cleaning service was provided and more over only expedia customers had an unlimited internet service and this was very helpful as I was able to speak to my family back in the U.K everyday. Thank you so much for this. Overall, I am quite happy for the service I have received from you. Thank you
When I arrived my room was not reserved. The hotel blamed the agent and I was not aware that I did my bookings through agents.

Amazing
