Great location
Nice pool and view.
Great for family time. Not excellent clean
Fabulous pool and hot tub
Very accessible
Great place just be prepared if you book two bedrooms due to kids, they give you two suites that adjoin at the front door not inside the unit. Still great but would be nice to know before hand
Excellent
?
Wonderful! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Great place to stay on holiday. Second time stay here.
Excellent resort
The pool surrounding the property is great. No set parking meant you had to park away from your unit if it was busy (and we didn't go in peak season)
Great pool
I like the swimming corridor surrounding the suites where we like to swim as wished. Spa pool is also a good feature for us to stay warm and chat. Swimmers feel safe as the water depth is no more than 1.1m
Lovely stay. Very clean. Relaxing. Great having the water all around us. Close to shops. Definately stay again!!
Perfect
Quiet, clean and fun. Staff were lovely and helpful. I will be staying again.
The pool was wonderful. However, overall the property, especially the apartment that we occupied was ‘tired’, dirty and in need of some maintenance and care.
Loved the pool Just stepping out the loungeroom onto the deck then in the pool
Great escape resort
Awesome resort facility in a wonderful convenient location. The lagoon pool is the main attraction!
Fun place to stay, huge swimming pool, large balconies.
Beautiful place. Never disappoints!
I had the pleasure of staying at Oaks Port Stephens Pacific Blue Resort in Salamander Bay, and it was an unforgettable experience. The moment I stepped into my apartment, I was blown away by the stunning view—a perfect blend of lush greenery and the serene blue waters of the resort’s signature lagoon-style swimming pool, which was literally just behind my balcony. Waking up to the peaceful sight of the shimmering pool and having direct swim-out access from my balcony was an absolute dream. It felt like my own private oasis! The water was always crystal clear and perfectly maintained, making it ideal for a refreshing morning dip or a relaxing evening swim under the soft glow of the resort lights. The entire resort has a tranquil yet luxurious ambiance, with spacious, well-appointed rooms and modern amenities. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect throughout my stay.
Great location and family friendly
The pool is amazing & we really liked how it wraps around the whole resort with access to it from your swimout room. Rooms were clean and quite large
great pool
Excellent stay
First time at this resort with family. Great stay would definitely be returning.
Amazing pool
Liked it
We love the oaks and are return visitors.. the pool is great and although seperatly owned the restauant on site was delicious
We paid full price, including room service, yet no room service was provided. It's very disappointing, to be honest. When we ask the receptionist about anything, they always answer with short answers and don't offer help. We even had to go get our own towels from the reception ourselves!!! The only cafe/restaurant staff are very very very rude and the food takes for eveeeeer.
Great stay loved the pool. Would like to stay again.
Nice stay.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Clean pool and pool area. Quiet at night. Shops and food nearby. Easy parking. Staff helped me with our bags which was appreciated as I was travelling as a single mum.
Comfortable stay
It was good
The pool is amazing but the one bedroom swimout apartment I stayed in was dated. Poor WiFi on the TV and absolutely shocking daily house keeping which was included with our booking. Other than fresh towels there was no house keeping done with basic supplies like toilet paper and coffee not replenished. Rubbish not removed and It took 3 calls over more than 6 hours to receive those supplies on our third day of our stay.
Bit smell inside!carpet are dirty
Avoid this over priced establishment
Ok This place charges but does deliver. No soap in dispensary No room service or cleaning Did not have more than 2 towels They said they had run out As if we could get some soap they said ask cleaners tomorrow Cleaners didn’t come Ask can I collect soap was told no. The place is time share, over priced and not a resort. Gym is substandard and service is below par
Unique settings with pool surrounding the buildings. Better to choose ground floor rooms if possible. Close to woolies and Coles. Good options close by for take away. Resort restaurant does not offer much.
3-4 star resort with a 5 star price tag. Things broken that had to get fixed, pool lights not working, stairs creaked like an old mansion! Cleanliness of the entire place was sub par & a weird smell out of one of the showers. Stayed there last year but booked an apartment with a private owner which was nice, this time went through the resort and won't be doing that ever again. The money we spent for our stay is definitely not worth it! We won't be back!
We were upgraded which was a nice surprise however the room we were given didn't have as easy access to the pool as the one I had originally booked. There was no shower gel in the bottle in the shower. Luckily we had brought our own. Cigarette butts on the balcony floor. I think it's also very expensive for the quality of the rooms.
Overall a lovely room with an amazing size pool and great staff, but a little noisy and no spots to park your car in the evening.
Very noisy. No visible attempt to control noisy clients.
Property was tired and needed some TLC. Shower was full of mould. Dirty floors. Furniture was in good condition.
Fun getaway
Such a fun place to stay. The design of having a pool wrap around the entire place is clever and the pool was always spotless. Lovely balcony facing pool. Comfy bed. Good shower water pressure
The property had faulty switches and had no towels Forman’s no toilet paper- if we needed to go buy and provide our own amenities in would have booked a self contained apartment
Room isn't clean enough.
Fabulous
Wonderful Swimming Pool!!!
That's really amazing!!! Kids definitely love there! We booked a swim out apartment and my kids can just swim out and we just watch them on the balcony. If you booked a 2 bedder swim out apartment, they would say they don't have, and they would give you one studio and one bedder. That's common there but they are both connected together. So don't worry about it too much. The swimming pool is well maintained as well. Very cool.
Really lovely stay, thanks so much. Only issue is that there was no cooking appliances other than microwave and kettle for people that don’t want to buy food out.
This is a large property with a pool going around all of the units. There were people with huge flamingos and other inflatable toys in the pool which didn’t make for a good swimming experience. Kids took over the two spas with their blow up toys so we were unable to have a spa.The bottom units, which have the swim out, can be a little noisy and not very private as you have people playing and swimming past your unit all day. We stayed in the upstairs lagoon unit which was fairly quiet and private. We had a big studio room, clean enough, nice kitchenette, comfy king size bed. The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. This resort had a lot of families so I probably wouldn’t come here again as I prefer something a little quieter and more relaxed.
Great property, excellent staff.
Property was beautiful. You wouldn't know that you were still so close to the shops, it felt like your own private resort In the middle of nowhere.
Great place to stay loved walking out to the pool from the room.
Clean, quite, big
Smokers paradise
We stayed for 3 nights (Friday to Monday) and had a nice time. The room had been updated and was roomy. Bed was quite comfortable and the pool was nice and roomy. Sadly the room and bathroom was not as clean as expected, there was half a roll of toilet paper, no soap/shower gel/ shampoo/ conditioner. For a full kitchen we kind of expected there to be a cutting board and something more than a butter knife, no dishwashing liquid, tea towel or cloth. The air conditioner in the lounge room needed servicing as it smelt horrible so we couldn’t use it. The staff were very friendly and provided a couple of items which they were able to find which made the stay comfortable. The pool got quite dirty as it wasn’t cleaned through our stay. These things wouldn’t prevent us from staying again. What we were very disappointed in was the property being advertised as ‘non smoking property’ when in fact when I queried this with staff I was advised there is smoking allowed on the verandahs. We were surrounded by smokers making our veranda not useable and opening our doors for fresh air also not an option. Swimming past smokers was also unpleasant to say the least. Fresh air was not optional.
Checkin was easy n staff very helpful, curteous n professional, easy to access the whole complex n especially when swimming in the pool and its surrounds,
Have been there twice and love everything about it. The pool, the ambience and you have all facilities a walk away around you.
Children could access pool gates and parents didn’t appear to be always watching.
We liked Oaks Blue. Check-in was fast & smooth. Staff were friendly. We appreciate & were grateful for an upgrade to a studio overlooking the pool. Sadly, we did not have time to enjoy the facilities as it was only a place for us to sleep! We definitely had a comfortable sleep & showers that we needed. We checked out at 5 50am after 2 nights & Toni, staff on duty was cheerful attending to us so very early in the morning at check out. We recommended Oaks to our friends who will be heading this way. Keep up the good work, folks! We hope to come this way again!
Great service clean and cheap would recommend
Excellent property, booked 2 bedrooms with king sized but got 1 bedroom with a king and 2 other bedrooms with individual small sized bed.
Pool was great. Bed and TV were good. Room was clean but showing signs of its age - broken kitchen tap and broken plantation shutters which were extremely hard to slide open and shut.
Family holiday
A nice place for family getaway weekend. Apartment unit was clean, beds were comfy, and location is just across the road from bowling alley and shopping centre.
We loved our stay at the Oaks, the rooms were lovely and the premises was well kept. The kids loved the pool and spa.Satff were helpful and friendly. The only thing we found confusing was the room that we booked. We put in " 2 adults, 2 children and one room" We thought it was going to be ONE room with 2 bedrooms and a shared living area. However, it was 2 seperate rooms (Room# A and B ) - one with the living area, full kitchen and an ensuite and the other room next door as a bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette. Not ideal, but we made it work, but this need to be clearer for families. It was called a "2 bedroom dual key Lagoon Spa Apartment" I also feel that there needs to be some better kitchen utensils as it made any type of cooking hard when there were no sharp knives to use; oven temps were all faded. But overall, a great stay and place.
The canal/ pool was amazing
The pool is the highlight! The onsite restaurant is excellent with great service. We didn't have near enough body wash, dishwashing liquid etc in the room, but when I rang the reception the extra items were delivered by Housekeeping immediately! So lovely prompt service.
No towels in the gym, no 2nd set of towels in the room (gym session meant we didn't have towels for the next morning)
Beautiful location and accommodation.. will definitely book again..
Amazing swim out room
We love one bedroom swim out balcony with direct access to huge outdoor pool. Perfect for a couple or a family with kids. Also, a huge shopping mall is within 10 minutes walk. Will surely visit again.
Comfortable, clean with a nice pool and outdoor areas.
We had a wonderful stay at the Oaks, the room was perfect and exactly what we required. The only small issue we had was the smell coming from the floor drain in the bathroom, otherwise we had a wonderful time.
Private plunge pool apartment has a no pool use after 9:30pm. Why?!
Very easy checkin process. We had the lagoon view room on the second floor. 2 bedroom apartment and very spacious. Balcony over looking the pool. Shopping centre within walking distance. Property is in a very convenient location about a 5 mins drive from Nelson bay and all the restaurants and cafes there.
It was great, swim out room was fab, shame about the restaurant, food and drinks were amazing but not great service and 2 nights in a row our order was a mix up.
Close to everything & very quiet & relaxing.
great stay
Beautiful resort. Large clean rooms. Friendly staff. Pool is amazing!
swimming pool was unique, lovely place to stay
Amazing property.
Lovely place nice view clean amazing pool Come up here at lest Cople times a year
Awesome resort
Great relaxing feel to the resort, very clean and tidy. The resort I very well maintained, the only thing I think they could improve on it solar heating the swimming pool. We have stayed here 3 times and will definitely go back
This was ok for our brief stay as quiet at this time of year. Would hate to be guest in peak time as too close to all neighbours. Privacy and noise would be problem.
The resort staff were friendly and more accommodating than normal. We recieved a complimentary room upgrade without asking, just cause they could, and an afternoon checkout.
Great customer service good location
I liked the premises however the customer service from the gentlemen at the front desk was disrespectful. I asked if i could have a late check out as i was going dolphin watching later in the day. He said i could as someone else was checking in early that day which was a load of crap the premises was empy i called reception Saturday night and they said late checkout was ok.
great staff, friendly and helpful .Loved the pool access.bed was super comfy. all in all loved our stay.
Amazing place to stay in Nelson Bay! It is a bit pricey, and so is the rest of Nelson Bay. The room was clean and had a balcony and a nice view. The room had an inbuilt jacuzzi as well in the bath and there is a large living room area. The pool outside is very large and beautiful, and the steam room is a great commodity to have available. The staff were very friendly, one of them was so nice that she waited until 11pm to check us into our rooms, thank you so much to her! And finally, the beds were very comfortable! Downsides: The main downside is dining. The restaurant that is usually open there was closed because as we were told, "went on a holiday." This restaurant is independent of the resort, but still, this was inconvenient. Breakfast is also not available there. A buffet-type breakfast (something often seen in hotels and resorts) would be a nice addition to have and I recommend the owners to include this. Also, most of the large pool is shallow and made for kids. It would have been nice if it was more suited for adults to use, but there were areas where adults could swim so that's okay. Overall, would recommend it. Very professionally kept and comfortable resort! A buffet and/or working restaurant would push me up to 5 stars.
There is everything you need around the resot.walk to the shops and beach.
Wonderful stay but the bed was very hard
Received an upgrade which was very much appreciated. Lovely well maintained resort with beautiful pool. We didn't utilise the pool because we stayed in the winter but would be awesome during the summer.
Fantastic place to stay.
Met all expectations
We had a short..one night stay at the Oaks..... and all expectations were met...reception , communication , accommodation, assistance when required. Perhaps this would be a great site for a bank of EV charging stations give there seemed to be so few in Port Stephens.
Everything about this place was great. Smooth check-in and check-out process. Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. Walking distance to shopping centre (across the road), with dining options and the likes of Coles, bowling, Chinese & Thai cuisine, KFC. Few minutes drive to activities such as sand boarding, camel rides, go karting, aircraft museum and more. The main feature is by far the wrap around pool although the water temp is cool during winter. The spa and sauna made up for it though. Would be coming back in summertime.
It was a peaceful place
The facilities were nice and we enjoyed a relaxing stay. Property could have used some better cleaning and house keeping, and some of the furniture needed replacement.
Clean and spacious. Nice surroundings. Enjoyed the pool and tennis court. Downside was the aircon vent which was located externally made loud metallic vibrating sounds intermittently. Enough to keep us awake at night. Of course the manager said they will look into it when I told them at checkout but sleep was already affected. Problem was solved by not using the aircon. We were provided thin summer doonas and it was winter. Therefore, it was inadequate for keeping us warm in winter. Temp dropped to 8 degrees that night. Lucky we had winter pajamas to keep us warm. There were no extra blankets. We would come back but will ask for extra blankets and will check the aircon first thing we get there.
