We stayed here for our honeymoon and really loved it. The vibe is tropical and intimate. It was very romantic. The staff are extremely friendly all the time and the spas are incredible. Awesome if you are looking for the jungle side of Costa Rica near the Arenal Volcano.

An Unforgettable Stay at Nayara Gardens

From start to finish, our experience at Nayara Gardens was absolutely immaculate. We arrived via shuttle, where we were warmly greeted with a personalized sign. Check-in was seamless, and our room was already set up with a special anniversary treat waiting for us. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with a refreshing drink, taken on a tour of the property, and personally shown to our room. Though we stayed at the Gardens, we had full access to both Nayara Tented Camp and Nayara Springs. The resort’s golf carts made getting around effortless, arriving within minutes whenever needed. A special shoutout to Kevin and Johnn from the front desk, who handled all our reservations and answered any questions we had with ease. One of the highlights was our private heated pool, perfect for a relaxing late-night dip. Everything was impeccably clean, and we loved the thoughtful turn-down service. The stunning views and serene atmosphere made this the most relaxing stay we’ve ever had. We spent a lot of time at the Tented Camp infinity pool, where Christopher and Andrey kept us well-hydrated with incredible cocktails—thank you both! The resort also helped us spot incredible wildlife, making us feel truly immersed in the rainforest. We saw sloths, monkeys, and beautiful birds, which made our stay even more magical. The property is immaculate and clean! Each accommodation is well designed to give you privacy and a feel of luxury. The thing that really stands out is the service. - staff is so polite and welcoming, just makes your day start right. The welcome drink, the scrumptious breakfast, the special attention at dinners - get you in the right mood for rte vacation. Our only sour experience was that our unit’s water pipe had burst and we did not get water in the unit. That was a bummer as we wanted to freshen up after a long day of journey. They said that it would be fixed in an hour, which it wasn’t and after we raised the concern, we were given another room. And they picked up our dinner tab. Again - the staff was very courteous about it, we appreciated the gesture a lot. But nevertheless did not like the fact that we had to pack/unpack twice; and that they did not keep us informed/get the issue corrected by when they said they would. Regardless I would definitely give another chance and stay at the property as it was so well planned. The golf carts, thermal pools, luxurious ambiance, food options were excellent. Above it all was the hospitality and friendliness of the staff!

Rainforest Relaxation

Villa with Rainforest Pool and view of Arenal Volcano was beautiful. Staff was amazing in every department. Food was great at all restaurants we tried.

This is one of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms are truly amazing and so private. We stayed here for our honeymoon and the hotel gifted us a bottle of sparkling wine and little desserts. The turndown service was really nice and dry cleaning was fast and had great pricing compared to other hotels we stayed at. I can’t say enough about the staff, we arrived early for check in but staff brought us complimentary drinks and one staff William gave us an amazing tour of the property which was needed because it is enormous. So impressive with bridges and wildlife and lush tropical forest everywhere. We loved the orchids along all the paths in the resort. William also showed us the frog pond in the evening which we loved. He had amazing suggestions and helped throughout our entire stay. We did the complimentary yoga and loved the fresh cold coconut water provided afterwards. I was blown away with everything what was included and every little detail. We saw several sloths, howler monkeys and six different species of frogs on the property. We did not want to leave the resort and ate at Ayla the Mediterranean restaurant which was good and the Italian restaurant which we loved. Great vegan options at all the dining options. I can’t say enough good things and look forward to returning!!

This place is top of the heap!! I have stayed at lots of quality resorts and this one is on top of the list.. check in was easy, room was awesome, food and restaurants were great and plentiful. You can get a golf cart to shuttle you around or walk.. the property is beautiful and has three resorts to wander thru to eat, get coffee, jump in the thermal baths, or go to one of their three spas.. its a must try and the people are also awesome!!

Sept/Oct was an amazing time to go in my opinion. Slower and less crowded, and the weather made the Termas even better. A light rain and fog while in the thermal baths in the middle of the rain forest. Everything was better than we could have hoped for and expected. The property, and staff/service is next level, and we were really impressed! It was surprising to learn that Nayara Gardens guests can use Nayara Springs amenities too! The Casitas in Nayara Gardens were perfect, and the staff split the king bed into two beds for me and my friend! Amazing place, and we will be back!!

This place is AMAZING! If you are looking for a place to relax, connect with nature without having to worry about anything, this is it. We cannot wait to come back!

This resort was like being in paradise. Exquisite villas with private plunge pools but also numerous other large pools and thermal spring pools. Exceptional staff across the whole resort, and wonderful food in all of the restaurants.

The staff was so friendly that compensated for everything else. We had an unfortunate event on our first night with Housekeeping, and they tried to compensate us as much as possible, kindness and attention was our favorite reaction from all their personnel, from cart drivers, restaurants, SPAs, and the stars were the reception team. Alonso is a great asset for this property, he made us want to come back and resolved every request we had. Great property, PURA VIDA! Memorable experience for our family.

Excellent service

If you want to be pampered in your suite, have infinite pool within, launder your clothes for free every day, have a refrigerator full of eatables free, twice a day turn down service twice, see all kinds of animals and birds within the property, and have a lava-fed hot spring, and a golf cart service in the very hilly resort Najara gardens is the right place for you. I have stayed in many upscale hotels and this I would consider among the top except for a few minor blemishes. Upon arrival, both Noelle and Alonso welcomed us with the true Costan Rican spirit of “Pure Vida” and lived up to it through our three-night stay. Their tours are conducted by Jacamar (we took two of them, a real highlight to our trip-separately reviewed). You are inside the rain forest very close to the just now inactive Arenal volcano. So expect rain anytime of the day or night with significant wind and humidity. We were in April 2024 that was still considered to be a dry season, but it rained so heavily in the night that we were afraid to go on tour in the early morning at 5 am; we changed our mind, and we are glad we did. They have several restaurants that cater to a variety of food that are reasonably priced. The breakfast was very moderate considering all other aspects of the resort, and they even charged for cappuccino while it was free in the room. Compared to all the other staff, the staff at La Terraza were not that courteous or extra-friendly. Also, there is no easy way to go to the La Fortu

Nayara Gardens is a gorgeous luxury property. Our rainforest pool villa was even better than expected & I had sky high expectations. The grounds are amazing! Lush flora and fauna ♥️. We saw Sloths and many beautiful birds that you don’t see in the US. The varied dining options, the eager to please staff and various activities made this an unforgettable vacation. I would definitely go back and stay at this resort again & highly recommend it. The thermal spas were a beautiful place to relax. I cannot say enough good things about this property. Again, the rainforest villas with that thermal private infinity pool, outdoor and indoor showers & roomy layout are simply stunning.

We hated to leave! The grounds are beautiful. Jurassic Park meets Disneyland (but authentic and so so clean). The staff is the defining point on why I would come back over and over again. Beyond friendly, professional and make you feel so welcome. Yerlin in the Ayla’s dining room has an infectious smile, every bellman greats you and is happy to help you figure out what to do next or drive the property looking for sloths (Blanco, Jason and Jack Danny to name a few but all are fabulous). The food is delicious- you could stay on property and not miss a beat! Treat yourself to the spa - best!!! Yes, already planning our next trip - it’s that good!

Generally - one of the best, if not the best hotel here. I recommend to stay here at least few nights. There are things which can be improved, but they are doing their best.

This hotel is a paradise!!! Starting with location and ending with staff and amenities. I have no words to describe the service we received with my husband at the hotel. Staff were going all the way to make our needs met. All three Nayara hotels are next to each other and you can use amenities of all of them. All three of them are behind beautiful. Restaurants have great food and service. We are happy that we had an opportunity to stay at Nayara Gardens.

Best Resort Ever

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Nayara Springs. It is truly a magical place with extensive grounds that are impeccably maintained and home to many kinds of wildlife. The staff is incredible, friendly, warm and welcoming. Being able to use all of the amenities - pools, restaurants, bars at all 3 connected Nayara properties allows for so many options to explore; 3 nights was not enough for us and we wish we had stayed longer. We have stayed at many luxury and five star resorts and Nayara was by far the best resort at which we have ever stayed.

If your like me and reading hundreds of reviews please just STOP! You will not be disappointed!!! There is a reason why this resort was name one of the top destinations in the world. I'm not sure who manages this resort, but my hat goes off to them. It is truely an experience from the moment till you arrive until you you check out . Everyone and i mean evryone defines customer service to the next level . If you could close your eyes and imagine a mixutre of the four seasons and disneylsnd experience that would get your mind headed in the right direction . All , yes all the food was amazing and paired with some excellent wine choices. Money very well spent. Downside , not staying long enough to enjoy this massive resort! Dont believe me, read the other 1000 plus reviews!!!

We had a wonderful stay in NG. The grounds are stunning, superb restaurants, accommodations, and amenities. Most notably are the hot springs and amazing views of the volcano, along with the exceptional staff. Jean gave us a warm, and informative welcome and was there to help us throughout our stay. Truly a treasure among boutique hotels, with individualized service. It’s luxurious, peaceful, and immaculately maintained. A true paradise!!

Fantastic, sublime, superb

My husband and I reallt enjoyed our time at Nayara. The villa was gorgeous and the hot tub pool was fabulous! The grounds are lovely and the hot springs pools were so relaxing. The food and drinks were all excellent, as was the staff. The location was good for exploring the area (with a car). We would love to go again!

Nayara is a top class hotel with great levels of service. Facilities and variety of restaurants are very good. The hotels are located in a hill side o walks up and down can be quite steep (but not difficult). An app to guide you around the 3 hotels would be a sensible idea as the sign posting is average at best

Almost everything was great and specially the staff were super friendly & professional. We rented two villas and they both had mice issue inside the roof structure, and they kept us up at night and we were not able to sleep! We also told the front management, but they couldn't fix it either.

More than worth the stay!

We had the most incredible time here. I read so many reviews for each resort in the area. I have been to Costa Rica before (for several months at a time), and I am well-traveled, so it was difficult. But I cannot wait to return to Nayara Gardens one day! The photos do not do it justice. The grounds are breath-taking. The customer service is top-notch. And the biggest surprise to me was that all three properties — Nayara Gardens, Nayara Springs and Nayara Tented Camps — are all interconnected and open to all guests (at least adults). So, the variety of restaurants, pools, amenities that was available was astounding and totally worth staying in one of these three facilities. Seriously, all the good things in other reviews are true. And we had absolutely nothing we could possibly complain about.

Nayara is not just a place to stay, it is an excursion. The property is beautiful with magical plants, pools, and paths to explore. We saw sloths, hummingbirds, and iguanas on the property. All the pools have their own personalities and are extremely clean. They don’t smell like chlorine and many are your own private oasis. The property is so large to explore but you can always call for a buggy or wave someone over. We even had them call us when they found sloths and they picked us up and brought us to them! The rooms are so unique, peaceful, and offer an experience of their own. Resting on your own hammock and looking at the volcano is beyond words. Sitting in your own private outdoor tub and listening to the tree frogs is so relaxing. They also stock the room with everything you may need, bug spray, umbrellas, and even flashlights. Every staff member is helpful, kind, and go above and beyond to make your experience amazing. You ask a simple question and they pull out all the stops. Norman drove us to the resort from the airport and pointed out sloths and toucans for us! The included breakfast is reason enough to go! Tropical fruit we’ve never had, coconut water, fresh juice, plus a variety of Costa Rican food and American food is available. We are at two of the restaurants and they were five star. Worth every penny with such fresh and rich flavors. We can’t wait to go back to Nayara in the future and bring friends so they can experience this amazing place!

Amazing weekend getaway!

Only wish we had more time to enjoy the resort but it was a short weekend escape! The resort was beautiful and the staff + service were topnotch. I'd say my favorite amenity was the natural hot springs! Would definitely come back again and highly recommend to anyone visiting CR.

What can I say, simply amazing! From the moment you set foot inside the property, you feel like Royalty. It’s all about you. The premises and rooms are spotless, the food is incredible at all the restaurants, all the staff are really friendly and attention to detail is at its highest. This is a stellar property and gorgeous room and grounds. The service was impeccable and the restaurants superb!

Absolutely beautiful rooms. Rooms were a generous size. The grounds were also amazing. Staff was courteous. There was a lot of choices for breakfast and the breakfast was delicious. The downside is there were a lot of bugs in the room. We had seen previous reviews about this and the hotel denied it. We found that there was a 1/2 inch gap on either side of the interior shower glass and this allowed bugs to enter the room. There were lots of mosquitos and spiders, so I'd recommend using the mosquito netting on the bed at night. The noise from the frogs at night was unbearable. We had a fan for white noise and also a white noise machine, which drowned out a lot of the noise, but not all. I said something twice to the employees there and they just laughed and said I'm in a rainforest. I get that and I like the rainforest noises, just not at night when I'm trying to sleep, especially when I'm paying $700 a night for a room. There are methods for soundproofing rooms.

Nayara Gardens, Springs and Tented Camp blew me away. The service was 5-star the minute we arrived for checkin. The property was so beautiful and expansive that we never left the grounds! We were here for 2 nights. I’d say you need at least 5 to take in all the pools, paths and other off-resort venues. The restaurants are varied and all excellent. Kids are welcome at Tented Camp and Gardens but not Springs. So if you need an escape from the kids, it’s just a short walk to the Springs side. Of all my international travel (US included), this is by far my favorite stay. Well done Nayara!

This place is exceptional. Staff is unbelievably helping. Everything is clean and updated. We stayed in Rainforest Villa for 2 days and never wanted to leave. We extended one day so we stayed in Casita Deluxe 1 for a night and this was a bit disappointing bc it was close to the main pool so there was a bit of noise. Otherwise, this place is an unbelievable experience and we will definitely be back.

Very friendly staff; beautiful grounds; great walking trails within the rainforest. Various natural thermal baths on premises with varying temperatures that contain the volcanic minerals and are beneficial to one's health. The rooms are luxurious with double interior and exterior showers. Those that have a plunge pool can have the water temperature set to their liking. We used only the buffet breakfast, not the a la carte restaurant. Food was plentiful and delicious. Loved every minute there.

How do we even begin to explain how amazing everything was at Nayara Springs? From beginning to end it was one of the best experience's of any Hotel/Resort we have ever been to. It was our honeymoon and Nayara pampered us beyond belief. The hot springs, the coffee shop, the entire property, the private dinner, the service, the food, the pools, the drinks all top notch. Anything we needed at any time, they took care of. We cannot say enough wonderful things about our time there except it was too short. Nayara truly made our honeymoon exceptional. Absolutely beautiful villas in the rain forest with jacuzzi tubs on the deck and an outdoor shower surrounded by private nature. Villas are very spacious as well.

We absolutely loved our stay at Nayara. The grounds and property are stunning. The food is delicious with plenty of options for dining. Great pools including one for adults only. The staff are exceptional! They go out of their way to show you the wildlife and are so friendly and service oriented. A special thank you to Dixon, Fernando, Javier, Anna, Noel and Alexander. Amazing!

Nayara was the most magical place to stay in! It was our honeymoon and the resort took part in celebrating with us! We came from Washington State and will definitely be coming back here to stay! Truly, the most incredible experience here!

You know we had a wonderful vacation when the only complaint we can come up with is the length of the drive from the airport. The resort is pristine, service was excellent, food was scrumptuous (even late night room service), and the entire resort is five star. Every member of the staff is focused on your experience being "Pura Vida!" Schedule a massage and enjoy relaxing in the open air; if you are really lucky (as we were) you'll have a rainstorm in the jungle during your massage and get the storybook experience! My wife would also highly recommend a chocolate massage, I assure you your skin will never have felt softer afterwards. I can personally recommend both Yadira and Sol for exemplary massages ... Our room was immaculate, private plunge pool and outdoor shower included (we never even used the indoor shower). The foliage on the property guarantees you've got privacy; we rarely even heard any "neighbors." Temperatures day and night seemed to stay between 68-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Spend some time in Mi Cafecito. Introduce yourself to Monica, and take a class from her on coffee brewing. You won't regret it! Afterwards you can walk back to your room on the trail through the jungle, and you're sure to see sloths and monkeys. This resort is a top tier experience. We enjoyed our stay so much we only left the property once in the week we visited ... which only guarantees that we'll be going back again for the off-site activities we had intended!

Spectacular property, great food and friendly staff.The grounds are HUGE, consistenting of Nayara Springs, Gardens and Tented accommodation. The rooms are beautiful, with very private covered porches....perfect for morning coffee or reading in the rain. Birds and wildlife everywhere...wake to the soubds of Howler monkeys amd nocturnal critters dancing on our roof. Good proximity to town, volcano and other activities. Don't miss the "free hot springs" river experience!

Just incredible. Beatiful and very good service

This place was absolutely magical- from the gorgeous landscaping that makes you feel immersed in nature to the top notch service, our stay at Nayara Gardens was a dream. The complimentary morning yoga, and the hot spring pools really helped us relax. La Terraza offered a wonderful breakfast every morning, and if it’s not too cloudy, you can see the Arenal volcano as you sip on your fresh Costa Rican coffee. We will definitely be back specifically to this resort!

First time taking the time to review a stay but I had to for this one. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel and I must say this is by far the best place I’ve stayed overall. First Rate in every aspect!! Friendly and helpful staff, numerous amenities. The staff will go out of the way to please you, and unlike many places today they are not understaffed.

Fabulous stay

An amazing stay all around. My in-laws stayed in the casita and our family (2 kids and 2 adults) stayed in the Rainforest Villa. The Rainforest Villa, in my opinion, is worth the upgrade for the huge bathroom and extra things like the free laundry (we went home with almost all clean clothes!) and minibar. The staff is unbelievable—responsive, friendly and always willing to go above and beyond. Towels folded into animals, treats left bedside. Very clean and well maintained property. I would compare it to Banyan Tree or Anantara resorts in terms of it seeming immersed in nature with beautiful rooms and amenities. A few things that might be helpful in general to travelers: It’s a 2.5-3 hour drive from SJO. Driving at night is hard for visibility. We rented a car which was so helpful to drive ourselves to the town La Fortuna and directly to tours that we booked on our own (Sloth Walk, Don Tobias horseback riding and the hike to the waterfall were highlights). We loved the restaurants Don Rufino and Anch’io (Italian) in the town. If you need medical care, there is a 24 hour clinic (which we ended up needing after an hammock head injury incident), but if you need more testing, etc. it’s an hour drive to a true ED. This is truly a special place. If you want the Costa Rica rainforest experience, I highly recommend this resort.

I have travelled extensively, and can honestly say that this hotel creates a magical experience unmatched globally. From the gracious and enthusiastic service from the Ticos, to the immaculate and beautiful rooms, to the gorgeous nature that feels magical, I can honestly say that I have never had this experience before. The only negative is that once you stay here, it makes your next destination seem mildly disappointing. They also impressed this front-line healthcare worker with their commitment to hand washing and covid precautions as their country does not have access to wide spread vaccination yet. I'm counting down the days that I can return.

No stone was left un turned no request was treated without top priority. . The facility was designed by masters, every detail was meticulously thought out, and the staff was just aces!
