Great location, close to everything. Staff are amazing!!
Great location, friendly staff, early check in, very walkable. Great 1 night stay at a reasonable price for downtown Vancouver. Would stay again.
Great spot..a little loud for my liking other then that great, clean, friendly...beds not so good.
Moda is small and comfortable. Well located for attractions and bus lines.
Did not receive a great experience
nice area
Big groups of 20 something year olds loitering in the hallway, felt like a hostel with private rooms
Cute boutique hotel
Nice property, newly remodeled. The room smelled like paint however which I'm sure will fade over time.
It’s was clean, quiet and reasonably priced. I would stay there again without question.
Very convenient location for downtown activities
We were very happy with the hotel. Very clean, staff was very helpful with every question we asked. Great location. Everything you could need so close by. Will definitely stay again
Although the building seems a little old, it was while worth it for the price that I paid for. It is situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver and nearby restaurants, making it walkable to various areas of downtown. Would definitely come back.
This is a cute, affordable hotel in the heart of the city. It's a heritage building so it has character and is not a cookie-cutter chain property. The staff were super friendly and I loved my room - it was well decorated and the space was perfect. The restaurant and bar were awesome too.
Little updates needed. But great.
Moda Hotel is in an old building that is nicely updated and right across from the Orpheum Theatre. There are multiple bar and dining options on the first floor. Parking and check in were initially confusing but well explained once we called the desk on arrival. The bathtub in our room looked like it has been through a lot with the bottom chipping, in a tight bathroom. But it was all we needed for one night. Nice to have a mini fridge in room and everything else we needed
Excellent location, staff are very friendly. Hotel is very clean. Recommend.
Staff was great, building is older but rooms were clean and area was quiet and safe at night.
Friendly staff, location was perfect for walking to many points of interest!
Staff was great and helpful. Good restaurants three blocks away. Fun walking around downtown. Room was comfortable with good coffee.
Very kind staff and comfortable stay. Thank you.
Great staff!
The hotel is in an older building, and the age can’t be covered up easily. Staff were extremely kind and helpful.
Everything was great! Only thing I'd say is parking is a bit tricky and a bit of a walk, we packed light so it wasn't bad. But I guess that's normal to expect for downtown Vancouver!
What a fun location to be in, you’re right off of shopping and party area. The hotel is old as it’s been around since 1904! So the building is old, which means you can hear everything. People walk, music from the room, etc. we were luck to be in a bigger suite and loved it. The windows open up to let in a lot of fresh air, the street below is a loud one so if you’re looking to sleep at an early time on the weekend, drown out the sound with tv or earplugs. The vibe inside is so cute and the staff are knowledgeable on things to try. We unfortunately had some used items (slippers) in our room which wasn’t nice to feel but they quickly corrected the issue. The plumbing is old so the toilet isn’t equipped for heavy use, so keep that in mind. But overall I would stay here again for the price and location, everything is a minimum of 15-20 min walk. We loved it and can’t wait to visit again soon!
Staff were helpful and polite and the hotel was excellent value for its location.
I had to wipe everything before I sat down. Carpet was sticky and left my shoes on the whole time. Tv didn’t work. AC didn’t work. Loud people in the rooms beside and above. Great place for location, and just over $200. Bed was clean, but nothing else was. (Toothpaste in sink, hair on things, visible mystery splashes on walls and switches)
Everything was very clean, bed was comfortable and front desk was always nice
The property is basic and met our needs. It was not a bad stay. But, it is an older property and could use some refreshing. Most frustrating was the lack of ability to control temperature in our room. It was unexpectedly warm for the season, so the room was hot & stuffy. Our only option was to open the window, which then brought in the sounds of a busy nightlife outside. Staff was a bit aloof.
Walkable
We had a great stay and the staff were wonderful. Was great location. We will come back for another stay.
It was clean and the beds were comfortable
Strategic location
Great location, accessible to public transport, food and shopping!
The moda is conveniently situated, and very funky / cool characteristic decor.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was lovely and super helpful. The room, while smaller than a chain hotel, was well appointed and comfortable. Parking takes a bit of coordination, but with guidance from the front desk, it goes soothly. Our only quibble is the mattresses are a bit too firm.
This hotel’s conveniently located a block away from the end of Robson St. Lots of food and shopping around. Granville island was easily accessible by bus; bus stop was a couple blocks away. However we wanted to use the mini fridge in our room to store some stuff but it smelled really bad. We also couldn’t get our air conditioning to work so we had to open the windows or else it was too stuffy. Because we had to open our windows, it was very noisy throughout the night. Though we didn’t call the staff for help with air conditioning (we were exhausted from travelling the whole day), I’m sure the staff would’ve helped as they seem friendly and approachable.
Staff are always so friendly and helpful. Good location to get to Roger’s Arena. Great price point for what we need.
Stayed here mostly based on price. Parking situation is a bit complicated. Give yourself a lot of extra time to get in and out of parking if you are using their parking option. While inexpensive, the cost in time is not negligible. Room was very basic, on smaller side. Has European vibe to it. Doors still use magnetic cards. Not sure if that matters from a security perspective, but it is almost like receiving a physical key for a room, which is unusual these days. Only real complaint was that HVAC seemed to not work as expected. Room was too warm. AC didn't work, might have been seasonal thing. Other than that, can't think of anything really wrong with the place, but it felt a little suss as the kids like to say. It had a slightly Barton Fink meets contemporary European vibe. IF you need a cheap place to stay in DT Vancouver, go for it, but if you are sensitive to quality, probably want to spring for something a little higher priced. Lots of casual food in area. Seems to be a music / club district. Young vibes.
Friendly staff, terrible property
The staff we talked to, were amazing, but the good experience stopped there. We were placed right beside a wooden staircase that was terribly noisy, the whole building sqeeks and there is absolutely no sound proofing. While staff was cleaning the room upstairs, it felt like the roof was coming down. The building is old, not kept up and stinks. The bathroom and the bed was clean. I've cancelled my next stay.
We'd definitely consider this place next time. We did a lot a walking around , rented bikes at Stanley park went to the theater - a very convenient location. It wasn't the Fairmont but quite nice for the price. Staff was top notch.
Very close to everything. Traffic noise is noticeable.
It was in great spot for what we had planned, however was quite disappointed when we couldn’t even fully open the door to the room due to the non spacious bed arrangements. On top of this the dirt on the blinds and decaying bathtub.
The bed was hard and it was hot in the room.
Staff was very good. The hotel smells like mold and decay. The floors are slightly tilted and creaky. Carpets were very dirty. Furnishings and bed are old and of low quality. The bedding was clean but of the lowest quality.
good experience and good service
Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Everything was clean and exceeded expectations. Parking was provided at an extra charge in a parking garage just across the street, which was very easy to access. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book another stay here in the future!
.
a treasure
fast check in very helpful front desk staff great room excellent location always a great stay
The property was clean and hard character. Room was clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Great location for walking downtown. Would definately stay again
Moda hotel is a great stay if you're in Vancouver for a weekend getaway. The location is great! You're in the heart of downtown with an ease of transportation to your next stop. Wether its by foot, train, bus, you name it! You'll be there in no time. It will definitely stay on my radar for any future visits to Vancouver of mine.
Nice boutique hotel, room was clean and it was in a good location
Good
Kind staff and great neighborhood!
Great affordable stay
This property is exactly how it reads, it's a simple fairly clean boutique hotel. The building is old, has been updated but the updates are showing some wear. Overall great location, easy stay. This is not a luxury property but perfect for young travellers or a quick business trip with one or two night stay.
Great staff and location. Clean rooms and quiet
So helpful
The location was very good and the staff was very helpful. The front desk gave us an umbrella and useful directions. They also noticed my hands were full and helped with the elevator. We will be staying here again!
Excellent location! Easy to walk in any direction Downtown. Friendly service.
My friend and I stayed 2 nights at Hotel Moda and were delighted by the location. There was easy (walkable) access to fun sites and great restaurants in all directions. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has a lot of character as an old building, which is what we were going for. Yes, the elevator might be a little slow and the parking a little inconvenient (as other reviewers have pointed out), but it wasn't a problem at all for us. We would definitely stay there again.
Really nice clean hotel and the staff are friendly and helpful. Good location in downtown Vancouver
This hotel is close to many venues. We went to The Vogue from here and it was less than a 2 minute walk. There was parking nearby in a parkade. It isn't large, and lots of twists and turns to get to the hotel's space, but it was close and secure. It was nice to have dining options in the hotel too. We both thought the bed was too firm for our liking, but for a one night stay that was so convenient for our venue, this was fine. The hotel staff were SUPER helpful and kind.
Friendly, helpful staff. Storing bags and all day parking make it an ideal spot to stay for a quick stay in Vancouver
The location was absolutely perfect, the stuff were amazing we will definitely be staying here in the future again!
Affordable downtown location
It was perfect, well located, the staff was really nice and I had a nice sleep :) thank you!
The hotel staff was super kind and accommodating when we arrived. The location is in an ideal spot for food and leisure, all are within walking distance of the hotel. My only complaint would be that our AC unit didn't work but leaving the window open was an easy fix.
our go to hotel, perfect location to shop or eat
I always stay at this hotel because I feel comfortable and safe. The staff are professional and friendly
liked the price of the hotel as compared to the others around the area. it was clean and quiet. staff was good.
Good
Aside from navigating the parking situation, it was fine.
Perfect location
Very friendly and accommodating staff; safe and secure parking. The room seemed dirty, had a musty smell, the bed was uncomfortable, the bedsheets felt cheap, the bathroom looked dirty and the floorboards felt weak. A little noisy due to the location. The location is very convenient for a night out in the city.
Absolutely great & prompt service from the front end staff from the time I arrived to the time I left. Very friendly & helpful. A little noisy with transient folks but it is what’s expected downtown. The room was clean, comfortable, & had everything you’d need for a place to sleep.
Ok
Friendly staff, great location, nice lounge. The parking was weird but we figured it out. Quiet and clean.
room was worn down with carpet stains, and mold stains in the bathroom. Needs a refresh.
We stay at this hotel every time we travel to Vancouver . The location is amazing and the rates are super fair !
Location couldn’t be any better, for an evening out at the Commodore ballroom. The lady at the front desk on March 6/25 was friendly and very accommodating. The coffee shop/restaurant on site was excellent and the young woman working on March 7/25 was fabulous. Best coffee I have had in a long time. Overall, I would stay here again. Be aware that parking is across the street in a parkade. The neighborhood has lots of street people so be mindful about leaving valuables/items or in your car.
It was pretty close to station, so you just walk down the street for a few minutes. And the staffs were really kind!! I had to leave my luggage for a several hours after checkout, they kindly accepted! I was grateful for their kindness!!
It was great. Close to Granville entertainment district.
Awesome location.
Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Location is perfect for entertainment, eats etc
Staff were good, friendly and willing to accommodate. The room was not like the pictures, dated, old carpet and one of the worst mattress I have ever experienced. We had booked this room as attending a nearby event and wanted to enjoy our evening. We ended up leaving at 4am, could not sleep on the bed as it was so uncomfortable and room was HOT. When asked about temperature was told the AC was not turned on for the hotel but I could open the window?!?!? Downtown noise is not what I want to hear when sleeping. When trying to check out the front desk was occupied as on the phone with 9-1-1, early he was dealing with drunks in the lobby, well it was an experience let’s say that!
Older building but was very clean.
i’ve stayed here twice now and it’s easy super clean my go to place
Nothing fancy but not terrible. Small room but clean
We like it's walking distance to Rodgers Arena. It's clean, bed is comfortable.
Friendly staff, nice rooms.
Very friendly service upon check in and check out. Lovely cleaning staff. Room was very ckean. Older tv....did not work well.
We have stayed at this hotel before and we love it. It’s one of the more affordable hotels and located in such a perfect location for us. This is always our #1 choice when we visit Vancouver, and the staff are wonderful.
Outstanding Hotel!
Everything was nice and comfortable
Positive stay
Friendly staff, comfortable room
Friendly clean quiet
Great stay
Clean quiet and comfortable room , close to events......love this place and always a good stay
The staff were very nice and the room was comfortable and quiet.
A great spot to stay downtown with numerous stores and restaurants nearby, also only a short walk to City Centre station!
A great place to be
Very good location, (at a walking distance of many attractions) very clean, staff helpful and polite. Good shower. Excellent breakfast.
Nice little hotel, directly across the street from the venue where we were attending a show. Super friendly staff. Nice bar and restaurant attached.

Home away from home.
yes, services was very accommodating when it came to me needing to have one of the reservations canceled. The staff was very helpful when it came down to suggestions for things to do in the area.
