Wonderful stay at this gorgeous property. Lovely hosts Andi and David, breakfast is huge and varied and the fruits from their own property are so delicious. The restaurant at Oliver’s had amazing offerings and a great atmosphere. Fab little town well worth an overnight stop. The gardens are beautiful
Situated right in the centre of Clyde, but really quiet and easy walking to everything in Clyde. Staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful so made everything easy. The dinner in the restaurant was excellent, along with breakfast in the morning. A very pleasant stay.
Lovely Find
What a lovely day in a superbly appointed English cottage. David and Andy pay attention to every detail. Service was friendly and with a smile, the breakfast was pay attention
great sleep
Super deep bath and made a for a perfect nights sleep, great nights stay as per normal
Delightful accommodation, beautiful breakfast, very homely. Brilliant hosts!!
Loved the room and the owners Andy and David wede awesome, and eeblibed the fire in the guest living room to unwind. Street parking was first come first served, but there seemed to be enough. The address on Experida as well as the phofo are infact the restaurant and bar. The entry in on the street behind.
Very good
Lovely hosts, will be back
Nice place to sit and relax. Central to what we were doing. Nice and quiet
I love the old stables, the style in which the whole place has been retained and enhanced. The outdoor seating was an afternoon delight with a book and refreshments.
What a quaint place clyde is and an idyllic and restful place to stay. Loved the garden setting
Great experience
Great accomodation
Friendly hosts, tastefully decorated and re-modeled original buildings with old world charm.
Rooms very clean but very small - the gorgeous outdoor garden area and amazing breakfast made up for this!
Amazing history of this site old buildings plus wonderful cozy comfortable rooms.
The interior of the accommodation was put together with love and precision and exquisite style. It is unique, but comfy and homely and a very relaxed atmosphere. The owners are charming and extremely warm and helpful. They serve an excellent breakfast in the dining room where there is chit chat and laughter amongst cyclists and travellers. Just loved our stay.
Fabulous old building with such character. Great ambience and delightful hosts
Very Quaint. Beautiful room. Excellent Service. Breakfast was Amazing. Staff went aboove and beyond. Thanks James and David.
The accommodation was excellent. Our room was beautiful. However part of the reason for staying was the restaurant for dinner. It may have been we ordered the wrong dishes but they were confusing and disappointing. I ordered lamb 3 ways as the main. It came as lamb rumb which was tough, lamb as mince which would by best served as breakfast on toast and a lamb sausage roll which you would expect in a bakery for lunch. All served with a pea risotto? As I said very strange and didn’t work for me.
Beautiful, historic property
Had a wonderful night at Olivers. Beautiful, impeccably restored historic property in the lovely town of Clyde. Super comfy room and bed, spotlessly clean. Restaurant and brewery attached, so all your dining needs are taken care of and delicious breakfast the next morning. Would definitely return and would go out of my way to stay here. Was lucky enough to be up early for the best, most colourful sunrise ever, but even if you don’t get that light the central Otago landscape you’re surrounded by is the absolute best of New Zealand.
Lovely place, beautiful breakfast, wonderful hosts
Room was comfortable, breakfast was outstanding, hosts delightful. A wonderful stay, we would come back again.
A magical stay in a great little town!
A wonderful place to stay. Very welcoming people, quirky but delightful room, and a great breakfast. I can’t wait to go back. You really should visit Clyde, and you really should stay at Oliver’s!
Beautiful unique property very special place to stay and an excellent breakfast
While the accommodation in terms of decor and setting is absolutely beautiful, we didn’t always feel overly welcomed by the hostess.
Charming converted house and stables in pretty garden, modern ensuite bathrooms, friendly and very helpful proprietors, very good breakfast included, excellent restaurant, bar and cafe adjoining.
Great service and centrally located. We really enjoyed our short stay.
Great place to stay for special occasions. Will definitely be back.
Hospitable hosts, very comfortable, close to restaurants and delicious breakfast. Will stay there again
A fantastic place, centrally located in the village. Stayed in the stables with rustic charm and off a quiet garden. Lovely hosts who were attentive to any requests.
Charming accommodation in a lovely village
This is a somewhat difficult review to write as Oliver's is a well run establishment with a very helpful and friendly proprietor who did everything he could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. A very high quality breakfast was provided with David serving his speciality baked eggs to order. The next door restaurant was superb and we had a lovely dinner there with good wine. The problem that we had was with the size of the room which was a converted horse box and really tiny. With a king sized bed taking up almost all the space there was no chest of drawers or wardrobe for doing any meaningful unpacking and the prefabricated en-suite shower unit was tiny. It is also worth noting that there is no television in the room which some might claim is okay for a 'getting away from the rat race' type of stay. However, for those of us that like to relax on the bed in front of the cricket after a day behind the wheel, it would be useful to know in advance that this will not be possible. If a small room does not worry you, then this is a lovely place to stay in Clyde.
Great place to stay, great service and very comfortable
Character hotel with beautiful garden setting and delightful and thoughtful hosts .
Wonderful historic dwelling makes Otago proud had a fantastic meal at the restaurant preserve it it’s great
Staying at Olivers was a treat long delayed. We were made very welcome, brilliantly looked after in a beautiful facility. Hope to return in the not too distant future.
very comfortable in a group of historic buildings.Decor and furnishings tastefully complement the situation.Excellent breakfast.Suggestions : adjustable light for reading in bed and a folding chair in the limited stable space.
Lovely boutique hotel in a quaint provincial town
We stayed for 2 nights in the Smoke House room, before and after a day riding on the Otago rail trail. David and Andrea made us very welcome. The room was very comfortable and warm; and the owner's other adjacent businesses ( cafe, restaurant and bar) make for an very easy stay. Breakfast was a lovely selection of homemade fayre and proper tea pots, cups and saucers. Would definitely stay her again is staying in the area and would recommend to family and friends
Beautiful
Beautifully presented and full of such rustic character, the rooms are all unique. This time we stayed in the Tack room, whilst small in size it was all we needed in our short stay. Clyde is a pretty wee town, it is lovely to walk around, we walked over the historical bridge linking Clyde to the orchards of Earnscleugh and also walked up to the Clyde Dam Lookout to view the power of the water.
Thanks David ,done amazing job
It was a very lovery hotel. Great hospitality and very comfortable.
Utrolig koselig og sjarmerende sted med historisk særpreg. Koselig å kunne sitte ute i hagen å slappe av.
