Excellent clean place to stay within the old city in Hanoi that is walking distance to everything. Bit more pricey than other hotels but certainly worth the price the service was amazing and you definitely cannot go wrong staying here.

Excellent front desk staff. Arranged several tours for us in advance, including airport pick up and drop off, food, tour, history tour, and.Halong Bay day trip. Excellent location to all the great sites in Hanoi. If we ever are lucky enough to return to Hanoi in the future, we will definitely stay at Minerva Church Hotel.

Very friendly and very convenient location to church and everything. Early check-in was very appreciated since we didn't have rest and sleep prior to our trip

This hotel really pulls out the red carpet for all guests! Makes you feel very special. Great value for the prices. Location cant be any better. Breakfast is amazing, so fresh! Staff thought of everything including umbrellas during a rain downpour. 10 stars!!

Amazing hotel and incredible Staff

We recently stayed at the Minerva Church Hotel, and it truly blew us away. Right from the start, the staff made us feel at home. Checking in was super quick and easy. The housekeeping team did a fantastic job, keeping everything spotless. One of the best parts was the breakfast included with our stay; the food was not only tasty but also looked great. The location was just perfect—close to all the attractions, shops, and restaurants. The hotel staff was always around to give us helpful tips and make sure we were comfortable. Overall, we had an awesome time, and I definitely recommend this hotel. Can’t wait to go back!

In my opinion, the rates this hotel charges are excessive for what they provide. I slept at a hotel with better, cleaner rooms, and a better breakfast buffet, at considerably lower prices. The hotel's rooms and bathrooms might use some updating. On the edges of their bathroom, I could see plastic grout peeling off and dirty corner moldings. Our sleep was also disturbed by an annoying noise that came from the air conditioner that went on and off throughout the night.

The staff at Minerva Church Hotel are so wonderful! They are kind, helpful and very professional. The hotel is very clean and has an amazing view. Our stay here was amazing!

Central Hotel with Curru

Fantastic location and amazing staff, responded immediately to our minor issues. Small boutique hotel with lovely room. One thing is the indian restaurant on site is not associated with the hotel directly but the food was great there.

The Old Town location is exceptional for a visitor/tourist to Hanoi. Comfortable, safe, interesting. Nearby Ho Hoan Kiem lake is a beautiful park area and center for community activities. The famous Water Puppet theater a short walk nearby. The reception and restaurant staff made every effort to make my visit all it could be.

2 days in Hanoi

From the first moment we entered the door, we were made to feel welcome by the lovely staff, the room itself was very nice & the hotel is in a great part of the city. But the staff set this place apart from the rest.

Great welcome! Right in the centre of the old town next to the church. The staff were very helpful especially Rory who helped us with booking tours and taxis. She even drew us a map with a list so we could discover the old town on our own. Room and breakfast lovely.

We had the most exceptional stay at Minerva Church Hotel. We would give more stars in our ratings if we would. Our deepest gratitude to Sunny, Tung, Lisa, Thomas, Rory and the rest of the staff whose names we unfortunately did not get. Each and every one of them made us feel welcomed and ensured that our stay everyday was comfortable. The hotel is located on a quieter street of the Old Quarter but close to the St Joseph's Cathedral and walkable to every part of town. The hotel is safe, not noisy with many restaurants, cafes and shops on that street alone. The staff were efficient and worked very, very well as a team - from reception to housekeeping to kitchen. Thank you everyone at Minerva Church Hotel. We are so happy that we chose your hotel for our first trip to Hanoi. Highly recommended place to stay in Hanoi's Old Quarter.

Great hotel in the heart of the Old Quarter

We stayed at Minerva Church for a few days as part of a trip to Vietnam and Thailand. It's a small hotel, as many in the area are, but very clean and comfortable. It's an easy walk to Hoan Kiem Lake. There are plenty of food and coffee shops in the area. The staff were superb, offering great suggestions for food and directions and general guidance for the area. The included breakfast was tasty (buffet style and a small selection of made-to-order eggs and pancakes). We didn't get to try the on-site Indian restaurant, but it looked (and smelled) wonderful. We got massages at the spa. Definitely recommend that. Note that there is a Buddhist temple behind the hotel. You will hear morning prayers if you want to sleep in, but it's all part of the experience! Overall, a great hotel. Would totally stay there again.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. We initially booked 2 nights but ended up extended that to 4 nights, (as did another guest we chatted to! 😄). Book the car they offer from the airport. It’s not much different in price compared to the airport taxis and so much nicer for the 45 min journey. Our flight was delayed but they tracked the flights and were there waiting for us when we finally arrived late at night. Perfect location - around the corner from the lake, (which is lovely in the evening and pedestrianised at the weekends). Also only 5-10 min walk to the night markets, beer street, coffee street, train street and other attractions. There is a lovely little temple tucked down a side street very close by too. It was great to just wander and explore this very busy city! Amazing friendly and helpful staff here. Breakfast is great. We all loved the pancakes. We had a double room overlooking the city, which must have had great windows as it wasn’t noisy in the slightest. Our teenage boys had a twin room on the same floor which was also lovely. With only 3 rooms on each of the floors it was ideal for us knowing they were close by. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hanoi.

me and my boyfriend were initially very nervous to book any hotels just because we haven’t travelled outside europe and didn’t really know what to expect but this hotel by far set an excellent tone for the start of our trip and set fantastic standards , when we first arrived we were welcomed with super delicious welcome drinks, smiles and the helpful bellboy took our bags off for us (they were huge bags) and carried them up to our room, he would also consistently open the door for us throughout our stay, every single time we would leave or arrive back at the hotel we would be acknloedged very nicely and they were always making sure that our room and their breakfast was always to our liking , the breakfast was yummy , had plenty of fruit, pastries and vietnamese food, along with very good coffee and hot food (banana pancakes are a must) our room would get cleaned everyday and fresh towels etc would be put in our room, the bed was huge and super comfy and they had some english channels on the tv , the wifi was majority of the time great but sometimes went off and on, but it wasn’t ever that bad, also they were so helpful in booking tours even giving us a little discount as well for booking through them!! also we finished our 5 day stay and wanted to go do a tour a little far away for 3 days in which they agreed to keep our big luggage bags in the hotel and store them for free!! all staff were amazing and spoke great english special credits to lisa she went above and beyond

Good everything , staff , location, and service

Loved this hotel. The location is perfect if you want to spend time in the Old Quarter/Hoan Kiem area. Staff and all accommodations were great. Buffet breakfasts were delicious and offered wide variety of foods (different every day). They were very helpful in arranging day trips and helped us get to our next destination. The St. Augustine room we stayed in was a bit small but very comfortable (as was the mattress…I often have problems with hotel mattresses, but not here). Highly recommend!

Hotel was in an excellent location, the price was very reasonable and the staff was great. There was an unavoidable issue with the room the first night but they arranged for me to go over to a sister hotel and kept me updated on when I could come over and made me feel very welcome in Hanoi, including providing a map with locations to visit while here. In addition they have a little roof patio that has a lovely view of the cathedral in the evening.

The staff is 10/10 - could not be friendlier and more accommodating! And the location is convenient to all the things you’ll want to see as a tourist. The property itself could use some updates (ex needed a step stool to get in & out of bathtub / shower so would not recommend for children or elderly). They’re aware and acknowledged as such, they’re still recovering from being forced to close for a year due to COVID.

Pleasant stay

Hotel is near the cathedral and many coffeehouses etc. Easy walk to much of the area and a lot happening. Breakfast was limited but sufficient.1st room on lower level had a musty smell, and the room on the higher floor did not. But the bathroom in both was not comfortable, the water was escaping down onto floor from shower/bath and was not safe, and the towel hook too far from shower. Staff very friendly and always helpful.

Above and beyond

Loved my time here! The rooms were cozy, but the real MVPs were the staff. Big thanks to Lisa and Thomas for their help, especially with getting around. They spoke great English too, which was a huge plus. Definitely recommend this place for the vibe and the help you get. Worth it!

Minerva Church Hotel is perfectly situated in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. So many options in every direction: cafes, restaurants, landmarks, Hoan Kiem lake, museums, galleries, theatres, shopping. The breakfast (included with the room booking) is very good: hot made-to-order menu, Western foods, Vietnamese options, fresh juices, yogurts, fruit, salads, breads/pastries and espresso machine. The Metis Spa, located in the Minerva Hotel, is excellent and offers a lot of options for relaxation and therapy. Discounts for the spa services are offered for Hotel guests. Tours and private cars can be booked directly through the front desk staff. Most importantly, the incredible reception staff (Lisa and Sunny) are friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, helpful, hardworking and take great care of guests. Highly recommended!

Minerva Church hotel is in a great location: walkable to many street food spots and attractions. Yet, it's not on a busy night scene street, so you won't get the noise at night. The property is dated, but kept very clean. The staff is friendly and will go out of their way to help you with dining/attraction recommendations or logistics.

Highly recommend Minerva Church Hotel.

Minerva Church hotel is located in the heart of the old quarters, convenient to get to most places and yet the room is quiet, clean and lovely. Buffet breakfast is provided and is rather good with a huge spread. A very popular Indian restaurant operates after breakfast is over. Best of all, the staff at Minerva hotel are very service oriented and assist you in every possible way. A big shout out to receptionist Lisa, who goes out of her way to help us 4 elderly ladies throughout our stay there. Thanks for the hospitality and I will surely be back.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The room was beautiful and clean, such a great value. We also loved the location as it was on a street with lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping as well as within walking distance to many popular destinations. But what truly made it special was the staff. They made our stay incredible! Lisa and Kai at the front desk are the nicest people ever and were so helpful and caring. Also the breakfast, which is complementary was really good. Lots of buffet options and an additional menu of hot dishes to order from. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Hanoi!

Had a good stay for one night. The hotel is in the quarter so its walking distance to many places. My room was clean. Bfast can be improved. Staff was okay just that they wanted me to review my stay immediately after and kept calling me several times within a 24hr period. That was annoying as i was focused on trying to get to my next destination. Please leave your guests to review in their own time.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was ideally located near so many great restaurants and the lake and the room was quiet and comfortable. It is a little bit dated and worn, but overall it was a wonderful place. And the breakfast (included) was incredible!

Brilliant stay, the room was no frills but nice and clean and the location is great. When I checked out I left some belongings by mistake, the team worked so hard to get them to me at my next stop. Sending them by courier (at a very low charge) to me, they checked every day to tell me where the parcel was and to reassure me. They arrived today, securely packaged, and I am so grateful. Thank you Do Nhu Quynh, your customer service was outstanding 😊

Fantastic stay in the heart of the old quarter

I had a lovely stay at Minerva hotel. I was only here for one night but felt welcomed straight away. The room was clean and spacious and in the perfect location, within very short walking distance to many beautiful sights, nature and restaurants/cafes. I would really recommend staying here and will hopefully come back soon!

The best thing about the Minerva Church hotel is its location within the Hanoi Old Quarter. It is a few minutes walk to the famous cathedral, dozens of restaurants and cafes, interesting alleys and lanes, and historic buildings from the French era. Very comfortable, modest rooms with decent breakfast and an Indian restaurant on site. Extremely welcoming and helpful staff. Our bathroom needed need a makeover but we didn't worry as we only had a short stay. Very suitable for couples wanting to stay in the heart of Hanoi Old Town.

The location is fantastic, walking distance to so many must see spots around Hanoi's Old Quarter, including amazing food options. The room was clean and comfy, the bed was so comfy. The only negative would be the extra high bathtub. There's a step stool to get in but honestly a walk in shower would make more sense. Plus less cleaning for the housekeepers...who were also so nice and sweet The complimentary breakfast had things for both Western and Eastern tastes plus a hot service, ie eggs to order. But honestly the best part about this hotel is at the front desk. Sunny, Lisa and Thomas. They were fantastic, honestly made you feel like they cared. Especially Sunny, from our WhatsApp messaging the day before to confirm arrival times and making sure I had transportation from the airport to having so much info ready for me about things we talked about on WhatsApp that I wanted to do when I checked in, to just chilling with me after running to hit the elevator button to find out how my day went and what I saw and offering suggestions on what to see next I've stayed in a lot of hotels around the world and I've never had someone treat me like we're actually friends. She's an amazing human who, no matter what she's being paid, needs to be making more Please thank her for me and thank you for the great stay

Breakfast options were had excellent variety. Hotel staff Ha, Thomas and Lisa were so helpful. When it was raining they provided an umbrella need phone adapter they offered it. Wonderful stay in the Old Quarter

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Minerva Church Hotel! The room was super comfortable and had lovely windows. The breakfast was impeccable, we already miss the pho! The staff were very friendly and helped us get laundry done and get a car to the airport.

Hanoi holiday

Excellent small hotel in the middle of the old quarter of hanoi, great location. Staff were extremely helpful and polite.Breafast was a little limited for a westener and not readily re stocked was my only small criticism. Get down early!

A great little hotel right in the heart of Hanoi. situated right in front of the cathedral, it is very local and walkable to all places around the lake. So many eating places you just cant list them all here. Great wifi. Bathroom was great with a lovely deep bathtub to relax in after a hectic days walking the streets of Hanoi and seeing the sights. Breakfast is enough to set you up for the days adventure ahead.

The place is not only new and comfortable but also accessible to most tourist attractions. There are many good food and things to see around that area.

I booked this hotel at the last minute (transferred from a different hotel that was completely unsuitable) and it was the happiest decision made. The rooms are functional, very clean, well-located in the middle of the Old Quarter buzz yet manages to remain quiet once inside. The staff are great, very proactive, would absolutely recommend everyone to stay.

A decent place to stay, location was great ,very convenient to walk around the Old Quarter area, room was comfortable and Henry and the team were fantastic ,very prompt, pro active ,so warm and friendly and they made the stay extra special

A very well positioned hotel with many restaurants and cafes and shops within walking distance. The staff and hotel were excellent for the price paid so good value for money. My only gripe is that the hotel restaurant was vegan so had to eat in another place

This was my first time in Ha Noi. First of all when you first steps in to lobby, the staff greets you with cheerful smile and a warm “Hello” the check-in process was seamless and informative. The décor is unique and modern in sort of a “French Victoria”setting, the room was clean and the AC feels wonderful. Clean and quiet Is all I can say. And Oh boy, the morning breakfast was something that I look forward to in the morning, hearty, delicious and also clean. I spent a total of 6 nights here and about to leave soon sitting here and writing this review while having my last breakfast here at cute Hotel here in old Ha Noi, it’s sad for me to say that I will miss all the staffs here and hopefully one day I will be here again.

Recommend for a night before early flight

The room is clean. Included all basic amenities you needed. The bed is super big and comfortable. The hotel is super close to the St Joseph Cathedral. Perfect for a night before an early flight.

Sehr, sehr freundliches Personal

Das Personal ist super freundlich und spricht perfektes Englisch. Dazu ist die Lage des Hotels perfekt - alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten sind zu Fuß zu erreichen und die Kathedrale gerade mal 100 Meter entfernt. Auf dem Zimmer gibt es Youtube und das Frühstück ist auch zu empfehlen. Preis/Leistung ist absolut unschlagbar - ich komme gerne wieder.

英語が得意ではない私たちのためにゆっくり丁寧に説明してくれたり、とても親切にしていただきました。部屋も広くて綺麗で、朝食のフォーがとても美味しかったです。旧市街からは少しだけ離れていますが、教会の近くはおしゃれなお店が多く歩くのも楽しいです。またハノイに行くことがあれば利用させていただきたいと思います。
