Fab stay
Lovely stay although the address was hard to find on sat nav. Needs more instructions.
The old monastery its built in has been preserved , making it everything i expected of a spanish Parador.
Superb hotel in a great location. All amenities that you would expect in a first class establishment, we will be back.
This Parador has retained many of it’s original features and has been beautifully restored.
Amazingly beautiful, in my opinion it should deserve a 5-star hotel!
Gorgeous setting
Lovely friendly and helpful staff with excellent english. There was a delay in getting a taxi for us to go to the station and the staff persisted to get it resolved. The parador itself is stunning and comfortable.
Stayed overnight en-route to Portugal. Staff were very friendly, the bed was comfortable and the bedroom and bathroom were immaculately clean. Difficult to navigate but well worth the effort
I was looking forward to our stay in the parador. It didn't disappoint. A building with a historic feel. The staff were friendly and our room was clean and tidy It's in a good location. We didn't use the swimming pool . It has a lovely outdoor seating area Having been out, we returned not too late to find the bar de noches closing This is not a criticism but a sign if you want a quiet peaceful stay, then this is the place for you An enjoyable short stay
Lovely Old Convent
We went to 4 Paradores just in this trip, and by far this one was the best! From check in to checkout everything was excellent! We were greeted warmly by Natalia who gave us a lovely superior room that was large, impeccable, bright, and with a lovely viewer the convent. The dining room is gorgeous and dinner was delicious! The location is great, right in the center of the walled old town. They have a safe parking reachable by a car elevator, super cool!
Excellent location and historic building close to everything. Parking is not on site.
The best place in Plasencia
No doubt, the town is lovely yet the best place in town is this Parador, ne better place to stay in one of the many in Spain. Could go back any time.
Impressive property, large room and nice bathroom. The restaurant and bar were understaffed and the gentleman at the front desk was particularly unfriendly, unhelpful and dismissive.
Disappointed with the front desk
My family and I have stayed at dozens of Paradors in all regions of Spain over the years and have very much enjoyed their character, service and restaurants. My adult daughter and I were very much looking forward to visiting the Parador of Plasencia as part of a trip to Spain in places our recently deceased wife and mother loved in memory of our 46th wedding anniversary and her birthday in October. Unfortunately, during a time of great personal stress, I erroneously made a scrolled booking on the Hotels.com website for two rooms for September 3-4, rather than October 3-4 [all of our other bookings were for the first two weeks in October]. Unfortunately, I only discovered the error when I received a “time to check in” notice from Hotels.com. I spoke immediately to a very kind Hotels.com representative who contacted the hotel to rescind our reservations but the only individual authorized to grant approval was unavailable. She left a detailed message and later followed up but the hotel insisted on charging for our rooms. Although they were within their right to do so, I am very disappointed that they weren’t more flexible, especially at a time in which I’m sure they could have rented the rooms to other guests.
Cheshire meets Placencia
Lovely location and super hotel Disappointed with the serving staff here Enough people just not organised
Good old style hotel.Staff is good.Do not book restaurant- they can set you in hotel’s corridors for dinner in chance)))). Good stop for one night. Parking is perfect.
Special Place
Difficult place to find - more signs needed, basic menu and unfriendly lady in charge of breakfast.
Three nights
Very nice hotel and the immediate surroundings were great. The only problem was the parking it was a nightmare at times.
The hotel is a lovely old but very comfortable ex monastery. Unfortunately the parking for the hotel is in another street via a lift and is chargeable from the hotel. There is street parking around the old city walls which is free. It can be busy though.
We only stayed there by chance but we found it the highlight of our trip. Excellent
Lots of character. Helpful staff. Great location. Parking which is difficult in the old town.
Our third visit!
Always a pleasure to stay in this beautiful Parador with its great facilities including swimming pool & secure parking as well as it’s close proximity to the central square.
The hotel could be slowly recuperating the Covid interruption. Service was short and not as efficient as the parador of Gasteiz
Amazing place to stay in Plasencia
Wonderfully restored convent in the center of historic Plasencia. Parking is a bit quirky with a self-serve elevator for your car, but worth the 13 euro
Fabulous building and installations, an old Dominic Convent from XVII Century, restored and beautifully decorated . Rooms are modern and clean full of amenities. Breakfast buffet is abundant and staff is very friendly. Location is next to very old medieval constructions, walking distance to main square and magnificent cathedral.
Wonderful stay; fantastic & spacious room; garage directly accessible;
Why my stay at a hotel when you can stay in a castle? Paradors are wonderful in general but this is my favorite so far! Opulent, historic and quiet, the food is exquisite and the service impeccable.
The history behind this hotel was very interesting and what a beautiful place to stay. Brought me back to the 1500’s. Only wish they had coffee and tea in the rooms are in the lobby for guests.
A hidden gem of a parador
What a wonderful surprise Plasencia turned out to be. The old city/fortress with its narrow cobbled streets and small shops selling local products is charming, quiet, beautiful. The old monastery is fascinating, very well preserved. Many of its updates interfere very little with the sense of the place: the glass doors that divide areas, for instance, that divide spaces are very thoughtfully placed.
Historical building with modern amenities. Situated in the old part of town and easy to get too.
Paradise Found
The Parador was exceptional, the rooms were large and spacious. It was like going back in time it was truly relaxing and a great place to be stress free.
Very much in character with the culture and history of Plasencia...An inspiring place to stay
Lovely building but third floor room was small with very small windows. Car park very challenging especially with a big car. Plasencia is a pleasant small city but not a lot to see.
Very nice and friendly place. We were very pleased.
Best by Far
We have stayed in many paradores over the last twenty years, some good, some bad and some indifferent, but the Parador de Plasencia has been by far the best. The high quality of the parador, the comfort, size and quality of the room, and especially the staff who were outstanding, so welcoming and helpful. The Parador itself is a fantastic building with great architectural and historical features and a tour of the place is essential. There are so many interesting things to see in the Parador, which was built as a monastery in the 15th century. The uniqueness of the car park just adds fun to the stay. The car park is accessed via a lift, which is certainly different for us, but fun. Don't worry you have more room than you think in the lift. We were driving a Hyundai Santa Fe and we had plenty of clearance. The location is great, being a five minute walk from Plaza Major, the centre of Plasencia, which is a very pleasant town with good restaurants. The Parador, being set back from town, is very quiet, which is welcome in the morning. This was the first time we stayed here but we shall definitely return.
Amazing hotel in Cáceres Spain
Amazing staff, food and the best breakfast bufe ever!
Traditional Hotel
We have stayed in many Paradors over the years, the bedroom we were given this time was not as good, it was small and quite dark. The Parador itself is impressive and includes underground parking which is absolutely excellent.
Lovely updated historical structure
We stayed 2 nights. The desk clerk offered us a $20 upgrade to a premium room and it was lovely, with a veranda and wrap-around view of the garden and hills. The fixtures and amenities were all up-to-date but still keeping in mind the historical nature of the structure.
Overnight stay enroute to Santander
Hotel was awesome, staff were very friendly and helpful, will definitely stay again
Life in a Ex-convent...
I loved it. Staff, except on reception, could have been more pleasant. Our lowest priced accommodation was very good. The dining room at 2040 was empty, but did fill slightly. Dinner was very good, but served at breakneck speed which I did not enjoy. Pool area only accessible with a key from reception, only 3ft deep and no bar. You could avoid the €13.00 parking fee if you trust your GPS, but would miss the experience of driving the car into a lift. Should note that the town closes on Sundays, but bars and restaurants are open as well as the farmacia. I would most definitely stay again.
Spectacular hotel.
The hotel is pretty, the only thing is the mattress and pillows!!! they should upgrade and will be a 5 star hotel!!!!!
Amazing hotel
Amazing hotel full of character. Car parking was different Through a portcullis into a car lift which was very narrow but certainly an experience. The room was large & very comfortable though very small window so a bit gloomy. Outside of the hotel lots to see & very convenient for shops, bars & restaurants
Quaint and picturesque
Very relaxing great experience
Overnight stay enroute to Portugal
Excellent hotel, large comfortable room, very peaceful and convenient for everything. We will certainly stay here again
Stunning, historical property.
The title says it all. I am so glad someone steered me to this place. I was here in Winter. in Summer it will be fabulous
Step back in time.
Stopped here en route from Bilbao to Algarve. Could not have been better. Situated in the center of this historic town, this Parador was a tonic after a weary day traveling. Welcoming and efficient staff quickly processed the reservation and escorted us to a spacious room with views over the rooftops. Dinner in the former Refectory, was first class with an emphasis on local produce and traditional recipes. As parking is difficult in the narrow streets, the Parador provides a quirky underground car park which is reached via car lift. There is an additional charge for this but worth it. Will return for a longer visit next time.
Stylish Hotel, but no sleep in room 84.
Hotel Miro is stylish and in a great location, near the Guggenheim and opposite a public car park. There's free coffee and juice in the downstairs reception area. We had room 84. It's on the top floor and next to the room that contains the AC control machines and various other bits of plant. It emits a constant hum and whirring sound. After a tiring day we fell asleep quickly but then the noise from this room became intrusive. Eventually at 4 am I called reception. A man was sent up, agreed that noise was unacceptable but couldn't do anything about it since access to the room was only available to the maintenance crew who weren't on duty. We couldn't be moved because the hotel was full. I agreed that he couldn't do anything and I would speak to the manager in the morning. Next day after very little sleep I talked to a lady on reception who I assume was the manager. She said that they never get complaints about that room, because the sound insulation is so good ! She apologized for our poor night's sleep and said she had discounted the bill to reflect the fact. The discount was 10%. I asked her if she thought we had had 90% of the value of our booking, she was unwilling or unable to do any more. We won't be back. Breakfast was included in our tariff. It was OK but not worth 18.50 euros per person.
Historic luxury living
Wonderful hotel full of character. Our room was large with a seating area - some had balconies. The pool area was pleasant although the maximum depth was only one metre! Service in the bar/restaurant was impeccable. The hotel has been superbly furnished with antiques and attracts people who just want to admire it. Not cheap but value for money in terms of quality accommodation.
Atmospheric Hotel
Fabulous overnight stay at the Parador driving up from South of Spain to Santander. Perfect location just off main road, very easy to find and lovely little town to spend some time around. If you love staying in character hotels, this place an old monastery full of atmoshphere and we loved it.
Pleasant stay with helpful staff
Beautiful castle with a very informative staff. We loved it!
Outstanding historical setting
Very impresses with atmosphere. This is a renovated castle . Very authentic. Good food.
Wonderful Parador in ancient setting a definite .
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in amazing setting, restaurant to be recommended and wonderful ambience there. A definite must for another visit to Spain.
Great location, lovely building
It's lovely to be able to stay in these old buildings and they have been converted so well.
Unique stay for the cost
We enjoyed a spacious room off the courtyard, with modern facilities. Excellent dinner, reasonably priced with attentive service and menus in English. The front desk very kindly told us of free parking available across on the street from the Parador's parking garage - the spots appeared to be pay and display once but are no longer monitored (the pay and display machine has been removed from service).
A beautiful hotel right in the centre.
A simply wonderful Hotel. Beautiful rooms. Beautiful breakfast and very nice dinners. The night porter was a charming lovely man. The receptionists were friendly - however not overfriendly - almost a bit reserved. However all in all a wonderful hotel. We will definitely go back there.
Hier zu übernachten is einfach etwas Besonderes.

A beautiful hotel in an intact, historic convent
The hotel is in a historic convent in which the original layout of the institution is preserved giving it a unique sense of place. My room was very large, nicely decorated with completely updated facilities.
