At first I put a very damaging review which was truthful due to poor cleanliness, dirty facilities, annoying staff and traffic noise. I changed my review to good due to an excellent refund policy which several hotels do not honor. So thank you for your service!
I killed three bugs in my room and it was noisy at night. The place itself was not in good condition. The bed was okay and they had some household goods available in the room. I would not stay here again.
Starting finding insects in the room
ok
There was a very strong air freshener that would not let me sleep. I think is very strong because is meant to cover other smell. It must be in the air conditioner because when I first entered the room I could smell something else like food maybe... Also the room was smaller than what it look in pictures. But the bed and linen where nice.
Due to no parking space we struggle a lot. We had to park our car outside on street and i have to wake up early in the morning to move my car from there. I booked in with parking but haven’t got it. Heater was not too good due to that it was freezing night.
Booked a room didn't tell me. Till I got there they told me it's a bunk room
Everything is good. I am definitely coming back.
Twin room review
The receptionist was super helpful and really nice! Overall the room was great and we had a lovely stay. Would come here again.
Rooms had rips in the walls and shower didn’t drain well. Also pigeons tried to come in room while door was open
The service was disappointing. I requested room servicing, but the carpet wasn't vacuumed.
Close to shopping malls
Nice place to stay
Room not clean
Nice kitchen ,fridge and microwave in the room 2 members of staff were really nice and professional My room :broken bathroom and squicky door Bathroom sewerage smell from the small drains Cigarette smell in the corridor A hole in the bathroom ceiling Window seals thick layer of dirt (not sure when they were last cleaned ) No wardrobe for clothes Room very small for 2 people Not enough bench tops in the room Just one chair for 2 people Water flowing to the toilet space during shower ,and no equipment to dry it after shower (was a true shock to my system ) I COULDN'T BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF BED BUGS IN THE ROOM ,WE HAD TO GO TO THE CHEMIST TO BUY SOME REPELLENT AND ANTIHISTAMINES ..WE HAD FRESH BITES EVERY NIGHT ...WHY IN A HOTEL I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED . There is so much traffic noise ,i could only sleep a few minutes ,then wake up with the traffic noise ...someone should have thought of installing sound proof in the walls of the building .
We had a very pleasant stay, rooms were clean and staff were very nice. But foul smell coming from bathroom drain just kept the door shut didn’t bother us to much
Property said that it was convenient for airport accomodation - it was noisiest place I’ve ever stayed it was not convenient for the airport we got no sleep due to the noise outside and the windows having no noise cancellation - the place stunk like weed and drugs. Our room looked like it was broken into- I know it’s cheap but I would’ve stayed in a hostel over this place - just don’t.
Nice stay overall
Good stay overall
Small, but had everything you need.
The room was clean & had everything we needed for a one night stay. Good value.
Property was clean, close to shops and restaurants and staff were helpful.
We have stayed twice now first time was great but this time I had called reception for the loud music being played I wouldnt mind normally but it was after 10pm.(Possibly a sign at reception no loud music after 10pm) The other concern is the parking spaces 4,5,6, is difficult to get in and out of when there are cars parked in spaces in front of them.
The room was clean and comfortable. Loved the free cot that was one less thing to pack.
Less parking, congested room,No wine glasses in room
Excellent location. Easy access to motorways and shops etc. Parking available but phone first to confirm. Older hotel. Fairly priced. Nice staff. Recommended budget choice.
Overall good experience :)
Had a pleasant stay beds were great and comfortable, everything was great for my quick stay and great prices ,will stay again
Nice and cosy exllient customer service.
Great place. Allowed late check in which was awesome. Parking available too
Place is clean and receptionist are good
Great location, walk to Westfield mall. Terrible musty smell in the room couldn’t get rid of with windows open etc. Beds clean but bathroom needed a good upgrade.
Overall clean and nice.
👍
No thanks
Room was pleasant for the price. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent value for money. Clean room, easy check in and check out, convenient access to Westfield Newmarket shopping and restaurants.
Cheap and somewhat cheerful
There was mould under the window. And the windows were difficult to secure shut. Room was a bit run down and tired. But for the price was fine for a one night stay
The only thing I can say is that the large bin container at the back was picked up at 1am. There was a lot of slamming and men shouting. It woke me up and I had a hard time getting back to sleep, bearing in mind I have to get up at 4.30am. Can these not be picked up during the day, or at a time when people are still awake?
Good
Staff were friendly and helpful, but the room needs some attention, holes in walls, kitchen tap was loose
Had to get water from the bathroom, very unhygienic, a water bottle in the room would have been better. Room was very small and had cockroaches crawling up the walls. Bed was clean and comfortable though. Noise from the street was loud despite being on the 3rd floor. Shower hose sprayed every where from a leaky hose fitting.
Great place to stay and was near everything. Staff was excellent and looked after us.
We've stayed here before and like its location at the end of Broadway in Newmarket, very handy. Comfortable rooms and pleasant staff. (Paid) off-street parking and lots of buses pass by. Short walk to the Westfield Newmarket Mall.
Close to everything, smallish rooms but didnt plan to spend much time in it anyway, clean, tidy, little patio outside the room which was very private and had a table and chairs, bedding clean as well as towels, flannels or face cloths would be a nice addition.
Great place for the pricing. I stayed in a studio. Clean and had alll i needed
.
Very dusty in the room, mould around the windows
They want $300 cash deposit. Travellers with debit card can't check in.
Was a great price deal room was really small but had everything you needed aircon toilet shower refrigerator microwave TV bed was comfortable parking was a reasonable price $15 per night will stay again
The property was very basic. Not much room in the bedroom and could hear the traffic noise. No glasses in the bathroom only 2 coffee cups. Had to pay $15 for parking. Won’t stay here again
Good location!
The room was clean enough, but tiny. Had I been travelling with my partner we would have struggled for space. The shower flooded the entire bathroom floor, there was no hairdryer either. The noise from traffic outside was almost unbearable; the lack of double-glazing meant the sound was as loud as sitting outside. The road outside is busy and the traffic was relentless.
The receptionist did a good Support. The house is exactly what i expected for the payed price.
Room was very small and not tidy. Bathroom was filthy. Had a jug but no cups or tea. Had to ask for everything
Friendly, helpful staff. Just what we needed for the weekend. Room is fairly basic with a bed, tv, fridge, jug and ensuite. Putting the tv on the wall would allow more space. Windows could do with being tinted, as people on double-decker bus' can see right in (double glazing would block traffic noise).
Good value.
An old hotel but very practical, clean and most satisfactory. Serves the purpose very well. Convenient location in the suburbs. No disappointments
Rooms were nice and clean and had air conditioning. The window was thin and could hear the traffic outside a bit of mold in that area. Bed was great and bathroom was modernised and clean. Toiletries were nice and plenty of coffee and tea facilities. Microwave to heat up foods.
Check in was easy and the staff helpful etc. Unfortunately our room had more than a few cockraches that we discovered when we got back from the P!nk concert at 11pm. I hardly slept because of this and when we got up at 6am (to get to the airport) again there were cockroaches in the sink and on the walls etc. The place was a handy location but needs to be fumigated.
Noisy with traffic, had no car parks available and closest parking is 1.0km away! Staff were very helpful.
I was disappointed to have to pay so much more just to park my car in their car park. I understand this is the way of the city and it discourages me from visiting the city more often.
Honestly the cleanest hostel I’ve stayed in. Very quiet, very nice, only a mild smoke smell.
Clean but unfriendly
The room was clean and comfortable however we were disappointed with the attitude of the men on reception. The may advertise ‘parking available’ but the parking is o lot available if you pay $15 per day, alternatively there are public parks down the road for cheaper
I stayed in the dorm room. It was fine for a night! The beds are very bouncy though, every time I moved it felt like I was on a water bed. I liked the curtains to make the beds private and cosy. I don’t think there is a kitchen space for those needing to use the dorm rooms. Having an en-suite was great. Would be good to have a fridge in the dorm room. There is a kettle but nowhere to store milk. I would stay here again though-it was very clean and in a good location.
Very comfortable
Very hot day and i was pleasantly surprised to find the aircon turned on in my room very much appreciated. Room very clean and bed and pillows super comfortable.
the kitchen facility was poorly equipped, no plates or bowls, no glasses or cups, no cutlery or utensils, saw roaches
Great room for the price. Handy location and friendly staff. Carparking was a bonus
I enjoyed my stay. I really like my room and the bathroom. I paper cup would have been handy with the electric jug. I will come and stay again if in Auckland
Clean and tidy, small space, service ok
on booking did not say 15.00 for parking
Very efficient and caring customer service which indeed is the best deed that makes any customer return to the place again.
Lovely staff but the rooms were very hot to sleep in even with the provided fan. And i noticed black mould on the walls behind the curtains as well as bad condensation on the windows. Good value though.
The staff were really helpful and polite, but it doesn’t make up for the incredibly off-putting atmosphere. When we arrived, two cops were searching for someone and it clearly made the receptionist uncomfortable. He obviously didn’t know how to handle the situation and could’ve used a lot of help. The cops were eventually let in. The kitchen is severely under stocked to the point of being unusable. The couch in the lobby smelled like vomit. The hallways smelled like cigarettes. People were yelling all night and I felt like I had to barricade my door. It didn’t feel safe, the walls were covered in scrapes and dents, the headboard was broken, and the bed wasn’t even a full bed. It was two small beds pushed together. I’m sure the staff are underpaid so I don’t blame them for anything. But the environment itself is pretty bad.
The room size was small
Lovely customer service. Simple check in process. Convenient location for what we needed.
Was fine for the price (:
No parking and no sleep
We arrived at the property and was told that there was no place to park our car at the property. We were told that we would have to park on the road. There was no where to park close to the property as the road outside was yellow lined. We found this to be totally inacceptable.
The quality of the room was excellent, particularly for the price. The staff were friendly and really helpful. They allowed us to check in a little early and offered us the use of umbrellas because of the rain outside. Overall I was extremely happy with our stay and would highly recommend to anyone to stay at No: 9, and would happily stay there again. Thank you so much!
Was OK
Adequate
Windows were single pane and did not provide a good seal so outside noice (including a cherry picker crane operating at 7am outside the building meant an early wakeup call and no chance of getting back to sleep. The 'kitchenette' was just a fridge and microwave squished into the corner. No plates, bowls, knives or forks. The room was tidy and looked to have had a recent renovation and for the price you get reasonable value overall.
Cleanliness
I paid the reguired amount for a parking area only to have two dents put in my car by children playing with a ball in the parking area.
Vary close to very large shopping. Complex and bus services
the kitchen was like a storage room and the entry area was not very stylish. but the room was good!
Lift does not work and I have to take my luggage to 3rd floor. No water in hotel, very disappointing over all.
Comfortable over luxury!!
Ive stayed here before during covid and last year I left the hotel and 3months later i came back because the beds are so comfortable, clean rooms and its convenient for me to get to work (Pakuranga) from here also the house keepers everyday they replace clean towels bath mat and a hand towel also if you need condiments " 😁👍Annie the receptionist ✨️👍the best🥰at her job
Better than expected!
Did not know it was going to be hostel like, cages under beds for belongings, 1 towel between 3 guests, was told we had a kitchen, but it was just an electric jug....no cups, utensils, fridge, or bench, had a hair dryer in cupboard, but it didn't work, staff were incredibly basic, very strong cooking smells throughout complex, visiting cockroach on the wall beside the bed, however all in all provided a lot of laughs and life experience for the one night, can be sure we will book elsewhere next time tho
Quite and comfortable
We had a great stay for 2 nights and the room was comfortable, warm and safe. We did notice a very bad smell in the hallway both days and we mentioned it to the door staff. The smell was temporary covered up with an air freshener but was still there in the morning
Love this property
When I booked through wotif I made sure there was parking with the room. I rang the hotel to let them no we would be late and asked about parking & were told they would see what they would do? I explained when we booked it said parking as we had to leave at 6pm for the airport. When we arrived we were then asked to pay $15 for parking
was amazing
So some of the rooms are pretty warm due to the windows catching all the sun to the room, there is an heatpump in the room but can only do heating, ive talked to the staff and he said they can change the heatpump to provide cooling but that would change all the settings of the entire floor into heating, which means u dont really have a choice but to either bare the cold or heat. Tried the fan setting but didnt make a difference, i opened the window to let cool air in but the noise(being next to a busy street) is unbearable and impossible to sleep at night. The room is small but is well presented, its clean and doesnt look old. The main door on the floor bangs so loud when someone goes in.
Not a bad place to stay just for a few nights. The aircon unit only blew warm air which meant we had to open the windows. This let in a lot of street noise. The shower is not sealed properly so water flows out all over the bathroom floor. The bed was super comfy which was a plus. The fact that you have to reserve and pay for parking was not well advertised for this hotel.
Basic, no fuss stay. Room was as pictured on website and very clean. Note is on main road with single glazing- would ask for room on other side of building next time. Great value for money
The room was quite good. Comfortable bed and clean. We felt our car was not safe even though it was parked off the street. The position of the property was great as we were able to walk to westfield for dinner and that was very enjoyable
Perfectly adequate for my needs, as I needed a place to sleep while in town for work. The convenient laundry room and access to public transport helped to make the experience very pleasant. My room was cleaned regularly and staff were helpful when asked. It’s a 7 minute walk to the Westfield, which is the main hub for transport and food choices in the area.
Clean & comfortable but very noisy from road traffic & very limited parking

Everything, only down side is the room was not service daily. At times when you run out of bathroom supplies you had to wait till next morning.
