Wunderbar Berlin Elsie Trip

The NH Collection Berlin Mitte was the perfect place for us.Central ,close to many amenities,restaurants and sights for typical toursist. I am 75,so shorter walks required Close to the Admiralspalast theatre where my friend was performing Musical Theatre "Grease"

A perfect stay, friendly staff, very clean, comfortable bed, really great breakfast buffet options right in the heart of Berling. Excellent transport links

The hotel was fantastic, the first impression you get when you walk in is a lovely smell and that continues through out the hotel. The staff where fantastic and very friendly. Highlly recommended would definitely be back

Hotel couldn’t find our reference and made us stand around for 30mins, they blamed Hotel.com for not send the ref, we finally got our room at 4pm Hotel.com did not help on this occasion

It was an excellent stay. All were good . Will stay there the nxt time.

Shopping area around the hotel is wonderful and there are plenty of great dining places. Rooms are very clean but the main road is quite noisy especially for the trains and traffics. Thus, I requested a new room and the staff helped me with pleasure. Transportation is very comfortable.

Did what it said 'on the tin'

From start to finish the stay was very good. The descriptions were fine and I have no cause to complain. The decor is not really my style but it was perfectly acceptable. Location was great, right next to the train station (the reason I chose it). Is it my favourite hotel in Berlin? - no but it is just a personal thing.I've definitely stayed in worse so if you can get a good price then you will be Ok here.

Excellent stay, the hotel is beautiful and immaculate, all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was spacious comfortable and extremely clean. The hotel is in an ideal location, opposite the train station and surrounded by shops, the area felt very safe, easy train journey from the airport, I’ll definitely return

The rooms are average, though clean. My issue is the horridly strong terrible perfume they pump into the entrance and basically whole common area on the first floor. It’s truly nauseating.

Only 1 min walk from Friedrichstrasse train station. Warm welcome and swift check in. Amazing room - definitely worth another couple of £s to upgrade from standard to large room. Lovely sauna facility. Everywhere was spotless. Enormous choice for breakfast. Easy to get everywhere by walking or via public transport. Nice secure hotel. Everything was fabulous and I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Breakfast!!!

Hotel and rooms spotless and staff helpful and polite. Fantastic location for sight seeing, plenty of restaurants and shops close to the hotel. Only down side was the train tracks below our room but this would not stop me rebooking in the future .

Check in was fast since information was given before I arrived. Further information was explained by the staff such as the Hotel Property Tax. Room was kept clean everyday. Breakfast was the same everyday, salad, breads, fruits etc. The refrigerator in my room was working. Location was good as the metro station (S-Bahn) is very near the Hotel and Tram car and U-Bahn is Infront of it. There are many bakery shops around and also a supermarket nearby.

Good and Comfortable

Excellent facility. If anything, for a 4-star hotel, I would expect a full restaurant. It has an informal cafeteria open for breakfast and lunch, that doubles up as a dining area at night. Other than that, excellent facility and staff.

Very conveniently located.The convenience of the location compensates well for the room size. Room was quite small for the price. Reception staff was not the most welcoming , friendly or accommodative.

Perfect area for shopping; sightseeing. Very convenient. Tram, train, subway were all nearby. Breakfast was perfect. Will definitely stay again if we return to Berlin. Quick service on request like our request for slippers.

Clean, big rooms, located within a few steps away from the subway and the museums. The bed is really good and it has blackout curtains.

There was a lot of miscommunication regarding the number of beds I needed which then created a situation where I had to change rooms everyday. I didn’t try the restaurant or bar. There is a Starbucks directly below the hotel. Train station is convenient.

Great location, Excellent room. Definitely would came back

Location, location, location! The property is literally adjacent to the Friedrichstraße train station where you can get to many attractions easily. In fact, most attractions are 1-3 stops away and the Berlin HBF is only 1 stop away. The bus/tram stop is also right outside the hotel door. There are restaurants, coffee shops and other conveniences across the street. We bought a 72 hour train/bus pass and went everywhere using public transportation. Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenbug Gate, Holocaust Memorial, the Reichstag, and Museum Island are all close by. The hotel bar is a nice spot to wind down at the end of the day, and it has free popcorn. The staff is pleasant and eager to please. The rooms are big for European standards. We stayed for 3 nights and very happy with choosing this hotel.

Staff was very friendly, our room wasn’t ready at checkin, staff offered drink vouchers thought that was a nice touch. Our room was spacious and enjoyed the chocolate treats. Location was convenient, access to the train transportation.

Close to the Train

Room was nice but there is a very strong smell of mold coming from the shower/bathroom. Staff was fine and we enjoyed our stay otherwise. Will not stay again due to the moldy smell.

Central location in the Mitte

Nice hotel. Excellent breakfast. Subway and Frederickstasse train stations at your doorstep. Can be noisy but very good soundproofing windows. Easy walk to Museum Island and Brandenburg Gate.

Great Hotel

I spent 4 days in Berlin as part of a European trip. Enjoyed my stay very much. The hotel was great, I particularly enjoyed the location. It was very easy to get anywhere either on foot or via public transportation.

Great stay in Berlin

We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of our holiday. The staff was very friendly, and they spoke English (which helped because we don't speak German!). The hotel was perfectly located across the street from a major train station. Overall, we had a great stay.

Wonderful, centrally located hotel.

We had an excellent stay. Hotel is centrally located. Walking distance to many of the sights we wanted to go to. Lots of restaurants and cafe's nearby. And steps away from the subway/underground station. Very convenient for getting to and from the Airport. Special shout out to Tanja, the wonderful concierge who helped us secure tickets, gave us directions and translated for us. She was knowledgeable, friendly and just delightful.

Location location

The main pro for this hotel is location on friedrichstrabe right next to main train s bann R and metro m1 lines. Aldi and another supermarket and a starbucks and bakery all right outside. Room was spacious (albeit a bad layout) but we had booked a junior suite. Cons: We ordered a junior suite with extra bed & requested a double and a single bed. I checked in online in advance so assumed this would be ready. On arrival were given king room. I asked to change as we had paid extra for a 2nd bed so they made us wait. They then gave us a room with 2 singles pushed together with the same shared sheets/bedding. Considering we paid extra for a 3 person room with either 3 singles or a double and a single meant to be offered I feel they downgraded us with this option. Room had only 1 free bottle of water but we later discovered tap water was drinkable (not well sign posted). I had also asked for a quiet room & despite being on 5th floor there were buskers outside with blaring speakers until after 10pm every night, not the hotels fault but obviously windows were not well insulated as we could hear it at full volume. Room was dusty particularly the bathroom ledges which I would not expect in a 4 star! Also housekeeping a bit lax eg 1st day didnt replace toilet roll, 2nd day didnt replace our bath mat or face cloths theyd taken - I ordered this on the hotels app only to be brought up 2 bathrobes! No recycling bin in room. Overall for a basic room & very good location I would stay again.

Nice hotel in great location. Room was very hot and the A/C wasn’t working. Reported to reception but wasn’t fixed. Not a great nights sleep as a result.

Great no frills hotel. Good location, great breakfast, friendly staff. Everything was as smooth as can be.

Everything was perfect for sightseeing. Close to station, metro, tram, supermarket, cafe and museums. Clean and looks new. The price is affordable. We will be back on our next visit to Berlin.

The two bed situation should have more options as two singles was not comfortable.

Great hotel in a great location.

Receptionist was new staff, but very slow he seemed haven’t get enough training and supporter wasn’t professional enough. Breakfast service got worst than before. They don’t really care about the customer service

Business stay in Berlin

Hotel was excellent, no complaints, staff very friendly and place very clean, good restaurant, again with friendly staff. Only one tiny issue was that the business suite had Macs (I am a PC person), however, the reception staff were keen to help. Good transport links.

Nice hotel, nice staff, not luxurious

Stayed for three nights, 2 rooms, family of 4. Pro’s: This is a nice hotel in a great location, the staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of fresh food, although on the third day the hot food had been put too long and wasn’t hot. Good shower with lots of hot water. Cons: this was one of the more expensive hotels in the city and it was a bit run down, the sinks didn’t drain and left horrible marks, the door stops were broken and not repaired, the room itself was quite cold and despite turning up the thermostat to its highest setting, with temperatures of -5 we struggled to get warm and had to go to bed fully clothed. However the thing that annoyed me is the tea and coffee, each day they would only leave one normal tea bag and two small pots of milk for two people. We received one bottle of water on our first night, but no other days. Whilst it may not seem like much, for the price I would expect them to be slightly more generous with tea/coffee water.

Clean, modern, great location

Staff was nice, helpful, and room service was great and the breakfast was tasty. Staff spoke English well too which is a big plus for us travelers. Everything is close to this hotel, including the Friedrichstraße train station which can take you to any cool part of Berlin you want to go, but it's not really needed as much of the cool things are within walking distance. There's a Rossmannn, which seemed very much like a Walgreens or CVS for those Americans out there, right across the street to get any essentials you want if you need them. Only sort of criticism I have, I guess, is that it should be a bit more clear on who can use the breakfast/restaurant or whatever is downstairs by the lobby. The £24.9 fee you pay for breakfast is for the room service breakfast, not for that restaurant, which has its own fee from my understanding. Again, it's not really a complaint and I'm pretty sure it was explained to me whenever I checked in but I never picked up on it if it was. Definitely staying there again when I come back to Berlin.

Excellent service

Everything good. Clean. Modern. Safe. Beside a train station and very convenient going to airport via train. Only downside is the WIFI. You need to pay for very high speed WiFi access. I didn't upgrade but the speed was ok for YouTube streaming

Top quality hotel at a really convenient location, 1 minute from the transit hub, 2 if you include the pedestrian crossing. The only thing that was of issue over a long stay was the cost of the buffet breakfast €24.90 person. Food was good but just be aware of the price. There are places to eat near buy.

We stayed for two nights and were very impressed with the hotel - the rooms were spacious and well designed, the bathrooms were impeccable and the staff were friendly and helpful. There is a U-Bahn just in front of the door as well as some shops and food options.

Great room and great staff! The available bikes at the hotel are a plus!

A quality hotel in Mitte

Room was (relatively) spacious, updated and clean. Friendly staff. Neighborhood is not the most interesting for tourists but the excellent transit connections (Friedrichstraße U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations) definitely make up for that. Only complaint was that the water temperature in the shower does not stay steady, but not a deal-breaker.

Excellent hotel in Mitte

Well run and maintained hotel. Nice unexpected services such as electric bike hire for a reasonable price. Situated by the main north-south rail route, such that you can hear the trains if you open your window. I didn’t find it intrusive with them closed, but we had an internal-facing room. Extremely central convenient, right by the Friedrichstrasse station, and within walking distance of most major sights.

The location is fantastic, majority of attractions are within walking distance. A few eating options close to the hotel as well. The rooms are spacious and bright etc. I would highly recommend it for families with young kids

2 nights in Berlin

This hotel is very conveniently located near many sites, restaurants and the S-Bahn. The room was clean, fresh and good-sized for our family of 3. My daughters loved the large bath after a long day of walking.

We came from Paris for a vacation within a vacation. We've never been to Berlin sso sort of a shot in the in the dark. Room was great staff was better and location was perfect if you are there for the museums dark. Staff

Great location, excellent facilities. As a hotel with a lot of business traffic, there is an expectation to have adequate charging outlets, good beds and services. This hotel delivered what we needed.

Awesome

One of the best hotels we ever stayed in. The hotel and room were clean and equipped with everything we needed (and more!) for our short stay in Berlin. Highly recommended especially when travelling with children. Kids got a small leaflet with activities to complete around the hotel (take a picture of the room, decorate a pancake at breakfast etc...) and they got a small gift at the end. They loved it. The breakfast is amazing and has something for everyone, from bacon, sausages and omelettes to fresh fruit, yogurt and cakes. The location is also perfect as it is within walking distance of most major attractions and there's a train and metro station right outside, making it easy to visit places further away. There are also a number of good restaurants right next door.

Clean, modern, central location

First- it took nearly 3 hrs to get here from the airport- should’ve been about 30 mins, so not a great start. This hotel is across from the train station but (as someone else mentioned) it is NOT called Tiergarten station…I think that’s why I had a problem initially getting there which included 2 trains and a taxi- ridiculous!! The station is called Berlin FriedrichstraBe- I’ll include pic if possible. Loved the spa area which includes sauna, steam room, foot bath, - cool to be naked with males/ females where everyone is just relaxing- wish it opened before 4pm. Lots of sights to see ‘within walking distance’- I say that in quote because one of the places I walked to was the infamous Victory column which was cool but about a 3.5 mile round trip. All in all a nice place!
