The staff provided unparalleled service!
Parking is off site, so be prepared to lug your suitcases for a bit of a walk. The hotel, however, is amazingly nice. The rooms are slightly above average, but the building itself is a 14th century masterpiece. Breakfast is decent. The little lounge cafe is great to have for an afternoon tea or evening cocktail. The annual medieval festival was underway during our stay. I woke up to parishioners singing at 6am mass. It was a very memorable experience
It is a beautiful property. The city is amazing and felt very safe. The twin beds pushed together was a disappointment and the staff seemed a bit unwelcoming.
The gentleman at the desk was very helpful with parking. Staff was friendly.
Amazing location in the old city. Can’t be beaten if you’re visiting for the history.
Excellent location good breakfast.
This Parador in the historic centre of Caceres, which is an UNESCO Heritage site. What the website fails to mention is that no traffic is allowed into the historic centre so you cannot drive to the Parador. This was only explained to us, by email, three days before we arrived. I was with my wife and able to follow the instructions given. f I had been on my own or had not been able to check my email I may well have gone into the prohibited zone, the signs were not large or particularly clear, and been fined. My wife had to walk to the Parador to check us in. I was then collected and taken to a car park in centre of town. I was charged €23 to park a motorbike there which was more than twice the amount of any other hotel, but I really had no choice. If I had known these arrangements beforehand, I probably would not have booked this Parador but one of the many hotels in the main town instead. Our room had high windows and felt like a cell. The service in restaurant at dinner was rushed. We ordered two veal dishes but only one arrived. The waiter said that there had been a mistake and another was being “prepared”. It was not clear whether it was his mistake or that of the kitchen staff. Meanwhile, the first dish was left with us to get cold. Within less than five minutes the second dish came. As we had asked for it cooked medium we were surprised it was this quick, that is until my wife cut into it. It was virtually raw and inedible. I refused to pay for that it was so bad.
The palace is in good condition and the staff is very good. It was expensive compared with other hotels and in the room not have coffee or tea or water. However the hotel was beautiful and the restaurant food was very good.
Stunning palace
Stunning medieval palace with high end fixtures in the bedroom. Really helpful staff.
Mixed opinions
Very nice building from outside, inside was a bit of a a disappointment, a bit bland. Unable to use the terrace until 9 pm. Restaurant & staff very good. Room nothing special but serviceable. Not cleaned properly. Wouldn’t rush to stay again.
Comfortable stay. Friendly staff. Excellent resturant.
We love this Parador, although the terrace they were remodeling the terrace and it was sad to know that we couldn’t enjoy one of the best things of the Parador. But the restaurant was good and the service was great
The Parador is consistent with other Paradors. If you enjoy being within a walled city, this Parador is perfect.
Excellent location
Excellent location
Charming old property in an UNESCO Heritage town. Amenities are all updated, comfortable, clean and modern. Wonderful breakfast!
I’ve been here before in ‘96 , paradores are a unique way of seeing Spain. I’ve visited over 60 in 30 years.
Incredible place with many ancient buildings. So atmospheric. Parador has large, comfortable, and well equipped rooms.
Stunning property right in the heart of the old part of town. Wondreful!
Parador de Caceres is perfectly located within the UNESCO protected historical district of this beautiful city. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Wonderful!
Worth the luxury experience in Caceres
Staying here was a highlight of our trip across Portugal and Spain. The hotel is stunning, along with the surroundings. Cleanliness and setup of our rooms was up-to-par with what you'd expect at a high end hotel. The room is lovely with luxuriously sized and equipped bathrooms. Only complaint was we wish the air conditioning worked in our room (found out from the front desk there was only heat available once we had checked in - unsure if it was a temporary issue). That said, we were lucky to be there in April when having the windows open still helped with the heat some. Nice to also be able to park right behind the hotel with our rental vehicle. Wish we could stay longer!
Fantastic stay thanks to the staff
Staff in general are superb. The restaurant staff, the front desk, all of them.
Loved it here! Amazing staff and very comfortable room. Great shower and tub.
I would stay here again. The staff was friendly and helpful!
Amazing !
A bit hard to get to with the narrow & 1-way streets but once you arrive, simply an amazing property ... the room we had was literally one of the best hotel rooms we've ever stayed in.
Very well situated in historic town. Small garden so can dine outside. Breakfast buffet expensive.
Property is absolutely beautiful. Also centrically located. Staff was extremely helpful, given our late arrival. Cáceres is Not to be missed. Breakfast buffet was good but eggs were not offered until we asked, it would have been helpful to know we could order them.
The hotel is inside the historic center. It’s beautiful and elegant. Parking is a problem but they help you work around it. Walking distance to all mayor sites and museums. The staff could not have been nicer and helpful.
Beautiful property. Amazing location. Very friendly staff. Strongly suggest eating dinner in their restaurant
Room was fine but I was expecting to have some nicer common areas for a Parador Hotel. Common areas were very small and bland and hotel overall had a pretty boring vibe. I was told I had parked my mid-class rental perfectly in the small parking area at check-in but another front desk person later requested I move even closer to the car next to me to give a high end BMW an excessive extra wide space to park. I guess they value some guest higher than others...
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean. The common areas were nice and well-kept. 10-15 minute walking distance from several Plazas and viewpoints. Overall an excellent stay.
Great Loacation
Wonderful hotel, located in the Old Town. Relatively easy to get to and if you miss a car park, the hotel arranges a secured car park 300m away. Restaurant was excellent. The Old Town is great to walk around in the evenings. The staff were excellent
Excellent in all respects
Right in the middle of the old city. Takes a confident driver to manoeuvre the narrow cobblestone alleys up the mountain. But once there you can enjoy the Middle Ages all around you
Loved the place. Getting there is a little dicey but just follow hotel direction they send. Great location. Plenty to see in area. Staff super helpful
Coffee in restaurant is very bitter
Beautiful Parador, excellent service, great location. Parking is not easy, which is normal for narrow medieval streets, but the stuff is very helpful with it. Strange that there wasn’t complimentary water bottle, one has to pay for it. For the coffee aficionados, the Parador could change their coffee machines with better ones.
Wow - an amazing and unique place to stay. The restaurant was fantastic (we ate their twice). Breakfast and service was great. Caceres was my favourite town to visit too.
This was a beautiful hotel. It was very modern inside a beautiful castle. The linens were wonderful. Great stay.
Good
This is what good looks like.
We arrived on a very hot day - we were able to park our touring motorcycle just by their gates, this is a very well run quality place to stay.
Loved it. Gorgeous place, beautifully renovated in an incredible beautiful setting.
Beautiful historic building perfectly located in the heart of this World Heritage town. Expensive, yes, but worth the extra.
Great location. Walking distance to all historical sites in the old town. Getting to the hotel and parking are challenging but the hotel has a system in place to deal with those challenges
Manuel at reception was incredibly helpful.
Lovely hotel right in the historic centre. Found free parking just outside with a short walk to hotel Breakfast was good
Beautiful property. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
The main reason I booked the property was the parking facility. It was such a big disappointment that the free parking the hotel offered was on a road side very small space while our car is a SUV too big for a narrow road side parking. We had no choice but to pay 19 Euro for an indoor parking which needed to be led by the hotel van to the garage and transferred back to hotel in the van. Access to the locked garage was inconvenience if not easy. When we finally went to bed after late dinner, we found that the twin beds were unstable and was too late and tired to change the room. Unfortunately the air conditioning of the room only allowed the temperature set between 21c to 23c which was too hot for us.
This parasite was an old palace with was unique, but wasn’t as special as I expected. Some staff were not fluent in English, no coffee in room or lobby, no complimentary refreshments like water or snacks at all. Our breakfast was not included although the room was the highest rate we payed on our whole trip.Had a much more special experience at a pousada in Portugal and paid far less.
The property is located in a landmark spot and it is a must to be seen. Rooms are spacious, The staff is kind, helpful, attentive and professional ... with a human touch of charm and cosiness. Look nowhere else !!! This is the place you want to stay in... let the premises surprise your sense every day of your stay ... enjoy awesome Cáceres ...
Wonderful experience. Highly recommended. Right in the heart of every thing there is to see in old Caceres. Staff was very accommodating.
This parador was in a historic building and in the charming old town but was not as historically outfitted as some paradores. Staff very helpful, parking available, and location excellent.
Outdtanding!
This is an outstanding hotel in an outstanding location. Outstanding quality for the price. Parking is tight, but included in the price. The city is beautiful and full of history. You will enjoy your stay.
Beautiful parador within the walls of the city. Clean, nice room, nice staff, large bathroom. There's even free parking in the back for the first 10 cars.
Very Nice Staff
Very nice and convenient place to stay. Staff was extremely helpful especially Luis at reception who I think has 20 clones running around helping everyone. Paco in the bar was terrific. Only 2 negative comments. First is the rugs in the room were badly stained and should be removed. Second is the breakfast at 18 euros per person is crazy for tourists so if you book it included it might be a better value. Apart from that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
Beautiful old castle hotel.
Very frustrating accessing it by car on narrow confusing streets. All personnel gracious and helpful.. Splendid building with modern amenities.
Built in an old palace. The lobby and main areas were absolutely beautiful. The room was a great size and very clean. The bathroom was great with a nice shower/ tub
location ............................................
Splendid former palace, very helpful staff, excellent location.
Historic
Beautiful historic building. Unfortunately some maintenance going on so not everything was available. It would’ve been nice to have the bar open in the afternoon. I would’ve also like to have seen a write-up on the building’s history.
Caceres Gem
The hotel is in the centre of the old town, which is a very old town. The building has been renovated superbly well and retains its history while benefitting from all modern conveniences. The room was superb and the staff very friendly and efficient. The location could not be better for exploring the sights of XV century Spain. The only possible difficulty is the car parking, this was very limited but we managed to get a spot.
Very nice hotel with charm and old world style
Travelling from Portugal to the UK
The Hotel is a very impressive building right in the heart of the Old Walled Town. We have stayed in Caseres 4 times and this location couldn't be better. Our room and bathroom were very modern despite being in such an old building. Get there early if you want a free parking space(probably only 6-8) outside the hotel. There is a chargeable 17 euros parking with a shuttle in a secure underground car park in the New Town.
A medieval palace in an ancient walled city!
I needed a halfway stop between Lisbon and Salamanca, and the Paradors always deliver a wonderful experience so I chose Caceres. It’s a beautiful, medieval walled city that boasts not only a Parador but a Relais & Chateau next door. That said, this town is probably only worth a one-night stay as it’s small. The service, food, rooms were charming - but could use an update. Overall, a lovely experience but I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to see Caceres.
Central position in a beautiful city.
Parking exceptionally difficult here but the staff help you all they can and the city is stunning. Not as much of the original character in this hotel as in some of the others.
Fantastic building. Staff friendly anud service good. The courtyard is lovely to sit in and enjoy a drink, dinner or breakfasts
Lovely place to stay
Very clean room. Excellent accommodation. Splendid outdoor garden restaurant
Outstanding hotel in an outstanding town like Caceres. The hotel is right in the middle of the old town. Great facility, very friendly and helpful staff, I can really recommend this hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable..
Very nice stay in the old town
The hotel is perfect. Right in the middle of the old town, close to restaurants and bars. The staff is very respectful and helpful. There is a little parking lot right in front of the hotel wich helps getting in and out. I fully recommend it.
What a gem. The staff genuinely cannot do enough to help. They even took me to the Seville road to ensure I was on the right route. Superb location and would highly recommend. Would definitely stay here again when next in Caceres. Well done guys and keep up the good, no great work. Paul R.
Staying in an authentic medieval fortified town
This Parador is in a world heritage medieval walled town and is the merging of two fortified buildings from those times. Though we really enjoyed our stay, in contradistinction to the other three Paradors we enjoyed, this one had only a view of an enclosed courtyard with a glass roof beneath us and sky. Do not follow GPS directions to go to the hotel as they are incorrect and it took us almost an hour to find our way, so be sure to contact them directly for instructions (Expedia does not provide them your contact information). On the other hand, the hotel was just refurbished in 2011 and has ultramodern bathroom facilities and an excellent restaurant. There are several courtyards, some enclosed and others open and are beautiful, with an orange tree and seating. We found the staff helpful. Caceres is definitely worth the visit as was the Parador.
Excellent location, customer service exceed expectations
Amazing hotel if you can find it!
This hotel is located within the old town of Caceres. We drove around about one hour before we found it and you have to drive in the wrong direction to get in and out. The streets are narrow and challenging at times. Once you are settled you will be happy you found it!
Difficult to reach
The Parador deCaceres is right in the center of the old city of Caceres. It was extremely difficult for us to reach in the big automobile we had leased to accommodate our group. Once there, we had to park outside the old city and be driven back to the hotel by their driver. When we were ready to leave, the hotel staff drove us back down in a van to our car. Although this sounds complicated, we did see some parking there for smaller cars and in no way did this deter us from enjoying our stay. The hotel is clean and the rooms were comfortable. The décor, however, lacks historical quality given its location. The staff was wonderful and helpful.
Parador in the centre of town, difficult to park.
Reception staff will help park your car. Meal in the restaurant was delicious.
A historical gem
Wonderful stay in the heart of historical Caceres.
Excellent hotel.
Centrally located. Very old nice hotel. Restaurant was very nice. Beds could be a little more comfortable
Welcoming hotel
We were welcomed by a member of staff as we were parking the car in a tight spot! He helped there, carried our cases, checked us in and took the cases to our room. He was very professional and welcoming. The hotel was excellent, in a good location for our visit to the old town and historic sites.
Luxury parador
Modern rooms, loved the maze like interiors of the hotel and common areas. Outstanding service from hotel staff
Historical Caceres
Fantastic hotel. Wonderful staff. Very interesting hotel as it is an historic building. The barman was very friendly and helpful. Gave advice on what to see - Caceres (old town) at night at the weekend as it is flood lit.
Majical Caceres
Travelling through Spain and lucky enough to hit on a night with a classical concert in the Plaza Major. A memory for life!
Great hotel in the historic part, friendly staff.
Nice Hotel, Some Difficulties
The parador and the room were nice enough, but the layout left much to be desired. The parador is composed of three former palacios, linked together. But the palacios were all on different levels, so the same is true of the hotels. To reach our room (215, which must be the farthest from the lobby in the entire hotel), we had to take steps up to the lobby from outside, then take an elevator to the second floor, then go down a full flight of steps, and after entering the room door, down another full flight of steps. In other words, even though the room was technically on the second floor, it was actually at the ground floor level. This was a significant problem with luggage and for my wife who has difficulty with stairs. The bathroom was 2-3 steps up from the bedroom. The parador was very difficult to find following Google Maps directions, and street signs were not much help. It is located well within the historic area, which is a maze of narrow streets and alleys, with many steps. Parking is in an underground garage outside the historic area, about 2-3 blocks from the hotel, although the hotel will shuttle you back and forth by van. Breakfast was adequate but no more. We did not try the restaurant.
Former medieval palace with today's comfort
Superb breakfast. Newspapers, tv, wifi and parking available at no extra cost.
A memorable experience.
We enjoyed staying is this really historic city. The hotel is in the oldest part, very hard to access by car. (We relied on TomTom, which did not know that some some streets are too narrow for the car: what an adventure!) The hotel is very modern inside its ancient walls. The restaurant provided delicious food, but the service was a bit slow due to trying to seat all diners at the same time.
5-star Parador
one of the best paradors we have stayed in and an excellent hotel with a very good restaurant.
caceres parador
super hotel. location ideal for plaza mayor. do eat at hotel
no helo with loggage
Excelent and beautiful place. Very nice and friendly people
Great!
Great hotel overall! Charming! Beautiful mix of old world and modern confort
Caceres parador 2015
Lovely building in a lovely part of the city. Not the easiest hotel to find requiring navigation around some very narrow streets. Satellite navigation recommended!Once in the hotel everything was fine and the location is great for seeing all the sights in the old town.
Wonderful stay!
Incredible hotel. The location is near the top of Caceres, walkable to all of the major sights. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Some rooms only have two single beds, which can be a drawback. Breakfast buffet is great with a nice selection of hot and cold, and espresso! Would highly recommend and stay here again.
real chraracter
Parador is a place with a real character. The drive through the Old town until we found it was a real experince, with some stress but also excitement. You should not miss places like Caseres and the Parador if you drive through that area of Spain.
Best Parador we've stayed at.
We had a one night stay whilst touring around Northern Spain. The historic centre of Caceres is lovely, and the Parador is right at the heart of it, a bit tricky to find as a result but that all adds to its charm. It's a respectful conversion of a historical building but with top notch modern fittings. Staff were great, particularly in how they solve the parking and luggage issues. We loved it.
Wonderful stay
The very best location. Wonderful stay.
Modern comfort in historic style.
In the beautifully preserved UNESCO village of Caceres, this parador commands a top notch location just off one of the main plazas. The staff is exceptionally accommodating and provides a warm welcome and high service. Our standard room was very large and well appointed with good amenities, a comfortable bed, great shower, high grade linens and towels. The wifi worked very well throughout the building. There is onsite parking available but it is somewhat limited. However, we were informed that if the spaces were full, the staff would assist in parking the car in a garage and shuttling us back to the hotel. Restaurants, cultural sites, and all areas for visiting were within a short walk. Staying here added a wonderful touch to the overall experience of visiting this town.
Great trip!
Beautiful hotel perfectly located in the heart of the historic city.
Well renovated and located in old city
This would have been an ideal hotel located in the small and interesting old city of Caceres (not comparable to places like Toledo, Granada, Cordoba, Segovia, Ronda or Salamanca, but still worth visiting), if not for its noise and lack of parking (we arrived at the hotel after squeezing through many narrow streets only to discover that we had to spend the better part of an hour driving to a small underground car park in a newer part of town and returning to the hotel with our luggage). Our room was pleasant but very noisy due to its proximity to the reception (the echoing sound of bags being rolled on the granite floors and noisy late night arrivals and early departures made for a poor night's sleep -- avoid Room 101). Also, we found the service and food at the restaurant not quite up to normal Parador standards. On the positive side, the hotel, itself, was attractive, close to everything worth seeing in town and the desk staff was very helpful.
Location!
Great historical location

Parking is a pain
