All workers were polite and extremely helpful. I loved my stay with them and I’m planning on going back.
Great placwe to stay
Front desk extremely nice and helpful. It is a simple room and small, but it served our needs for our one night stay. Would stay again.
Great walking distance to the arena! Very clean and friendly staff.
Lovely hotel
It was right next to the metro. Very nice and the roof top restaurant had great views. There is a food court next door for late night snacks.
The property itself is very nice. Parking is off site and the rooms themselves are quite small. It is clean and well maintained. The restaurant onsite looks nice but we didn’t eat there.
Excellent service
Great place to stay. Quiet easy check in.
Nice staff, comfortable beds, clean, food is mediocre, and finally, the rooms are way too small to be comfortable. Not a decent place to sit.
The area was incredibly loud. I will be picking a different hotel.
Tiny rooms, but perfect spot to sleep off the Capital game beverages.
Very close to Capital One Arena. Nice Staff.
I loved my little room and the beds were comfortable. Very quiet stay after a hell of a concert.
ok,just too small room
The Motto is a favorite hotel because of walkability, proximity to entertainment and activities and the staff's friendliness and professionalism. It's clean, it's quiet, it's everything you need for a quick stay.
Modern, very clean, very small room, nice staff.
The hotel staff who checked me in were terrific -- efficient and very friendly. They did note the size of the room -- 150 sq ft, and they weren't kidding. But with the large bed, it didn't leave much room for anything else. A tiny (TINY) desk and a chair so I could put up a laptop. Bathroom had all the necessities, but the shower stall (no tub, but I don't need a tub) was also quite modestly sized. The "closet" had no door, just a bar to hang pants & shirts. Long items, like coats, had to go on the 3 hooks by the door. Glad I was here by myself on business. as two people in this room would have been really cramped. I was there only overnight, so not a huge issue, but for longer stays, get a larger room. Price was good for DC -- about $220 for the night. And the location was only about 2 blocks from Union Station. View? A wall. Didn't matter for me, but something to note for others.
Just the place to stay for a short trip
Decore is unique.
Room was very comfortable. On the small side but has everything a big hotel offers
Convenient location close to subway and public transportation. Rooms are very tinny but clean so if you are only sleeping over , it is ok. It is very noisy, you will hear the nighttime traffic and people walking by whole day and night. Some sound proof windows may help.
Easy to get back and forth. Space very small but has all you need if you ask for it. Great rooftop bar. Staff so helpful and friendly!
We had a great stay here during the weekend of March 30th. The hotel was walking distance to Capital One Arena. It is also very close to public transportation. The room was clean and the staff were so friendly. Would definitely recommend this convenient location!
The front desk staff were very helpful, knowlegeable, polite and efficient
Enjoyed my stay
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Great location, one minute from the Capital One Arena and within walking distance from all the museums. The hotel bar was really nice and there are lots of dining options nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at this property back in February so I don’t remember the unique name of the African American gentleman who checked me in, but he was extremely helpful, and gave us a generous voucher for food and drink at the hotel, and also provided a wealth of knowledge of the city and offered several suggestions of things to experience. I wish I could remember the gentleman’s name. But I would definitely stay at this property again when I return to DC.
Nice location and easy to public transport.
Nope.
Tiny does not even begin to explain how small this room was. And the bed was about as comfortable as sleeping on the ground.
Nice place to stay, central to everything
Great location for getting places , but VERY noisy !
Absolutely incredible! Super clean, Soo convenient and wonderful staff!
Mini but mighty
Was in DC for a basketball tournament at Capital One Arena. This hotel is a block from the arena, a metro station on the corner. Rooms are very small but every inch planned out. No fridge or microwave, get ice from the bar downstairs. Not a lot room to spread out but if you’re spending the day at the Mall, it’s perfect. Very reasonably priced. I’d stay here again. Super nice folks at the desk.
Good value and very clean
Business trip and if all you need is a place to shower and sleep this is ideal. Price is reasonable, given the location, but don't expect a big room. The staff there is amazing too.
Upon checking in, the staff was not hospitable at all. Nothing more than here is your key, okay bye. I had to ask where my room was. The place itself was SO NOISY. I heard sirens and alarms all night every night. I did not get good rest. My view was a brick wall. The cleaning staff was meh. I noticed black pet hair all over my bed and I have no idea where it came from but I had to clean it off. The front desk staff did the bare minimum. I would have to ask about the restaurants on the premises. They offered ear plugs, but who wants to sleep with ear plugs? Then on my last day they offered to move my room but I was already leaving at 5 am the following morning.
Location and comfortable stay
The hotel stay was totally fine for the staying for one night until in the morning when we found a cockroach in our room that totally turned us off from the visit/hotel as that’s completely disgusting. I did tell the front desk but all I got was an okay we”ll take care of it & nothing else or no other accommodations . We likely won’t be returning.
Nice place.
Nice hotel. Staff is friendly. Bathroom is very close to the bed with a sliding glass door so hope you know the person that you are traveling with very well. Close to the Capital One Arena.
Such a small room, and nowhere to just hang out for a bit. Staff was ok. They gave half of our group a free drink ticket, but not the rest.
Micro motel right next to the arena. Good place to stay for events
Great location. Walkable to museums, restaurants, convention center and other conference hotels.
Great experience!!
room was smaller than we were expecting.
Everybody was very polite and helpful
Overall a nice stay, however many surfaces in the room were a bit dirty and had smear marks like they hadn’t been properly cleaned and the key cards we were given had multiple stains/smears too so that was a little gross. Other than that it was perfect for our short stay, great location and friendly staff.
Small but just right
I knew from reading reviews that the rooms were pretty small, but they are efficient and very well-designed for comfort and functionality. I was in DC for a conference and basically just slept and showered in my room, so for that, it was very comfortable, with fully functional and easy to use temperature control, a very comfortable bed, sufficient storage space for clothes, and an efficient bathroom with shower.
Perfect
We chose Motto for it's proximity to the Rock n Roll Series Half Marathon. It was just perfect for what we needed. The staff was super helpful and professional. They let us check in a bit early and also extended our stay for us to be able to come back after the race and freshen up.
Small rooms but big enuf Hotel looks new
Micro hotel so it was very affordable with a rooftop bar, whiskey lounge, and a stadium right across the street. Perfect for a stay cation.
This is not a reflection on the hotel itself but the area surrounding the hotel is a little sketchy. great if you are not traveling alone but a little scary when you are as there are a lot of beggars.
Appreciated
Overall I was amazed the hotel is actually so clean. I just came in for one night stay. I was happy. The staff at the reception are so hospitable and nice. God bless them. One of the guys at the reception even helped me sign up for a free breakfast🙏. The food is nice too.
Beautiful hotel near Capital One Arena
Beautiful hotel near Capital One Arena. Walking distance to National Mall and area restaurants. Rooms are small but big enough to enjoy your stay. Clean and updated.
Small but clean rooms. Good location. Negative... no microwave or ice bucket
Rooms are small
It is close to many great restaurants and the Metro. There was a disturbance at 3am that could have been handled better and kept us up for an hour. The room was very small...I almost had to leave the room to put my backpack on.
i called the hotel via the hilton hhonors folks n canceled when the bay bridge closed when heading to dc.
A lot of police due to people fighting outside the hotel. They were using the hotels bar.
Game trip
Went to a hockey game. Great location for arena and train station.
Stephanie at the front desk was amazing. Very helpful, cheerful and smiling.
THE ROOMS ARE TINY! A brick wall was our view. Cleaning staff, maintenance, and security were very nice. There was no ice or vending machines on the floors. So security and maintenance were gracious enough to go to the bar next to the entrance and get ice when needed. Great location. Right in Chinatown. Parking is unorganized and no real system, but cheap for DC parking $25/Day
Rooms are small..not enough space to fully open a large luggage. However, affordable for convenience and location. Comfortable bed and reasonable amenities.
Tiny tiny rooms but so fun.
Had a good time !
Perfect for overnight or long weekend.
Happy I chose this spot!
Check-in was smooth, easy and informative. The rooms are small, but they really don't need to be any bigger! Everything you need is there...even a noise machine to help cancel out the street noise from below. Location is perfect, especially if you're going to the Capital One Arena. I really enjoyed my stay and will stay again when in the area.
Goid
The staff was phenomenal! They went above and beyond!!
Rooms were small but an unbelievable location. Walking distance to all the main Washington attractions. Room was very clean. Staff was super friendly. Parking off site but not to far or a big hassle. Given the location you don't really need your car anyway.
Parking was odd other than that a great stay!
There was music and drums outside the entire night. Could not sleep.
The bar that’s attached to the hotel. Gave dirty ice bucket Dirt was on the ice not a good look ma home needs to be cleaned out
Staff is vary helpful
It's often times we pay expensive $ totals for hotels with amenities that we never use. This hotel was very clean, with great staff, but didn't add fluff that wasn't necessary. The downtown area (China Town/Gallery Place) in general is more populated with tourists and as a result more crime activity but otherwise was easy to find a garage to park in and get to breakfast in the morning.
Hg
I came for a quick 2 night stay to attend a hockey game at Capitol One Arena. I arrived later on Saturday night and was promptly and kindly greeted. The front desk worker gave me the run down and got me quickly checked in. I like that the elevators needed a key card to work, adding some extra security. I easily found somewhere to eat off property both nights because it’s in a busy part of town, with Chinatown on one end and bars and restaurants on the other. I didn’t eat at the restaurant while there, but it was always busy when I was moving through the front. The room was small, but clean. It was the perfect size for one person to have a place to land at night and get ready in the morning. The arena was a couple blocks away. There were lots of historic sites and museums within walking or biking distance. I would definitely stay at this property again.
Motto One Night Stay
Small but comfortable rooms. Great gym in the basement.
Very clean and friendly environment. Staff was excellent.
New pillows needed
Great experience. Only negative, the pillows were flat and uncomfortable
Great staff, clean property, perfect location. I would definitely come back!
Good
Rooms are extremely small but it’s doable. Very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Staff recommended a NBA game that was walkable (it was an amazing game). Hotel is close by great restaurants. Would definitely come back.
Loved it , they were kind at the desk and the vibe at the bar was next level
The AC was very tricky. It can't hold the temperature. It's either too cold or too hot. I asked for slippers (which you usually can find in the bedroom), and they told me I should go to the front desk to get it! That was an interesting experience, usually they will bring it to you. Mattress sheets looked clean but old. They had some holes in it
Great stay.
The room had everything one needs but the price was affordable. Great location and great service.
Clean and wonderful place , loved the bar and restaurant downstairs
The whiskey in the basement is clutch
Lovely friendly staff. Spartan but clean comfortable bed and shower. Nice white noise from the HVAC. Right across street from Metro entrance
Midweek Caps Game!
Excellent staff and right in the middle of everything DC has to offer. We stayed midweek to catch a Capitals game. It’s a 5 minute walk to the arena gate and surrounded by places to eat and drink. The rooms are “comfy sized” (150sq ft) but have everything you need. The bed was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!
.
Very clean and convenient, parking was only a block away and walkable to the arena
I love how the property was in the heart of all functions . Restaurants were walking distance, museums, and bars. I also love how the safety protocols for the residence were solely designed with a swipe key card to enter the hotel lobby, hotel elevators, rooms , and code for public restrooms.
The stuff were very friendly.
Clean and nice in total.
It was one of favorite places to stay. It was perfect for just me. It was centrally located for what I wanted to see and visit. The experience was perfect and I loved the minimalist look.
Great location. Tight room but it didn’t matter for one night near a Caps game. Friendly & knowledgeable front desk. Loved it and would do it again if I needed a night in Penn Quarter or Chinatown. Don’t bring families here though; it’s tight in the rooms, although the bathroom was much bigger than I thought relative to the rest of the room. This was a 10/10 experience for my first night in DC and specific to a Caps game.
Just enough--nothing extra
This was exactly what we needed for a one-night stopover in DC. Super convenient location (easy to drive to, relatively inexpensive parking across the street, major Metro station just steps away) with lots of restaurants and stores and museums in easy walking distance. The room was really small, but exactly what we needed: a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom, and no unnecessary frills. All at a very reasonable price. I was quite delighted with our first visit, and will likely come back the next time we're in town. I should also note that the staff was very friendly and helpful, and there is a cafe and a bar right in the building.
This is a lovely Hotel and very close to all of the important areas in Washington
The hotel is a vibe!
The room was soooo small, I had no idea that’s what 125 square feet looked like. It was good for the cost and the hotel staff were super friendly. I I wish I would have taken advantage of the cafe in the lobby, I only had a double espresso at checkout and it was really good. All in all, I would come back but would get a larger room.
Great stay, extremely friendly staff, walkable to EVERYTHING, super close to the Metro, Capital one arena, National Mall and all other sites.
Great experience
We brought our teenagers up to DC for some great food and cultural experiences after Christmas. Location was amazing: walked to Smithsonian, high end shopping (Dior, Chanel, Hermes, etc), and some great restaurants. Staff was amazingly cheerful and helpful, hotel restaurant was solid. Would definitely return.
Excellent location for wizards’ game.
