Very beautiful newly renovated Lodge just outside Etosha .The facility is very well maintained and beautiful with nice design elements. Dinner and Breakfast was amazing. Very friendly Staff. Specifically our Tour Guide Jeffery. We will return.
Lovely relaxing stay
We had a great time in Mokuti for 3 nights, the staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The facilities were in great condition and the food was also good (considering im vegan)
Highly recommended
A superb hotel in lovely grounds very close to Etosha. We enjoyed excellent service and delicious meals. The pool area was very comfortable, and the pool itself large - just right for exercise after a day driving around the park. We visited the Reptile Park, guided by Junias, and also went on a Night Safari guided by Emma. Both were very informative and enjoyable. Our famil rooms were spacious and well appointed. Would recommend highly.
We stayed four nights here while we explored Etosha. We traveled as an extended family of seven and had two rooms, it was the perfect set up. We did multiple game drives and Emma was an incredible driver!! Breakfast and dinner are buffet and lunch is a la carte. All of the food was delicious and so convenient. It is a huge property with a gym, large pool, spa, and reptile park. The facilities and style are contemporary.
Wish we could have stayed longer
Very nice property and just 200m away from Etosha NP Gate. Lovely pool area, nice bar and good food. Toilet was not clean after CheckIn and charge for tennis rackets haven‘t been mentioned while handing out for the kids for 15 min. Fully charged and no intention to cancel the charge, bad customer service
Very good location, right on the doorstep of Etosha. They also have some animals on the grounds including bontebok, dik dik, and mongoose. The best thing is the game drive in an open safari vehicle. We had a guide named Emma who was amazing! She helped us spot 11 lions, 2 cheetahs, and 2 rhinos. You should ask for her.
Very disappointing
I was really looking forward to this hotel from the pictures and yes the communal areas are fab but no one has thought of practicalities and comfort. There are about 20 parking spaces for 85 rooms, folk were parking dangerously and we couldn’t get a space. One receptionist on duty at 5pm. The children’s room in the family room has one very small, very uncomfortable Z bed which doesn’t even open flat. The grouting in the bathroom needs redoing. There are 12 sun loungers for 180 guests, so many disappointed - the pool isn’t heated and loungers in shade so even if you get one it isn’t comfortable to sit after a swim. This place could be so much( better with some thought.
Beautiful lodge right outside Etosha gate
The Lodge, rooms and grounds were beautiful. We went on game drives with excellent guides and enjoyed the spa. The buffet breakfast and dinner is very good and staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Wonderful accommodation with a fantastic pool, great wellness services (I can recommend the neck-back massage) and super delicious food. Very helpful and kind staff! Just a great place to stay!
A good deal
This is a nice place to stay when visiting Etosha. The food was good. The property is nice. The service was great.
I enjoyed my stay and will definitely call back. Your workers are so friendly, neat place with privacy.
Beautiful
Wished I’d had another night here, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and the grounds beautiful, very close to Etosha on the eastern side of the park, I can’t fault it.
A+
I really enjoyed staying here! It was a great stop over before entering the eastern most side of Etosha. This lodge provides excellent service, luxury rooms, and great amenities.
Lovely rooms. Very convenient to Etosha, obviously, but a nice place to relax regardless of the location.
Great ambiance and service and food. The food service manager was exceptional. The wildlife on the grounds was great fun to watch. Two mongoose families of 15 each confronted each other in a territory dispute.
The beauty and stillness of nature within the lodge
Great property, this is our third visit, great location, friendly, helpful staff.
Wonderful service and dinning
Lovely rooms. Very Clean. Very helpful staff. Beautiful property. Wonderful dining experience. Best food, especially the meats, of our whole trip.
The Staff are excellent in particular the reception team are very good and i had especially good service from Christoline.
Nicest accommodation in Namibia - but no waterhole
This was the nicest place we stayed on our 2 week tour of the country. Warm towel and free juice upon arrival. Gorgeous and large room. Two pools, nice bar area, huge buffet meals (better food than buffets IN Etosha). The room was a little low on lighting, but you don't spend much time there. While this was cheaper and nicer than other places we stayed, when staying IN Etosha, you get to be in Etosha after dark, and the floodlit waterhole was one of our best experiences. We heard some private reserves also have floodlit waterholes, so that's a major disadvantage. Overall, highly recommend - just don't make it the only place you stay at Etosha.
Wonderful Vacation Stay at the gate to Etosha Park
Our family had a wonderful stay at this lodge in Etosha. Service was excellent! The staff welcome you with cooling towels and drinks and help you through a smooth check-in. The lodge is very well maintained. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, have Air Conditioning, fridges, TVs, WiFi, nice bathrooms, and very comfortable beds and sofas. The rooms stay cool, so there is no bugs. The dinner and breakfast buffets were outstanding for the food selection and the excellent service from the wait staff. The wait staff made it a great experience for the kids! This place is great for the facility and amenities, and for the outstanding service from the staff as well! The lodge has some antelopes roaming around some areas, which was fun to see. In addition the lodge has an entertaining big reptile park for the kids. There is a big lounge, a souvenir shop, two bars and a restaurant. The three pool area is very nice and clean. Furthermore, there are two tennis courts, a spa, and a small gym with very good equipment. It was fun working out in the gym and seeing a dik-dik hoping by in the bush outside through the glass wall. The location right by the Entrance to Etosha made it so convenient to go into Etosha on Safari day trips and come back to the lodge to relax. The lodge also provides its own Etosha tour services and has a gas station and parking for those who self-drive. This place is a gem and a wonder of its own, and we strongly recommend it for families on Safari trips to Etosha!
the hotel is lovely and very close to Etosha Park gate, the best thing about the hotel is the staff all very friendly and helpful, in particular one of the receptionists Christaline was a fantastic help to me in the week i spent there, she always went out of her way to help me and was an absolute joy to chat to.
A gem in Etosha Park
This place is real gem, an oasis near the Etosha National Park. Highly recommend it.
Awesome lodge, in a great location!
Amazing lodge in an awesome setting. While the lodge was quite large, the service was amazing, the grounds were awesome and the rooms perfect. We also did 2 safari drives, which were fantastic. Wish we had stayed 3 nights rather than 2. It took us 6 hours to drive from Windhoek and be aware that there were police (unmarked) after dark who required us to stop while turning onto the park road. This was to stop Rhino poaching but was a little worrisome.
Great Experience
Staff professional and friendly. Food was good. Great ambiance and value for money
The property is beautiful, the staff are friendly, but reception needs training.
Very good hotel to stay at least 2 nights. It’s next to one of the Etosha’s entry so you can refresh in the pool at the midday rest time.
Nice Lodge just a few hundred yards from Etosha
Friendly animals graze on the lawn make this an unusual experience
Good location, nice grounds
Great location, right outside of the namutoni gate. The grounds are nicely kept. Wifi is unreliable. The dinner is also pricey compared to Namibian eateries.
Stunning !!
This was such a memorable stay. Mokuti Lodge was awesome. Beautiful room and gardens. The food at the restaurant was great. Breakfast was delicious!!
Nice place with meerkats and impalas around
Room was relatively small and simple, but it has everything one needs from fridge to shower, etc. Surroundings is beautiful. Restaurant is good with nice self-served dinner. We appreciated especially the rich choice of starters. Prices were also not bad for such a place.
Beautiful setting, could use better upkeep
The staff made the stay. Everyone was kind and helpful through our time there. The food was excellent as well. Additionally, in the morning, we realized we had a flat tire from a slow leak. The staff helped us try to patch the tire, and assisted with putting on a spare. We couldn't be thankful enough!
Double charged for room
My stay was good, however I got double charged for the room because they received no confirmation from hotels.com. It's been 5 days and I still haven't been refunded.
Convenient to eastern gate of Etosha National Park
Comfortable and convenient place to come back to after touring Etosha.
Decent property, horrible service
The property itself is a bit dated but not bad. Sleeping rooms have been renovated more recently than the common areas, with comfortable beds and modern bathroom fixtures. Location is excellent, with the park entrance just literally a few meters down the road. Service really could not have been much worse. Read my other reviews--I am not at all a picky person. But from arrival to departure service was really awful. We arrived late afternoon and no one was at reception; when we found someone, he disappeared for ten minutes looking for someone who could check us in. Pretty much every interaction had that same flavor, with staff either absent or indifferent. Worst of the worst was ordering a hamburger for lunch and literally finding a piece of sausage link sticking out of it, then finding a long string of sausage casing as I bit into it. The kitchen had clearly just mixed the leftover breakfast sausage links into some ground beef and called it a day. When I brought this to the server's attention and sent it back, he looked at me like I was being overly particular, and then still put it on the bill until I asked for it to be removed. We would not go back here again. There are many game lodge options in this area, including Mushara very nearby. No excuse for this level of service.
Nice lodge.Very nice staff people
Beautiful and pleasant stay. Wonderfull conditions for resting with animals and nature. Food very good and presentation.
Beautiful garden with wild anmals
Reception and gardens are extremely beautiful. Very good atmosphere. There are various wild animals, such as mangooses, squirrels, small and large antelopes in the garden.
The staff were very helpful. Loctation airfield
Too short. But Very pleasant
Great facilities in remote location
all staff very friendly and helpful. Waiting staff and especially chef went out of their way to help with restricted diet. Magic was performed and they gave the impression that it was no trouble at all. And, meals were very, very tasty. Cannot thank them enough.
Great for the whole family
We stayed here with our son, daughter in law and three year old grandson. We all enjoyed it. Good facilities...tennis, gym, outside bar area, lots of sidewalks, playground. Generous buffets for breakfast and dinner. Rooms (we had two suites) were comfortable and quiet. The staff was very tolerant of our little one. I always felt like someone had an eye out for him. A very unhurried atmosphere, although our last night there were two big bus groups and things were definitely busier feeling. Nice little gift shop. Close to park. We toured on our own and saw everything from lions to rhino to giraffes to elephants. We joked about, "Oh, it's just a zebra" after seeing so many. Lovely hotel, lovely experience.
Lodge style hotel next to Etosha Pk East entrance.
The grounds and convenient location are the best features of this hotel. We saw several animals grazing in the grounds, which includes pools and a reptile park. Half-day game tours are available. Very friendly staff. We stayed only three nights.
Great for Etosha
Really close to the gate for Etosha, which was great for us. The hotel grounds are beautifully laid out and are really well looked after. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast and dinner were great, plenty of choice and well cooked.
A good base for game viewing in the Etosha Park
We flew with a small plane to the airstrip next to the Lodge, which was very convenient. The facility is beautifully landscaped, and with some wild (friendly) animals roaming around on the grounds. There is no town or other facilities next to the lodge. We took a couple of good game drives to the nearby Etosha National Park.
Lovely retreat after Etosha
Had a luxury 'suite'. Very nice room - good size with privacy. Staff were helpful when we arrived with a flat tyre. Dinner was a braai buffet but as we're vegetarians after a little persuasion of the service manager, the chef made a special vegetarian main (which was absolutely fantastic!!!). The only complaint was that the waitress serving our section completely disappeared after the starter and so we had to clear our own plates and ask a number of staff where we could get the bill from. It did take about half an hour until we finally received it. The staff on other sections did seem to work very hard so I think we may just have been unlucky. The grounds are nice to wander around, the bar was a nicely presented and well stocked area and the pool looked like a nice place to relax. The reptile area is worth visiting.
Great base to visit Etosha National Park
Wonderful lodge just outside Namutoni Gate of Etosha National Park. Rooms are stylish and well-equipped, and set in extensive beautiful gardens where antelope wander the lawns. Food is great and service impeccable. Of a fortnight travelling through Namibia, this was our favourite lodge by a wide margin.
Excellent Hotel.
It was really close to the park's entrance. Everything was comfortable, the food was really good,
Perfect location for etosha
We received a warm welcome on arrival and the staff were superb throughout our four night stay. There was plenty to do with a lovely pool, tennis courts, snooker room and spa. The hotel is ideally placed for visits into Etosha and we took two game drives and had the same knowledgeable guide on both occasions who explained everything about the animals and birds in detail. Meals were very good and breakfast, in particular was excellent. The hotel manager went out of his way to speak to guests and to ensure that we were happy with our experience.
lovely place but small room
the place was lovely, the food buffet excellent, service was reallyt good, the staff kind and polite, a warm welcome when you arrive, good WIFI connection.
wonderful place, conveniently located near Etosha
This is a great place with wonderful accommodations and good food. Delphina from the staff was particularly attentive and helpful. Thank you! Highly recommended if you need to stay close to the Lindequist Gate.
great location
Pleasant stay. Clean and comfortable family units. Dinner not up to standard
we loved it here
Perfect location, beautiful mature gardens. Excellent food. The manager responded rapidly to a query and sorted it out immediately in a friendly way. My only request is that the hotel consider offering an alternative smaller meal option in the evening- the full buffet was too much for teenage girls...but they would love to come back here.
Paradise in Africa
Animals near the room and the swimming pool! just amazing!
Great location
One of the best Lödges
Etosha Park around the Corner
The hotel is the ideal location for a visit to Etosha Park. Antelopes and a giraffe live and roam the property freely. The restaurant service was good. Difficult to book spa appointments. We had car trouble and were given excellent help upon arrival. You can also gas up there, something that is critical in the area. The rooms have been recently renovated and very tastefully done. Water pressure, cleanliness was all great. They need to work on getting the front desk up to speed. They were not very professional.
Very comfortable stay
Grounds are quite nice, wifi connection was good, and Simon in particular was an excellent manager and host. Overall very professional, and a very nice stay.
excellent in every respect
We booked a safari suite which offered a twin-bedded room and a separate lounge area with a fridge/minibar and kettle. The suite was very spacious, well-kept and comfortable. Staff were very helpful in relation to arranging TV channels (to see some football), information about the locality, dietary requirements and other minor matters. The grounds in the resort are well-maintained and the resident kudu are very entertaining. We could find no fault with this hotel and it offered everything needed for a restful stay towards the end of a long trip round Namibia
Disappointing stay at expensive lodge
Disappointing stay at this rather expensive lodge. I t appeard that the current managment was not able to keep up the standard. Rooms small and malodour in bathroom. Not enough sunloungers and towels at the pool. The pool and poolside was dirty and was not cleaned during the day despite heavy and noisy use of large families. There was only one restaurant with buffet instead of advertised 2 restaurants. Food quality was average. Bad service at the pool bar. Staff friendly but overwhelmed and not informed/trained.
Great hotel for anyone
The hotel is right at the Eastern gate of Etosha and is SO convenient for safaris. The place is great, only downfall is that the rooms are rooms and not individual bungalows, and the dinner is a bit expensive (but delicious). We went as a couple but with some family members who had a 3 year old. The child was happy visiting the reptile park, the pools and running around the open land. The land is also a game reserve and we saw a giraffe eating outside the room one dawn-- very exciting!
Kempinski Mokuti Lodge - OLD and TIRED
Lovely location and a hotel with beautiful facilities - pool, dining room and grounds - but everything felt faded and old. Like it was being maintained, the mosquito nets on our bed were mended and discolored, and the sofa old and saggy... Feels like staying in a place that was once magnificent but has not been revamped or updated. Would not recommend it really after staying inside the Etosha camp at Namutoni which was fresh, modern and clean. Staff were nice, but not overly helpful.
Wonderful Mokuti
absolutely perfect
convenient for Etosha trips
Lovely surroundings, beautiful garden and pool area. charming with the animals around - mongoose, antilopes etc. Just the rooms could have more windows with fly screens to allow listening to nature while inside the rooms.
Mokuti kan het beter?
Architectonisch mooi vormgegeven resort met uitstekende kwaliteit.
Alles war perfekt. Mitarbeiter waren immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Amazing lodge with all amenities just outside Etosha park gate. Friendly staff and great activities.
Super
Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt
Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich!
Excellent séjour! Tout était parfait
Such a nice lodge. Not sure if the porice is justified. But everything was spot on. Nice and friendly people as well. We had a great time.
Not well maintained, limited selection at dinner and breakfast, no WIFI in guest rooms. Good shower, nice garden.
Amazing hotel right by the gate to Etosha. Newly renovated main areas, room was very nice and clean. Staff sometimes seemed to be rather very well trained but impersonal in their communication (maybe due to recent reopening). Would highly recommend this property to anyone.
Hervorragende Küche, bester Service in allen Belangen.
Tres reposant
Fantastisk dejlig logge - afslapning og forkælelse
Excellent service på alle områder. Omgivelser er velholdte og rolige. Området giver god plads til afslapning. Værelserne var over forventning.
Clean, comfortable, and right at the Etosha gate
We have been in Etosha several times and regret not having booked here before. We had one night at Mokuti lodge, because we were afraid not reaching the Etosha gate in time for the evening closure. The night after we stayed in NWR Namutoni. We regret not using Mokuti both nights. Mokuti is SO much mire clean, comfortable and welcoming. The service is very good, food wonderful, room spotlessly clean, wifi of the best I have seen in Namibia. Pool was large enough to swim in and they had a pool bar and enough towels. Small squirells, banded mongooses and antilopes wandering freelee around. A visit to their reptile park was also very nice . It was costly, but worth every bit of it, especially when comparing to Namutoni, which actually is more expensive if you are a foreigner. It is right outside Namutoni gate, so you miss nothing by not staying inside the park. Next time I wiuld have booked more nights at Mokuti to make full use of their facilities and pool area instead of Namutoni.
