Location, very helpful staff
They let us check in early, carried our bags and were just a great Affordable Hotel. My 15 year old son and myself stayed here and we had a great time and felt safe in and around the hotel. I’d recommend this to any other American looking to go to Egypt.

In overall terms my stay at the Nefertiti Hotel was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. On-site trip organiser and restaurant was an extra bonus. Great view of the Theban Hills from the roof-top. Cons: room was on fourth floor and no lift! Not ideal when you are nearly 70! Room was located next to the restaurant, so very noisy early morning and late nights. Facilities were basic but perfectly adequate.
Excellent location, in front of the Nile River and Luxor temple. Breakfast really good and the rooftop restaurant has good food and servers are really attentive. There is a market where you can buy souvenirs and clothes just a walking distance. The tourist agency at the hotel really convenient, too.
Lovely roof top restaurant, brilliant location. The shower sprays everywhere so the whole bathroom gets wet and the fridge did not work.
Hotel Nefertiti located in the local market which is convenient for soveneir shopping and dinning, but might be overwhelmed for tourists. Property is dated without elevator. However the rooftop restaurant has a great view of the Luxor Temple. Hotel rate is a bargain and you get what you paid for.
The hotel had no water the entire time we were there.
Nice location. Amazing view on the roof top. Staff are friendly. Room has AC. food at restaurant on the rooftop is good. Just the shower room is very small with curtain.
We stayed 5 nights in Feb. 2025. The staff is very friendly and willing to assist you. The Luxor and Karnak are very, very close if you are willing to walk. In addition, one of Luxor’s bazar is by the entrance. A couple of beer and liquor stores are just outside around the corner. The breakfast is delicious, with a variety of choices. Lunch and dinner are excellent too. You can arrange for balloon ride with the reception at a very competitive price.
Great hotel
Nefertiti is a great place in a great location. Charming, friendly, good food in the restaurant, convenient location, I could not ask for more from a hotel.
We booked for 3 nights. We were sent to the other hotel for the first night due to overbooking. The hotel staffs were all very nice and helped to carry our luggage. It was still very difficult for us to pack and move when we were so tired. No elevator. Rooftop restaurant was wonderful. Nice view. We loved their foods.
Muy lindo lugar y las personas que atienden son amables
Staff are great! Rooftop is amazing.
The staff were lovely - Raqab went above and beyond making up our room each day. Top guy! The restaurant staff were always on hand and friebdly, plus 10/10 for taking care of the stray cats. Really made our day. Their story gives back food to locals too. Great location. They warn you about the touts which I thought was a great step in helping people avoid the stress of Luxor. Room, wifi and views are also top.
Nice enough hotel for the budget, though the shower was shoehorned into a tiny toilet area and unusable. This area of Luxor had little choice for evening entertainment, though the McDonalds nearby made it very acceptable.
Store. Down is so spence.
Its close to the luxor temple walking distance to all the activities
Pleasantly surprised
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had twin beds but our stay was for 2 nights so it wasn’t an issue. We had an early balloon ride tour that required pick up prior to breakfast. They prepared breakfast boxes for each of us that were a lovely gesture.
The pros: The luxor temple is located right in front of hotel, you can also see the nile river right in front, the restruant tastes good, the staff is extremly nice. Cons: The hotel has too many taxi cab drivers and horse chariot people outside of hotel who do not take no for an answer and harass you to an abusive level. some even follow you for a very long time. The Hotel also does not have an elevator, so be warned if you mind that or have bad knees. (My room was in the 4th level) My room had a hole in the roof, you could see sunlight fortunately no mosquitos or bugs went inside. Wifi was terrible maybe due to being on the 4th floor.
Hotel with Great Restaurant
Hotyel was better than we expectyed, although the Front Entrance is a little confusing (you can't see it from the street). But the restaurant up on the 4th floor was outstanding! Great food, great vibe, great views! Don't miss it if you go to Luxor - one of our favorites in Egypt.
We loved this hotel ! Clean ! Well Located !! Close to luxor temple … thank you !
Ahmed was excellent he made us feel like at home very friendly and helped out with everything we needed including a tour to valley of kings. Definitely recommend this place and the restaurant has excellent service, food was beyond great and the view of was the cherry on top.
Look at the pictures of the bathroom first. The only thing I didnt like about this property was that the shower was literally on top of the toilet almost. basically when you shower you are washing the toilet. If it wasnt for this I would probably stay again.
Good location, comfortable room, & friendly Staffs
Room is nice, large, and comfortable. It smells really nice and fresh! Manager and Staffs are very nice and friendly to respond and provide you good service and information as needed. Thank you!
Quaint place in the center of the town
The hotel is a bit difficult to locate as its entrance is from a small lane, but a large board on the main road advertises their restaurant, Al Sahaby Lane. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. One major disadvantage is that they do not have a lift to go to the rooms, which are in the first to third floors, and so if you have a mobility issue, do not book here. The room was small, but well appointed. The bathroom was clean and had all amenities. I was disappointed with the bath area, which was a tiny square with a shower curtain on 3 sides. Once your body got wet with water, the curtain tended to stick to your back, making the whole bathing experience so uncomfortable that I pushed the curtain away, resulting in the whole bathroom becoming wet by the time my shower ended. The main attraction of the hotel is its proximity to the Luxor temple, market area and railway station all of which are within 500 meters or so from the hotel. There are plenty of eateries all around, including some in the Nile Corniche, which are within walking distance. All in all, it is a wonderful area for a budget traveller, or for anyone who does not mind the minor inconveniences that I described above.
Staff was very attentive and friendly. Enjoyed the restaurant so much I ate there all three nights. They kindly made me a to go breakfast for an early morning pickup for a tour. Everything in the room worked great (AC, shower, frig, internet). Easy walk to Luxor Temple and the Nile. Look for Hasni outside to be your carriage driver and to arrange a falluca ride. I would absolutely stay here again!!
I enjoyed the stay. If was fun and i loved everyone there.
Great food and great staff; convenient location Older hotel with noisy AC and surrounding
We only stayed here 3 nights. Absolutely amazing location and the rooftop is what its all about. The staff must see thousands of tourists come and go and it shows unfortunately. The room was tiny and a tiny wet room to shower. But for a few nights was fine and doable We went to the hotel next doors rooftop for alcoholic beverages. Was always empty so was good to escape the crowds of Nefertitis rooftop. Nefertitis was a fantastic slice of Egypt. We highly recommend Al Hajeej tours
Loved the roof top dining area. Plenty of hot water
Great location
Staff is friendly and location is good.
The hotel is located right across Luxor temple , close to shopping area. If you have poor leg this might not be the one, there are no elevators. To many flies inside the room. The restaurant is good.
Nice hotel with a great restaurant
The hotel is convenient for a short walk from the bus/train. It is pretty much opposite Luxor Temple The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable, and the wet room shower is just fine Where this place excels is with its rooftop restaurant. Great food in the evening at almost reasonable prices, and an excellent buffet breakfast in the morning
staff and food excellent
Would recommend.
Excellent customer service, lovely breakfast Basic but clean..
Outstanding location in Luxor and highly recommended. An Egypt class hotel but one of the best ones. Rooms are somewhat spartan but comfortable. If noise bothers you, you're in the wrong country. The restaurant is outstanding and it's worth seeing sunset over the Luxor Temple there at least once. The hotel is just a sideline for the tour company but they do offer every tour one could need and there is no Uber in Luxor so getting around independently is harder than Cairo.
Egyptian hospitality at American standards
I had eaten at the restaurant many times in the past but this year I brought a group of Americans to stay at the hotel. Everyone loved the location, convenience, and conditions of the hotel. The breakfast is great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the place is clean. If you have stayed in Egyptian hotels before, you know that Egyptians loved mattress, seating, and pillows that are hard as rocks. All of those things in this hotel are much closer to western preferences of medium firmness. They still keep a very Egyptian flavor in the setting.
Everyone who works at this hotel did everything possible to make our stay as good as possible. The room is tight but adequate. The beds (2 twins) were comfortable. The roof top restaursnt had very good food and an outstanding view. The location is perfect if you want to be downtown and in the action. The only drawback is that there is no elevator so you have to walk up to the restaurant. If youMre looking for a western style hotel, this should kot be your choice but if you want something more authentic and outstanding service, this hotel is perfect.
I love the hotel restaurant. The food was excellent and the staffs were very nice.
Located in center of the tourist spot. It’s a small hotel with things you need to stay a night or two while touring Luxor.
Nefertiti is in an unbeatable location in front of Luxor’s temple entrance and with a great view of the Nile from the rooftop restaurant. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is very convenient and their regular menu was very good too.
I’ve been to Luxor a few times and keep on coming back to Nefertiti. Great location, amazing rooftop views to the Luxor Temple, great staff and services. Rooms are basic and there’s no elevator but the staff is helpful and always ready to lend a hand with the luggage. The restaurant is also good, popular inclusive with no guests.
The property is within the bazaar area. Unfortunately when walking out of the hotel you are besieged by people wanting money or to sell you something. The rooftop dining was good. The staff friendly. Accommodation clean. Cannot flush toilet paper as plumbing cannot handle it.
Absolutely loved it. The rooms are really clean. No troubles at all. The restaurant is fabulous, we are with no issues for days day discovering something new. Laundry service is accessible and cheap. Yours are easy to arrange and affordable. All in all - nothing to fault.
Personnel very helpful and attentive. The food excellent.
Quiet hotel, comfortable beds. Restaurant on terrace has a great view and the food is excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Nefertiti hotel was everything we expected and more. Oh my God, the decoration was very pleasing, the antiques on the staircase, wow, they brought memories back to us. the people at the front desk they were very helpful in accommodating us with the perfect tour guide from Magic Carpet, Mrs. Ghada Hahagy. The Rofftop restaunrant at night was magical, it was packed, it means its good. we couldn't find a table on their main floor, so we had to go upstairs, and as soon as a table opened, we were asked if we wanted to move to it. it was the best table, as it was right next to the edge, facing the road of sphinxes and the Luxor Temple. the breakfast was very good too, crepes and omelets made to order mmmmm delicious, a table of bread, cheeses, fresh fruits, cereals, and local Egyptian food. we were very pleased with our stay at Nefertiti hotel!
Welcoming staff, breathtaking view from roof top.
The place was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only minus was the leaking air conditioner (Which wasn’t a big deal, just walked barefoot) Great place great location. Will definitely use again on my next trip to Luxor.
Recommend for anyone traveling on a temple trip. Relax on top of hotel at restaurant, enjoy delicious food and Luxor temple and Nile river views. Recommend for family. I travelled with my son for a father -son trip, was perfect
Staff were great - really friendly and helpful. Restaurant on rooftop had great views and sunset. Right across the road from Luxor temple.
Friendly staff, Muhammad HK provided great services. Bath room floor was wet after shower due to not having good drainage.
Basic, but comfortable!
Had a great stay here and the staff was super helpful, especially when it came to arranging for rides and getting tips on how to get around. Rooms are basic but they fit the bill especially if you're on a budget. The rooftop restaurant is excellent and I highly recommend getting dinner there if you have the chance. The scene outside the hotel is a little chaotic and can be overwhelming but if you're firm and willing to brush past all the touts trying to sell you stuff, the location is great. Rooftop views are fantastic too!
Worst hotel service ever in our 10 years of travel
The restaurant, location and view were good. The room was noisy all night from the restaurant noise, doors opening and closing all night we barely got any sleep. The service was most terrible of any other hotels we had been to and we already been to 45 countries, staying at many hotels.com listings They emailed us informing us about the airport pickup service and tours information so we emailed back asking for more information about the tours and they did not answer and question, just asking for payment for the pickup service. And the cost is triple the taxi price. We stayed an extra night, the same type of room but had to change to another room the next afternoon. When we got back from our tour, they rushed us to change the room, we could not find the key and they said it was a big problem and wanted to charge us half the price of the room rate while wanting to move us out of the room. In the policy it listed there is 24 hours between room bookings which iant true in our case.
Pros: It was near the end of our trip and this hotel was a good budget option. There are great views over Luxor Temple, the Nile River and the balloons rising over The Valley of the Kings. A little pricier than the surroundings but I was able to buy bottled water and have dinner at the attached restaurant. The staff is amazing, even providing plate and utensils when one person in our group bought in outside snack to try. The airport transfer was cheaper than the tour company I was using and it was a nice car. Cons: The biggest con is probably that the market is right there when you exit the hotel. Offers to sell you everything can get annoying. Room-wise, I would've preferred a full door instead of the bathroom door being partially a privacy glass.
Great staff and great location. Highly recommend. Rooms are on the small side, but still very nice. One of the best restaurants on the rooftop, graeat food with very teasonable prices. Staff was wonderful, made towel animals every day.
Pros-The location is excellent close to Luxor temple & river nile. Infact the property is right beside a bazar which is great for shopping souvenirs. Its quite clean, staffs are well behaved. Cons-There are too many rooms for the limited space the property has. Rooms are small. Its a 6 story building with no elevator & the restaurant is on the roof, if you have knee pain dont book it.
Pro: just across from Luxor Temple and Nile River and there is bazaar behind the hotel. Cons: No elevator. The rooftop where breakfast is served is on the 5th floor with no elevator. The area is surrounded by folks trying to force you to ride horses, take their taxis or buy things. The toilet is old style taking shower using handheld without shower curtains so it can be super wet after you take a shower
This is a little hotel with a good spirit. While the facilities are basic the experience was 5 stars. Hotel, restaurant and tour organizer are separate but they work together so well they deliver more than the sum of their parts. The receptionist was proactive, made check-in easy and responsive throughout our stay. The restaurant was EXCELLENT and we ate all of our meals there for 3 days. The Tour Organizer was from Magic Carpet Tours and organized the Balloon and Dendara/Abydos day trip at a reasonable price. Our stay at this hotel was one of the highlights of Luxor!!! Highly recommend!!!
Loved the location! Walkable to a lot of Luxor attractions and a great neighbourhood
Nice and quiet hotel that is right near the Luxor temple.
Great Location in Luxor
One of the best hotel few blocks from Luxor temple, close to Catholic Church, Restaurants and shops. Taxi’s are just waiting outside to service your needs. Best is their laundry service.
The property is very nice. What I don’t like is the high price about everything. A taxi from airport cost 200 Egyptian pounds when then want to charge you 490 Egyptian pounds. They sell a tour to West Bank for 470 each person when everyone else paid 200 Egyptian pounds. The Air Hot Ballon costs 40 usd and they try to charge you 75 usd. It is not nice for a hotel to try to steal from guests. Being more honest about price will be better and get more people send over you!
Very accommodating for breakfast. Oiur checkour time was early morning and they agreed to shift our last day breakfast to the day of our checkin
Location, location, location and excellent roof terrace with a killer view:)
3 night break
This review is made taking in account what we paid for the accommodation. At only £27 per room per night, the room is basic but comfortable the bed was comfortable and the view from the roof terace is fantastic. Breakfast was very good and plenty of it, if you like to sleep in forget it as the mosques kick off at 0515 each morning and these are very loud so all in all i would recommend you stay but dont expect the ritz.
Good location and service
Room has the basic amentities. Toile
This venerable hotel on Luxor’s east bank has every amenity and convenience. You are right next to Luxor Temple, a few kilometers away from Karnak Temple and just across the river from the sites on the west bank. In addition, the view from the roof terrace is breathtaking!
I opted for discount price but felt was given least preferred room as I was single. Biased and discriminating hotel .
The terrasse on the roof of the hotel made all the difference. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of the employee really helped us with a booking where we weren't able to get a hold of the company. He took care of it and everything was perfect.
LOVED the excellent food and view of Luxor Temple property! Souk shopping was convenient since it was only a few feet away. The hotel was even easy walking distance from the train station.
Stayed 4 nights. Very comfortable. Rooftop dining is great. Great free breakfast buffet!! Very convenient for us to visit everything. Left our bags on the last day. Horse carriage drivers and taxi drivers outside the hotel are very aggressive.
Not much I can add to other positive reviews. Perfect no frills stay in the heart of Luxor for budget no-nonsense travelers. It's simple and cost/value ratio is tops. Food is delicious and cheap. Inclusive breakfast had all what we needed before running out the door.
Good stay in Luxor, close to Luxor temple
We had a good stay at Nefertiti, their restaurant did lovely food at great price, although the service was a little slow at times. The room was on the small side, but had comfy beds and a small fridge. The bathroom was quite small and although the shower pressure was good the shower area was relatively cramped (it was a wet room). Mohamed Mostafa cleaned our room during our stay and always left fun towel arrangements for us to get back to - an impressive elephant one day, and a crocodile the other 😊
Sweet family owned budget hotel very near Luxor Temple. Rooftop terrace is fantastic.
Awesome rooftop deck! Good value in central location.
The people and staff are all very nice and helpful. You are in a great location for walking and you are right across the street from Luxor Temple. The restaurant is really good, no need to walk far at all. The only thing as you probably well know, is the street hassling is non-stop and will get irritating. People constantly scamming you right outside the hotel is the only downfall.
We took one look at the entrance to the property and decided not to stay there. The street was dirty. Smelly and crowded with people and animals, and the entrance was through a dark and narrow corridor. We understood that there were no elevators on a multi-story building.
A very affordable hotel option in the heart of Luxor. While this would not be considered a five-star hotel, it had everything we needed as two adult males. With both a great dining space, downstairs and upstairs, along with an extraordinarily pleasant staff, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Special shout out to Ahmed who works in the evenings.
Great times
Great hotel good location and view from roof terrace. Food good and staff very helpful and friendly. Asked about transfer to Go-bus station for 4 people it only cost us 150egp that's £6
Hotel workers are awesome!
We enjoyed the location of the hotel and that was pretty much it. The staff overcharge us 4x the amount for a water bottle when they saw we were thirsty. The room was ok, and the power went out along with the wifi several times. The breakfast was mediocre. There was also a massive tip box at the front counter for no reason.
Nefertiti hotel is nicely located just a few minute walk from the entrance of Luxor temple. The staff was very helpful and hospitable. The restaurant at the top of the hotel was very good and highly recommended.
Excellent buffet breakfast included at its roof top restaurant with view of the Nile and Luxor Temple. Staff is extremely nice. Abuzizo went above and beyond to make our experience perfect! Great value for our money. Highly recommend
Nefertiti is perfectly located across from Luxor Temple and the Nile. There are street markets beside the hotel. Breakfast in the morning on the rooftop is great, lots of options including omelettes. The staff are very friendly and helpful including our great housekeeper Mohammad. The rooms were clean and with AC. No internet in the rooms but available in the lobby and rooftop.
This was a great place to stay, especially for the price. I thought of the rooms as a really nice, private hostel with your own bathroom. The restaurant on the roof offers an exceptional view of Luxor's west bank (you can spot the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut clearly) along with the food itself being tasty and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and willing to help. This would definitely be a property I would stay at again if I traveled back to Luxor.
Very nice experience!
This hotel is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
A gem
The room was nice, the bathroom was clean, the hotel restaurant was wonderful, the view was outstanding, the location was fantastic- it was so inexpensive. The staff were very charming and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay at Nefertiti, the place is charming and having the restaurant there is priceless specially the views and good food with great prices. Everyone there was super nice. The location is perfect just across the luxor temple, the market steps away. We ate everyday at the roof top and we love it! Room was clean and air conditioner work perfect. I appreciate the coffee and tea in the room!
Good condition and location - very close to train station. 10min walk. The breakfast was great, lots of choices with a nice view at rooftop. Would be better if roof is allowed for night times.
Nefertiti is in the heart of one of the long street markets, you can walk to the post office and the train station. I heard you can walk to luxor temple, rooms basic, clean refrigerator, Tv, nice size bathroom, air conditioning, and resturant on premises. Free breakfast in the morning, nothing like coffee and egg omlet w/everyhing, on roof top overlooking the nile. The real Luxor neighbor hood, must go back! must experiance if even for ONE NIGHT!!
Excelent Hotel next to Luxor Temple.
We had a verybnice stay All staff walk the extra mile to assist us. Will use again should i ever come back to Luxor.
The friendliness and warmth of the staff at the hotel was commendable.
Great location and restaurant has great atmosphere
Great property! Views of the Nile and Luxor Temple.
The staff at Nefertiti hotel were phenomenal! They were so kind, accommodating, and helpful. Despite check-in not being until 2pm, they allowed us to check in at 9am since we had a really early flight. They set us up with COVID-19 tests, taxi services, and tours, all for a VERY reasonable price. They were not pushy in the slightest, either. The restaurants attached to the hotel are fantastic, too. Great food and NO food poisoning--hallelujah! The only downside is the amenities themselves. While the rooms were nice, one of them didn't even have a shower (a hose in the wall that looked over the toilet in the bathroom the size of a closet). I had no problem with it, as I was paying ~$35/night for the hotel, but some people might shy away from this property for that very reason. Despite that, I'd highly recommend staying at Nefertiti, as the staff were phenomenal and some of the nicest people we met while in Egypt.
Nefertiti was a small, quaint hotel. Reem was very kind during our stay. At Nefertiti, they helped arrange a covid test for my friend and I for our flight back home. The staff was always willing to help and be kind. Truly the people made the stay. The rooftop restaurant was always wonderful. I sat there for breakfast and you couldn't beat the view of the Luxor temple. The breakfast was very good and filling. Loved the jellies! I highly recommend this stay and would come back if ever in Luxor!
This hotel is in an excellent area. Close to the Luxor Temple like 3 mines walking to the entrance. The museum is like 15 minutes walking. The Bazar is 1/2 minute walking. And the train station is 5 minutes walking. The breakfast is excellent. the view from the restaurant is awesome! I do recommend this hotel.
Paid $30 a night for this place. This place is ran like a hostel. $15 a night is more in line with its accommodations. We were given a hard time at check-in as staff was unfamiliar with Egyptian laws regarding residents and citizens staying together. Eventually this was cleared and we were checked in. The rooftop is nice. Food at breakfast and restaurant were edible. Overall, if someone wanted a hostel like experience I would recommend. If you are looking for something with more amenities and comfort stay somewhere else. There is only enough hot water for one person to bath. We also all got bit by something in the room.

Ok Hotel, close to temple
Its average hotel close to Luxor. Not very hygienic for breakfast as there were lot of flies in morning. Hotel staff is hard working. Beaware of scamsters outside hotel. Avoid Tonga rides as they promise and then cheat on you.
