Quiet, lots of cabanas, lots of pools, great service. Food was just ok. The Mexican and steak house were our favorite. The Mediterranean had the best ribeye though! Smaller resort. Easy to get around. Not a lot to do. Yeimi made the best margaritas! Medium self liquor was only available for reserve. Top shelf liquor was only available for club members. No big shows like other resorts. ATM gives Dominican pesos but no one would convert. Converting required going to Meliá casino by golf cart. Tough to break down money to smaller denominations for tipping.

Hotel very nice. Everyone was attentive. I was not able to use any of my credits as I was told they were not valid as I was not a specific VIP member. Very disappointed with that. Also an all inclusive and we were being charged for certain items.

We loved our stay at the hotel. Everything was clean and everyone was super friendly. We loved the availability of multiple pools and multiple areas for getting food. The kids club was such a hit for our kids - it was the first hotel we've been at that actually had activities and things for kids to do. I would definitely recommend going here with kids.

A huge highlight was the exceptional service provided by the guest concierge, Antonio Manzueta. Antonio went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and expert recommendations made all the difference. Whether it was arranging reservations or providing local insights, he was always there to assist with a smile. Thank you, Antonio, for making my stay unforgettable! The hotel was immaculately maintained. The food was the best I’ve ever had at an all-inclusive and the staff was all very friendly but special thanks to Antonio, our personal concierge, he checked in several times a day to make sure we didn’t need ANYTHING. Also Emmanuel was the best on-site excursion coordinator! Ask for both of them, you won’t regret it!

When i brought up the VIP Platinum status, they weren't even aware of what it was. No upgrade was given. I actually ended up paying for a small upgrade myself for $75 extra per night. Don't expect a single perk here with expedia status platinum.

I noticed from the moment i arrived that there is a system where favouritism is given to clients that tip well. And although thats a system thats custom in the United States. Not everyone that visits the Dominican Republic is a US citizen. With that being said, Resort hotels need to offer a fair and open bidding system for new clients that arrive at the hotel to reserve at one of the several restaurant available. This is supposed to be a all-inclusive hotel, but if your advising clients to make reservations from 10am and everything is fully booked at 10:04am then its clear as day travellers that have been at the resort at least a day or two before have been allowed to reserve in block, which is unthical. I'm not a fan of buffets because most restaurants just replace on top of old food which can lead to sickness. The room service was cold and this was ordered on the first day and the following morning to the extent the only decent thing was the drinks. Its a shame because it was supposed to be a birthday surprise, however next time, i will hire a car and rent a villa. At least i know what im paying for.

Most of the staff is super friendly, the reserve section is worth the upgrade if you are looking for peace and quiet and a little extra attention. The property is all inclusive, but be prepared to tip… the staff appreciates it and you will never be ignored. From the beach attendants to the wait staff.

Super friendly staff, especially at the beach Bali beds. Great selection at the buffet and the specialty restaurants. Room service is a bit slow and not a wide variety of items you could order. Our room was cleaned only 2 times out of the 5 nights we were there and that’s us making it back to our room around 4pm. We stayed in the jr. suite ocean front which is obviously closest to the ocean and apparently these rooms get cleaned last because of the location. Another thing that I could have done without is the beach vendors, they are relentless, especially the ones offering photos with parrots. They basically swarm you, take photos of your kids with the bird and then try to charge you $50-$60 for it!! Pretty ridiculous! Overall, the resort was great and so was the beach. Minimum seaweed even during those days with high winds.

We returned to Paradisus Palma Real in April 2025 after a great experience in 2023. Having stayed in many North American resorts, this review reflects a seasoned perspective. 1. The food remains excellent—diverse, high quality, and consistent with our last visit. I hope they maintain this standard. 2. The resort is exceptionally clean. 3. Staff are friendly and helpful across the board. 4. The beach is beautiful. We’re not sun-lovers, so the shaded huts near the water with comfy beds were perfect for relaxing while enjoying the sea breeze and view. It’s calmer than Aruba but still lively. 5. Restaurants are a highlight—the food, design, and ambiance are top-notch. The oceanfront breakfast buffet is especially memorable, both for the food and the stunning view. 6. Nightlife has improved since 2023, with better music and dancing. My wife loved it. Be sure to reserve restaurants in advance. 7. The pools are great—our child had a blast. 8. The kids’ club is excellent. Our child enjoyed it both times. 9. The spa is available, though we didn’t use it. That said, upselling spa services doesn’t work unless there’s a clear value. What makes it better or unique? We all get spa services in our countries. Why should we get it here with higher or same price? They also have photography service which i found to be very overpriced. Overall, this resort continues to impress and deliver a great family experience.

The resort, beach, and rooms are very nice. Service at the buffet was bad. You could not find forks or knives anywhere. It is a buffet so we didn’t expect much but our food was always cold by the time we could eat it due to lack of seating and lack of eating utensils. We did go to two restaurants and they were nice. We also had some issues with very loud neighbours. We paid for an upgraded room and wound up in a room with and adjoining door to the room next to ours. We could hear them day in and day out and had to make complaints three times. The problem was never solved until these people left. I’m shocked we were put in this kind of room after paying extra and specifying that it is our honeymoon. We felt as if we had no privacy, and we were unable to sleep at night due to the neighbours partying past 5am two nights straight. It is a very pretty place but definitely not worth the money we spent especially when we paid to upgrade. It was not terrible, but we would not come here again.

The property itself was beautiful and well-maintained. The food was decent, though not exceptional. One concern we had was the lack of separation between pork and other meat products which is an issue. Additionally, because we booked through Expedia, we were given gold bracelets that actually belonged to a different resort. This caused some confusion, as staff at the bars and restaurants frequently asked whether we were staying at this resort or the Grand Canyon resort. The bracelet made us stand out in a way that felt awkward and inconvenient.

Guest experience lacking

Check in was worst ever experienced! We arrived early 2pm & were told return at 3pm. Many guests were trying to check in but very few staff who kept disappearing to the back?? We eventually got room at 4pm. After a long flight, the hotel should recognize that guests want rooms. Dinner reservations was confusing & we had to wait several times. Our bed was broken ( but usable) no one came to fix after calling every day!

Everything was wonderful. The room was beautiful, the staff was exceptional and the entire property was gorgeous. Being in The Reserve was definitely a great call, having that separation from the rest of the resort is perfect to relax. Plus you get a personal concierge in The Reserve who is available to assist in any way needed at all times, he was the sweetest and so helpful. I am very sad to leave and look forward to the opportunity to return!

Good for an all inclusive

The resort is well-maintained and overall quite nice. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful, though a few were less so—which seems to be fairly common in Punta Cana based on past experiences. The buffet offered a wide variety of options daily, which we appreciated—thankfully, it wasn’t the same food every day. However, it was noticeable that some leftover food was repurposed, so I’d recommend being selective with your choices. It would be ideal if all buffet staff wore hair nets, and if guests were required to sanitize their hands before entering. Our room had been upgraded with new bedroom furniture, which was clean and comfortable. The bathroom, however, had not been updated. The shower didn’t drain properly, the tiles were worn, and we did notice some mold. The beach was beautiful and well-kept, cleaned daily by the staff. The beach service was excellent, especially if you tip—Jefry stood out and provided amazing service! One downside was the persistent vendors approaching guests to sell items. The à la carte restaurants were decent—our favorite by far was Agave. It was a nice change of pace from dining at the buffet every day. Lastly, our concierge, Antonio, checked in with us daily and made sure we were enjoying our stay, which we really appreciated.

Hotel is beautiful and well maintained. Rooms are spacious and very luxurious. The buffet has a moderate selection and it closes multiple times a day to switch from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The best restaurant is Flora highly recommended Latin food restaurant. Don't waste your time at the Asian restsurant. There are other options open during the times the buffet is closed. Room service never got my order right but it was still delicious and the wait time was good. You can order from your mobile device. Some employees were not fluent in English so brush up on your basic Spanish. Overall it was a nice stay

He booked all our dining for the first few days, was attentive to our requests and checked in with us periodically to see if we needed anything to make our stay more enjoyable. On his days off, the service dropped off dramatically. We wer e unable to get dinner reservation at chosen restraunts and ended up booking them directly ourselves.

We are loved everything this resort had to offer. From the rooms , pools and beach being so clean and beautiful. The services of all the workers was very pleasant and pleasing for us. Everyone was extremely happy and welcoming. Breakfast and lunch buffet had so many options and it was always good. For dinner they have specialty restaurants. We didn’t care for our dinner reservations being at 8pm-9pm but I see where that could might be problems for others. But it worked out great for us. We definitely will be back.

From the moment we arrived at the property until the time we got into our car to leave days later we were surrounded by smiling, helpful, professional staff ready to assist, offer suggestions and personable communication. The property is gorgeous. The room is spacious. The views are stunning. The service was amazing. The food options at the Lunch Box was great. Dinner at Flora was by far our favorite. The only downside was having trouble making reservations at the various a la carte restaurants because whether it was 9am of 3pm our 1st and 2nd options would be fully booked.

This is a deserved plug for not just the hotel but Expedia as well. A return stay at this property found me greeted not to top flight standard I had experienced in the past and as I have previously rated! A quick complaint to Expedia had the manager in touch with me. The attention I received within minutes of the Expedia message Found me treated like a king for the rest of my stay! 5 stars !

Came here on a family vacation with two small kids, I usually don't take the time to write reviews but ALWAYS read them prior to booking all trips and picked this location off of reviews- which I am really questioning are authentic- and since we have stayed at paradisus Cancun and had a great time 1. The food was terrible- You dont expect top tier at an all inclusive but the restaurants were disappointing- italian restaurant was the only decent place- also prepare to wait past your reservation time. one night saw an older couple who walked out after waiting 1 hour and Another night saw a party of 8 who was finally told after waiting that their table of 6 was ready 2. The customer service was average- Travelled to many other locations where staff just goes above and beyond and you appreciate that on vacation- was told we had early check in only to have one of two room available at 4pm. Then our concierge said she would make our reservations but not even asking where we preferred and when asked said i'll book what restaurant has availability. I really don't think they meant bad either just not good in hospitality 3.The resort is beautiful and the beach is beautiful

This is the second time we stay in this hotel. We love it , we travel with our son less than 2 years old. I would say I love everything except some minors issues with the food , sometimes it is cold, and comparing to other hotels in PC does not have many options in terms of legumes .. we love beans specially for our son. But for sure we will be back soon.

Our stay at the Palma Real was a great stay overall. The grounds and resort are beautiful and master swim up suite was wonderful to have. However, the downfalls were that I requested several times to have adjoining rooms with our children and this was not honored. Our children stayed across the pool from us and we were told the resort was full and rooms could not be changed even though the resort seemed empty. I also had to call 6 times in 6 hours before blankets and pillows were brought to our room in order to sleep on pull out, after repeatedly told they were on their way. We had a wonderful concierge Antonio who was excellent and was able to get reservations for us for every night. Other families in our party were not this lucky and had to worry every day of where they would eat due to no reservations. We also had wonderful service from Judy and Luis at swim up bar. The Ginger bar was excellent and best bar there. Overall we had a wonderful trip with family and friends but for price of what you pay would not return to this resort.

We had a great stay, the resort is beautiful and really the only downside is getting a reservation for the restaurants is a bit difficult .Overall 5 stars and we would definitely come back ! The staff is also amazing

I was very disappointed by the VIP service - it was non-existent. Our concierge who was assigned to us was never available and didn't help with anything at all. I never received the spa credit and any of the other items promised. My room was only cleaned once and when I complained, I was called a liar. The warm food was cold most of the time and the VIP section always ran out of Coronas and barely had top shelf alcohol.

Requested Houskeeping service early yet everyday arrived at 530 pm. Per my vip status I was suppose to get $100 voucher to use at spa however they did not honor it .they only Gave-me $50 even with my document that stated $100. Butler name Ervin was excellent. Very accommodating and super efficient and nice. drinks good and buffet excellent. Italian restaurant menu should include more protein versus pasta and pizza. Overall I would return. Coffee shop was amazing

I recommend this resort for a getaway weekend or even a week vacation, staff is really nice and friendly, Antonio Manzueta helped us the entire time we were there, he is awesome. Dont go by the bad reviews this resort is super nice and clean.

Property is beautiful. Reserve rooms, pool and beach are lovely. But service is lacking. From the wrong room being booked and them trying to downgrade us into a lesser suite with no refund to getting locked out of room multiple times to a concierge who frequently was MIA and did not provide any details about our spa appointment or dinner reservations, we were extremely inconvenienced daily when all we wanted to do was relax.

The property was clean, very pretty and didn’t seem overcrowded. We enjoyed the beach and pool and the attendants were great. Most of the service in the dining areas was very good. We had a bit of a problem getting dinner reservations which was frustrating since we were only there for 3 nights, but we did get them for the last two nights. We had also requested a room with two beds for my teen/young adult children but none was available that day and even though we were told it should be available the next day, it was not. We would return.

Facility and room were very nice. The hotel rate was good for what you got given it’s all inclusive. What I did not like was being assigned a concierge that did not always deliver on requested items. Also the cleaning staff did not clean our room in our last full day.

Terrible food. Beautiful ground. In general staff doesn’t care and service isn’t great. No towels for entire morning. Hard to get a table at morning. Restaurant felt like a cafeteria.

It was impossible to make reservations at the restaurants. It felt like I was working trying to find something every day & some days I didn't get in. We did not get to experience 3 out of 5 restaurant. The explained why it was such a hassle due to whatsapp chats & not being able to book right on the spot etc. but honestly i have never experienced this level of inefficiency at any resort i have stayed at. And i travel a lot. And even though it was a nice resort, what makes me come back is feeling like everything is easy & it was not. So I probably would try another resort in Bavaro next time.

I came with my family and my brother flew with his family to celebrate my 10 years wedding anniversary. It was impossible reserve diner at one of the restaurants in the property even though I filled out the form to notify the reason for my stay. We had to pay out of pocket to dine out.

We really loved our stay at this resort! It was our second time going to an all-inclusive in Dominican. The room and facilities were all BEAUTIFUL! We booked restaurants when we arrived and didn’t have any issues booking. The restaurants were delicious, food at the main buffet wasn’t the best though. That was my only reason for not 5/5. We’re not picky eaters at all, but found most of the food at the buffet not hot and the same thing every day. Still would come back to this resort, food was not that much of a deterrent. Beach was stunning and had plenty of seating (with and without shade). We were told that the resort was full, but we still found it very quiet and peaceful. We had a delightful vacation!

I would never stay at this resort again. The customer service is horrible and the management is disrespectful. They don’t answer the phone you have to call about 4 times to get ahold of room service they don’t like to address any of your concerns and when it rains water will come into your room

Customer service and poor communication it’s a big problem at this property. You can get three different answers and all will be wrong. Do not expect to eat at one of the a la carte restaurant the first night. The personnel needs a lot of training on how to help guests. When concerns were brought to the attention of the customer service manager there was a big improvement. There were some valuable key employees such as Olga, Miguel (bukele) sports bar, Ramon at the beach (this guy is a gem) and Rosemary was excellent and professional. Ismael and Angelo at Ginger bar were very good too.

The property is beautiful and clean. The beach area is great. The pool areas are fun and clean. Room was clean and spacious with great shower and tub. Only issue was with a staff person entering the room without notice one evening and opening the safe without asking the code. Weird and scary a bit. They finally explained it was the wrong room, but very disturbing to have that happen without explanation

The property was clean and very well taken care of. The staff were amazing. They were so friendly and helpful. It was very safe and we went for a run everyday without any concerns. There were a lot of people selling things on the beach but the staff made sure they did not come onto the property so you could easily avoid them by sitting at least one row back on the beach chair/beds. We had VIP access and the check in process was a disaster. They could not find our information, we were not given a concierge which meant we could not make reservations for meals. We later went back to the desk to ask ta concierge to make the reservations but they did not follow through. Luckily it was not a busy time at the resort so we walked into the restaurants at 6:30 and were seated every time. The restaurants were amazing and the buffet food was good, nothing wonderful but it is buffet food. There were so many options at the breakfast and lunch buffet. The restaurants had QR codes on the doors to get the menu or you could go in and ask for a menu. The bars were great and the bartender, Miguel, was wonderful. We were there during the Superbowl and they had a huge TV set up outside, rearranged all the outdoor furniture, had entertainment, and a large buffet of snack food. If we go back to Punta Cana were would definitely stay here again.

When you get here be prepared to wait as I waited 3 hours for my room.. they tell you to go to the buffet and eat and yet still in the waiting area were over 10 families waiting on rooms .. the shower was clogged and every time I wanted hot water to shower I had to call so they could turn it on,I paid for an excursion over $300 from this hotel and a massage $380 from this hotel also … yet to take my wash and do my laundry was a nightmare a guy named William told me if I wanted wash done it would have to be put in 48 hours in advance … from Saturday 3:45pm until Sunday 9am my clothes were returned 4 times and finally I went to the gentleman at Expedia check in and he got my wash from my room and took it to laundry and it was done by Sunday 1:00pm but before then they insisted my wash was not going to get done… a weekend here and over $1,500 usd spent was a waste… 2 stars from ME!!
