From the moment I arrived, well before normal check in time, the staff were friendly & helpful, storing my luggage & fast tracking my apartment for use. Nothing was ever a problem & I highly recommend the venue. I will be back in April next year for another stay.
Nice and clean and handy to the trams and rail. On the downside, checking in was a disaster, took forever even well after their advertised check in time. We needed a sleep after being on the go for so long and just as we were about to go to bed a lady walks in thinking it was her room - not good. I ended up having to go to the Hospital after a slight accident- tried to ring my wife via the Hotel Reception and they said they couldn’t put the call thru to the room and hung up. Called a second time to be told by the person on the phone that he didn’t know how to do that. Third attempt got put thru without any problem. We did receive an apology and a bottle of wine for having the lady intrude into our room. In fairness, the premises themselves were great, clean, tidy and we liked the location.
Great location and awesome staff
Read the other reviews about the great rooms and we’re a little disappointed that our room needs refurbishing. It looks well worn and tired.
Wonderful.palce, easy access to and from airport
We chose a great spot to stay - tram is around the corner: 3 stops and you are at the harbour, Circular Quay (walking distance to the Rocks then) and the Opera House. Great pub kitty corner (The Edinburgh Castle Hotel). Walking distance to QVB for those who like to shop. Was surprisingly quiet given doors don't reach the ground and so aren't muffling hallway sounds. Guests obviously honour quiet hours. The windows open which is a plus. Of course, street noise is 'vibrant' then; when windows are closed, you can't hear the street much at all. Would have liked more than 1 hand towel for the 2 of us for the week (Housekeeping after 3 nights; no change of linens or towels). Front desk very prompt in responding to questions/requests. Woolworth's at Town Hall around the corner has ready-made meals if you don't want to full-on cook.
Good location, clean, modern and comfortable.
Everything was fine except the wi fi which was slow and sometimes didn’t connect at all except for the email which was fine.
Clean, perfect for the purpose. No issues apart from the lift breaking down!
Excellent location: a block from Town Hall station. Many great restaurants and shops close by. Australian Opal Cutters just a block away. Clean, comfortable space. Enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony.
Great central property, easy access to main shopping areas, public transport including light rail and trains, and close to restaurants and groceries. The only downside is the parking is extremely tight and don't have the property validate your parking as they charge $45 a night and as it's a public carpark, the rate is only $15 per night. Staff was exceptional
I likes 3 separate betromms and kitchen and laundry.
The quality of the suite was excellent. The location was great with on-site parking, very convenient.
Best location
The location was by far the best
Lifts were fast and efficient. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Good for families who need apartments.
Room was clean and comfortable bed. Nice to have a small table and casual chair to sit on. Very handy to have the washing machine and dry as well.
Fabulous location and wonderful staff
Very welcoming team. Super helpful with baggage storage upon early morning arrival. The team contacted us within an hour to let us know our room was already available. Reena, Guest Services Manager was a delight and able to fix a couple of small supply needs for us and sort issues out very quickly! Loved the location just a few steps from Town Hall station.
The didn’t think we got value for money . The towels were small and the Neighbours (next room)doors were slamming from 11.15pm and started again at 5.15am . Vanity door damage Skirting boards water damages .
Good location and quality accommodation
We will be staying at this property again when we visit Sydney the next time. The hotel is in the best location, it's a two minute walk to Town Center and endless shopping. The other direction a two minute walk to Hyde Park. Our room, with a living room, kitchen, one bedroom and a two person soaker tub was very comfortable. The guest services staff at the front desk were outstanding, friendly, kind and helpful. Thank you for a great stay.
Clean and available facilities
Had a three bedroom suite--great!! However, requested face washers (face cloths) and they were out. Requested that the room be cleaned on the 2nd day of our 4 day stay and was advised they only clean every 3rd day--we checked out on the 4th day. Conveniently located near trains, plaza, pubs, markets, banks. Would stay there again.
The room a bit run down, door was not able to lock properly
Loved our stay easy great location for walking and public transport would definitely stay again.
Great location and massive apartment. Very comfortable and had all the necessities needed. Overall, great stay!
Great Stay!
Very clean and central to the city
Great stay at Meriton Pitt street. King bed with a kitchen was the perfect space for us. Joseph made our stay with a warm welcome, efficient check in and great recommendations for the area. Easy to get to from the metro. Excellent coffee directly across the street at La Famiglia and a Woolworths grocery store within a few mins walk to stock up. Glad we chose Meriton for our stay.
We had a one bedroom apartment at the Meriton Pitt Street and it was awesome. Spacious and very well equipped. It was close to both Museum and Town Hall station. Highly recommend.
Room was not ready at 3pm (check in time) and the reception staff was unhelpful and unapologetic, said "wait and I will let you know when ready" which he never did and disappeared from reception. There was a staff change over and eventually spoke to another person that organised a room. Surprised as I've stayed in many Meriton locations and staff are generally professional and well trained. Really quite disappointed and won't be back here anytime soon.
Lift doors closed so quickly when trying to manipulate luggage in and out of lift. Similarly the entrance door to suite could do with a magnate or similar to hold door open. The car park is awful
The staff made the check-in and check out process so easy. Very conveniently located for all amenities especially the new metro station
Loved the suites compact and had everything needed for stay. The lift was fast, efficient and very safe. Staff were professional and knowledgeable about the area and hotel. Will stay again
Ideal position for our stay
We love the place
Disappointing experience
The apartment was not clean. One of the beds had crumbs in between the sheets, and we needed to get the housekeeping team to change our bedsheets. Customer service was horrible. We were provided with wrong information about parking charges. We were initially told that there was a grace period for parking, but turned out after our own checks that there was no grace period. The front desk staff (specifically Marina) was unapologetic, rude, and accusatory in her replies. We have also stayed at Meriton Suites at Kent Street, rooms were not clean. Suggest to look elsewhere within the city.
Centrally located
Great service. Grateful for being able to leave our luggage.
Great location
Top location, safe friendly executive style
Friendly professional check in. Great 2 bedrooms perfect for family or professional space. Great location central with safe walking to all cbd locations and train. We used the pool and spa and it was a great mini vacation for the family.
Weekend away. Good central location
Great spot on Pitt street. Close to everything.
Older hotel with out dated decors. Our first room heat did not work, had to switch room middle of night.
Great location and comfortable and flexible space.
Overnight
A quick overnight trip , we had an appointment , was a great location
Pool and spa was amazing
Highly recommended. Great location, convenient, good amenities.
Friendly staff and really good location. Everything near by
I had a studio suite which had everything you need for a long term stay - cooking and washing facilities, large fridge. Close to transport but also within walking distance to all of the cbd.
The property was very good, location, restaurants, etc. However, the locks on balcony doors were in need of cleaning and adjustment as they would not lock properly.
Enjoyed our stay, great for shopping and easy access to tram, and dining.
Good location central to all. Apartment in good condition and checkin and checkout is easy. Front desk personnel are courteous and efficient.
Shame
Disappointed with room location, not as indicated on brochure, was east facing, no view and no sun in the room. Cutlery and tableware not clean, lipstick marks on wine glasses, not cleaned properly, Bathtub had soap scum, needed cleaning before using. Water running out of shower cubicle under door into bathroom area and around toilet. Bathroom is dated and mould on the shower wall. Hotel staff were really fantastic and so helpful. We thought overpriced.
The shower leaked out onto the bathroom floor. We were there for 4 days. Had to ask for more toilet paper, clean towels. Couch was stained. Our room and the corridor areas on our floor looked tired.
Central location
Great location central to shops, shows and dining. Just around the corner from Airport Train Station (Town Hall). All in all a good stay.
enjoyed the space of an apartment. it was cold and the climate control would not fix the problem. the cleaning before i arrived missed a few places.
My husband was trapped in the elevator with several others for a half hour and had to climb out between floors. The hotel refunded one nights stay but for the remainder of our stay only 1 elevator was working making it very difficult to get to and from the 24th floor. We had to walk down to the lobby as the elevator wouldn’t stop at our floor to take us down and the wait times to get upstairs were very long. Rooms were very nice.
Had a few issues with my booking (my fault!) the front desk were so friendly and assisted me as best as they could. The room itself was very comfortable and so close to all shopping needs. Walking distance to the Harbour Bridge and Opera house, super convenient! Thank you for the memorable stay :)
Elevators were way too slow staff should have there own service Elevator not us customers one . But besides that everything was great 👍
Great place, elevators need an overhaul!
This hotel was great in so many ways. Location, nice rooms, friendly staff and cleanliness. I have it overall 3 stars due to their elevators (lifts)!! There are 3 of them and one wasn’t working when we arrived. Then we got stuck in one our first night for over 35 minutes with 9 people! The staff did their best to get us out and compensated us a free night stay which I thought was very generous. Now the 3 stars came when they were unable to fix the 2 elevators during the rest of our stay which created a huge mess getting people up and down to their rooms.
The location was very good as was the cleanliness and size of the suite however for most of two full days the lifts were malfunctioning. People were trapped in one lift for over an hour, another lift was out of order and the electronic management system favoured calls to the parking floors over guest floors. When we left two days later, the situation had not improved.
Excellent location, just at 2 minutes from the Town Hall train and tram station, or 4 minutes to Museum station and direct train to airport. Excellent service, but we stayed later in Meriton Melbourne, and the comparison is not favorable to Sydney Pitts, which need a facelift to regain its full attractiveness. We would recommend anyway,
Great location and facilities.
Location of the property makes it very convenient to go to different places - shopping centers, QVB, The Rocks, etc. But cleanliness is not highly rated as we saw a dead cockroach right in front of our apartment door and there was also no one cleaning or tidying up our apartment during our 3 nights stay at the property.
We really enjoyed our stay. Initially we had to move rooms due to a terrible smell that was on our floor and was coming into our room. We were promptly moved to another level by staff which was mostly appreciated. They were extremely kind, considerate and helpful.
Location
Great location within the CBD. Close to transport. Large room and as a bonus had a washing machine and dryer.
Good location. Handy to lots of things in the city both walking and through handy public transport options. Had a 2 bedroom apartment. Was an excellent size and liked having a lounge/dining area.
Very nice place, well equipped and friendly helpful staff. Only downside rolling upgrade 1 of 3 lifts over a few months can cause extended waits and congestion. Not a big fan of indoor swimming pools
Great location and amenities. Suite was very clean and well appointed. Washer/dryer was great.
Was a great place to stay ! Had everything we needed . Loved the kitchen and making our own breakfast
The room had everything we needed for our stay. Excellent facilities. Very clean. Close to everything. Would definetely recommend staying here.
Fantastic location! Great apartment and they granted us early check in which was wonderful.
fabulous inner-city weekend
It's not every day you splurge for a family members birthday but when you do, you have to hope it will be as good as staying on the 50th Floor at the Meriton Suites Pitt Street. The view was sensational and took it more the 180 degrees of the city. Wish we could have stayed longer. The apartment was very comfortable for 4 + child. plenty of seating, comfortable beds although some may like a little softer, (they were not hard though) kitchen was great with the bare necessities. You may want to take your fave frypan etc if you intend cooking. (we always do) The only negative was the heat in the 2nd bathroom in early morning. It was a hot box due to no blind. The glass is frosted for privacy but wow on a hot summer morning, leave the shower till last and then get out. We used the pool which was really refreshing and long enough to do some serious laps if that's your thing. Sauna was perfect too. Loved it all. Lastly, the location is so great. You can walk or light rail it everywhere in the city. If you are training into the city it's a very doable walk from Central also or just a couple of stops on the light rail up to Townhall and around to Pitt St. Hope we can stay again. Thankyou Meriton.
2 Stars
Overall did not have a great experience, i’m from the United States and came to Australia to visit some friends of mine. First thing I noticed when I went into the room was an overwhelming amount of bugs flying around. I told the staff about it hoping they would give me a different room but instead they sent someone to spray insect killer. The bugs did not go away even after they sprayed it. The other problem I had is a personal one and might not have lined up with hotel policy so I can’t say for certain that they are in the wrong. One of the main reasons I booked this location was so that me and my friends could hang out and have some drinks before going out to one of the nearby clubs and bars however security wouldn’t let them come in despite me telling them that they would only be inside for an hour.
Front desk reena and Germaine were excellent
Great location. Rooms were a good size. Beds were comfortable. A few minor concerns regarding the cleanliness. Parking isn’t great. But overall, we appreciated our stay.
Right in the heart of the shopping district, thronging with shoppers. Super easy to get around. They have the Aircon set to drown out the street sounds, like a blow dryer on all the time. My main problem was the none working internet, that took 3 nights to fix.
Unfortunately one of our rooms was not available at 3pm. Was advised that they would call when room was ready. After 4pm still no call and had to go to reception again to check. Too bad if we required the room to get ready for a function! Not good enough....check in is getting later and later!
Spacious, Clean and very well situated. Only downside were the very hard beds which are super uncomfortable.
Appalling customer service from slow check in to checkout. Things like no iron available and took over an hour and several calls to reception to get one. Lift being refurbished which meant slow waits every time and loud drilling noises started at 7am. No wifi would work. Over charged at check in. Overall extremely poor service and training of front of house staff. For cost of accommodation certainly not good value.
Great Location Let Down By Poor Service.
Great location let down by sloppy management and lack of attention to details. Arrived just before the 3pm check-in time (OK with that) and luggage stored with a promise total when room ready. NO CALL MADE. Waited ages to collect stored luggage (staff member found on a phone call). Nice kitchen BUT no plug for sink, no lost of equipment provided. Only had a fry pan. Went to front desk to request a saucepan - came back from shopping and found a 2nd frypan had been delivered. never bothered to speak with staff again - waste of time. Mid stay "service" was very basic - no attempt to ensure all supplies were re-stocked. Finally, only 2 of three lifts working for a 50+ storey building - timing of renovating 3rd lift questioned when this was a season with very high occupancy (lot of families in).
Not worth the cost
Due to the maintenance elevator, the wait time is almost 6-10 minutes. We paid for the two-bedroom apt for almost 550 a night. The room felt dated. The walls were scuffed up. Lights in the bedroom weren't working, and the bedsheets smelled terrible. The washing machine was thunderous to use. I would most likely won't stay at this hotel again. There are accommodations in the city.
I had an enjoyable stay with the exception of the lifts in the building. Hopefully they were just teething problems that will soon be resolved.
Great location, staff were wonderful, but the hotel itself needs some TLC. Stains on the lounge, minimal items in the kitchen, just all round tired and looking a little worn out and neglected. I would have expected more for what you pay. And the lifts were a bit of a nightmare also.
2br apartment was great for our group of 3. Very comfortable. Laundry in apartment was handy.
Great location, improved room servicing
Excellent location. Rooms clean and well maintained. Service of rooms is not Daily, During our 4 day stay we only had service to the room on our last day. However if you called for fresh trowels they always delivered them.
Always reliable chain of hotels. Staff were great and very accommodating
Clean, tidy and well maintained. Good kitchenette and comfortable bed.
Terrible experience, been allocated to a noisy room. Aircon was very loud even on low fan during a humid evening. Been checked in by a non friendly receptionist although she kindly gave me my room earlier than check in time. Long waiting at the lifts. Was there for work and didn’t have a wink of sleep. Sadly will never stay or book any of our staff there again!
Elevator problem. Smoke smell inside aprtment coming from outside.
Perfect location if you have meetings in the city and very close to the Town Hall train station for easy transport and from the airport. Loved it!
Elevators were horrible, 1 of 3 was not in service others unreliable. Hot water system had to be fixed during stay. Nice area very convenient but I'll find a different place next time.
This is not a 'luxury' property it's just an office block. The lifts are not currently working properly requiring at least a 10 minute wait. Our room was not ready when we checked in at 3pm and we had to wait 15 min.
Poor resolution to a potentially serious problem.
The hotel is clean and conveniently located, however, my stay was horrible. The first night, the tv kept randomly turning itself on in the bedroom. I tried removing the batteries from the remote and ended up unplugging the tv. Problem solved temporarily. The second night I woke up choking at 3am from very strong paint fumes coming from the parking garage below. Security came to our room to confirm that it was indeed paint fumes and apologized. Nothing more. I slept in a chair by an open window that night. Next day I checked with the front desk and was told they weren’t finished painting and moved us up to the 49th floor. Although better, the fumes were so strong we could smell it on the 49th floor as well. As an asthmatic, i assumed I was more sensitive, but other guests had a similar experience and were not happy. I coughed for 2 days after leaving the hotel. They deducted 25% from my bill. Big deal 🙄 Horrible experience.
Great location.
2 outa 5
Waited 1 hour and half in elevator because they were working on the other 2 elevators told me i could check in early and waited 8 hours to check in tv quit working in thr bedroom didnt realize thats there was going to be construction outside with jack hammers going off all night but other then that it was ok
It was central enough but the rooms were not clean there was dust everywhere.the bathrooms are small. The lifts are atrocious.staff tried to help but they can't do much.i think this is more a management issue.
There were 3 lifts at the hotel for the duration of our stay one and sometimes two were out of order meaning very long waits several times a day there were 37 floors so taking the stairs not an option. The room was not serviced during our stay so begun to feel quite grubby There was lots of noisy building work in the area during the night
The property was old in compare with the price. The microwave was broken! When I opened the microwave door just came off on my hand..The shower handle was broken. The lift was terrible for going down and coming up..It took 10 min. Most off the power plug were broken with out cover around. I tried to talk with manager but nobody care. The price soo hight in compare with facilities
Parking lot was tight and expensive
