The propery was clean and felt very safe. The staff, especially our butler Jose were very helpful and attended to all our needs. The swim-up suite was great with good features and space.

The housekeeping service did not replenish towels during my stay. They would take hand and face towel but did not replenish daily. Also, cleaning should be complete earlier in the day.
My family and I had so much fun at this resort! The staff, especially Marielys, Miguel and Stephany were amazing. They were extremely entertaining and engaging. The bartender, Ricardo (aka tío Ricky as we call him) was so funny and fun to be around. We were so sad to leave and would definitely return.
Nice narrow property! Had all the amenities we wanted. First family trip and kids had a lot of fun on lazy River (bring your own tubes and bring a mini electric air pump). My 6 and 12 yr old went to daisy club and really enjoyed it. 6 yr old asked to go the next morning. Entertainment staff were good about keeping everyone engaged. The pool chair game is real! We had 6 people and saved 4 chairs knowing we all wouldn’t be sitting in them all day and another day we just put our stuff on one chair as we knew we all would be in the pool all day. It’s infuriating when guests save all these chairs and don’t use them. Be prepared to set your alarm for 7:45 to put your towels out. Unlike other posts I read I felt the beach wasn’t as rocky as others posted. We couldn’t swim but we jumped the waves almost everyday -our family loved it. I would compare to the beach of puerto Vallarta-not the pristine color nor nice sand of cancun. It was part of my families first time out of the country -this was perfect 1st experience for them. Easy airport, transportation sticking to the directions in the email. The resort was on the smaller side-we didn’t have issues getting into all the restaurants in the 5 nights we were there via the app. Went in at 7:55am to see Availability. Twice we weren’t able to get in until 8 and 830 but that was ok we just ate a late afternoon burger/fries and actually it made getting to the evening shows easier for the littles. We felt very safe.
The beach area needs more attention, too many rocks in the beach area, needs improvement.

The property was generally adequate for our stay, though it didn’t meet the expectations of a 5-star experience. One issue we encountered was our suite bathroom—it lacked a fan or any form of ventilation, which caused the room to feel damp and led to an unpleasant smell. Additionally, the beach itself has a rocky entry, which can make it difficult and painful to find your footing when hit by waves. In terms of staff and service, it was a mixed experience. We encountered some team members who were incredibly friendly and helpful, but others were not, which affected the consistency of our stay. If you’re planning to enjoy the lazy river, be aware that the resort has a limited number of tubes available. Considering bringing your own or you will likely need to purchase one at the gift shop for $15 USD, as the few available tubes are often in high demand and can be monopolized by guests for extended periods. We didn’t have high expectations for the food, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet our basic standards. The quality left much to be desired, and we were disappointed by the lack of flavor. We wish there were more snack takeaway options, particularly for enjoying snacks on the beach. While there were some positives during our visit, there were several aspects of the property and service that could be improved for a more consistent, enjoyable experience and why we are rating this average.
We had a great time during our November stay at Ocean El Faro! The property is well maintained, there are several pools at the hotel offering guests to an option to choose between entertainment and quiet pool time. Service was great, everyone made sure we had a pleasant time. A big thank you to Johanser for helping us with dinner reservations throughout our stay - he’s been very quick to respond and made our stay even more convenient. The rooms were very clean and spacious. They were a little musty, which is the only constructive feedback we have. Overall a great trip!
Our stay was nice! The rooms aren’t like the pictures. They look pretty tired, but other than that the resort is beautiful!!
Resort was average. The property spelt like mold in the common areas and rooms. Food was very low Quality, no snacks or food in pool area resulting in having to take long walks to buffet or one burger stand. Bars don’t open until 10am. Towel service and pool didn’t open until 9am and would close at 6pm, very limited. Beach is very rocky, you could barely take a swim without hitting rocks.
Check-in slow, and we were not greeted with a welcome drink. The rooms are dated and had a strong mold smell. There was no cable working in both of my rooms throughout our 9-day stay, despite calling guest services at least 4 times. There isn’t an ice machine, so you have to call room service to get a bucket of ice. Maid service: If you want coffee and toiletries restocked, you have to ask. Do not put anything in the wardrobes, or they will end up smelling like mold! On the weekends the buffet is extra busy and food is scarce. There is no AC in the regular buffet seating area. Bars and restrooms are scarce. The arcade and pool tables are pay-to-use. Food in the restaurant wasn’t the greatest. Would only recommend the Japanese and Steakhouse. Don’t use the spa services! They quoted me $75 for a facial and 30 min massage; at checkout they charged us $350. We were unable to address the overcharge at check out because the bellboy never showed up to pick up our luggage and WE had to literally run our bags from our rooms to catch the shuttle driver to the airport. I was a huge fan of this resort chain, but I now realize there is a huge difference between being a regular guest and paying an extra $1,500 for privileged services. Will not be staying at an H10 resort ever again
Property and dining are great, but there is some improvement needs to be concerned as follow, 1. Need more watering or shower at the beach, so u can clear up all the sand before going back to the property 2. The coffee shop is excellent both in quality and variety but this is the one and only one in this beautiful resort, should consider to set up more for all of us.
Amazing experience
Would not recommend this resort to anyone, the property is very under-staff and the little staff that they do have need to take lessons in customer service. During the day you can only get burgers and fries to eat. The property has one buffet that is always over crowded and the tables are always dirty with filthy silverwares. When ordering drinks, be prepared to wait over 25mins for one drink at the pool and the sports bar. The rooms were also not sanitary, the bathroom was filled with roaches.

The keys didn’t work. The app is set to the wrong reservations. As a result, can’t use the app. There were no towels at the beach yesterday. No one is helping. Can’t really use the butler. Can’t make reservations as app is set for wrong room. We have 2 privilege rooms and are here for 2 weeks so this will be a nightmare. DO BETTER! And pls fix all the issues.
Group of 11 just came home from here, we all loved it would go back in a heartbeat. Super friendly staff and the food was also amazing. The staff work so hard, always smiling and always willing to help you. Can’t wait to come back to Ocean El faro. Thanks to all the staff for an amazing stay.
We had a wonderful time and never felt there was something missing. The staff were all wonderful and went out of their way. Johanser went out of his way to make my husbands birthday special by having a cake delivered to the restaurant and to our room! It was perfect.

This was my first stay at an all inclusive resort so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The facility was nice. We ate at the buffet most of the time. There were no other options for breakfast besides a coffee bar with bakery goods. We were there for our grandson’s wedding. That was done very nicely. Overall, I didn’t feel there were many activities for older guests, but great for young families. We probably wouldn’t stay there again.

My wife and our 10 months daughter stayed at this resort for 7 days and we had a blast. Great service from the staff. I wanted to personally thank Johanser who helped us with the restaurant reservations and any other questions we had . Also wanted to thank , Omar, Leonela and Danny who prepared great cocktails at the times with a great smile . Looking forward to go back .
Arrived met concierge went to my room it was not clean floors were filthy no drinks or water frig was off turned it on never really got cold door to the shower didnt close water got all over the floor outside of shower room had 2 double sinks when you used the sink water came flowing out from the back bottom of the wall flooding bathroom jetted tub was constantly dripping water the beds were made and very comfortable view from the nice balcony overlooked a pool toilet room had a handle to open door only on the outside was very small,i texted on whats app my concierge and told him all the problems and on the 5 day he sent me a text that someone was coming to my room immediately so i had to leave the pool and go to my room in 2 minutes a man came and took photos of all the problems and said someone will be here in 5 minutes to fix everything i waited a half an hour texted the concierge and said im leaving tomorrow and im not going to spend my last day in my room so fix it all when i leave in the morning and he said i undetstand and i just wanted you to feel secure that did it for me dont get me rong the place is huge and beautiful but the female staff everywhere were very misserable and rude never smiled but the gentlemen were always smilingly and willing to do anything for you 5 other people said the same thing to us about the staff i guess you cant have it all restaurants food was not traditional at all buffet became my best friend Renee A.
Our vacation started with stuff who forced us to go to 1 hr “presentation” (first they said it’s gonna be a complimentary breakfast) that we didn’t want to, they try to make old scam by buying property there, after completing a complaint form nobody ever contacted us back. They also insisted on upgrading our room to premium. They also chose a beach area with constant big waves that makes it impossible to swim (it’s like that all the time). Stuff in the restaurant was rude. Food is average. The only good thing are cats that they have. Never will be back!

We celebrated my friend's 50th birthday at Oceans El Faro. The property is spectacular and we were given special butler service by the room division manager. They made sure that we received extra special service/attention for the birthday, made dinner reservations, etc. This was a great experience!

We upgraded to Privilege and it was worth it. Better food at the Privilege Lounge for lunch and dinner. Steakhouse was good for dinner. All other restaurants were mediocre. Deiby, our butler was excellent!!! Marckendy waited on us at the beach and was great!!! Jhon and Justina were awesome at the pool bar! The lobby bar and piano bar make the best high-end cocktails. If you upgrade to Privilege, take advantage of the hydrotherapy at the spa. You can do it everyday as part of your package. Mike’s coffee spot is a really nice touch for gourmet coffee drinks in the morning or after dinner.
The hotel opened during covid (so it’s only 3-4 years old), however; it looks like it was built in the 1900s. It’s very run-down and not well maintained. The bed sheets had stains. There was mold on the ceiling, bed skirt, refrigerator, sofa cushions and shower. The sinks were dirty with hair and debris. You can see that none of the furniture had been cleaned at all. Every day was a battle of fighting off the staff trying to sell you either a massage or privilege deal. It became annoying really fast. It was the same people every day. The food was very mediocre. A kid POOPED in the water. They closed the kids pool for an hour and then REOPENED it was without emptying it to cleaning it first. They didn’t even do anything to clean it. This was disgusting and we never went back. Across from our room was a storage room for drinks and supplies. There was always a bunch of men (staff) hanging out there drinking beers and talking. It was like the staff hang out. Very sketchy and awkward for us getting in and out our room. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They need to hire better staff. Especially the cleaning staff and servers. You don’t feel safe here. If it wasn’t for my husband I would’ve left right away. Ocean El Faro has ruined the H10 experience for us. I don’t think we’ll be going to any other locations after this.

The resort was clean, safe and had an enjoyable environment around the clock. The food was good with a lot of options from buffet to steaks. I wish they catered to the Muslim demographic more as getting halal meat was a struggle.
I love the view and the variety of food/beverages. I didnt like being hassled to buy property at the resort. I wasnt told that it was basically a timeshare in other words. They hound you for a sale I asked to think about it and the sales guy got really upset and aggressive. The resort had a different menu for much and dinner everyday. I didnt like that the safe didnt work. The maintenance came to replace the safe and it worked after that. I got locked out of my room daily due to something being wrong with the door lock and had to walk back up the front lobby which was a long walk even when it was raining. Also it seems you can bring pool floats because they are extremely expensive at the gift shop. Bring cash if you are going to tip. I was told by the front desk I can use the atm in the lobby then switch over to US currency but the front desk acted like they didn’t understand after I already used the atm to get their currency and they didnt want to the the money from the atm. Over all it was a nice place to visit and enjoy my birthday. Do your research when going to places out of the country.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Ocean El Faro Resort to celebrate my birthday, and it was an absolute disaster. We asked the resort to arrange a surprise for my birthday, but despite their promises, nothing was done. The food was awful, and we all got food poisoning that lasted even after we returned home. I was sick for an entire week, missed work, and had to be hospitalized for a day due to the severity of the illness. The “all-inclusive” experience was misleading; many areas were restricted, and they constantly pushed us to upgrade to adults-only and exclusive areas, which were never mentioned before booking through Expedia. The service was incredibly slow, and we had broken amenities in our room, including a faulty balcony door and a hot tub that didn’t work. To make things worse, they forgot to give us the floating swing, which was supposed to be in every room. We had to ask multiple times to get it. The TV only had their loop channels, and the staff was rude and unhelpful. The beach was dirty, and the property’s condition was far from what we expected. The resort marketed itself as a paradise, but it felt more like a scam. The only positive part of the trip was the restaurant area and a bartender named Omar, who was friendly and welcoming. Overall, the experience was frustrating and disappointing, and I would never recommend this resort to anyone. It was a waste of money and time.

What a great vacation!! Kudos to our concierge, Jose M. for treating us like royalty. He inquired as to our needs every morning and personally ensured we were well taken care of. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Shout out to the waiters and waitresses in El Mercado who greeted us cheerfully every morning and noon. We dined in every restaurant and found the food delicious. The pools were clean and refreshing and the grounds were equally well maintained. Looking forward to a return visit.

The common areas of the property are absolutely stunning. Impressive lobby area and open plaza. The food is below average at its best. Several parts of the property are in disrepair - i.e. the Route 66 restaurant is in desperate need of upkeep to its tables chairs, drywall, etc. The room was lovely but also in need of upkeep. We had a cracked/leaking roof, the lamp at the bedside was falling off/upside down, and the shower door would not close. Some staff were lovely and super friendly (omelette guy at Pez Dama, Stephany from the entertainment team, Lury at check-in) but others were snobbish and quite rude (the women at the lobby bar). The beach was rough and rocky so not the best for swimming but there are plenty pools. There was always something to do in between the nightly shows, beach parties, lobby bar open untill midnight, sports bar open until 1 and the disco. We wished the bowling alley stayed open later as we were never able to try it. Overall, I likely would not return to this property.
A Surprisingly Great Stay! My friends and I were a bit skeptical about staying at this resort after seeing all the reviews about theft on this page. 😬 But with the trip already booked (November 9-17 through Expedia), we decided to go for it—and we’re so glad we did! To our surprise, booking through Expedia came with butler service (which we had no idea about until we arrived). José, our butler, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, from restaurant reservations to stocking extra waters in our rooms. 🙌 Our group had an absolute blast! 🛏️Rooms: My partner and I booked a junior suite swim-up. It wasn’t as humid as we expected, though we did bring DampRid just in case. No issues with theft whatsoever—we packed travel safes and brought a lock for the closet. We also only had our room cleaned while we were in there, just to be extra cautious. 🍔Food & Service: The food was decent overall! Breakfast, the buffet pizza, and Sakura were pretty good. Route 66 was a solid spot for late-night bites, but the real standout was the burgers at the burger bar—definitely our favorite! Service was mostly great, though sometimes it was hard to get cutlery or water at the tables. But Omar at the swim-up bar made up for it—he was amazing! 🏊♂️🍹 He kept our drinks flowing and even delivered them to our swim-up pool. Don’t miss the rum punch and mini beer shots! 🍻
My kids and I had a great vacation at this resort. The staff is always friendly and the dining experience was better than expected. We especially appreciate the tour consultants who provided great options for my family at low prices. The room is clean and dry (not damp like other resorts we have stayed at). The beach was decent size and there are constant golf carts available to get you to places. I’d come back soon.
We enjoyed all. Daisy club for my 6yo. Lazy River for all. Ocean not so much because it was very strong waves. But can’t blame the hotel for that 😜. Only request, please add chicken nuggets for the picky eaters. Thank you.
The rooms were very clean and modern. Air conditioning was very cold. Ambient outside temps in high 80s to low 90s. Inside 68. Towels and sheets spotless clean. Restaurants good variety and very hygienic. Some less then attentive service but overall good. Bars had strong drinks and quick service for all inclusive resorts. Only drawback is beach. We enjoy swimming in ocean and will go out a distance. Most of the area very rocky shelf. Sand stops 10 to 15 yards from high water mark. Be careful.

Beach in front of the resort is full of large rocks. Good luck if you have a food allergy, staff doesn't really know much about them, even if you're asked to list them when booking the restaurants. When we did have an issue with one of the restaurants closing earlier than listed, guest services provided 0 service to help. Even for someone with no allergies, you're basically eating to survive, not for the taste. Bathrooms look like they were designed in the 80s, even though it's a new resort. And they try to upsell you on everything!! My girlfriend asked for a glass of wine, they said they only sold by the bottle. Yes, at an all inclusive. Made a few friends that said they kept getting hit on by the staff too. The only person that would give this place 5 stars is their marketing director. Would not recommend.
I want to start off with saying the staff was amazing from the arrival to the end of my stay I had Jose as my host he was amazing he went out his way to make sure my trip was perfect . Diego at the light house was very polite Jestina jhon and Juan at the privilege pool by building 4 were beautiful u loved them all.. the two young men Luis &’ Alexandro at the bar in the lobby were super amazing . I literally loved them all lissette and newyorka my girls . Overall This was amazing all my needs were satisfied this place is beautiful and I’ll definitely be back

We had an unforgettable 5-night stay at Ocean El Faro! The resort's beautiful design, coupled with a wide array of delicious dining options, made for a truly indulgent experience. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We particularly enjoyed the refreshing drinks, lively entertainment, and the opportunity to relax by the pool or beach. This all-inclusive paradise exceeded our expectations and we can't wait to return!
The rooms are not cleaned properly. They have a strong musty smell. We even found a strange insect on the sofa. The bathroom was flooded every time you bathed. The attitude of some of the staff when you asked questions, etc. was not the appropriate one. On the second day of the stay they wanted to sell us a very expensive package to be "privilege" without having enjoyed it well and knowing if we were going to like it. It indicates "all inclusive" but the reality is not like that it would have to be "privilege" for it to be "all inclusive" because even in the bars they looked at the color of your key to see what category of customer you were, because of this they denied us water to drink in a bar. Finally, the children's pool area needs to be repair and a lot of maintenance. There were balls of hair floating and the whole structure has mold.
Would not stay here again. AC didn’t work properly. When showering, the water would flood the whole bathroom because there was a gap between the door and the floor even with door closed. The beach was inaccessible due to rocks being everywhere and it was very hard to walk up to the beach into the water without hurting yourself. Lastly, the waiter of buffet would talk about politics when he would know we are Ukrainian and told us that it is USA’s fault and that Ukraine should give up…. It’s not a subject we wanted to talk about during our vacation.

Rooms were not cleaned properly, all rooms at first and second floor had mildew, we changed room 2 times because of mildew, on the 3rd number first night water started leaking from the ceiling, all room all of our clothes and money and passports get wet, we had to sleep in our friends room because they didn’t send anyone to fix issue or give us another room, gave us room only next day at 4 pm. At public restroom door fell of almost on head of my mother in law. The resort is 6 years old, but looks like will be destroyed in a month or two. Definitely last time visiting them

Unique the entrance, but During Pool hours there was no control towards adult female “guest” by the staff . Families and children had to Watch inapropriate behavior and indecent from these “Guest” called las “pre pago”and also getting in the pool of the children.

We very much enjoyed our room with the rooftop (it was not a tacky decor). The pool atmosphere was very fun, with excellent bar service. The minimal children around were not a bother. The lazy pool was a fun addition. The only downfall was the food was not as up to par as we would have hoped, but we managed to still enjoy some things.

Great experience! The resort was safe and clean with lots of fun activities. The beach was easy to access and very beautiful. Food was great overall. The staff were wonderful. Johanser was super helpful and kind, making our dinner reservations when we had trouble doing it ourselves and answering all of our questions. Great vacation!
There was a fight in the disco of the resort If you go there you run the risk that something could happen to you and you will have to take care of it yourselves in any way you can. The hotel is unsafe in that respect. The staff just watched and did nothing. Be careful and consider this before you go.
We enjoyed the resort, however the food was terrible, the staff was amazing especially Saury from the lobby bar, estephany from the sports bar, a Melvin from Route 66 late night snack restaurant.The smell in the elevator was horrible, but Overall the staff cleaned our room daily, the resort is beautiful just need more activities and more vegan options.

Property is old and dirty. Buffett area was filthy and not a lot of restaurant options. Ocean is extremely rocky, be careful going in almost everyone cuts their foot on the rocks.
