Mediocre hotel
Front desk was lovely. Easy check in, even though we arrive early they gave us one of the rooms to put our luggage. The gentleman was friendly and vey courteous. House keeping was a different story, actually one of the days our room was not cleaned at all. We made our own bed...
We arrived late at night so haven’t seen much around yet but the hotel is very nice, breakfast was very good and staff friendly
Great
The hotel was amazing. Great location near southwark tube. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Only reason i didnt mark perfect is because the shower overflowed onto bathroom floor which meant my son didnt have time to shower.
Good stay
Great
Lovely venue and lovely staff. No complaints
Very nice
Unprofessionalism
One thing I was really upset about regarding my stay was that I had contacted the staff and had even spoken to them on the phone in order to request for an additional celebration arrangement a week beforehand for our one year anniversary which I was very much looking forward to. They even agreed and sent me the celebration bundle service they provide. But later they stopped responding to me and ignored my messages. I really wanted to surprise my partner. I'm gutted.
Family stay
We had an amazing stay . The reception staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us . We got an early check in as our room was ready , which we were very grateful for ..we had an early flight . The kids loved the pool and the fact that there was two tvs in the room. Would definitely recommend to friends and family !
Good location for london weekend, not many vegan options at breakfast
really happy with our stayb
Great staff at check in. Very helpful and happy to give advice and directions.
Nice location Easy to get to other parts of London Check in lady was curt. The property was reasonably clean Close to Borough Market Breakfast at the property was good with quick service
The hotel was close to a tube station which is convenient. It is also close to Borough Market. The restaurant on site, Jamboree, is ok but not great.
The property is located within easy walking distance of Blackfriars, which made for an easy trip from Gatwick. The property was clean, though the pillows could have done with being replaced. A nice touch was having separate shampoo and conditioner. Although a small thing, it was much appreciated!
Really great stay which was mainly due to helpfulness of the staff and the comfort of the bed and quiet environment
great hotel, service not so much
You can walk to the landmarks
Good
Dark little room and I couldn’t work out how to switch the light round the bed off. But functional and good location for Tate.
Uncomfortable beds
Great location family friendly and staff helpful. Beds and pillows not comfortable at all wouldn’t stay at another Novotel due to this
Great location, friendly welcome. Rooms a little tired but clean and comfy
Prompt service, helpful staff, really clean rooms and good location.
Great Family stay
Great hotel for family stay including pool. Breakfast very busy but staff very helpful.
Accessibility and comfort throughout the area was exceptional and awesome
Nice staff and helpful. Room bathroom has a glass wall that when someone is in bathroom it lights up the entire room. Hard to stay asleep. I would recommend this hotel. Restaurant is good
Lovely hotel in a good convenient location near to Blackfriars station. We really liked the room, it was clean and comfortable.
My 13 year old daughter and I stayed one night for some sightseeing in London. The hotel was clean, quiet and perfect . Easy walk from Blackfriars station. Very friendly staff (particularly Daniel on check in) who facilitated a room for an early check in so we could drop our bag and freshen up, We visited the pool (need to pre book) was a bit chilly but bearable and plenty of towels . Breakfast was plentiful with lots of selection. Air con worked and complimentary bottles of water were good. Reasonable price for London and the staff being so helpful is rare (in my experience of other London hotels) Be aware it’s cashless at the bar and restaurant. Would stay again,
Weekend trip
Lovely hotel in great location. Early check in was much appreciated, thanks especially to Daniel on reception!
3 night family break
Great location, very easy to walk from Waterloo and close to the London eye. Good swimming pool and gym. Would of been nice if the pool was a little warmer. Great bar and we had good food. Expensive and service charges even if you're just buying a single drink. Maybe this is normal these days, but annoying. Good breakfast and the staff were excellent. Room was nice, the kids loved the see through shower! Good air conditioning and TV. A little cramped with the kids beds, but we were comfortable and it worked for our three night stay. We would stay again.
Stayed with family (with a teen and a tween) for bank holiday. Great location for transport, restaurants, West End plays. Book for the pool but it wasnt overcrowded as a result and kids loved it. Food was ver good, both room service and the breakfast. Staff were really helpful and delivered excellent customer service.
Comfortable stay, great pool for parents and kids, convenient access to tube, river walk, Tate Modern, and lots of pubs. Food was not great; get food out if you can.
Had a wonderful stay ! First time across the pond, and can’t wait to return. The staff went above and beyond accommodating our needs. Really felt sad leaving !!
Great place to stay when exploring London
London stay
Our room was super tiny. We had a horrible view and it just felt very cramped.
Near by many locations by walking
Short walk to nearby tube station. Great restaurants, pubs and cafes nearby.
Finding a family room with two tall teens is getting tricky but we had enough space here and the single beds were comfy and big enough. Bottled water, real milk, tea, coffee and biscuits in the room was all a great bonus. As was the decent wifi! The bathroom was a little odd since it is separated from the room by a mostly opaque wall but we managed!
Good location great staff and decent rooms
This property is walking distance to the bridges and Thames. You can see London Eye from the bridges. The property was very clean, felt safe and has friendly staff. The gym and pool facilities were also great.
Our stay was wonderful as usual. Second time staying with my family ans we would be back again.
Book a hotel with a pool but it was very cold, my daughter was shivering. It can also only have 14 people in at one time. Not ideal when it has 100s of rooms.
great location and service
High price poor service
Slow checkin, very bad water pressure in room, poor quality breakfast and bad housekeeping
This was our first time staying in a European hotel. I had read that most European hotels were smaller than American hotels. While the room wasn't large, it certainly was large enough for our family of 4 to sleep comfortably. The bathroom was spacious as well. We were particularly happy to find water and snacks available in the room. The hotel is situated in an excellent part of town that is walking distance to The Queen's Walk, and other tourist friendly attractions such as the London Eye. We enjoyed being able to walk everywhere! The pool is small so we had to make a reservation to use it. However, the reservation process was super easy and I was able to swim and use the sauna after a long day of traveling.
Front of house service amazing. The bathroom has opaque glass into bedroom so if sharing with family, they can see you in the shower/toilet...really very poor design
Nice place to stay-Highly recommend
This hotel was similar to most hotel but there's a full bar and restaurant. Food and drinks we delicious and we loved the shower. Hotel is near two train stations and not far from London Eye. There's a park near there which i highly recommend if you like nature. Would stay again.
Minimalist design
Not the traditional style, in my opinion the bathroom design hasn’t enough privacy if you are staying with kids
Last minute plans
Our stay was lovely. It was booked very last minute, but we were very pleased. We were upgraded to an executive room and it was beautiful. We were exhausted and it made all the difference to have a clean, safe, and quiet place to stay!
Great property. Easy to get to everything by the tube and walking to the South Bank. Staff was wonderful and helpful.
Very Nice Stay
Very nice hotel close to the heart of London. Easy walk to and from Southwark Station. Very accommodating staff, very accustomed to traveling clients.
Front desk staff was really helpful and courteous.
Toilet stopped working frequently, had to call them twice to get it fixed. Shower kept getting clogged.
We didn't have the greatest stay at this hotel. It's clean, looks nice, good location. But the processes of booking a pool time, and using an app for everything was annoying. It's nice to have the option but it was basically mandatory. We hadn't eaten so we decided to get room service. Used the app and waited. After about an hour of refreshing an app that just said our order was "pending". I called the front desk to ask about our order. We discover they somehow didn't see it and said it would be up to our room soon. After 1 hour and 45 minutes we finally got our food. We got a small "sorry". Food was good the first night but the breakfast was chaos. That's the only word i can use for it. So many people and the space isn't quite big enough. Things weren't being refilled very fast, we went up a few times to find trays empty. It tasted good but we honestly couldn't wait to get out of there. To much stuff scattered across a small room with way too many people. There was even a notice by the elevator that the breakfast is busy and recommending to order room service instead, which obviously is in our experience unreliable. Now heres the final bad experience. On our last night just as we were about to sleep the fire alarm sounds. We quickly get out and discover there was actually a small fire. We were allowed back in after 2 hours or so outside. Not hotels fault, but there weren't enough emergency blankets and little instruction. Scary and they were ill prepared.
I was out all day They did not make my room. I left shopping in the room and it was missing after the room was serviced. I told the manager and had a completely indifferent response at the beginning. At the end the matter was never resolved. Terrible Management!
I like it
Nothing to complain or write home about …
Check in and check out was painless. Staff friendly and professional. Small room for being a “superior room”. Location not to far from tube or train stations. All in all ok.
Great central location walkable to many London attractions, tubes and buses. Clean rooms with nice amenities. Staff offered excellent service!
Would stay here again
A great hotel, 2 mins from Southwark St tube but in a nice, quiet area. The room was fairly spacious and functional. The only downpoint was the shower which wasn’t great and was quite confusing and stiff to operate, but everything else was good. Decent sized fridge, big tv. Reception staff were really helpful and the kids loved having the swimming pool.
Nice place
Wonderful place to stay only stayed 1 night before we went to Heathrow but best hotel I’ve stayed in for a long time
Clean room and friendly staff
The staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. Daily breakfast buffet is nice.
We really enjoyed our stay at Novotel Blackfriars for 8 nights. Location is great, very central and convenient. A few minutes walk to the tube and steps away from buses. Close to a number of express grocery stores and variety of restaurants The service at the hotel was great. Very friendly staff. We also enjoyed the pool. Highly recommend.
Stayed 1 night in May. Can’t fault anything really. The room with a double plus sofa bed met our needs (parents with 1 child). We were on 2nd floor at the front of the hotel on the road but it was quiet and didn’t hear any road noise (stayed Saturday night). We didn’t have breakfast as we needed to leave early so I can’t comment on food, but there are lots of places to eat with a 5 minute. Staff were very friendly and booked a taxi for us that turned up in under 2 minutes which was amazing. Used the pool which wasn’t huge but we had it all to ourselves for an hour. You need to book a time slot for pool and get a key card but that’s fine. Slight comedy moment as my wife couldn’t open the pool locker after a swim but maintenance came pretty quick and reset the lock. Lots of towels at the pool although changing rooms not huge. Overall all good and no complaints.
Good location okay hotel
Good Value
Very comfortable room for 3 adults - spacious and a lovely bathroom with shower . Nice Area - Also Convenient to get around London

Good breakfast and great choice
Superb Stay
Breakfast was superb, elevators are fast and smooth, sauna temperature is around 50 degrees celcius but pool seems a bit small.
Good hotel and offered everything my two sons and I needed on our short city break.
Can’t fault. Any issues were sorted out well.
Comfortable and Stylish room. Only discovered that the bathroom could have privacy at a touch of a button the next day though! ;-)
Novotel London Blackfriars was a lovely hotel, with excellent cleaning services, hospitality and comfort. We found it to be extremely reasonably priced, so even including Uber across the Thames to popular sites, the cost was still well below staying at a hotel in a more popular (read: expensive) area, such as Covent Garden. The closest tube station is Southwark, although the larger station Waterloo is within walking distance if you don’t mind a little exercise. Mostly we used Uber and black cabs; there is also a very close and convenient bus stop across the street. The attached Jamboree restaurant had a delicious breakfast buffet for 21 pounds/person and kids eat free with an adult. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Please note that check-in is not until 3pm, so when we arrived early, we left our luggage with the concierge and went exploring. One perk (I don’t know if this is common or if it was a special treat for us since we had a longer stay) was that our refrigerator was stocked daily with bottles of sparkling and still water at no extra cost. I would definitely stay here again.
I have never stayed in the Southwark area of London before but was pleasantly surprised to learn that a very quiet and well connected station was only a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The breakfast was really excellent and better than any of the same standard of hotel I have been in. The room was clean with plenty of space and there was never any delay in getting the lift. It was also a nice surprise to have a good sauna and swimming pool in the basement of the hotel Finally, Giuseppe, 1 of the managers went out of his way to forward on an important envelope that was supposed to have arrived for a meeting in London on the 1st day of my stay but did not arrive until several days after I left. As this was not what would normally happen he went above and beyond the call of duty to look after someone who was not even any more a guest. Exceptional customer service.
Excellent hotel, very accommodating for family request, the glass that is exposed to the bedroom wall was covered as we requested and all amenities were great!
Great place near Central London
Fantastic service. Rooms were clean and they were very accommodating to find a double room for my family. My kids loved the pool. Would stay again for myself or with family without reservation. Easy access to underground and bus.
Great hotel, will be back. Daniel at reception was so lovely and helpful! Only thing - pool could be warmer! 🙏
We really liked how convenient this hotel was to the Tub station. It was a 1 minute walk and we were there. The hotel was on a less busy side of town, which we liked and it felt safe. Room was clean and water stocked in the fridge daily was a big plus! We would stay here again.
Checked all the boxes!
We loved this hotel for our first visit to London. A walkable distance to everything we wanted to see. The staff was incredibly friendly. It checked all the boxes that we hoped for. Location, comfort, service!
Excellent stay
Great hotel in central London. Visited with my son. Staff very pleasant. Will return again.
Lovely, convenient hotel
This hotel was conveniently situated between London Waterloo and Tower Bridge with easy access into the city shopping areas. The hotel was clean with a lovely pool facility that was a joy to spend time at. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty and the hotel was close to many places to eat out at for dinner, great selection to choose from. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, all together a very nice hotel to stay at
Property was good for the price. Staff was very nice and efficient. Only negative was the pool was quite cold.
Lovely and clean, polite and help staff, great breakfast!
Lovely family stay
Lovely hotel near the station. Customer service was very good and the pool was lovely.
Very comfortable
A lovely hotel, in a great location. Room was clean and big enough for us. Highly recommend!
The staff were very helpful and friendly and really made my stay pleasant at the hotel. The hotel itself is very close to a metro stop and very close to walk to the Thames and see many attractions. The room was large and comfortable. I would stay here again.
Wonderful stay
We had a 3 Night stay here for a family trip. It was very conveniently located to the Underground yet still in a very quiet area. The beds were very comfortable and we slept great - didn’t hear our neighbors or any outside noise at all. We had breakfast included and there were ample choices for everyone. The restaurant for dinner didn’t have a huge menu but the food was very good! We booked the pool two different times and enjoyed it very much! Our only complaint would be that the wall between the shower and the beds was a foggy glass type wall and you could see through it if the person showering got close enough to it - also when you turned on the bathroom light in the middle of the night it would light up the whole hotel room. Overall we loved our stay and would absolutely stay again! Very friendly and helpful staff as well.
Nice hotel. Modern & clean. Tv didn’t work properly but although we reported on first night it wasn’t sorted until we reported it again on 2nd night. Also we were disturbed on the Sunday morning quite early by what sounded like drilling in a room above us. It was @ 9am but as we didn’t have to check out till noon it ruined our chilled morning. Ended up checking out early as a result
Excellent option!
A very convenient hotel in London, I recommend it! If you are traveling in family, just take into account the shower has a glass that faces the room directly; although it is tinted, it may be uncomfortable. Thanks for everything!
Comfortable hotel
This was the 2nd time stayed at this hotel, location is fantastic, it was easy to find a parking space. Check-in and check-out was very smooth and staff were all friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Our room faces the front and the view was brilliant. Only one issue: the sauna wasn't hot enough (just reached 50 degree) so wasted time to spend an hour there not enjoyed much. Still definitely will rebook this hotel again.
Not worth for the basic price.
There is a piece of dried poop sticking in the lower edge of the toilet seat, the cleaner definitely didnt clean properly Booked a room with sofa bed but when i ask them the staffs did not have any notice from hotel.com, thats the second time i run into this situation with hotels i booked through hotel com. But they gave me an extra bed at the end. Swimming pool is very small nothing as nice as the picture. It is freezing cold and sauna is only50degree, gym only haveless than 10 equipments less than basic. Would have spend my time at a hotel without swimming pool. pay for the slightly expensive price for the very basic hotel room. Id say thisis just a 3 stars hotel.
the property has good location, the room is confortable
Happy kids - happy parents
Room exactly as described. All the staff were very friendly and interacted with our young children in a fantastic way. Happy kids… happy parents. Thank you
I
Super friendly, helpful staff
Family stay 1 night
Great check in process, decent sized room with comfortable bed. We did need to request more pillows. There was a glass and empty bottle that did not belong to us under the main bed. Dust down the sides of the fridge. Pool was lovely, clean and great to have towels and changing facilities on hand. Close to underground station too. Will stay there again.
Just had a lovey stay thank you
Excellent hotel, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were so nice, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent food. Rooms had every thing required
Good location, good breakfast. The pool is not heated
A lovely Hotel
Check-in was speedy and informative. Reina was efficient, friendly and informative. fit-out in the room was recent. bed very comfortable, water provided. just what you need along with useful location, for a short business-related stay.
