Nice staff !

We stayed at double room. Room size is decent for hotel in Tokyo and equipped with basic amenities such as slippers, pyjama, tea & coffee, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner (no body lotion). Other amenities can be found at lobby. There are vending machines, microwave and laundry machine on 3 floors. You can check status of laundry machine on in room TV. Right opposite Ueno JR station and there is underground exit right next to hotel. There are many shops and convenient stores near by. Staffs are super friendly.

I've stayed here 3 times in the last 2 months. I find the check-in annoying. They have a staff standing around to help with machines you are suppsoied to use to check-in. Of all 3 times of trying the machine check in ... staff had to manually check me in. It's annoying. Otherwsie location is great, hotel is clean. I've stayed in many places in the area over the years and I think this is the most convenient. But that comes with a busy and small loby and and an often clogged building enterance with docile tourists. Would love a traditional check-in.

Great location. Very close to Ueno station. The staff are very helpful. The only problem we had is the space in the room. It is oddly designed with big desk around window and non factional big side table next to one side of the bed. The another side of bed is against the wall which is okay for one person. But for two people it is very difficult to get out. And there are no drawers at all. You just have to put everything on the huge table. The room is too small to open a mid sized suitcase. The bathroom is very nice though.

Perfect location near Ueno Station and walking distance to Kappabashi and Ueno Park, concert hall and museums

Rooms are very small and dated. Nowhere in rm for two suitcases. Would not stay here again due to size of room.

The location is very convenient as it is close to the Ueno Station. Walkable distance to restaurants and stores. Room is not big but it’s Tokyo so understandable.

A Nice Place to Stay when in Ueno

Very convenient place to stay when visiting Tokyo. Ueno station is just across the street. Shopping, dining and Ueno park are all nearby. Hotel and room was clean and well appointed. Room was small, but accepted that as a trade-off to being central in Ueno. Staff are polite, friendly and professional.

Good hotel and convenient location

If you need a satisfactory hotel near Ueno Station, this does the job. Across the street from the Asakusa Gate. The area around the station on this side is nothing special, but you can easily get to other parts of Tokyo from here and it is convenient to Narita via the Skyliner. While everything in the hotel worked, everything also felt a little below par. Our room was small and unlike the other three hotels on this trip had no "eco-friendly" cleaning option. The hotel breakfast was OK, but served in a cramped space that occasionally generated queues. Staff were very good with adequate English.

Ueno perfect stay

Great location for sightseeing, museums, access to trains and buses. Great local restaurants and services. Nice rooms, clean and friendly, helpful staff.

Nice room but

Beds were nice, big and comfy. Rooms were fairly large by japanese standard. My only complaint was the air from the air duct hitting my face while lying on my bed. I couldn’t find a way to deflect it

Mitsui Garden Hotel was the perfect location for our Tokyo adventure! The hotel was comfortable for being small. The blackout shades made sleeping great. The accomodations were just right, as we did not spend much time in our room. The service by the staff was exemplary!!! The breakfast was very satisfying. The overall quality of the property was very good. Thank you for making our first Tokyo experience fantastic.

Great hotel

Hotel is conviently located, however traffic patterns are difficult. We found going underground was easire to get around with out all tha t traffic. There are elevators that make it easily accessible.

Well-located. The hotel is close to Ueno Station, which is one of the important terminals in the northern part of the Main island of Japan.

Fabulous accommodation in Tokyo

We stayed here for three nights for part of our winter trip to Japan. The location is super convenient, with easy access via metro, JR or Skyliner (from Narita Airport). It is just a few steps from Exit no. 1 of Ueno station. It is close to Ameyoko (阿美橫丁）and Ueno shopping area, with a lot of dining options. Coin-operated laundry and drying machines are available. Highly recommended.

Location is great arriving from Narita by Skylliner and leaving next day for Sendai by Shinkansen Hayabusa -both stations close to the hotel Breakfast was good as well Will be back again next time to explore the local area in Ueno

It is one of the overpriced hotels. Considering the quality of the hotel, it is way too expensive. I found a cockroach in my room and I got a room changed. Still, it was horrible enough to ruin my trip.

The location is great. It is located in the walking distance from train station. There is convenience store at the opposite side of the hotel. Staff is helpful. Hotel provides necessary standard amenities for staying. The room and public area are clean.

Great place to stay in Tokyo over a weekend. Next to Ueno station. Market, station, metro, park all within very short walking distance. Easy to get to Tokyo Skytree and Akihabara electronic district. Skyliner station for quick return to Narita is also here! Rooms are great in size compared to typical Tokyo hotels.

A+++ Convenience and Cleanness

Very convenient location. Excellent access to train and subway stations. Room was called Superior and located the very top floor, but it was very small. But, the cleanness was super! Overall, it is a very comfortable stay!!!!

In Love With This Hotel in Ueno, Tokyo

What a great hotel to stay close to transportation and excellent breakfast with view of busy street. The house slippers and bath robe, heated toilet seat, and other items, this is a 5 star hotel. Though the room was small it was designed well and it worked great for our 3 night stay and we would stay here again. The location is convenient, close to 2 train stations, beautiful Ueno Park with its gardens, museums and plenty of shopping.

Nothing unique, very basic hotel. No bar in the building but close to the train station.

Great location in Ueno

Our room was rather small (to be expected in Tokyo, I guess)... the room would be great for one person but for two a bit tight. On the plus side, the room & bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated and were stylish and very nice and comfortable. Location near Ueno Station & Park is very convenient... easy to get to and from Narita Intl. Airport as well as to connect via subway to other parts of Tokyo.

We stayed there a week and they would not give us an extra hour on the check-out without additional fees. Our bill was for over 2000.00 u.s. so we felt that customer service was lacking in this area. Also, they charged us twice for the buffet breakfast on April 13 2019. It was an error that should have been corrected by the hotel. The staff follow the rules to the letter and do not focus on additional guests needs.

the location is strategic, the staff are friendly. However, our toilet is not been clean when we check in. It’s quite shock and disappointed. Well, the staff clean it right away.

Very Good location in Ueno ,the size of the room 18 sq Metre is much more comfortable than nearby hotels ,very clean and tidy very good service , and quiet .the staff is very helpful and polite , and the room rate is reasonable. Will stay here again next time visiting Ueno area.

Great Value/Location choice

The value of this hotel is highly dependent on the goals of your trip. If you are looking for a well located, good value hotel as a base for your visit to Tokyo then this is a 5 star choice. It is an incredibly efficient hotel. You can take Skyliner train from Narita Airport to Ueno station and be within 500 meters of the hotel. The trip is about 45 minutes. The hotel is at the intersection of several subway lines somyou have easy access to other parts of Tokyo. There are also restaurants within easy walking distance. I thought the hotel was a great base for our touring plans and was a very cost effective location from a sightseeing standpoint. The hotel is in good condition but the rooms are small and it is not a place I would choose for a romantic couples trip/honeymoon. I thought it was excellent value for $$$.
