We absolutely loved this hotel! Not only is it beautiful, but the staff were all wonderful and attentive, and the food and wine were superb! Highly recommend!

The property is very nice. All the decorations and details. But is not worth the high price per night. Breakfast was average. We had dinner and it was also average. The drinks were okay.

We found the charm of this hotel so be ultimately romantic. The staff were very professional and took very good care of us. Location is perfect for waking to markets and restaurants. Overall a magical experience

Beautiful hotel

I stayed here last minute because my flight got canceled. Its a beautiful hotel. The rooms and grounds are beautiful. Very high end. I ate at the restaurant which was great. check in was easy.

There was no hot water. We had to shower with cold water The hotel did not offer any explanation or compensation for poor experience.

We loved staying at this hotel in Antigua Guatemala! The restaurant is great, the rooms are beautiful and the location is fantastic, just 4 blocks from the Central Park with lots of stuff around. The only downsides are that the rooms don't have AC so it can get pretty warm sometimes, and the pool is only open from 7am to 11am bc it's next to the restaurant.

What a stunning hotel! Panza Verde exceeded our expectations in every way & can't say enough. We upgraded to the exquisite jr. suite #11 that looked out over the pool & dining room that was so beautiful we wished we could have extended our stay. The complimentary breakfast with cappuccino included was delicious. We enjoyed dinner and the fabulous musician singing. We look forward to coming back on a weekend to experience the speakeasy! The staff was superb as well.

Beautiful property, with a wonderful blend of colonial inspired architecture and lush foliage. Breakfast was great and the dinner restaurant was also amazing (you are paying higher prices for dinner). Everything was clean and communicated well.

The Meson was very pretty and had unique decoration. The only little inconvenience was that there was no air conditioning in the room, and it was a little warm, but the fan helped some. Overall, the stay was very pleasant.

EXCEPTIONAL! Wonderful property in the heart of the city, with top notch dining on premises. Attentive staff and a surprise around every corner. Truly a marvel of hospitality, something all hotels should aspire to be. Highly recommended.

Beautiful property and people.

I was blown away by how beautiful the property was; the area was lush with gardens and views of the town. The staff were friendly and helpful. I went with my daughter and we felt safe and relaxed. The breakfast was delicious and the welcome cocktail a nice surprise.

I never made it. Our flight got canceled. Could never make it to Guatemala. I call Expedia. I called the hotel to cancel the reservation and not even one of them can help me to cancel the hotel

So far our stay has been wonderful. Five out of five on everything. The breakfast included in the stay was delicious. There are four breakfast options. Each is wonderful. We swim in the pool in the morning.

Romantic Getaway

Panza Verde was a romantic home away from home. From the beautiful included breakfast, to the quaint pool, to the lush greenery outside our room, and don’t even get me started on the bathtub! Everything was stunning from start to finish! And do not skip out on dinner here 10/10 all over!

Amazing hotel

Beautiful and romantic place! A couple of blocks from the Central Plaza, the hotel counts with a friendly staff in both the hotel and the restaurant (Christian & Rodrigo, excellent service). Delightful typical breakfast and gourmet meals. Rooms and general areas are impeccably clean and nicely set up with the purpose of making guests feel welcome. Gardens well kept and nicely designed with taste. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back soon.

Unique property and centrally located in Antigua but far away enough from the crowds of the center square. Restaurant is absolutely delicious!

I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, and this is one of my favorite. We stayed in the Blue Room, and it was stunning. The entire property is enchanting with picturesque nooks where you can sit and enjoy a cocktail, a read or a chat. The pool is situated amongst the open air dining area and was quite chilly, but we still enjoyed lounging by it and dipping our feet in. Perhaps not best for a full on swim though especially because most days it’s closed for swimming after 11 AM. The included breakfast is tasty, and the bar offers a fantastic list of cocktails. Highly recommend this property.

The property is beautiful, rooms are awesome. Really enjoyed eating in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. A few downers for the price: one night a loud party was going on behind the hotel, the music shook the windows of our room. They spoke to the other hotel and they said they would turn down the music by 10, it was 10:30 they lowered it a bit and it went on until past 12. Second they offer a boxed breakfast if you need to leave early-despite confirming twice, they forgot to pack us one. It is a great hotel-for the price you expect a bit more attention to detail to be truly 5 stars.

I would not recommend this hotel due to the noise in the property next door. We were looking for a nice an quiet place to stay, but this hotel did not meet the expectations. If you want loud music pumping through your ears late night, stay here. Otherwise, stay away. By far the worst hotel experience in about 20 years for me.

Comfortable and convenient

Only stayed 1 night so this is not a comprehensive review - very friendly staff and good breakfast though. I was able to walk to all major sites and there are several good restaurants walkable in under 1km. I did utilize the transportation from the airport to Antigua as well which was timely and the driver was trustworthy.

Beautiful property and rooms are impeccably decorated (beds are extremely comfortable). Conveniently located. Restaurant food was delicious. Staff was great. Pool had limited hours and wasn’t hearted.

I spent my husband's birthday here and stayed in the grand suite, i got the birthday package, the staff went above and beyond and really made him and us feel special, the room was so beautiful with roses everywhere, flowers snd champagne, lit candles not to mention the beautiful antique architecture, Guatemalan people are very kind and welcoming. I asked for ballons and they obliged my request , we had a late arrival and the taxi was there waiting as well as the room. I recommend you choose them for your honey moon or anniversary. The hotel is beautiful with great food and restaurants. Gracias mi amigos!

El restaurante y la comida fue la estrella de la estadía, muy rico todo. Sin embargo, el hotel como tal deja mucho que desear, aún considerando el área de bosque, encontramos muchos insectos en la habitación, incluso en toallas, cama y accesorios del mismo. Cosa que se mencionó y no se hizo nada al respecto o bien, no les importó . La habitación podría mejorar la iluminación y aumentar las comodidades básicas, ya que el precio es bastante elevado y careció muchos detalles que tienen otros hoteles de categoría media y alta ej. Mini bar, A/C, jacuzzi más amplio, Smart TV.

The staff are excellent! So friendly, helpful and kind. The room we had was small but had a spacious patio.

Excellent place to stay. Service is top notch and very friendly. Close to some very good restaurants, the one at the hotel is the best, be sure to make reservations. 4 blocks to central park, 5 to the arch.

Customer Service

I called to ask if I could cancel my stay due to a family member getting Covid 3 days before the stay. I was told by the hotel that it’s not up to them and that I needed to ask hotels.com if it was allowed. Hotels.com said they were happy to but needed the hotel’s permission so they called the hotel and the manager at the hotel wouldn’t agree to the cancellation. I completely understand the if the hotel couldn’t cancel given their policy but very annoyed that they lied to me when I called and wasted my time.

One of my favorites in Antigua

The property is beautiful but the hotel room floor was dirty. The waiters were very kind but but front desk staff wow.. just horrible. I have never experienced staff as rude, disrespectful as the female front desk manager. I will never go back to this hotel.

This property is perfect. Easily accessible to main attractions, yet in a quiet area. Staff is very courteous and knowledgeable.

Beautiful place.

First let me say the low rating of meson panza verde was only because of the NOISE! I didn’t read the reviews and therefore did not see that has been a continual problem! They have live music every night…. We were not informed of this! We stayed in room #7 which was right above the music and the sound came right into our bathroom windows! On weekends the music plays until 11 pm…. During the week it usually stopped by 10! THIS WAS MISERABLE! Every thing else about the hotel was wonderful ….. beautiful room with our own private patio! The staff and people at the hotel couldn’t be nicer…. Breakfast was delicious and they even made me an almond milk latte! I think the hotel needs to decide if it wants to be a club or a hotel cause it’s definitely not succeeding in the later! Maybe at least informing people on the website or on check in about the music so a conscious decision can be made to stay there! Thank you to all the wonderful people working there who made our stay so enjoyable!

If you are looking for a beautiful upscale boutique hotel in Antigua this is a gem. Fabulous restaurant, incredibly beautiful and peaceful setting, fantastic rooms... I truly enjoyed staying in this luxurious, small hotel within 5 blocks of the main plaza. Absolutely worth the price.

this is the only place to stay in Guatemala

It's ok but nothing special, call 3 days in advance for special requests, when we arrived they were not ready with anything I had requested, it was supposed to be an anniversary surprise for my wife, but it became evident that they had not prepared nothing. The welcome staff was not very friendly. The room in the photos looks better than it really is. The restaurant staff is very friendly, as well as the person who checked us out and the person who helped us with our bags.

Wonderful ! Above our expectations. Beautiful setting, friendly personnel. Even though we stayed in the smallest room, it was perfect for us. Elegantly decorated and design. We shall be back.

Fantastic! It was hard to leave this place. From the gorgeous architecture to the romantic atmosphere, this place had it all. Food was excellent in the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Antigua. Easy walking distance to coffee shops, bars, and shopping all on 5th Avenue in Antigua. Short walking distance to the gorgeous city center with the arch and park. We loved it and look forward to our next stay. We would come back again. So romantic!

We stayed at this property recently and our booking was split as we did an overnight tour on a nearby volcano halfway through. The hotel is in a safe area, quiet and aesthetically pretty. We stayed in both room 7 and room 9 and preferred room 9. A few things to consider when staying here; if you are arriving early in Antigua, check-in is not before 3pm. We traveled for 11 hrs and arrived at 2:33pm and were told check-in was 3. We waited until 3 and then were told the room wasn’t ready and couldn’t check in until 4. This was not enjoyable as we were tired from a very long day. Similar situation occurred the second time we checked in. Another consideration would be to save receipts. When we checked out (the second time) the woman in the front (the same one who couldn’t check us in til 4) tried to charge me $376. I told her the rooms were already paid and she then told me this amount was for tax. This didn’t make any sense but she took my card and was firm. I showed her my receipts and then a manager (I presume) was checking things out and saw that the woman had me as a different customer. Additionally, a couple of days prior, this same woman told us the airport was not doing COVID testing and to use the doctor they had for testing for ~$55 each. The airport is indeed doing testing and it is $27. I felt like maybe it was coincidence, but it seemed like this staff member was only concerned about $ and lacked hospitality. I would not stay here again.

We reserved there because we found the pool's photos beautiful. The pool is closed and won't open for a few weeks. I would've like to know to reserve a place elsewhere.

We had a situation when we arrived the first night and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay amazing! It is a beautiful colonial boutique hotel at the edge of central Antigua. An absolute gem!! The hotel has many areas to sit and enjoy the beautiful volcanoes and greenery of Antigua. The food is great and the service is top notch. I’ve been truly impressed and will definitely stay here again.

Best Place to stay while in Antigua

This is the first time Ive rated a hotel perfectly in every area. Mezon Panza Verde was by far the cleanest and most beautiful hotel we stayed in while visiting Antigua. From the hotel room to the quality of food served at their restaurant everything was perfect and would stay there again without hesitation. The hotel staff was also very friendly and accommodating.

Lovely and unique property. I stayed at MPV for 2 nights and the end of my first trip to Antigua - solo for 2 months. MPV is a beautiful property - superb design with attention to aesthetics in every detail. The suite was beautiful and very comfortable. A little noise from the hallway/common area, but nothing too obnoxious. The common areas and roof top terraces are wonderful, offering all sorts of nooks and crannies to relax, read, romance etc. Truly a romantic spot! Well located in proximity to all Antigua has to offer. I highly recommend.

This hotel is so beautiful inside and out. Our suite was beyond my expectations. I was so in love with the pool area and live music. The hotel staff wee super friendly and accommodating. They gave us welcome drinks and prepared a special birthday treat for me. The food was excellent and they went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay

Really beautiful historic building in Antigua, Guatemala, away from the hustle and bustle of the main parque central. Great hospitality, cleanliness and ambience.

Panza verde is okay. There are many other hotels that are more beautiful for a better price. The staff will tip themselves without your consent if you pay in cash. The way they do it is pretending they charged you more for food you ordered (we got extra bread and it was free but the waiter charged us to pocket the money). I would not stay here again.
