It was a very nice hotel with very nice staff.

The breakfast was the best ever. Nice quiet rooms. Nice sauna and swimming pool. The only problem is the steam room gets filled with really unfriendly people in the evenings so it is best to go in early in the day. Best buffet breakfast ever!

A little cramped

The room was on the small side. The layout was odd in that the toilet is on one side and shower all the way around and opposite the toilet. The staff were friendly but very busy. There’s only one table for checkin. We liked the location the best, and would probably book it again for our family, but I don’t think we’d recommend.

Breakfast was fantastic with many options. The area was convenient for us and the 12:00 check-out time worked well. Good value for the money.

Great location/poor quality room

Location is why I chose this hotel and it did not disappoint. Close to Paddington Station, restaurants and the unique canals. I didn’t have enough time to explore the area! So much to see! Hotel restaurant, gym and pool are nice. Hotel room we got had a double bed with two twin beds and it was TINY! Literally zero room to walk or put luggage. Would be fine for just two adults but adding two kids made it claustrophobic. Bathroom was tiny. There was no place to hang four towels and no plugs next to the bed. Overall, would stay again for the location but not for a family trip.

Convenient location at the Paddington Station

It was in a nice area, but not easily accessible by car unless you know where to go. The hotel was nice, but did not have toiletries. Nice shops and restaurants around and it literally is right outside the Paddington station.

Not a great experience

Nice enough hotel nice communal areas however room small and neither the hotel or hotels.com informed us building work was going on. We had scaffolding outside our window asked to move rooms but told no, this was very noisy on Friday so do not reccomend if travelling long hours and want day time rest. the sofa bed is also made up on 2 single beds with metal inbetween not ideal for young children. We messaged the hotel twice prior to arrival to request a cot but not cot when we arrived. The pool is not warm at all. All the guests were saying you can’t stay in it for even 15 minutes. Only one tea bag in the room. Breakfast crowded and not enough tables or staff to manage it. Also the access is not ideal. It’s a 5 min walk to get a taxi again with you children and luggage etc not ideal. Informed reception about our disappointment and they were nothing but defensive

Nice hotel conveniently located 5 minute walk to Paddington Tube station. Nice bar/restaurant with very nice staff. They are going through renovations but the makeshift checkin center/desk was convenient and nice. We will probably stay there again because the Heathrow express goes directly to Paddington, making the transfer to and from Heathrow really easy.

The Foyer and spa of the hotel are lovely and staff polite. The rooms are tired and need modernising. No usb points and strange toilet separate from rest of bathroom situation with no sink next to toilet so you have to walk through your room to wash your hands.

We had a great stay, our room faced the train track but we never heard the trains. Our room could use updating like new carpet but everything felt clean and accommodating. Breakfast was good, would have loved a non dairy milk option but otherwise lots of options for food. The construction only happens during the day and we were always out to see the city so we never noticed it. I would stay here again.

Amazing Service 5*

Amazing service as always. Easy to get around London with underground and train stations near by. Hotel staff friendly and helpful.

We had a fantastic 2 nights stay with our 5year old daughter. Facilities and staff were fantastic. We will definitely be back!

Excellent location

Overall it was a good stay for 2 nights. Carpets are stained, which that's why I didn't leave a higher rating on cleanliness. Staff don't always greet you when you arrive, it seems a more impersonal hotel.

Nice, easy, convenient stay after an event at Wembley. Check in was a bit odd, the staff are on a table. So there’s no clear queue which caused a little friction between people. But they let us check in at 2pm no issues. We had an executive family room (2a & 1c) which was clean. However no bed for the child. Had to call housekeeping to have the sofa made up which took about half an hour. Then we realised the following morning that there was no extra towels etc for 3rd person so do double check. Lovely nespresso machine which sadly didn’t work. Only one small bottle of water in fridge which seems strange for 3 people. Hotel covered in scaffolding but doesn’t affect stay at all. Area itself is GORGEOUS. So close to Paddington but idyllic, the canals boats etc are beautiful.

First time at Novotel, was impressed. Lovely room and facilities, although I didn’t get to see swimming pool. Lovely quiet location, with shops, cafe and diners. Closely located to station although I did get lost to find it. Staff were helpful, the only thing that seemed awkward was that Reception were seated very low on table. Definitely recommend for solo travellers and their dogs. Thank you.

Pet friendly is not the word I would use pet surcharge £50 for a 4 kg dog to stay in the same room. No bowl provided nothing for the £50 not what I would Call pet friendly do not profit from pets

There was ongoing construction during the day 9-5 and scaffolding in front of our windows. We had to keep drapes closed. We were not in the room during the construction hours so did not impact us. Hotel was clean and conveniently located and reasonably priced. We had a good stay.

Lush few days. The building work didn’t detract from our stay. Clean, well equipped room. We loved the clean pool, good gym and provision of towels and good toiletries was appreciated.

The rooms are dated, specifically the carpet was stained. The room we reserved was not ready upon arrival, after 5 pm, as they booked the wrong room, however, the staff worked hard to mend their mistake.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They went out of their way, whenever possible, to meet our needs and make us feel comfortable. The hotel was clean and we had everything we needed. The room was comfortable, clean and quite spacious. (Though the sofabeds are probably best on a short-term basis.) We were pleased with the location - very central and in the immediate vicinity of Little Venice, which is an area that we are drawn to. We also love the immediate neighborhood with the inviting garden walkway to the hotel entrance. The only reason for a slightly lower score on property condition was the current renovations. The renovations were a slight minus, though we found that this did not have a great effect on our stay. (There is notice of the renovations on the hotel website. And the situation is temporary.) All in all, a great hotel option! - and we will be returning.

Be aware: there is building work underway on the outside of the hotel which means scaffolding and workmen outside windows, and drilling noise from 9am until 5pm. We did not find this out until we checked in! The official Accor website only shows this if you open the "Hotel Information" box, and states this will be the case from January until November 2024. It is NOT MENTIONED in the Expedia details, only in the customer reviews (which we unfortunately did not read before making a last-minute booking!). Having said that, the staff were extremely friendly, patient and helpful, and the noise did not affect us as we were out all day. The location in Paddington Central is ideal for accessing the tube, with all central tourist attractions within a few stops. There is an excellent selection of bars, coffee shops and restaurants around the picturesque canal setting. The bathroom faciltiies in our room were a bit dated and could do with modernising. However when we reported in the morning that our shower door was leaking it had been dealt with by the time we returned for dinner.

This property was in a great location; very walkable to Paddington Station from where you can get anywhere in London. The staff were superb, the hotel was clean and very modern and the rooms quite spacious and comfortable. The area around the hotel was very quiet but within a short distance there were lots of lively dining spots. The breakfast had lots of wonderful choices for all tastes. We would definitely return to this hotel for future stays in London.

Fab hotel in a great location

Slightly out of the way for our itinerary but that was our choice. Room was for 2 adults 1 child and room was only made up for 2 (happens in a lot of places and was quickly rectified). However, building work going on at the hotel, scaffolding up and some noise. When we got to the room, could not see out of windows due to scaffolding and covering. This was not explained on Expedia site or communicated by the reception staff at check in. We were glad we arrived on a Friday, as not sure who would be outside your window waking up on a working day!

We loved our stay, staff were so helpful and couldn't do more for me and my 2 kids. Convenient for Paddington train and tube station.

Had a leak in the bathroom that was taken care of quickly. Two foldout beds were opened, even though we did not need them for two people.

Clean, modern, great area

Our second stay here. Would have greatly appreciated being told there was extensive renovations being carried out to the hotel exterior. Our view from our room (previously fabulous) was of scaffolding and tarp and tools. Nothing else at all. Very very disappointing. It was a special birthday surprise trip for my husband.

I didn’t not know they were doing such an expansive renovation that would be so loud. We travelled with a little one so this wasn’t great for us.

The hotel is currently under construction- they start drilling and banging very early. They don’t verbally mention this upon check-in. It is a small blurb on their welcome letter. You have to book a time to use the pool and it closes very early ( not convenient or spontaneous). Not good value for the money because of the above reasons. Otherwise, it is a good location and clean room.

There were several problems with the hotel. First, when booking with Expedia we were not told that the hotel was under construction. Our room was not very clean. The bathroom sink took about 20 minutes to drain after each use. There were only 2 usable electric outlets which does not work well for family with many devices to charge. I would not stay again.

The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars for Property Conditions & Facilities is because the outside of the hotel was under construction. And that’s only because I think I should have been notified prior to my stay. Otherwise, everything else was lovely. Constantly clean and easy to navigate layout. And though I had limited interaction with staff, any time I did speak to anyone, they were all great!

This property bis easy for access to Underground and Railways with a short walk of 10mins. The surroundings are attractive with the grand Union Canal. The staff there are helpful and the breakfast included is a very good quality English breakfast. The Ac worked very well and quiet. Our room was not cleaned daily during our 9 days stay. But once we asked the reception, it was cleaned. We killed a crawling bug - about 3cm on our room carpet. So we requested the room to be cleaned that day!

The Novatel in Paddington is a reasonable place to stay. However, on this occasion work was being undertaken every week day, limiting our enjoyment. The bathroom/toilet is an interesting configuration. It is great that the toilet is separate. However, the bathroom is the only place to wash ones hands. Were there supposed to be hand basins in the toilet? COVID has introduced us to hand sanitizer which is an option for the individual to provide. Check in was ordinary, with noone coming to advise us our room was ready even though we had collected our laptops and were using the area nearby. The bed was fine, as were the towels, but not special. The lobby area is good. The bar area is great with power points, another excellent feature of the bedroom. This was a good size with nice hanging space and full length mirrors. So, for me a bit of a mixed bag. Probably I'd stay there again but feel I'd also look at other options.

Great location

Novotel hotel in efficient neighborhood

Single night stay. Was unable to check in early, but hotel kept our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. The hotel facade was under going construction and was surrounded by scaffolding, limiting views, The surrounding area is great, with easy access to restaurants, coffee, dim sum, mini supermarket and paddington station. The room was small but typical and appropriate, although we found an old pacifier underneath our bed

We were notified of hotel construction at check in. We paid full rate for the honor to have no stop noice from 9-5. It’s shameful and deceitful. Not the minor attempt to maybe give free breakfast or anything. I feel robbed and impotent. Don’t book this hotel.

Great hotel, but under renovation

I love the hotel. It's very well designed, modern and good value for money. The big disappointment this time was that the hotel is presently under reservation, and that wasn't made clear when we booked. As a result, there was scaffolding outside our room, and at times, the place was quite nosiy.

Novotel Paddington was conveniently located near the Underground, excellent dining options and sightseeing. Walking distance to Little Venice, Notting Hill and other London sites. Hotel Lobby is lovely (small but modern) and the lounge is a nice place to have a cocktail or small bite. The hotel exterior is currently under renovation until November I believe therefore extremely noisy between 9am-5pm. We were out most days during these hours therefore did not bother us. Gym is small and pool was closed for most our stay. Staff was friendly and professional.

Nice spot near Paddington and Little Venice!

The best part of this hotel was the location and proximity to Paddington Station and Little Venice. It is in a very nice and quiet pedestrian area with access to some restaurants, a small grocery store and barge restaurants on the canal, not to mention a 7 minute walk to Paddington station which offers the Tube, Heathrow Express, National Rail and additional fast food shops. We arrived and found the facade of the hotel under construction. Hotels.com was supposed to notify me of this but I'm not sure they did. There was quite a bit of noise between business hours (9-5). This ultimately wasn't much of a problem as we didn't spend much time there during those hours. The biggest problem was that the pool was out of order for our entire stay. They kept telling us it would be fixed soon, but invariably it was never fixed during our stay. This was a big disappointment to my kids. We love to refresh in the afternoon to break up a long day of sightseeing. I realize there are things beyond the control of the hotel staff, but it was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel. I chose it as an affordable option for a family of four, in a good location, and with a pool. Got most of that! Just not the pool

Would not stay again

We booked a family room and the room was so small the beds filled the entire space, leaving no room to walk. The towels were cheap. Mildew stains in the bathroom. The temperature control knob for the shower was so difficult to move, we thought it was broken. The bathroom lighting was horrible and the fixture was cracked. The wall in the toilet area had stains on it. For over £300 a night, this was not expected.

Avoid in 2024 - hammering and banging in mornings

Hotel is undergoing extensive renovation throughout most of 2024. We booked our room under hotels.com and this information was not conveyed to us when payment was taken, nor was it explained when we checked in. Incessant hammering and banging right outside our room from before 9am until our departure. Apparently the management think this is an acceptable experience for its guests.

It was a 3 star hotel with 4 star price. We arrived at 8:30 PM. We're very tired from a 16 hour flight. We got to our room and there was a concert going on on their party deck with extremely loud music until 10 PM. This made it hard for our son to get any rest until it was over. There were no bathroom amenities, and our shower leaked. It would spray against the shower door and caused the bathroom to get really wet very. They rectified, this by giving us a stack of towels for us to mop up the floor. They did offer to have maintenance come by the next morning, but we had already unpacked everything, and didn't want somebody in our room working while we were out. The room was really small and the second bed was a folded couch. The toilet was a four by three area and the shower was just a small. The breakfast was not worth the price we paid. I would not suggest ordering breakfast, it's not worth it. I would say that the location is good with a short walk to the train station. The staff was also really nice. Inconclusion, we felt the advertisement for this hotel was really exaggerated and would not have ordered it if we need all this before hand.

Novotel close to Paddington Station

Comfortable hotel within easy walking distance of Paddington station and with many restaurants close by. It's a big chain hotel, so not really an individual type experience, but the staff were friendly and helpful and it suited what I needed. Biggest downside is the price, but then this is central London and nothing is cheap (or even remotely good value for money) here.

Will never book Novotel again. Hotel arrogant to charge high prices during major construction. Scaffolding all around building which is not advised in Expedia website. You can hear drilling sounds when in your room and have no privacy as construction worker walks on scaffolding and can see into room window. We had to keep curtains closed at all times. When spoke to hotel staff about not knowing that hotel was under construction, they reply that it’s noted on their website. When look at their website, there is small notice which you have to click on and it is mildly worded such that one would think it’s minor construction. When asked for a price reduction due to construction, hotel staff are like robots repeating the same memorized drivel and are very arrogant in how they keep repeating this drivel both at checkin and at check out. Hotel staff will not offer anything to mitigate the poor experience of discovering major construction, for example, complimentary breakfast could be offered. Room TV and phone didn’t work. Rooms have a strange set up with toilet in a cubicle from the sink, so cant wash your hands near toilet. No front desk either which is strange. To use pool this hotel asks you to provide your medical history to assess whether you will be given access!! Didn’t use pool. Overall this hotel and staff do not even come close the excellent hospitality that a large similarly priced North American chain would offer to mitigate the impact of construction on the guests.

Disappointing stay

Have stayed here many times and rooms are long overdue an upgrade. Pillows poor quality and no plug socket on bedside table, ill designed room. There were building works which I was not informed of and resulted in drilling from 9am so loudly the television couldn’t be heard. The fridge light was also broken which resulted in flashing light flashing all nights.

It was a clean property. Close to Paddington station and some great dining options close by. Access to the pool and gym was great. Would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay, with very good location, safe, clean and good service, giving prompt response to our requests. Little Venice and Paddington Station are very close to the property, which is very convenient when you are visiting. There are also good dining options, stores and supermarkets around.

Pleasant stay

It was a very pleasant stay. Staff were very friendly and hotel looked clean and modern. The breakfast each morning is exactly the same but good mix of food items. Pool was small but peaceful and gif us rather quiet.

The location to Paddington was excellent and the restaurants and shops around were fabulous. The exterior currently is disappointing as there is obviously work going on to the building which didn't help with the noise and high winds as tarpaulin was flapping constantly out while stay. We had men coming up and down past our 4th floor window with no warning. The swimming pool and gym were excellent and clean. The check in was excellent. On arriving back on Sunday night we didn't even get a glance let alone a good evening from the night staff. The kettle had to be held down in our room for it to work. The pillows we had to ask to be changed as they were extremely out of shape and used. It is a good hotel for location and I imagine quite quiet if it wasn't bedecked with scaffolding usually. I'm not sure it's worth the price we paid for the room.

The room was good size with big beds but the room was freezing cold. Couldn’t adjust thermostat. Put out cold air no heat.

Family room is too small for 4 people. No USB or euro plug outlets in room. Beds were very uncomfortable. Breakfast and pool were OK. Area is quiet and a short walk to Paddington but we would not stay here again.

A lovely area but a bit left to be desired!

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating. However, the “family” room is not well-designed for a young family. For example, the hand soap is in a secured dispenser on the wall- so high up that it’s impossible for children to reach. The communal areas of the hotel are well maintained and look lovely, but the room had no towel rain for drying towels after use and the shower door didn’t close properly.

The hotel was very clean. Check in was super easy. The bar was great too. We loved the proximity to Paddington Station.

since it is my first trip to UK, I will compare this hotel to the ones in America which I had more experience with. Pros: close to Paddington Station. 15 min to Heathrow airport via Heathrow express. Easy commute to all major attractions. There are grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants within walking distance. Nice and well-lit (Christmas decorations) Neighborhood. Staff was helpful. Nice breakfast in the hotel. Cons: The room is at most a 3-star, if not a 2.5-star hotel room by US standard. Small. Sheets, pillows, towels, shower products are very basic. There are hairs on the floor and on the sheets. Sheets had a unique smell which I did not know what it was. Overall, my family had a good stay.

I have been staying here for a number of years now, rooms are due a refurb. Having a separate toilet with no basin is not practical. Pillows were uncomfortable and incredibly poor quality.

Convenient but average

Location of this hotel is the best thing about it. It also has a small pool and gym which are nice to have but not excellent. Superior rooms were dated, cramped with lumpy pillows and duvets. There has been an effort to create a nice bar/restaurant space downstairs but there was no atmosphere even the week before Christmas, and the staff were mostly unwelcoming.. Front desk staff were inconsistent - some great/friendly, some rude.
