The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The property was located at a convient location which is close to mall and lots of good restaurants. The only suggestion is to have more seats and spaces for guests in the lobby instead of taking spaces for selling local products. Overall with such a reasonable price, I would highly recommend this hotel.
I like the location, close to One Nimman. Many eateries nearby. I like the free breakfast offered at hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms need an update.
Very good stay! Enjoyed my time very much!
It was a nice hotel but limited breakfast cool room
Stayed for 5 nights. Overall good cleanliness, friendly staff and accessible location
i stayed 2 nights(cocoon type). cuz near airport, sounds noisy engine, however didnt mind. There were small fling insects. i stayed comfortbly. i will back in near future:)
Good
Wonderful front desk staff; always kind and helpful. Thank you to management / housekeeping for providing a sweet anniversary decoration! Room was spacious and clean. Daily breakfast service was decent. Free parking. Near the mall & lots of eateries. Initially we booked the “Couple Mai” but didn’t realize it was tub only. Luckily, front desk was efficient and moved us to another room with a shower. We enjoyed our stay here & definitely would recommend based on the great service :)
The staff at this hotel are very friendly and helpful. The service, cleanliness, comfort, and general condition of the hotel are good. However, there is insufficient soundproofing to prevent the loud noise of overhead aircraft.
Very friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent.
It's very difficult to impossible to control the temperature of the shower. Otherwise, we are very happy and comfortable here.
Clean room, great location. Only A/C has too much noise
good
Very good location. Easy excess. 24 hrs. Reception
Good service good Breakfast good location ,staff ok, room ok
Nice stay good location
The staff was very nice.breakfast starts at 7am and wehada tour starting at 6.30 am.so they prepared the whole breakfast for 6am-just because of us!very very nice!thank you!very helpful staff!
Love for good service, nice place nice designed. Nice staff. Perfect breakfast. Clean room. I will be back and hardly recommend.
Nimmana Mai is located conveniently close to lots of shopping and restaurants. The staff are extremely friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast allows for a good start to the day.
The location of The hotel is so near to everything, just 10-15mins walk to Maya shopping centre. There are also really cute cafes near the hotel plus a really busy local food resturant that serves super yummy chicken. Its also near 7-11s and a Tesco and many massage palours on the streets just outside the hotel. The hotel staff was really efficient and nice, they even did a check for us tk see if we left anything behind when we checked out.
The design and architecture is nothing compared! Wonderful staff
Nice place in great location to main nim rd area...
Nice and clean , great location , staff friendly. Good breakfast
The location was great. The stagg were all friendly amd helpful. The restaurant fornbfast qas severly understaffed on oir first bfast there. The food was okay but i wish they had some options aparr from the ham and sausage that were not spicy.
Nice hotel ! Nice breakfast ! This hotel has a lot of style ! I love it : )
Basic hotel in Nimman
Location is great to explore the Nimman area. Hotel staff is pleasant. Rooms feel a little dated though still liveable. It will be good if they improve on upkeeping the hotel better.
My Family & I @ Chiang Mai
Again stay at this lovely hotel that has different designs for each floor. This hotel has a good location and few meters away from the main road where you can find many restaurants and shops. You can enjoy a massage therapy for a while, too. Maya Mall around 5 mins walking and can enjoy shopping or dinning. The hotel overall is a nice place to stay at if you don’t mind airplanes noises all day long but at night definitely was able to sleep with comfy!
5 stars
Perfect stay. Great hotel. Clean, good location, great breakfast.
Really great stay
Really nice hotel. Centrally located on the hip nimman street. Clean and big rooms with a nice decor. Shower was good and clean bathrooms. Very friendly hotel staff and amazing breakfast
Other than very spotty WiFi this place was great. Super friendly staff. The chicken place down the road is fantastic.
Great location. The staff is really friendly and healpfull.
My fd all stay ard the same area, a bit old, just clean n tidy, lots of other new hotel choices ard that area
Excellent hotel.
Very good hotel. The silk cocoon room is awesome with a Japanese feel and reasonable price. Great location in the heart of nimmanheinmin.
Great place.
3d2n stay
Good service overall, they also allowed me to check in early without any additional fee. The sound proofing of the room is bad thought, I can hear voices from adjacent room when they speak due to the connecting door.
Only one complaint.
Loved this hotel. The only issue was the WiFi in the rooms was useless. We stayed in two different rooms and floors; same problem. Lobby WiFi worked well.
Good hotel
Good location,by walking just 5 minutes to Maya and Think Park ! Lot of eating shop nearby ! Good service and great helpful staffs. The room is very clean and comfortable!
Very nice hotel, lovely staff - if you are staying in Nimman it is in a great spot
Great location but mediocre rooms
If you are looking for good location then you have it with this hotel. The room was a bit tired and I had to move to another room the second day because my neighbor kept banging on the connecting door where the room was even more worn out. I thought it was interesting that they had 2 different categories for bed type but when we arrived we didn't get the king bed that we had booked.
10 days there
posted at the beginning and now the end of our stay, like i said in earlier review, have no idea why any neg, the staff at this hotel, i had no problems with communication there at all, they helped us with our tours, they told us about festivals around town, clean- no problems, i am one for saving towels for use, i tried and they changed, everything was clean, perfect location, breakfast buffet, omg coffee is AWESOME. its walking distance to so much. pool there is not a swimming, its a wading, its not warmed, but you will not find a hotel with a heated pool, this is the norm..if you want that go to Phuket, we never had time to sit at pool but great to sit at night and have coffee and relax. safety, well in all of Chiang mai, no safety issues, the culture makes it safe. hotel staff on 24 hrs, if your 1st time, this hotel will help you with your journey. perfect....
nice stay!
the place is nice, excellent service and amenity, foods was fine, we all had a good time here
Room No lock on bathroom door. Very difficult to open and close. Poor wifi signal Aircon too loud. Staff Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast OK. Jacuzzi pool Very cold and soiled with plastic bags washed in from outside.
Nice staff and good location
Good location to Maya Mall
The location is great, it's about 5 mins walk to Maya Mall. I stayed 5 nights. There are many choices of restaurants along Nimmanmai. The hotel serve simple breakfast but I don't mind. Overall, i am happy with the hotel.
Nice people, but the place could be improved
Our room was smelly and dirty (with dust on the floor and even ants walking on the wall!!!), then they give us another room which was a bit better but still not clean. Though the stay was not really pleasant, the staff were nice and helpful. When we left the hotel in a rush to catch the plane, a staff and the guard ride the motorcycle to the busy main street and find a taxi for us, very impressive:)
Good location
Don't bring a swimsuit. The pool is more like a big fish pond. Breakfasts were very good. Wonderful, friendly staff and very helpful. We stayed a week and would probably stay there again.
Convenient access to place of interest.
No room phone available. Wifi breakdown for 1/2day. Moreover, TV seen to malfunction during last day of stayed. Lift was small and requested of roll-over bed for kid need to be charged and expensive (800baht/nite). If you are looking for class or executive. It may not be the right choice. More like 3.5 stars hotel. The good thumb was the place is convenient and staff is friendly. Hotel new and clean.
Nice Hotel Near with good food and shopping nearby
The hotel is located very close to the Maya Shopping Center. At the same time, once you are at the main roads, there are plenty of eateries, small boutiques, massage around. There is a massage along the same street where the hotel is located that opens till 12 am (most other open till 10pm). However, the hotel is located at around 100 metres along the street inwards from the main road. Traveling at night through this street may seem a little more risky but the presence of a cafe at the entry point of the road ensured that there are people around and act as a deterrence against crime. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and polite. Rooms were generally clean and bedding was outstanding, giving u the comfort for rest u need. Breakfast provided was average. The flush in the toilet is not that strong but does the job either way. Water temperature in shower is a little harder to control but haven't had the case where u ran out of hot water.
Great boutique hotel
Excellent, design boutique hotel in one of Chiang Mai's hippest neighborhoods. The rooms were large and well furnished. Clean. The staff was uniformly helpful and friendly.
Nimman Mai?
It is really a hotel with a ? Researched online and decided on this hotel but when I checked in, there are a few points that made me really uncomfortable. 1) Bathroom is really dirty and old with rusty equipments. 2) Floor is dusty with hairs all around. 3) Towels are old and with stains. 4) Shower hot and cold water knob are reversed. Initially there were no hot water until i called for technicians to repair. 5) Aircon noise is quite unbearable.
Nice hotel with good sleep
Bed was good, breakfast is OK for the price you pay. The hotel is off the main road so you will get a nice quiet sleep. The hotel has no gym. There is only 1 elevator/lift. Staff friendly. Easy checking in. Everything in the Minibar was free at that time. I stayed on the 8th floor so really quiet. Stay away from the lift is better.
Convenient hotel
Overall satisfy
A place to enjoy:)
Very comfortable and the staff very friendly. Helpful and breakfast was great!!
Excellent service, clean hotel, nice price.
Quiet and Simple Boutique Hotel
Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but tasty.
The Stuff is really helpful and friendly!
Overall is a very nice hotel, just a little bit distance from connivence store and MAYA mall, but you can always rent a bike or their Taxi there or walk about like 700-1KM to 7-11 or MAYA mall for eating or shopping.
Warm welcome and assistance with activities.
The front office manager is great at making you feel welcome and organising tours and information. The room was ok not particularly practical with no hot water in the basin and no way to fill the basin. The hotel is near some bars and eating establishments. The breakfast is basic and you can have eggs how you like them. Overall an enjoyable stay.
Near Maya Shopping Centre and a lot of restaurants
Location is good. The room is a bit old and needs repair. Still, it is comfortable. Services are good. Breakfast is small scale and good.
Simple hotel
Great location, easy to walk around. Hotel room was comfortable but bathroom was leaking either at toilet or sink, repair work needed. Hotel breakfast was great, selection of food.
good location nice design hotel and kind staff. Breakfast was very good
Nice
Nice hotel with competitive rate , very good loc at nimman
First time visitor to Chiang Mai
Hotel looks better in pictures than in real life, but staff were pleasant and professional (as one would expect in Thailand). Very friendly staff at the breakfast buffet :)
Wonderful customer service
Lovely hotel to stay at Chiang Mao worhout breaking your bank. The hotel staff went above and beyond goving amazing reccomendations for things to do and helped a lot with transportation and taci services. Breakfast was also good. Hotel beds are very comfy and I loved that each floor of the hotel was a different theme! We stayed on the European floor. Great location on the hip and trendy Nimmen mai which has great cafes and resturants- and its only a quick 10 min taxi ride away from old city
Nice hotel with good service
It's my first time to Chinag Mai and it's a solo trip too, therefore I chosen Nimman Mai Design hotel as its location is good and just take 8-10 mins to Think Park and Maya shopping mall. It also easy to get a tuk tuk or Sawngthaew to go everywhere you want. There're few resturants and massage shop nearby hotel, it was good! Btw, staffs were friendly and helpful, especially their manager Lynn, much appreciated her great help and personal sharing, i found a great cafe to enjoy my last day in Chinag mai.
Great boutique hotel in a trendy area
We had a very pleasing stay at this hotel. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to help us. It is in the trendy Nimman area which has lots of great places to eat, shop, and get massages, plus it feels less touristy then other sections of the city. It was about a 20 minute walk to the old city from here, or a short songthaew or tuk tuk ride away. The only thing to be aware of is that the hotel is under a flight path so you do get the occasional plane flying overhead. Luckily there weren't that many planes so it wasn't too much of an issue.
The breakfast was for us the highlight of our stay at this hotel. The food tastes really good with a warm atmosphere.
Nice hotel in a hip part of town
Nimman is a area with lots of restaurants, bars, and interesting shops. The neighbourhood, apart from the main drag, consists of peaceful side streets full of places to eat, drink, and shop. This hotel is on one of those streets. The lobby is small, but stylish, as are the rooms. Bathroom had modern plumbing and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, and the woman overseeing everything was super nice and super helpful. I would easily recommend this hotel.
The hotel is quite clean but their service and b'fast is not so great. B'fast is not so many variety.
It's my second time staying in Nimman Mai Design Hotel. Nice location. 2 years later, the hotel is found worn slightly. The hotel should pay more attention on repair and property maintenance.
NICE PLACE
Off the main drag. 7-11 right around the corner. Nice restaurants all over. Air conditioned shopping centers nearby. Lot's of condominiums going up so the area is getting gentrified. Hotel has a decent breakfast.
Great honeymoon stay at Nimman Mai Hotel.
We had a great experience staying at Nimman Mai Design Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located along the NimmanHaemin road, with many great restaurants and shops in the vicinity. Its just a few minutes walk to the Maya shopping mall, and about 10minutes drive to the Pae Gate (old town). We had enjoyed our stay there, special thanks to the Hotel Manager, Lynn. She is very helpful and always around attending to her guests. She gave us the area map and guided us on how to get around to different markets. We stayed on the 7th floor which has a beautiful tribal theme (the rooms in each floor has a different theme). We specially enjoyed the motor-bicycle experience, riding around the town looking for paintings and great food.
Gorgeous little hotel
This is a lovely little hotel with a fantastic concierge and very comfortable beds. It's in a trendy area of town, but I gave the location 4 stars as we preferred to be nearer the old city. They have a very small indoor swimming pool, and I wanted to lie in the sun so that was a disappointment. Otherwise gorgeous, helpful staff, great attention to detail, good breakfast included. Highly recommended.
Never be again
Room was so small and very dirty. Full of dust. Breakfast is poor.
The Hotel Guest service manager is particulary nice. However the water supply in our bathroom is strangely erratic, wishing from hot to cold and vice versa. Need to constantly adjust. Overall is a good stay.
Morning buffet was very good!
Best hotel in Thailand!
I spent 17 days traveling all over Thailand, and out of all the hotels, this was by far the best! And cheapest! It cost $32 dollars a night with breakfast buffet included. The food was delicious, full service with egg station, waffle station, and so much more. Every floor has a different style room and it was a nice surprise to see what we would get. The bed was the most comfortable out of all the hotels we stayed in ( and some hotels we stayed in were over $200 and not nearly as good) The best part was the customer service. The woman who attended us previously worked at a 5 start hotel and she even though this isn't a 5 start hotel, it sure felt like it. All staff were amazing! They helped us plan tours that turned out to be the best part of our trip. Do not miss going to an elephant sanctuary, it is unforgettable - but not a place that is inhumane and let you ride them (they drug them and beat them) So nice. The location was excellent too, down the street was popping with bars, restaurants, a huge indoor shopping center, night club, and lots of cheap massage places. Whether traveling with friends or family this place is a gem. Will defiantly be recommending, and coming back here in my next visit to Chiang Mai.
Excellent location and marketing with cheap quality of building material and facilities. The Super lady concierge is working very hard to make everybody happy. She should get extra pay for the work she is doing !
Good Hotel, Great Staff
Staff were so nice, always happy to help. Hotel in a safe area. Breakfast had a good variety. Room large and comfortable. Pool (spa really) very cold as kind of indoors but nice after a hot day out. Self serve laundry next door. Food and drinks two minute walk.
feels like your at school
Located in a quiet street about 50m from the Main Street the hotel is clean trendy and well appointed. I have no proem with anything to do with the hotel it's decor, which is very nice indeed, or its overall ambiance. The problem is the service and the rules. I arrived with 3 Suitcases and had to wait 2 hrs to check in, no problem, really I was able to leave my luggage and go for a walk. Came back at the required time to be told I could not check in for anothe 30 mins, after a little complaining, I was shown to my room immediately. Why? The room was obviously ready? No porter, so the little receptionist struggled to take my luggage, so I intervened and til it my self. Only one elevator, very small. Rooms are great but badly thought out. Only one light switch on one side of the bed? In fact all the light switches are in irregular places. Lastly, there are signs everywhere of what you can't do, can't do this can't do that, don't do this don't do that. It's lovely little hotel, but poor service and lack of thought made it a poor experience. It's a hotel not a school.
Nice hotel with good employees
Good hotel, we feel that a architect made it, good service, just a little remark: in the lobby there is a bar with bottes of wine but it's a fake bar, no wine no beers ...better to change that
small comfortable hotel
This small hotel has a very good location near Nimmanheim Road. The bed was very soft and was the best one we had on our trip. There are wear and tear spots in the room which can be improved like the cabinets and scratches on the tables.
Cleanliness needs to be met.
A Lovely boutique hotel, good location, very friendly and helpful staff. We were happy staying at the hotel BUT the downside that really disappointed us was the cleanliness of the hotel. We found thick dust in the bedroom, the restaurant and reception areas. The public restrooms were pretty dirty with stains and water leaked. We would have give a 5 star for our experience only if it was a bit cleaner - sorry guys to say this :-( The breakfast buffet choices waere a little boring with the same things serving everydays. It would have been nicer to have more variety of food and changing the menu sometimes. Just a suggestion though.
Average hotel... Last visit
Room looks trendy yes... Design theme in mind... but short of practical use. Bed soft and squeaky. Breakfast average but good enough to fill. Shower area impractical. Please be clear on correct definition of what is meant by "lost and damaged items"! Housekeeping didn't replenish coffee, toilet rolls and bath robes... for whatever reason. Last visit for sure!
good price and great location
good locations and safe to get around even at night time. hotel room condition is a bit damaged but clean. Front desk staffs always helpful and good english.
Comfortable bed, good location!
This is my 3rd stay at this hotel. Staffs were very helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable. Hotel is located in the small street, about 3 mins walk from main Nimman road. It's also in walking distance to new shopping mall.
Great little gem
This was my first time to Chiang Mai and after browsing Trip Advisor, I stumbled upon Nimman Mai Design Hotel and I'm glad I did! The price was excellent for the value, it was conveniently located and offered a great breakfast! Some of the bathroom parts seemed to not be 100% (rainshower head seemed to have leaked badly on the ceiling so there was warping and water damage. When you would turn it on, it woul dleak from the edges and go everywhere), but the room was very comfortable.
Nice & Clean Hotel
The staff was attentive & helpful. Value for money.
Super cute
The rooms were adorable and the staff was extremely helpful. They made sure we knew where we were going and made sure to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms were clean and the decor cute. Each room had a theme. Complimentary breakfast was not the best, but it was complimentary so I do not see that as a huge problem. The hotel is right off ones in street that has tons of bars cafés restaurants and food stalls so this was not a big problem.
Good hotel for cheap price.
The hotel is clean, friendly staff. Room is also quite large. The hotel location is also good, near department store. Overall, I enjoy my stay in this hotel.
Near to hotel
Bathroom is considerably small. Not all amenities are provided. Hotel location is near Infinity Club. Near to airport, thus save time to travel on the last day to airport but not so on other days as is not centrally located. Cleanliness is there. Generally a good hotel for the last day if you do not have much travelling scheduled on the last day.
Facilities: Modern; Value: Great deal; Service: Outstanding, Super friendly staff; Walking distance to everything and a short red bus ride to everywhere else, off the main stip but close enough to wander home at night. Great staff
Highly recommended
There's lots of things to do and to see around this area. Plenty of pubs, restaurants, salon etc. Hotel is clean and new and relaxing. Staff are polite.
Not Near Night Bazaar
Hotels.com listed this hotel as 0.4 kilometers from the Night Bazaar, so I booked the Nimman Mai Hotel. However, the hotel is actually more than 7 kilometers from the hotel.
Value boutique hotel
Although the hotel looks quite new. Maintenance is not up to the standard. Glasses around the lobby, elevator, etc. not clean. LIght bulb borken andcurtain falling down not fixed before we checked in. Bath tub for bathroom not practical. Breakfast not so good, and service personnel in the dinning room not quite pleasant.
Perfect boutique hotel
The staffs are friendly and having a customer centricity.
Good location:
The room I stayed in got no cable TV only can view Thai channel Warm water in bathroom was inconsistent
Ok condition
The reception was nice to take care of us. I was pretty okay with breakfast too. They have American style breakfast and have some thai dishes. But staff without reception, they don't speak english. When the roon service comes, I said I want to do an hour later. They seems to understand what I said. But when I came back they didn't make the bed.
Design Hotel Lover
The room was nicely decorate. The hotel is in great location. The only pitfall is a stinky smell in the washroom. Overall, this hotel is good.
Nice boutique hotel
Our initial booking was for two nights after which we moved on to a different city for our third night and then back to the Nimman Mai Design hotel for one more night. If we hadn't prepaid for our booking, we would have cancelled our reservation and chosen a different hotel to stay at for our return to Chiang Mai. The staff were charming, courteous and helpful but the lack of maintenance and the hotel's location diminished its appeal. On the subject of maintenance: the rooms were a nice size with two air conditioners; however, one air conditioner was on the wall pointed at the bed. Despite trying different adjustments to the fan speed and direction, we either had to cope with the a/c blowing directly on us while in bed or shut the a/c off and relying instead on the 2nd a/c for room comfort. Both rooms (808 and 807) need repairs to the plumbing. Both rooms also had small desk lamps that couldn't be plugged in because the plug prongs did not match the electrical outlet. The in-room printed material indicated that one could get juices, wines, smoothies and cocktails at the lobby refreshment area. Wine was only available by the bottle. There are limited shops and restaurants nearby. Because of our early checkout time, we asked for breakfast boxes to be prepared. It consisted of two pieces of toasted bread, two patties of butter, 2 pieces of sliced watermelon and 3 pieces of papaya each - no knives and no napkins.
