This is a well run, tiny hotel with sweeping views of Cuzco. The staff is friendly, the room cozy and the breakfast is delicious.
I would like to highly recommend Palacio Manco Capac for anyone visiting Cusco. I cannot emphasize how great they made our stay. From the service they provided to the great hospitality they delivered to us, every day was a truly wonderful experience for us. I want to specially thank Anthony(Tonny) for going above and beyond and making us feel at home. The whole staff was beyond amazing and if you want to have a carefree stay at one of the best hotels in Cusco I highly recommend staying at Palacio Manco Capac. We will definitely be returning when we are back in Cusco next. Muchas Gracias Por Todos Palacio Manco Capac staff
Amazing view, friendly staff, cool historic rooms, quiet, and unique.
Lovely hotel with amazing view of Cusco. We stayed 2 nights to acclimatise. If you are staying and exploring Cusco you may need to get an Uber back up the hill.
Beautiful hotel. The views in the photos are even more stunning in person. They set candles out on the terrace in the evening and we enjoyed tea overlooking the Cusco lights. The breakfast buffet was out of this world. You won’t go hungry here. The restaurant is lovely. There were fresh flowers in our room at all times and the decor was very nice. It felt luxurious. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They have 3 friendly alpachas (2 babies) that live at the hotel and roam the garden and terrace. Between the luxury, location and alpachas, amazing.
Amazing property & stay
Our stay was wonderful the property is beautiful with great views and a 10/10 service. Keep in mind that it's a 10 minute walk to the plaza mayor, but it's an uphill all the way up. You can always take an Uber for like $3 usd.
The service was excellent very courteous and helpful we will recommend this hotel
The property is as beautiful as you can see in the pictures. The hotel is charming with all the decoration and fresh flowers everywhere. It's lovely to see the Alpacas running around and the view for breakfast and dinner is magical. The staff is fantastic special mention for Tonny at breakfast and Sergio for dinner. I don't write reviews in general but you can feel that everybody at this place tries to do the best for you to have a fantastic time in Cusco. Thank you!
We stayed here for 3 nights, the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Loved the views while having breakfast every morning. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The grounds here are so beautiful, with lamas and alpacas walking around. Absolutely fantastic and I would highly recommend it. We were able to walk down to the square within 10mins, be sure to ask for directions. There’s stairs that lead you directly to the square.
This Hotel is a real palace…I loved this hotel..very safe place. Beautiful view. Breakfast very good. Very professional people at lobby. Had alpacas on the grounds
Highly recommend great place to stay. Very attentive staff. Clean and friendly
Excellent!
Excellent stay here! A beautiful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
Great place!
This is an amazing property. 10 out of 10 would recommend, especially to rest and have a romantic time in Cuzco. We loved this hotel.
Amazing stay at Cusco
It was an amazing stay and I would definitely go back when we visit Cusco again. Amazing view from the restaurant, extremely clean and comfortable room. Only minutes walk to the archeology site.
Most Perfect Stay
We had one of the most amazing experience at the hotel. The staff were all very courteous and helpful. The property has an incredible view of Cusco! They had upgraded us and every process was personal. Their breakfast buffet was not only well sourced, it varied daily, with made-to-order eggs and locally sourced fruits and vegetables. Their dinner was awesome from appetizers to dessert. The room was very quiet and the property is adorned with fine art and sculpture. The shower was one of the best with proper water pressure. Fresh flowers next to the sink. Fresh water every night. Beautiful architecture. Modern amenities with old world charm. Internet worked well which was a must for us as we worked each night checking and sending emails. It was very quiet. You can ask the concierge to call a txi for you and ask what their estimated fee would be. It is walking distance to Sacsayhuaman. If you decide to walk instead of cabbing from the Plaza, the walk will definitely work off the calories. It is built on the first emperor of Inca, Manco Capac, and it is an absolute gem!
Very cozy and comfortable hotel. Service was great and always accessible. Close to the town, about a 5-10 minute or easy Uber ride.
Terrific staff and grounds
Beautiful property and friendly staff.
This was an old restored classy property with amazing views overlooking Cusco. We were able to walk through some pretty and interesting areas in about 15 minutes on the way down to the level of the main plaza. It's somewhat of a hike back up but not bad if you've just had a heavy Peruvian meal lol
Exceptional staff, they will go above and beyond to meet your needs. Very boutique, ethnic vibes regarding the property with alpacas grazing outside your window. Magnificent view in the dining area. Highly recommend!
The only place to stay in Cusco!
There is only one place to stay when in Cusco. You have great view above the city & it only a 10 minute walk downhill. We usually got a taxi for 6-15 sols or $2-5. Nice breakfast & the front desk people are incredibly helpful. You are a little bit out of town so it quite after a long day. There is only one place to stay. Beds are comfortable & the room was rather large with 2 sinks (his & hers). Black out shades to sleep in if you need it.
Close enough to plaza de armas but quiet. Marco at the reception was the highlight of our stay. Great staff !
What a hidden Gem!
What a hidden Gem, a global top 25 boutique hotel voted 2016 and #1 in South Amerika and lives up to it - we loved the welcome, the room, the meal and the breakfast and a short walk to the buzz of the centre !
We enjoyed our three nights' stay at Palacio Manco Capac very much. Every morning, we are greeted by two beautiful and adorable llamas on premise. The city views are amazing. The location is walkable to the city square below. We have the best of both worlds. The breakfast/dinning room is nice and bright. The fresh fruits are excellent. The only downside I see is that I think having a kettle in the room would be nice when we need to have a hot tea in the room before bed.
Good
Amazing
Excellent
Amazing place to stay
It was simply beautiful. The staff was incredible and went out of their way to take care of us. I love Inti and Quilla - the alpacas on site :) Breakfast was great and the view from the hotel was breathtaking. If you can, definitely stay here!
What a lovely property , boutique hotel with 20 rooms, 400 or 500 year old colonial house converted as a beautiful hotel. You can have panoramic view of Cusco. 10 min walk from Main Square, prefer to use taxi. Each room is tastefully decorated, drinking water, fresh flowers etc made our 2 night stay so special.
They treat you like family
They upgraded the room for us free of cost. Great service. Nice view from property.
Good hotel to stay. Staff is helpful. Happy to recommend.
Great service very cozy great breakfast
Lovey, historical hotel in a beautiful setting
Beautiful setting and hotel and wonderfully helpful staff! The only disadvantages are that you’re a little removed from it all, but that’s also nice. Also, our room didn’t have a tv or fridge, which was fine, but we had had a long day and just wanted to have dinner (at the hotel restaurant, which was fantastic) and retire to some tv and a cold beer. Alas, life goes on. Overall, a great place!
3 night stay at a Colonial casona
Overall, the hotel was nice, having a beautiful colonial aesthetic. However, this extended itself to a lack of modern creature comforts, such as a refrigerator or TV in the room. The location, high atop the hill called San Cristóbal, is idyllic and quiet, removed from the center of the Historic District. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk down quite steep streets. We preferred taking a taxi back up.
Beautiful hotel and great services
This beautiful hotel has great views overlooking Cusco. Staff was friendly and provided good services.
It is a unique location above the town of Cusco. Great views and peaceful. Quick walk to old downtown.
The staff was amazing, all details were tended to, beautiful, unique, quiet. The room was very comfortable with a beautiful shower/bathroom. We absolutely loved our stay and would return on our next trip. We cannot say enough about the wonderful staff. Thank you!
Wonderful hotel! Customer service is top priority for them. Beautiful grounds, great atmosphere, food was very tasty. Thank you
I highly recommend
Amazing hotel. Very accommodating and hospitable.
The property is a historical one which makes this boutique hotel quaint and charming. The alpacas add to that charm. The walk into town is downhill and wonderful. The walk back up is a bit of a hike up a steep hill but worth it. The staff are fantastic and kind, and always available to answer questions.
The view from this property is amazing. The property is beautiful and very clean. The staff were kind and attentive. Fantastic place to stay. I would highly recommend this place.
Amazing hotel, favorite place we stayed on our trip.
Amazing views, cute alpacas and massage
Super nice hotel with an amazing view of Cusco. Ask the reception to take you to the terrace viewpoint. The breakfast room has a beautiful panoramic view of Cusco. We had an amazing massage and sauna in the spa. It's about a 10 minute walk downhill to the main square of Cusco. You probably want to take a taxi back rather than walk up the steep hill. Finally, there are 2 Alpacas you can feed and take photos with.
Gem of a find!!
This place deserves all the credit it gets as all the staff work extremely hard to esure you have an amazing time while your are there. We stayed for a week over New Year and loved it!! The hotel is high above Cusco and it is a wee bit of climb getting back from the main square but the rewards after...sitting with a beer is worth it!!
Lovely spot overlooking the city. You cannot beat the view! Comfy stay. Great value for money!
Amazing
Wish we had more time to relax at this hotel; it was really lovely from decor to room to staff. We had dinner and breakfast, and although the menu is small the food was very tasty. Beautiful views of the city from cozy artsy lounge areas and well-kept gardens. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, had a heater, bottled (glass) water and rainfall shower. The property has Interesting history as well. Definitely recommend!
Beautiful property. Location and view is just stunning. Rooms and common areas luxurious and tastefully decorated. Staff very helpful and attentive. And the overall experience provides excellent value given the low cost. Highly highly recommended
This property was soo beautiful! Way more beautiful than the pictures, and it was so peaceful, and the staff was so great.
Such a unique place to stay with an amazing view of the city. Very helpful staff and charming rooms. The only downside is the steep street you must walk up from the main square to reach the hotel (taxis are readily available if you prefer not to walk).
Wonderful boutique hotel!!
Very unique stay. Staff was fantastic; will definitely recommend.
Wonderful quiet place to stay in Cusco. The staff is excellent. The grounds are nice & the dinner we had was excellent & below what you would pay in Cusco for dinner (pleasant surprise). It’s uphill from the main plaza so it feels like a bit of a walk. Back up to the hotel. But - it’s worth it.
The best hotel ever! Our stay was 5 days the only I would say is excellent, perfectly clean, personalized customer service, perfect infrastructure, amazing decoration and infrastructure, friendly… very good breakfast..highly recommend .. no doubt that we and our family will back, thank you Hotel Palacio Manco Capac, AnaSofia y Raul
The location
Location and view of the city was amazing, friendly staff!
Excelente service
Very nice staff. They checked us in at 6:00 AM! A historic place on top of the hill. Walking up from the city center is difficault, but $3 taxi ride well worth it.
Staff attention. Quality of rooms. Quiet location yet not far from downtown
A must see
I cannot imagine any better place to stay in Cusco. This property is a historic colonial casona that is modernized, while keeping its incredible ambiance. It sits above the plaza de armas behind the plaza of the iglesia San Cristobal. There is a forested garden in front of the hotel on property with an incredible view of the central plaza of Cusco and the sacred valley below. The room was astonishing.
This hotel was wonderful! The room was comfortable and the staff was incredibly friendly, one of the staff members even packed us a lunch for our trip to Machu Picchu.
Beautiful architecture and beautiful location comfy beds
Lovely stay
The hotel has amazing Cusco view with friendly staff. Breakfast was really good not many options but delicious food. Unfortunately we had to stay only one night but next time will be first choice in Cusco.
Views, breakfast, location were excellent. Amenities and quality of the room were not of 5 star standards.
OMG - Wonderful hotel and views
Amazing hotel perched high above Cusco. Great views of the city. Hotel was clean, classy, very comfortable, and staff were very helpful. The hotel is well maintained and a pleasure to stroll around. If you are in good physical condition, the walk up to the hotel is not all that challenging. Otherwise splurge $2 on cab fare.
We arrived after 4 day hike on the the Inca Trail, checked in, staff upgraded our room, took our bags, and got us to our room Promptly. Amazing view for breakfast and the best customer service we have experienced on our trip to Peru! Highly recommend for the cost and quality!
Palacio Manco Capac Review
Palacio Manco Capac was our first hotel during our first to Peru. We couldn't have picked a better first place! They offered us coca tea and explained the amenities as well as some things to do around the city. They got us checked in much earlier than expected, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comforable. Would HIGHLY recommend this hotel!
It's a great location, and interesting decor. The drinking water, is filtered tap water, so it taste like tap water. I booked through expedia but the property receives my booking through despegar.com at a lesser rate that doesn't even show what the guest paid. The hotel employees says it is the guests responsibility to treat that when we have no connection to despegar.com. So truly expedia, despegar and the property should get their story straight. Also there's an "additional" property hotel tax thats not included in the price which is kind of ridiculous and you feel being cheated.
Cute hotel and location. Perfectly fit for Cusco and the environment. Clean, friendly staff and breakfast included!
Stunning views and very attentive staff. Beautiful setting
The staff were wonderful when we arrived and helped us get settled in. There were no bath robes even though that was in room description. Accommodation for us was a separate building that was a quiet room overlooking Cusco. The breakfast was delicious with a wide selection of fruit, cheese, meat, cereal, cake and fresh juice. There was option to have a la carte eggs, omelette, crepes or pancakes. We did have trouble after the bathroom mirror randomly fell off the wall and knocked over a glass water carafe that shattered on the tile floor and we spent an hour picking up small pieces of glass afterwards, since staff didn’t clean up thoroughly. The next day mirror was still not put back up and we had to call front desk to have it re hung. To add insult to injury, when trying to check out they tried to charge me 10$ US for the broken bottle. Customer service related to problems while staying there, needs improvement. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay there.
Fantastic place to stay
Great hotel with fantastic views over Old town of Cusco. Hard to find as our cab driver didn’t know it and signage from main road needs improvement- we spent almost an hour wandering around the neighbourhood at 9 pm dodging stray dogs looking for the entrance - a simple sign with an arrow pointing towards this great place is all that’s needed
Excellent and historic hotel I will come back soon!!! Great staff, location, view and excellent organic food!!! Love it
Very clean & nicely decorated room, huge shower and separate bathroom. Edwin at reception was very kind and helped with all we needed
Love the coziness of everything. Staff was personable and super helpful. Would definitely visit again and recommend to family and friends.
Consistently amazing!
This was our second visit to the Palacio and I don’t think I could have picked a better place to relax after completing the 4 day trek to Machu Picchu. Dirty and tired from the trail, we were comforted by a huge soft bed, extra towels and our bags already waiting in our room upon arrival. Amazing service! This is the only place to stay in Cusco.
The best hotel in Cusco!
Such a beautiful location! Historic with modern comfort and an amazing view of the city.
As our own transport arrangement from train station was so poor, I was not in a good mode at the check in time. So I was not in a good situation to evaluate the hotel But as a late night meeting check-in, and care for angry customer , they have done a professional job for welcoming us. I want to say thanks to them.
Beautiful hotel with a great view
Wonderful property night up with a beautiful view. Rooms are small but bathrooms are nice and updated. The only thing is if you are staying with kids they charge $60 US even if they don't use anything extra which we felt was very high.
The hotel is beautifully decorated and has an amazing view of cusco. The rooms are spacious and clean. The daily breakfast is delicious. Lastly the staff are incredible and go out of their way to make your stay great!
Our room safe didn’t work, had to get them to come fix it. Then didn’t feel comfortable using it as the receptionist has a master key and now knows we were planing to keep things in the safe. Secondly the heater in our room was broken so they had to give us a portable heater. It felt like they controlled the heat on their end to save money. The internet was also turtle speed we couldn’t even book any tours on the computer had to use our data on cell phone. The staff wasn’t friendly. Amenities in bathroom was just shampoo/body wash and 2 in 1 shampoo conditioner combo they had a blow dryer. No face cloths. Room gets really cold they don’t even provide slippers or robe. Towels have seen their last life. Coffee at breakfast both days was sludge thick at the end of the pot both days. Since they don’t have many rooms less than 20 breakfast should be by order instead of sitting out for hours.
Amazing hotel and experience. 10/10
Best staff and location, so close to the main square. The staff went out of there way for us and looked after us. Beautiful views and the lama in the morning was a pleasant surprise on my way to brekky. Thank you for a amazing stay.
Great hotel if you want to get away from the city. It’s a bit understaffed. Mostly no one in reception when you need it. Food is good but very expensive. Rooms are very nice but very cold. The heating system dorsn’t work properly.
Very beautiful, quaint hotel! Very friendly staff including Edwin! It is about 10 min walk to plaza del armas but down and uphill. Really loved sweeping views of the city. Amazing breakfast definitely would stay again!
Authentic hotel
Very authentic place and hotel of village vintage type at half way top of moutain. Lobby and rooms are in different buildings. Arrived around 11.39 am and had a smooth check in. The view of the city is gorgeoys from the hotel grounds. Good shower with a very good water pressure. Mattress is okay, not too soft and not too hard. The only drawback is that it's a bit remote area from the city center. At this high altitude walking up mountain to the hotel is very-very hard. At night street leading to the hotel doesn't look very friendly. Alleway leading to the hotel was so dark that i had to use flash light on my phone to find my way in. Why hotel turns off the lighs at its ground alleyway at night i do not know. After that i was using Uber 3 times from the city center.
The location is on a hill, overlooking Quito, and it is about a 10-15 minute walk downhill to the center of the city and Plaza de Armas. The area views are excellent. The hotel is very small, about maybe 10-15 rooms, thus it is considered a boutique hotel. It was cited one of the top 25 boutique hotels in the world in 2016. It is a historical property and is in excellent condition. The breakfast is included and was fantastic. There are also 2 llamas on the property that are very friendly. The property also is adjacent to an Incan historical area known as Sacsayhuaman. Very cool. Would highly recommend this property.
This place has a beautiful view of Cusco. Breakfast is good. The rooms are spacious , beds comfortable and are nice enough in a classic kind of way. Be warned it is a bit if a hike uphill to get here so coming and going from the city will be a little exercise. There aren't many amenities beyond the restaurant and nice grounds .. think of this place more as a get away at the end of the day ...
Lovely
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The breakfast was delicious, the staff friendly, the room was comfortable. It is a bit removed from the historical center but that was nice because it was quieter.
Hotel was very unique and kept a lot of the original features. View from the restaurant was amazing as it overlooked Cusco. Location was perfect as it was in the quieter part of town. However taxis and tour companies did find it difficult to locate.
We booked three rooms and were given room #s 6.7 and 19. There was no hot water in rooms 6 & 7. disappointing and the food bill was very costly comparable to what we had at other places in the town. Not booking or referring friends to this hotel. Thank you.
Was a great experience. The hotel is beautiful and great to rest and sleep.
Awesome stay!
This was probably one of the most amazing hotels we stayed in! Service is great (although some of the receptionists need to practice more english) and breakfast was awesome! Beds are very comfy and bathrooms luxurious. Loved our stay here. The only bump was that the taxi driver we ordered and paid at the hotel wanted to charge us double but we were smarter than that.
Our experience
It's a lovely hotel built on a historical site and the staff does a great job of making one feel welcome. However, in comparisons to other Cusco hotels, it's was seriously understaffed and created experiences not aligned with a high-end hotel. The hotel seemed to be well below capacity and perhaps these are efforts by management to control costs at the risk of providing a less than the expected experience for a 4+ star hotel.
Great view of Cusco - Very good breakfast -Very good staff
Beautiful grounds and great view of the city. The rooms are very clean.
Clean and Comfort room. Great breakfast. But a bit far from main square (need to climb up for 7-10mins walk .
Fabulous boutique hotel. Renovated interiors in a historic old hacienda estate. Wonderful view of city. Interesting colonial art collection. Great lounge for guests. At top of hill that requires a slow climb at altitude. Take it slowly or use a cab. Loved this place. Recommended
Beautiful, Historic Hotel
I had amazing stay in this beautiful historic hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I had wonderful meal for dinner and everything is fresh for breakfast. The view from the restaurant and from my room is amazing. The soundtrack of birds singing was just give some peace during my stay.
