Modern, Old World Charm

This was an extraordinary place to stay! The location is perfect, the people were great, the breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this place anyone.

The hotel was good but the air conditioning makes a noise the first night that beverly asleep. Also the towel holder was broken and pulling the tile out of the shower. They changed our room the next day but besides that we have a great time. I recommend this place.

Onix Rambla Hotel has a very good location close to many restaurants, supermarkets and shops. The lobby and hotel design look good, but the rooms seemed aged. The air conditioning did not work well the room was very hot. They have a mini fridge that didn't work properly either. The breakfast was fine.

Onix Rambla is a great hotel, the rooms are great. Pool facilities are good, it’s a shame they close at 8pm tho for a hotel in the middle of a big city when it’s so hot, I would say this is the hotels only down fall. The staff were so attentive and were always there to help and advise. The views around the hotel and the location literally couldn’t be any better. Taxi stop right outside and so many restaurants and cocktail bars. Great stay! Recommend!

Property was a good area but the room was very small and pokey and barely a window. Just had no vibe if that's what you are after but if just a bed it's fine. Bar/pool area was dead, expected a bit more vibe but thats fine.

Nice stay

We enjoyed our stay at onix rambla. Friendly staff, clean rooms. We never got up early enough to try the breakfast unfortunately so no feedback on that. Nice lounge area on the terrace, small pool. It is right on the road, however, and Barcelona never sleeps so do take that into consideration, but my 4 year old mostly slept through the street noise. Only other complaint is the bathroom was sometimes randomly stinky, which is par for the course in Barcelona but otherwise, we had a nice experience.

The only thing we didn’t like is the breakfast.

The hotel is located in a great area, lots of eating and shopping options near the hotel. Staff was friendly and the room was very comfortable. We had a balcony room with street view but we didn't hear any street noises, which was great!

Good value for money for a three star hotel in a convenient location. Loved the bedroom balcony overlooking the street and seeing the city of Barcelona waking up and people watching. The staff here are welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had planned to use the pool area but sadly there were some builders working nearby. Used the breakfast area on our last morning and enjoyed a good selection of breakfast items. Breakfast room was bright, clean and pleasant to eat in. No English channels were available on our TV which was a shame as we like to catch up with the news first thing in the morning. All in all a good trip and stay at The Onix Rambla in Barcelona.

Location

This hotel is in a great location- just a short walk to the main shopping areas and La Ramblas. Rooms are basic but clean, and a good choice of food at breakfast.

Big space in the room, very clean and quiet good breakfast…. No complentary though, free flowing coffee from 12pm to 11pm.

Great location but old, average and over priced

Great location close to Plaza de Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Hotel facility itselt is old and room interior is outdated, some of the lights were out, bathroom shower water leaks, sewage smell from the bathroom. Breakfast is very basic and same everyday not worth 11 euros. Overall, out stay was ok but felt it was over priced (330 euros/night).

Vey good location, walkable distance to many tourist places. The shower head for the bathtub would need to be fixed as water gets out to the floor so easily.

Our stay was good. it was quiet, clean, and convenient for walking or taking transit.

Aside from lots of noise at night having a room facing the front on the 3rd floor all was great. The AC didnt operate so we opened the doors to the balcony. The front desk two ladies were so friendly and always welcoming us whenever they saw us. Maybe get a channel or two in english other than news:)

Room can hear street music, luckily it stopped at 11pm.

Location,location,location!!! Hotel rooms are ample and comfortable. Bathroom impecable. But don’t look for any luxe. Breakfast acceptable.

Brilliant location and great little hotel with friendly staff

The staff were very friendly , attentive and offered unsolicited advice on safety. The hotel ambiance was basic but met our needs for overnight stay. We would stay again . A group of 4. I was unhappy that I was charged for insurance protection that was not requested and when I wrote in for it to be reversed I kept being turned around. I have not received my credit todate.

Hotel is extremely clean and in an excellent location in the centre of Barcelona

Very basic hotel, however super clean, super central location and over all very good value for such a central property.

Nice and clean and roomy.

Basic hotel that has most things you need, but could really do with having a kettle in the room as the coffee machine downstairs doesnt seem to be fully functional. The pool is quite small, just for dipping but not really for swimming. Some of the front desk staff was super helpful and nice, others just average. Great location though, close to everything including metro stations.

It would have been great if there was a chance to make coffee or tea in the rooms. Coffee in the morning is a big problem

Basic 3 star hotel. Couldn’t really expect more.

The entire hotel was hot. our room air conditioner did not cool the room that well. had to run the air all day while out of room which was not eco friendly. the gym was so hot could not work out. no breakfast just coffee provided for free. little refrigerator for mini bar was our only option to keep our own water bottles and fruit cool and eventhough did't take water or soda from it, the maid service had said we did. i had to argue with front desk which was dissapointing.

Great location, clean, good breakfast for 9 euros. There was only 6 sun loungers in the pool area, so a few more would be better, or stacking chairs to sit in.

Onix Rambla Hotel

No complaints

We loved the location and the party atmosphere at night on Rambla. It was withing walking distance of the Gothic Cathedral and park, plus we only had to cross into the middle of the street to enjoy a drink and to dine. The room was spotless and well maintained and service was excellent.

Very convenience, friendly staff. We booked this hotel one reason is air condition but no air condition now only ventilation.

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. Marc from the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. Providing great customer service to us while we were there. Recommended us places to eat or where to go so we had a blast. The location is perfect for tourist as it is close to everything.

All we needed.

Great stay, located handy and within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. A little noisy outside but not enough to keep us awake all night. Getting in and out of bath to shower a little cramped with bidet in the way. Everything very clean. Pool great to have on hot afternoons. Morning staff friendly and helpful, able to check in early. A little expensive as quite basic.

Everything was going well and I can understand why the hotel has such a high review. The hotel is in a great location and very cheap in comparison to hotels around. However, on our last night there was a huge storm at around 3am causing water to come in through our balcony and light fittings. It was very loud, which woke us up, so we went and told the staff straight away. This is when things finally started to fall apart, we were instantly answered with 'The hotel is full' and basically needed to persuade the staff member to come up to the room. Once there he gave us lots of towels and spent the next 30 minutes taking videos and photos to show the manager. Then just left. We needed to leave for our flight at 7am so we needed to get some sleep, moved all our luggage off the floors and put a lot of towels down. We woke up early to check out and once we told the staff member our room number they just replied "Oh good, we need to go and check the damage. Please pay €1.50 for the water you took from the mini bar". Obviously we know that the storm was not the hotels fault but just a simple recognition of what a massive inconvenience it was would have saved the Onix hotel this negative review. I don't even have high expectations, I'm pretty laid back and just would get on with it. But I believe scenarios like these and how you are treated, is what makes hotels stand out from the rest.

Was not comfortable.

There were a cockroach and 2 big flies. Breakfast was not poor, and not delicious.

Price for the hotel is not its worth.

No air conditioning in the room. Very hot. Some staff are helpful but not all. The good thing about the hotel is its location which is in the centre of the tourist area.

Centrally located good hotel

The hotel is located very close to Plaza Catalunya. It is very central and convinient. WIhtink walking distance to many attractions in Barcelona. Breakfast was good and the service was friendly and helpful.

Barcelona hotel

Bed spread did not seem clean but otherwise cleanliness of room and property was ok. Large room could use and had room for 1 or 2 chairs for relaxing. Walls are bare and in a city of art it seems a bit odd and boring. Breakfast is adequate. Overall good, quiet and well located hotel. I would stay there again and recommend you do as well.

Excellent Hotel near La Rambla

Excellent Hotel, with very easy transport connections (transfer from/to the airport as well) or just walking in the gothic area.

Well situated and clean hotel. Breakfast is nice and at a reasonable price. Some additional client attention would be appropriate e.g. the hotel does not provide for toothpaste, nor emergency shaving kit or paper tissues. Rooms are ample, but lack some decorative touch.

Nice & quiet hotel, close to Pl Catalunya

The hotel is clean, quiet, close to P Catalunya. We had the DND sign on the door between 14:00 - 16:00, at about 15:00 the staff called asking if we want to clean the room now, ignoring that sign on the door. In general they clean the room in the afternoon not in the morning.

Barcelona hotel

Great central location, easy access to underground and to aerobus to travel to the airport. Expensive hotel, but comfortable and clean. If you need an iron - you need to request it at the front desk and then collect it - it's not brought to your room, which is slightly inconvenient. Didn't eat there - but there's a great tapas place very close by!

Great customer service all staff was wonderful, accomodating, and even helped us plan our short stay in Barcelona , being able to hold our belongings prior to check in was a plus. Only thing that can think about for facility to have is to have cell phone US charger , otherwise still a a great hotel to stay, in center of all tourists spots. Mom and I are rally appreciative of all the wonderful staff, and plan to stay again when we go back to Barcelona.

Great location, small rooms, breakfast not great

Room for three was booked which had a balcony but was not told when booking that these triple rooms were only available at the back of the hotel. Rooms were cold and asked staff if the heating could be turned on but a curt 'no' from the reception. Breakfast not great, bread, meat, sausage, scramble egg, ommlette slices and juices, plus cereal. However, hotel itself is in an excellent location with a stroll to Ramblas and Casa Mila. Would recommend staying here but eat out! No bar or anywhere to relax other than your room. Room service excellent as towels changed every day and beds made...thanks to the maids for that!

Great value

Walked there;rounded corner to see lovely 5* hotel;ONIX was just next door. Staff were friendly,efficient,helpful.Whole place was spotless and sparkling. Everything worked, room very comfortable, very good value IMO. Could walk to many places of interest from there, and a taxi stand 30 m away.

Great location

The Onyx is located in a great area without being in the middle of the chaotic Rambla. The hotel room was clean and well appointed. The breakfast was very good.

Disappointing

The hotel was minimum. Good: breakfast was okay, location is great. Super tapa place right at end of street. Easy to get a taxi. Bad: no washcloths, pillows were old and flat, bed was too low as were the mattresses. My husband NEVER complains about a mattress...he brought it up. TV hard to figure out. We had to get house keeping to show us and she had problems. The heating system(fan)was loud and we had to turn it off at night. By morning it was cold, and I had kept it on all day so it would heat up. I have issues w/ sounds at night. This one sounded like an old car's motor running. I thought maybe we could change rooms, but the man said it was just the heating system and the same. Room 509..don't get it.

Perfect. Great value for what we paid

Very nice hotel. Centrally located. Very clean, modern room. Paid for city view which was worth it! Opted for breakfast which was very good. Temporary parking outside to drop off bags etc. No complaints!

Lovely quiet hotel

We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel. It was very quiet. Room was very clean and bathroom was superb with plenty of space.

The perfect hotel if the heart of Barcelona

Great front desk staff, specially Jorge. Very clean room/washroom. We were on the 3rd floor and the shower had great water pressure. Hot water was "hot" the air conditioner worked perfectly.

Nice hotel near Rambla

Very clean hotel. Great staff. Bathroom layout a bit awkward, due to bidet placement. Tip, it's Europe, so bring your own wash cloth- or deal with it. Roof top pool is small, but nice. Pool deck in need of total replacement. Breakfast room and terrace top notch for a reasonable price.
