Quick overnight stop over

Unable to arrive or leave during office hours, so did not meet staff, but communication re access to room was helpful. Also nice touch was lights on in the room on arrival. Front room experience some road noise, in particular due to trucks parking near to fast food outlet.

Lovely rooms, thoughtfully appointed with comfortable bed, table and chairs and a couch. It was nice to have extra goodies on offer in the fridge, juice, beer wine and milk for tea. Beautiful gardens around the rooms!

Spacious One Bedroom

Spacious one bedroom gave us opportunity to spread out for two night stay. Convenient parking and short drive to clubs, hotels and restaurants. Nice base to explore Gippsland lakes (20 min to Lakes Entrance and Metung.

Relaxing Room

Great hosts and great place to stay

Only stayed one night, bed was comfortable , shower was hot and good pressure. Loved the make up remover face washer lol front door needed some work on it, found it hard to open. Would stay again, when passing through. Didn’t use anything else, just needed a bed and shower.

Internet was lousy. Couldn't watch free to air, pic coming and going. Tried to watch a movie, took longer because it had to reload a number of times. Didn't like the self closing toilet lid as it didn't fit the toilet properly and it would start coming down as you were trying to sit. Mattress was comfortable.

Beautiful quiet space with lovely takeaway Thai food which staff gave us the heads up. Very clean and would stay there again anytime.

The room smelt terrible. Damp and moldy to the point of feeling ill. The facilities are a little outdated, however they were fine. expensive room for the quality.

Great place really enjoyed the stay

Good for a stop over. Bathroom is a bit odd - the only sink is the kitchen/bathroom sink. Shower/toilet door is a semi frostered glass so no true privacy but this is no issues if away with family though. Decent sized rooms

Nice big room, very clean and comfortable, queen size bed great. Walking distance to all the shops and the rsl for dinner.

Clean, tidy & welcoming room. Surroundings were pleasant & pool area well maintained. Receptionist was very helpful & left a list of near by restaurants in the room for me. I had to go to my car to get change of clothes for the next days travel but could not open door with key. All staff had gone home it was after hours. Had to knock on neighbours door for help. He very kindly got it open for me but it took a while he said the locks were tricky.

Property was a convenient stop for us. Arrived before reception closed but had to locate the receptionist - not difficult as she was on the property, but made us nervous! She was absolutely lovely. Gave us a terrific dinner suggestion (Grand Hotel Terminus) and suggested a visit to Raymond Island to see the Koala colony

Just a great place to stay

The place was great and is right in the heart of bairnsdale. A great experience overall

our 3rd stay . Its a great and convenient spot to stay - We love to eat down at the pub near the station and happily walk there and potter home via another route to look at shop windows or the cricket - on our way to Mallacoota . We did find that the type of electric blanket on the bed in room 28 makes the bed very hot to sleep in and hadnt found that trouble the last couple of times .in other bedrooms I unplugged it at both sides from the power board as john said it was on so I had to prove it wasnt !!!!! but noted that it some sort of synthetic cover on it which is probably why . May have to use a woollen underblanket ontop to prevent this !! it was very very humid sat night though !!!!

The staff at Mitchell on Main are just lovely. Made us feel very welcome. Very friendly, polite and easy to chat with.

Next trip to Bairnsdale will again stay at this motel. First rate in every respect.

A fairly standard no frills motel close to the main areas of Bairnsdale. Reasonably quiet and comfortable. Good for a short stay.

Fantasic staff, comfortable room, clean and quiet. There is no separate sink for the kitchenette, but otherwise we couldn't fault the facilities. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable, even swapping over a noisy bar fridge as soon as we menioned it.

Older motel but very clean. Good bed. Included toaster & microwave in the room. Small couch, table and chairs. Good value for money. Would stay again for overnight stop.

This room was comfortable as were the beds. Everything was clean. TV was a little small but otherwise a great place to stay.

Nice clean motel but needs updating the decor in rooms render the walls and freshen them up cosmetically would be a huge improvement but they were nice and clean.

Well maintained, comfortable and clean.will certainly consider staying here on our return trip

Queen room 20 upstairs

Comfortable bed and pillows and clean room. Small area for kettle and toaster with very small fridge. No plates, but were supplied after asking at reception. A fair bit of traffic noise but not so bad if you remember to close the sliding toilet door at night. Shower pressure not the best but workable. Beware of the toaster - sides get very hot!

Good room, just watch the shower floor!

Good room, very clean and smell free. All amenities good, except that the shower floor was extremely slippery when wet. Not due to our soap, but slippery without any soap used. Very dangerous. Otherwise, a very nice stay.

No ceiling fansor bathroom exhaust fan. Has microwave, toaster and jug, cups teaspoons and glasses. Wash basin in bedroom area. No plates or cutlery. There had been some confusion at the motel regarding Our. Changed booking which included additional night. Room had been double booked.

The front staff was friendly but the facilities were disappointing. Our room was rank with stale cigarettes and the room was worn and dirty. The linens were clean and the room looked like it had been cleaned but the floors and furniture looked dirty - like they needed replacing, not just a vacuum.

It was very clean & well presented. My only issue was, being in a ground floor unit, I could hear every time the upstairs units flushed the toilet. This woke me up a number of times overnight. Not a restful sleep.

Management very helpful in changing upstairs room to downstairs. Room set up for disabled which was an advantage for us. Safety rails in shower. Bed was comfortable.We did not like - no microwave, no crockery or cutlery to use with the toaster, slow hot water to sink, no parking at door, restaurant closed

Love the way that the room was designed, the rooms are not directly next to one another, so helps to keep them quiet , and the high ceilings give the rooms a feeling of spaciousness. enjoyed our stay

Lovely and clean - not too far to walk into town but it isn't right in the centre so if you are not mobile you will need your car. Very friendly and helpful hosts.

Get a room away from the front

The service and welcome was very good and the room was good except for the location. A front room at this motel is only metres from the Princes Highway in Bairnsdale and the traffic noise is disturbing. That plus people out the front at 3am and a vehicle leaving the property from directly in front of my room added to a night of disturbed sleeping. I believe a room away from the front of the property would be very good, however I can only review on the experience I had.

For the price, it was a lot better than others I’ve stayed in. Very happy :)

Loved the room and location only negative was not quite enough parking

Was disappointed that I had to explain my card was a credit card and not a debit card. I was informed that someone had cost him $750. That is not my fault. I understand he has to be careful but I had just driven 4.5 hours for someone to tell me my card wasn’t good enough when i new full well it was and it was eventually accepted. That is not what I wanted to hear.

Lovely staff

Very clean facilities , pleasant interior. Great pool . Location is perfect ,close to city centre. We would stay again . Only negative was the coffee and tea in the room ,they were terrible . Please upgrade to new supplier .
